Afternoon fellas and gals; Hey Joe; Talented and gifted players are far and few between. Sometimes it's the players ego and sometimes it's the agents greed. Sometimes it's a little bit of both. These bums have a player now that went to the Cubbies years ago for the same reason. What a blunder. History, if not studied and remembered, is bound to be repeated. You young wippersnappers out there should hit the history books once in a while. And , by the way there is no extra charge for this advice. I will now return to my most serene wa. later.
Think good thoughts, do good deeds!
Don, kind of a mixed bag on your Dr. Visit but overall sounds like you may be able to put off any more sugery right away. I certainly hope so. Prayers sent for you.
We went to church last night for penace service. They have it every year before Easter. That went well. Had a dinner beforehand of wings from Costco with mashed potatoes and peas. Not bad!
We are starting up again with a little walking each day and will build up gradually. We are both out of shape and need to get back in the habit.
Got errands to run this morning.
later,

Aloha. Sunny and warm today and tomorrow. Then rain and cold again. Sigh. We'll celebrate the bride's milestone birthday this weekend for real. I'm sure this will include dinners and shopping. I have reservations for 'high tea' at a downtown hotel which she loved when we were in Hong Kong. Have some outdoor chores to do too - dare I hook up the hoses? Rich, there's been a lot of publicity here about Harley's new 'small' bike to capture a younger market.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill.......
Good Morning, Joe........
It is a dark and rainy 62 degrees. Going up to 70 today.
Today is an easy day. I have an errand to run and a few chores to do. I will relax and have lunch. Then a nice nap
Usual breakfast on the dining car.
Buckeye & LAZ.........TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Mornin' boys. 61 with a chance of afternoon showers in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Splash down @ noon!
anjdevil - Camden Yards is nice. We can splurge on the dugout seats.
Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,
We had a great time at the cabin last night. There were some other families from the neighborhood there as well so all the kids had fun too. This morning we all went to breakfast and then I took the youngest to the archery range. He is enthralled with bows and arrows. On the way home we stopped for some Japanese curry for lunch which is always tasty. We have not done much else the rest of the day.
Ken – The Yankees bounced back nicely and took care of the real bums of baseball. As much I like Cano, not resigning him was the right move; it wasn’t the money, he wanted too many years.
Sayonara,
Joe
Good Evening
Well, went to the Dr for a 2:30 appt, left the office at 5:30 ! Anyway, he agreed the new X-Rays showed a vast improvement. However, there still was some concern. Ideally the angle between the knee joint and the ankle joint should be 5 degrees or less. Mine is 7 degrees. He said that it was right on the cusp, if additional surgery is needed.
The problem is the tibia (larger bone) is the one that has been healing, and the fibula (smaller bone) position is preventing the tibia from aligning correctly. And the alternative is to cut the fibula to let the tibia align correctly.
Obviously I dont want to start the recovery over again. The downside of not doing anything could be a different wear factor in the ankle joint. I asked about whether or not I would see any impact on my ability to walk. He said no. So long story short, not going to submit to another surgery at this time. Will leave that option open for a year or so from now to re-evaluate.
Hence, this external fixator will be coming off in the next week or so, as soon as it can be scheduled at the hospital. (Outpatient procedure). Then will have a full leg cast put on for 2-3 weeks, then a shorter cast put on for 3-4 weeks, then therapy. So will continue to be optimistic and can begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Don
Hello there,
Quick check in while checking some auctions on the bay.
Beautiful day here. Almost dry enough to plow........rain is predicted for tomorrow.
Glad to hear Jeffry is improving and Don got a good Doc report
Got some unexpected news at the cardio doc follow up the other day. It seems with all the drugs I had the day of the cath I didn't hear him tell me about the artery that has a 30% blockage. It is near the junction of a larger artery and could start to close it. Doc's still advising better diet and moderate exercise along with the drugs I've been on to reverse the problem.
Frying fish tomorrrow......only one left after that. Two weeks from tonight I'll be in YORK barring any thing unexpected.
Where's ROY been? Any body heard from him?
Off t bed
Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,
Picked up my last engine repair tonight, the 318E Classic. No downstairs track to run it on, but may do some upstairs running this weekend. Resolved potentially major snag with bathroom remodel today. Will delay a day or two, but will make wife extremely happy, so it is all good. Work was quiet, but had one moment that last year would have caused major personnel conflict explosion. This year it was handled ok. Nice walk outside at noon. Did pick up Lionel catalogs while at dealer today. Picked up sticks outside today as well or at least started on them. That is a never ending job. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Gone, back tomorrow night. Left big black dog on guard.

