We had a nice Saturday yesterday. The princess did well in her volleyball game as she is getting much better. I’m extremely impressed with her progress since this is the first time she has ever played volleyball as part of an organized team. During the morning the boys and I raked the leaves and filled around 10 large lawn bags worth. Unfortunately, there are still plenty of leaves still on the trees so the end is not in sight. Today we had Sunday school and church and now we will have a relaxing afternoon. We have our church’s Thanksgiving potluck this evening. Prior to going to church I was able to watch the second half and overtime of the PSU-Nebraska game. That was a disappointing loss to say the least.
Laz – I’m sorry to hear about Barry. I hope he has a speedy recovery. I realized a couple of months ago that the forum wasn’t compatible with IE11 so I use Firefox for it.
Doug M. – It won’t be too long before I’m out of league when it comes to her math.

Mornin' boys. Blustery & freezin' here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Glad that Fifepup and I hanked down the sails off the yatchet Friday, when the weather was mild. She's all snug in her cradle for the winter. You couldn't give me tickets to today's game at M&T. If my RAVENS lose to Gang Green, their season is all but over. Hope to get a lot done on the layout(s).

Went for birds yesterday with winds in the 20-25 MPH range and temp aroung 40 made for a cold day afield. We did put up 3 pheasants but they got up at about 45 yards and way to far to shoot, was at dusk so we couldn't go after them. saw some nice bucks last nite spotting deer so was a good day. MINNIE dog wore herself out but managed to bounce one rabbit and had a good chase.
Doing laundry today and walkin the dog and watching football. Maybe run some trains?

I received some photos of UP4014 move from Ray, so I posted them on SPF, check it out.
Going in this morning for MRI on shoulder, then have Dr appt on Tuesday, (Mondays appt cancelled). Other news found out yesterday Chris is going to Chaing Mai, Thailand for 6 weeks next summer for research with school. Needless to say Mom isn't too happy. As I told her at least he is going there with a hammer and chisel in his hand and not a rifle on his shoulder. Didn't help much. (He will be about 400 miles from where I was when I was there with USAF.
Cal Stewart meet going on this weekend, think Im going to take a pass on it. In the past there isn't a whole lot there and cost would be $40 just to get in the door once youre there.

COLD!! Went to lake house to insure heat was working. Had not been in about two months. All A OK. Back home to fried tenderloin biscuits, grits and brown gravy and scrambled eggs. UMMM Good. Now TV and stay inside.
Mornin' Fellas.Busy weekend. Got the BMW back on Friday... no more headaches with that please! The new brakes for the Murano arrived on Friday as well, so spent Saturday morning putting new brakes (front and rear) on the Murano as well as rotated the tires (I did this as part of the brake project, not as a separate project as my FiL thought I would). While taking it out for the test drive I stopped by the LTS to check on my pre-order. The new NPC GP35 powered and non-powered units were in as well as the holiday house and one of the NPC girder bridges. Now I need to figure out what I need to purchase to power the under-the-tree layout. I have a KW and a TMCC Cab1 and Base. I know I need something else but can't remember what it is... is it the power master bridge, and if so do I need one per loop?Eventually I will get a ZW-L and transition the modern ZW to the Christmas layout. I don't think I will get a Legacy Command Base and CAB2 for it as I only run this for a month or so a year... at most I may get one of the newer Cab1 setups, but from what I read in the Signature Catalog you can only program one engine as 99 and one train/track as 99 - is that true?

Good morning all,
Went to store early this morning and picked up our turkey for Thanksgiving. I was looking for a 12 to 14 pounder but wound up with a 17 Lb so should be plenty of left overs. Also picked up some oysters for making a stew this week. They were on sale but not cheap. Never are anymore.
Yesterday I went to the Cal Stewart Train show here in Ontario, California near the Ontario Airport. Second year at this location. TTOS says they were priced out of the convention center in Pasadena so had to move. People like V8 and others on the West side of L.A. or San Fernando Valley have a much longer drive. However, regarding parking I paid $8 in Pasadena and only $9 at Ontario. Could have just parked across the street for free if I had been alert.
I walked the whole show but did not find anything that I wanted or needed. No signals to be found and no scale passenger cars as in the past. Only a couple of good modern steam engines but several diesels. I think things got picked over pretty good on Saturday. Attendance looked a lot smaller to me than in years past.
I did buy a print of a large railroad painting by Larry Fisher I think. It was of the Jacksonville, Florida passenger terminal showing passenger trains of ACL, Southern, Seaboard and Florida East Coast. Very colorful! I will hang it in my train room. Got it for half price on the way out the door.
I saw one old friend from Grass Valley California whom I have known since I started buying trains back in the 70's. Also paid a visit to the Carpet Central floor layout run by Richard Keppel but did not participate. I have been part of that in years past but just don't have the energy to do it anymore.
We stopped by the Pomona Fairplex on the way home to take another look at the Big Boy but I did not have my camera with me. They are in the final stages of getting in position to tow it out on to Metrolink in December. They are in a confined corner of the fairground with little room to maneuver. They are doing what I would call a poor man's turntable since they don't have room to make big curves now. They lay down a straight piece of track for a couple hundred feet or so, then move to one end. Then they take heavy fork lift machines and push the track over as far as they can without making too sharp a bend. Then move to that end. They keep doing this back and forth until they get it pointed in the direction that they want to go.
Hope to run my trains today.

Busy this morning at work, but slow this afternoon. Very cold on my lunch walk. Sister called tonight and will be down in Terre Haute with Lucas and his sister's family along with us for Thanksgiving. Could be a nice day. I hope everyone has a good day.
Been cold this weekend. Has not been much over freezing for the last several days.
We went to the Kansas City area Saturday and did some shopping. Stopped by Fred's Train Shop, looked around and ended up getting a few items for the museum exhibit we are putting together.
Got the woodwork assembled for the control panel for the P.E. layout done on Sunday. Going to work on the wiring evenings this week.
The EF seems to be elevated at work. Some really, ah, interesting requests coming through recently.

An easy 3-mile run and weight training workout is how I started off today. The workday was uneventful and I spent about two hours out of the office waiting for a new office member to arrive to the base (his flight was delayed). I watched a little of the MNF game but quickly became disinterested. RG3 is having a horrible season. We had Italian sausage with grapes and roasted sweet potato fries for dinner. We are starting to gear up for our Thanksgiving meal; we are having two families over to join us so we have plenty of food to prepare. Tonight, the wife made some cornbread that she will use in her homemade stuffing (she calls it dressing). Tomorrow I’ll start prepping the turkey.

Mornin' FellasAfter reading Chuck's latest status I'm not sure I want Buckeye doing my status updates for me! Looking forward to Thursday. Hope to get the house cleaned between tonight and tomorrow night so the weekend is quiet. Would like to get the under-the-tree layout out of the basement and get the trees setup this weekend. Not many between now and Christmas this year.

Laz, I'm sorry but being a simi computer illiterate, I'm no good at posting pictures on the internet. However D.Baker did post some of my Big Boy pictures for me on coffeepot.freeforums.net. Maybe you could get on that and check it out. I did go by the fairground today and it looks like they have completed the move from the museum tracks to the Metrolink mainline track connection. A distance of almost a mile using snap track. It's just sitting there now waiting to be picked up next month.

Mr. Chuck - Oops. Kind of reminds me of the time I had the carb. removed from my 8N tractor before I discovered that the gas tank was empty.
My DSL line is weird tonight. I keep losing the connection and getting security certificate errors on the CTT web site. Seems to have settled down for the moment. Think I'll cycle the power on the modem before I turn in tonight - give it an electronic Gibbs slap.
