Happy un-birthday Fife! Have a Yuengs on me :)
Great pic RAY!
Well, 8 hours sucked up the whole day, that's for sure. Got home and goofed off. We had some pizza and I just watched a youtube video interview with the stars of the original 60's show Ultraman. Charlene is taking Kevin to Columbia, MO tomorrow and the in-laws will meet them and take him back to KC for a week. He's packing for the trip. I'll miss him, but he'll have a good time and get spoiled for a week.
TTFN!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Konnichiwa,
We had our usual Sunday morning: Sunday school and church. It’s just after lunchtime here and not much is going on. The wife and youngest child are having naps, the Princess is at the pool, and the older boy and I are hanging out in the house. We’ll probably play some Wii together to pass the time. I would like to be outside building another temporary backyard layout, but it is entirely too hot for that today. Plus, the sun directly over the backyard right now so it would be brutal out there. I also received the latest digital issue of CTT so I probably start reading that today.
AF Ray – That Yankees tractor trailer is awesome. Who makes it?

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a beautiful day. 75 degrees and sunny. Going up to 90.
Today is an easy day. I plan on relaxing and enjoying the weather, I think I'll spend some time outdoors. Lunch and a nap, for sure.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Congratulations Ray on that Little Engineer!! Great photos.

Ray -- Congratulations on the beautiful Grand Child, what a precious gift.

So many roads, so little time.
Good Morning, 85 going to 90 and Sunny.
Ray: Great pictures of you and Patrick. When can I expect the New Lionel Yankee Train to be delivered?
Sounds like you guys are having a blast on the West Coast.
Today it is install a new compass on the boat and add a temperature gauge for the outboard. Then it is train work.
Enjoy the day!
John
Konbanwa,
I'm getting ready to call it a night here. We ended up having some serious downpours this afternoon, so there is no way I could have build a temporary outdoor layout today. I ended up having a very nice, relaxing afternoon.
Chuck - I have eaten deep fried pickles numerous times. They are extremely tasty. They are great dipped in a zesty ranch sauce.
JoeD - It's from The Hamilton Collection, but I don't see it on their site. I won it on ebay. Thanks everyone for the compliments on the pics. He's already being sized for an engineers hat! It's 10:00 and time to head up to the hospital. Carrie and Patrick come home tomorrow.
We have a sunny 75 this morning, going into the Hi 80s today.
Got the grass cut yesterday just in time to go to grandsons birthday party. We sat around talking till dark. Got home in time to chat with Brutus.

Thank, Joe. Our little local eatery, where we get fish fries from, has them on the menu. We will try them.
Morning all. Slept good. Drowsy from sinus meds. Still going to be a good day.
Shake and Bake did get his new electric mower put together. Kay and i had to give supervisory assistance.
Off to train museum and friend's layout.
Have a good one.