V8VegaJonadel how do you plan a road trip on Mapquest?
The short answer is "with great distress", after about 45 minutes of messing with it with frustrating results I turned to the boss and said this isn't working! What you can do is put in your starting address and end address--plot it and then start dragging icons around to where you want to stop or go through. I then grabbed my old trusty Rand McNally Road Atlas and life was much more pleasant for both of us.
I have used Google Maps for a long time and have had great success but since I have updated my iOS it's not as easy as it once was -- bottom line, I need to put in the time and figure it out, it's simply operator error, ME!
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Mornin' fellas and gals; Another fabulous day in trendy Sparta! I awoke to the serenade of a wood pecker at 6:30 am! It turns out the pecker is of a Pileated variety. Quite large and colorful, with black wings, white body and red head. Although the bird was about 25 yards away, it seemed it was drumming on my skull! Ah, nature! Speaking of birds; O's beat the bums 5-4; Yipee! See what happens when you don't re-sign your second baseman. later.
Jon - I have looked at the Yamaha Silverado S 1700 and the Kawasaki Nomad 1700. I thought about the VTX 1800T, but not sure about it.
My best friend turned me on to this guy in Lancaster and its a good deal I think, I really didn't want a dresser, but it looks like it will suit my needs and the fact I can pay cash means there isn't a monthly reminder.
As you know, riding season is FAST approaching, I'd love to get it before May.
I plan to take a few long distance trips and the Harley wasn't going to do the job. Looking at other Harleys, for the money, the Asian bikes offer more value. The Harely mystique is fine, I'm just tired of fixing stuff every time I ride.
Thanks for the insight, Jon....I appreciate your thoughts. The '93 is in Black - which I like...lol
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
anjdevil2 Jon - I'm looking at a 1993 Honda Gold Wing with 84K - it's an estate sale and has new rubber and will be gone through a Honda dealer. $3k - any thoughts? I felt the mileage was too high but it is 21 years old. I wasn't looking at a tourer but it's an attractive price and maintained...

Rich -- that's a tough call. If it's been garaged, maintained with decent rubber it's probably not a bad buy, will the Honda dealer give you a 30 day warranty? Even though the mileage might seem high, it's not. It will easily last for 150K and more. If you do want a full dresser that's a good way to get started.
Have you considered a Honda VTX 1300 or 1800? Or even the Shadow Sabre 1100. My youngest son rides the 1100 and he's gone everywhere with me, not one problem. It's a great town/weekend/let's go to Sturgis bike. It even went through the Rockies in CO and around Lake Michigan through Canada Circle Tour. Before my Gold Wing I had the VTX 1300 R and I really really liked that bike, plenty of power and of course Honda reliability. If you can find a VTX 1800 I would buy it in a heartbeat, that thing is a rocket ship and would last a lifetime.
I'm riding my last bike and I love it, lots of comfort and all the do dads to keep me warm plus cruise control. I probably have 2-3 years of riding left if my health holds up. Lots of Wing riders in their 70's ride huge miles every year. I'm almost 70 but I don't like riding in the rain, in fact if it's raining here I won't ride, I wait. If I'm away from home and it's raining I ride, I don't like it but I still ride. Yup, I'm getting soft but I do like AC and the protection of the elements. I do all kinds of rides with the PGR, rain or sun or cold but that's a different calling, it's the least I can do.
A sunny and real warm good morning. House chores and chainsaws to sharpen. Lunch meeting. Walk some this afternoon. Reception at new ACE.
Hit the road to the farms and camper. Crew coming tomorrow to install a metal carport over camper. Home tomorrow night as Wifey is leaving for Yankeeland early Friday AM. Going with Sister and Great Niece [Sister is Great Niece's Nana] to see Nephew as he is shipping out of Syracuse NY [10th Mountain Div.]. Then they are going to raid Niagara Falls, Hersey PA., Amish Country PA. and Gettysburg. Home Monday night so I have to come back Friday night to babysit. Had to anyway as grand opening and ribbon cutting of new ACE Sat. Will miss opening day of turkey season [Sat.]
jonadel At that point we'll head north to Raleigh, NC to see our God son and hopefully the Roseyville Rascal will buy us a cup of coffee!

Another Yankee to throw in the Roseyville jail and tar and feather.
Good luck Shake and Bake with Dr.'s apt. today.
David, how are you doing?
Have a good one.
Mornin' FellasWow it just amazes me how quickly plans can change! I was really hoping to get into the train room last night, but TheQ had other plans and we ended up running errands all evening. Not that I was complaining as I love spending time with the family. Especially when we have to go to Westminster, MD... there is a mom & pop ice cream parlor there that we like to stop at for shakes or cones. Well last night we stopped at Chic-Fil-A for dinner, then BJ's warehouse for some supplies, and as we are leaving the warehouse store Christina says "Hey Mommy can we get ice cream?" Gotta love that kid, she doesn't forget where the ice cream stores are! So as we are driving along she is in the back seat whispering "I really want mint chocolate chip ice cream, I really want mint chocolate chip ice cream" over and over. Then we pull up to the shop and she says "YEAH I want to go in too", get the car parked, get out to go open the door for her and TheQ is just laughing... "She just said, 'hurry up Daddy I'm stuck'"... LOL... get in the store and she runs up to the counter and the lady asks what we want and Christina very clearly says "I would like mint chocolate chip please". Really makes me happy when she remembers her manners when she is excited about something!

