I survived hurricane Andrew, so a small wind storm don't scare me that much, but I do try to avoid the storms if and when I can. A little chilly here today compared to Wednesday this past week, now around 74, last week it would have been near 83 to 85. Going to warm up again on Monday, maybe up to the mid 80's again. Hopefully I start my new job by Friday of this coming week. Waiting on a shipment of postwar train stuff from somebody on OGR.

Good Sunday Afternoon All!

Just caught up reading the Pot for the last week. Seems all is good. We are all getting adjusted to the end of winter and some more seasonal temps around here. This being one of the coldest winters, I bet we will appreciate the spring all the more.

Good evening all,

Sunny but cold with temps in the 40s.  Wife and I played the old Lionel board game from the 90s, Double Crossing.  It is a lot of fun.  The carloads have interesting names.   Not much else going on.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good evening all,

We went to church with a group today followed by a brunch at a local restaurant.  Had visit from one of our old friends at the brunch who is living in Iowa now and recently widowed.  Her husband was one of the greatest generation as Brokaw called them. He was in his 90's and flew missions on B-29's over Japan.  We will all miss Jim,  He was buried with full military honors according to his wife.  He was able to make an "honor flight" to Washington D.C. before he died to be with other military men for a special reunion at the new WWII memorial.

My own BIL will be buried tomorrow at a Veterans cemetery in New Hampshire.  R.I.P.  He died in Florida but I'm glad they were able to get him to his final resting place per his wishes.

Our live in son will be returning home tonight from his rail fan week end in Stockton, Ca. at something called Winter Rail for rail fans.

Oldest son came down with food poisioning last week I just found out today.  Lost three days from work and had to go for medical attention.  Just got through talking with him.

Dinner tonight is up for grabs.  i.e. whatever we can find in the refrigerator.

later,

Ray

Good Evening,

Had a great day!  Bob and I went to the TTOS meet today in Arcadia.  It was a pretty good show.  I picked up one book, and Bob bought a couple of houses and some track.  Set through the Auction and enjoyed it.  Thought might have seen Ray there, but no luck.

Wife has a busy week coming up, lots of errands and other stuff, so I will be answering the phone and hopefully taking orders.  Will try and spend some time with the trains if I can figure out how to be able to handle phones without wearing myself out.

Take care and stay healthy !

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

I had to be at work early today so my 10-mile run this morning started 0500.  The workday wasn’t too busy and the best part of it was having lunch with some brand new Airmen.  They had some good questions and I hope I didn’t scare them too much.  The wife made chili for dinner.  I have another early workday tomorrow so I’ll be in bed early tonight.

Aloha. Sunny and supposed to be 50 today - yay! Then snow tomorrow - boo! Had my first experience with kidney stones late Sat night. Worst pain ever. Didn't know what it was -- Glad for the ER and major pain meds but felt better yesterday - don't think they've 'passed' yet but felt fine so came to work.

Good Morning! 42 and overcast.

Yesterday we went to a trade show for Doray's Ice Cream Shop. They had a great BBQ buffet. Checked out the new items and tried all of the samples. We had a great day. Today it is taking Doray to PT and school tonight.

Fife: Hope everything works out with the Yatchet. So far mine looks like it survived the winter well.

Joe D: I agree with SJ. This has been a tough winter and it is not over yet.

Buckeye: Safe traveling.

Doug: Hope the stone passes soon.

Enjoy the Day!

Don, really sorry I missed you at TTOS but I was unable to attend because of another commitment with church group.  How do you navigate those places now?  Do you have use a wheel chair or walker?

Have  a good week,

I'm baaack !

Two weeks of 50#'s in a 5# bag had me just to tired to read let alone post. Got a lot of catching up to do. But the real downer was the "BetterHalf's" 11yr old PT Cruiser died a peaceful death, which meant a weekend of car shopping. Needless to say we didn't agree but since she is the one who will be driving it she made the final choice. She found a really good price on a Nissan Versa Note with all the bells & whistles, probably 80% of which she'll never use. But the price was right. Thumbs Up She's happy, I'm happy. Smile, Wink & Grin

Bad news on my Atlas engine in need of some parts, nothing in stock. They have them on order and hoping for an April delivery.

I feel a snooze comin' on.

Later !

Evening,

Been watching train videos today.  Slow day.