Good afternoon all,
Went to TTOS train meet today and picked up an A-B-A set of MTH Southern Railway F3 diesels for a good price. Just got through checking it out at home and everything works. Both A units are powered so I have four motors. Threw a traction tire while running but no biggie. I have more of them. Funny thing is, I bought this same set at York back in the 90's when they were new but had buyers remorse when I got home. I subsequently sold them. Always had second thoughts so now 10 years later I got them back and for a whole lot less money than the first ones.
I see the sunshine boys are still at it. Now they are building lawn mowers. Hope you guys are having fun. Sounds like you might have gone to see the layout that Don's friend is working on. Would that be Bob?
Chief, I'm adding another engine with a Southern name to my layout. I think my reb cover is blown.
later,
SPMan
Chuck,
The pickles, as Joe said, are great!!!
Good Evening...Got to 88F here..and, of course, with 75% humidity felt more like 100F...back to heat and stick...yuck.We just spent the day indoors under the A/C. No sense going out with everything that needed done already done earlier in the week...Have a good one!!
Good evening all,
Lousy day all around. Sato loses top 10 finish on restart crash that collected him. TCGR won again. Cory Monteith of Glee passed away. Long week at work ahead as well. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Email from the contractor today and we got the price down a couple hundred bucks - I think they will start on Thursday. After that, we just need the carpet and a few things to install like the toilet and sink. These guys will put in the floor in the bathroom, so put in the fixtures after that. It's starting to feel real to me
Chuck - if you read this, please know that I too enjoy the fried pickles. They are very good while they are hot. The ones we get at Texas Roadhouse are dill and come with a great sauce. Bon apetit!
Mid 80's again today. A little cooler than usual for this time of year - no complaints, though.
AF53 - Congrats on your new young one!
Got the elliptical upstairs, assembled and operational today. Nope, it is not going to leave that room without disassembly! Didn't pull anything in the process, either.
A used ZW has shown up at the LHS. It is very dirty, but all of the controls move as they should, though not too smoothly. It is a safe bet that it needs to be opened up and cleaned.
Are there any checks I can make on a ZW with a volt - ohm meter without plugging it in? Looking at the schematics, it looks like there should be continuity between all of the U terminals, about 60 ohms between the U terminals and the short light, continuity between A,B,C, and D, or any combination of them if the controls are not set to off. Individually, it looks like I should also see continuity between the A post and the U post if only the A control is on, and the same for B, C, and D. Guess I'd also ought to check between the base plate and the binding posts. If I see continuity there, there might be a short in one of the windings?
All for now.
I had a nice 4-mile run this morning; however, the humidity did suck all the fluids out of me. I then had a non-eventful day for work. I believe I will be grilling some chicken for dinner tonight, but I need to do that soon since it appears we’re about to have a thunderstorm.
Ray – Thanks for the info. What scale is it?
Chuck – Let us know how those pickles turn out.
It is a sunny and clear 74 degrees. It is gonna get hot today. 88 degrees.
Today is a busy day. I have a project to work on and the usual chores. I wantto spend a little time outside this morning before it gets hot. Then, a nice lunch and a nap.
Friday we will try the deep fried pickles with our fish fry.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Good MorningWe be going up to 87F feeling like 106F later on..oh joy...oh bliss...good thing we have the A/C going here....Today, however I need to get some hay cutting, I mean grass mowing done...again. I swear I can even hear the dang stuff growing at night....sheesh. So, better be off and do this...Have a good one!!
Good Morning, it is 84 and 80% humidity already. it is going into the 90's all week!
Today it is some running around helping Doray get ready for the Ice Cream Festival. They are tearing down the small house about a 1/2 block away from me that was severly damaged by 2 huge oak trees during Sandy. As luck would have it the guy who lived there was not at home when it happened.
Fife: I will get the link for the Ice Cream Festival and the Boat Show. Johnsson is trying to get assigned patroling the festival. lol
Prayers for all in need.
We have a sunny 77, going into the 90s everyday till Saturday.
Shopping this morning, nap later.
No train news. A chat with Brutus last night.
On a PW ZW all U post are connected. There should not be a meter reading with the handles on off. I cannot conform the other readings.
Aloha. Back at work in a sunny and hot Chicago. After working at church Sat and Sun, I took the youngest to the local historical society for their 'fest' - he found an original GameBoy for $1. Boy, was it 'huge.' It was so hot, we soon escaped to a local ice cream parlor. It's always Ice Cream Week here. This week I'll prep for going up to the UP with the youngest for camp. Ray, congrats on the new 'grand'!

Good Monday Morning All!
I want to thank everyone for the congas on the new grandson. New life in the family is always a good thing. Carrie was scheduled to come home today but they have pushed it until tomorrow.
Fife - As to which he will be raised on, two or three rails? Why, both of course! Pre-War American Flyer was both. To be honest, he will probably have a taste of Flyer, Lionel and Marx.
JoeD - The Yankee Tractor trailer's scale if 1:64. Perfect for Flyer.
Later....