Good Morning! 43 and Sunny! Down the Jersey Shore!
Today it is lawn work. Got to get rid of the weeds in the lawn. Thinking of turning the outside water and sprinklers on. Looks like the below freezing nights are over. Tonight we are going to a Food, Wine, Beere, Liquor Tasting Fund Raiser. Should be interesting.
SPMan, Ray: The extension should put your mind at ease.
Jon: The Road Trip sounds like a great time. Maybe we will see you at York!
Joe D: That Cabin sounds like a nice getaway.
Rich: Get Well! Enjoy the Spa.
Enjoy the Day!

Cheerios for breakfast on the dining car.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Hudson#685SPman, Ray: The extension is no problem. We get it almost every year with the wife's business and the accountant is overloaded. Good news about the termites
John, we did get an extension because we were missing some forms from the IRS but tax preparer will handle it and they will send me copies. Probably complete it all in May. At least I can stop worrying about the April 15th deadline now.
D. Baker, hope you have good news tomorrow.
Sunshine today and somewhat warmer. Quiet day at work. Work on back bathroom goes well. Good news, Don B. Played some soccer (sort of) tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
fifedog jonadel - A ride on the yatchet when you get down this-a-way.
jonadel - A ride on the yatchet when you get down this-a-way.
Thanks Fife -- about two weeks ago I made a rough draft on Mapquest of our next road trip for spring of 2015. Leaving from Adel and heading towards OK City and then south to Gulf. Even though we've been to New Orleans and Florida it's always been by air but our first choice of travel is by car.
We will take our time along the Gulf and then make our way to Savannah, that city has been on our bucket list for eight years, it's time. At that point we'll head north to Raleigh, NC to see our God son and hopefully the Roseyville Rascal will buy us a cup of coffee! Would love to be in DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival if we can time it right OR the spring meet at York before heading home.
One of my greatest joys is planning a road trip, whether it's with our youngest son on our bikes or now Sharyl and I in the car. Its just like building an O gauge layout, the possibilities are endless.
Good Afternoon! 60 and Sunny down the Jersey Shore!
Yesterday while helping decorate the Ice Cream Store for Easter, I spotted Doray throwing out foam rubber that the ice cream cones come shipped in. It looked familiar. It was very close to the foam that they sell as work cradles for $35 except is was not as high or rigid. I took it home and it worked great. And so was the price!
Today I took Doray to get her brace. It did not fit so he tried another brace that did not work. This was trip #4. Doray told him she will talk to her doctor and forget that brace. We had lunch at Red Lobster and she wanted to drive herself to PT and talk to the therapist and the Doctor. School tonight.
Ken: We leave Jersey on Thursday Morning and stay overnight Thursday and Friday and Leave after our last pass on Saturday afternoon.
Don: So far Doray's PT is scheduled to go to June. She is having a problem with alignment with her right leg. The Doctor and Therapist both said she pushed herself too hard too fast. I hope you get good news at the next Doctor's visit.
Brent: Going to miss you at York.
Fife: Happy Birthday to the Princess! Tell Wifey that there will be Ice Cream.
SPman, Ray: The extension is no problem. We get it almost every year with the wife's business and the accountant is overloaded. Good news about the termites.
Prayers for all in need!
Good afternoon all,
Don, much better news from the x ray tech. Hope your doctor agrees.
Going to see tax preparer today but do not have appointment. Will have to leave everything and maybe get an extension. We have some issues with our record keeping and have been doing a lot of dectective work. My wife has spoiled me in the past and maintained all this stuff but now she is having problems so I have to get more involved.
They cut down the big pine tree across the street from me today. Wow! This thing was at least 60 feet tall with a big canopy. It died from bark beatle disease. I thought they would take it down in pieces but they dropped the whole thing right in the street. It's a wonder that it did not break the street surface. They had lots of equipment and loaders. Had it all done in about an hour Amazing! The base of the trunk was about four feet in diameter.
Termite inspector came this morning before that and gave me a clean bill of health for now. Had one old spot under train layout on a two by four benchwork leg that had some previous droppings. He put down some white powder and told me to watch for any new droppings and to let them know if I see any. I think what he saw was old stuff.
88 - We'll get the little darlings together in the next couple months. Either you guys here, or us there.
Aloha. Looks like a nice day here in the Loop, topping out at 55ish but sunny. Brent, those otterbox covers are a pain but worth it when you next drop the phone. DonB, I saw that Trains photo and was wondering if you were on that run. Looks like there are some equipment issues with the trains at Cedar Point.
Cloudy good morning. Clearing soon. Had dentist apt. at 8 AM. Now to Mayor's uniform and off to meetings all day. Do get free lunch.
AH, the Yankees were just resting.
Thanks to all you workers. SS was in my account this AM.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill.........
Good Morning, Joe..........
It is a sunny 48 degrees. Going up to 60 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and then I can relax and do some reading. Indians doubleheader on TV.