SPRay, I sent an email to Bullfrog Snot.  They said if you add a couple drops of water and mix it it should respond unless it was frozen.  Stir it as if you would epoxy, and should be ok.

Congrats on the new car Doug.

Take care and stay healthy !!

Good evening all,

Made another mini-marathon practice run.  Did 5.5 miles in 1.5 hours without being out of breath or legs aching.  Could have done another 1.5 hours easy but ran out of daylight.   Snow headed our way Wednesday.   Work was busy.  Got a lot done.  Could do without extra chatter from others.  Headphones are good for something.   Wife was subbing today.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Howdy all.  Got to bed at 2 AM yesterday.  Up at 7:15 in the morning.  Met my new intern to be and talked.  Went to visit HS principal, ribbon cutting, lunch at Rville grill and then County Commissioners' work session.  WOW.  Stayed awake.  Came home and visited with Wifey.  We got take out pizza.  Settled down in recliner and that was it.  Just let Wiley out and in.

Hello Barker.  Thanks for the long post. Wink  Speak up man. Thumbs Up

Off to bed.

Can't do this like I use to.  A "little" older now.

Sleep tight.

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

I enjoyed a quick 2-mile run and weight training workout at the gym before heading into the office today.  The workday was quite busy with paperwork and briefings.  This evening I had a coaches’ meeting for the upcoming youth baseball season.  I am looking forward to another great baseball season.  I need to get some more sleep as I have to wake up early again tomorrow.

Doug M. – I hope the stone issue resolves itself soon.

Mike C. – Great job on the run.  What event are you training for?

Morning.  Been for a while.  TWC man came to run a special new outlet to upstairs bedroom.  Actually replacing old wire that was too small for digital.  He did a great job.  Got everything working great.  Now to get unpacked [yes] and do reports.  Sunny and 70's.  Drops tomorrow and rain.  Jumps back up later during the week.

Philly, good luck with the new job.

Hope all are doing OK.  Got to call Shake and Bake and see if he is surviving.

Got a lot of "house chores' to do.

Don, thanks for the tip.  I'll give it a try.

Had a talk with several of my sisters back East yesterday.  The one from Connecticut is visiting thecancer surviving sister in North Carolina.  Together they went to see my other sister, also a cancer patient in Virginia.  They had a big bar-b-que lunch with Eastern N.C. type bar-b-que.  Some local place in Virginia that used to make it years ago has started up again with the second generation.  People in the area are glad to have it again as opposed to having to drive to North Carolina to find it.

Plumber coming today to fix slow running kitchen drain.  Backs up when dishwasher empties.

Hello there,

Been MIA lately,

The warm weather has melted a lot of the snow and ice. Unfortunately a lot of the water has ended up in the barn making a he**uva mess. Son & I have been dealing with that. If we reach the predicted mid 50’s again today there shouldn’t be much left. There’s a couple of inches on the way tonight…………Crying

Last Friday was the 1st Seafood Buffet at church. Mrs & I fried Fish, Clams & Shrimp for +/- 620 people. A below average turnout but still rather hectic as the fryers for some reason were wildly varying their temperature.

Last Friday was also the day I failed to pass my cardiac stress test.  The catheterization will be March 20th. Hopefully there are no issues. Mrs failed a few years ago but her catheterization revealed no problems. I have a feeling that isn’t the case because I’ve been feeling rather poorly this winter.Sigh

Fife.....Hope there was no permanent damage

Also busy at work and trying to keep up with my folks.

Best get busy

Prayers for those in need

Thanks Chief! I just got an update on the job, I go in for finger printing in the morning, and the final papers to sign. Need to take one of our cats to the vet for an exam as he don't like to eat everything and he is losing weight. Hopefully it won't be that serious. Got another kitty who I call miss wake-up, she gets you up in the morning between 2:30 am and 5:15 am for a feeding or she pulls on your hair until you get up and feed her, at night she likes to sit on the recliner and act like she is watching TV but goes to sleep.

Good evening all,

Currently 70.  Will drop to 10 by Thursday morning.  Go figure.  I am training for the Indy 500 Mini-Marathon, part of which uses the track.  I hope to kiss the bricks.  Work was busy today.  Still having some issues, but I think that will always be the case.   At least I did not have to drive today, but tomorrow will be interesting for sure.  Nothing else to comment on.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
