Konnichiwa,

Today’s high is around 97, so I took care of cutting the grass before 1000.  After that, the two boys and I went for a bike ride around the base.  We took our time and also stopped at a playground so the youngest could stretch his legs.  However, we were out about 90 minutes or so and by the time we were finished we were pretty tired from the heat.  I believe we’ll spend the next few hours indoors.

Brent – I’m sorry about Eddie.  I’ll keep him, his family, and you in my prayers.

8N – Don’t hurt yourself with that elliptical machine.  It would be a shame for it to collect dust due to your pulling something getting it into the house. Dunce

Congratulations Ray!

Sayonara,

Joe

Back to the palace.  Just laughed my behind off.  Kay just put Don in his place and I agree. LaughLaughLaugh  So funny.

Enjoyed Dougsnotagrump and the visit to the Museum and car show.  The Mexican restaurant was out  standing.

Must admit Shake and Bake is a great taxi driver.

Tired so off to bed.

Mornin' boys.  Still soggy in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Fifepup took me to Hooters yesterday.  He interviewed for a job while there.  He's also selling AVON on the side.

AF53 - Huge CONGRATS on the grandson!  Will he be brought up 2-rail, or 3...?

dbaker - Hope those roof tiles are fastened down tight....

I think it's so cool our Westies are getting together.  Please post lots of pics.  Chief, I'm jealous, but in a good way.

Good Morning All!

After a long day yesterday my daughter, Carrie, gave birth at 7:49pm to a 9lbs 1oz, 20.5 inches baby boy, Patrick. Mom and dad are doing well.

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!! Mountain Lakes Train store is going to have some new business.

I had a dream nightmare last night.Zzz  I dreamed that the Chief was in California and he had a dump truck.  He backed the truck up to a swimming pool owned by Don Baker and the bed lifted.  Tons of grits were dumped into this beautiful pool.Paradise Then the California EPA declared Don's pool a toxic waste site and we had to wear white suits. They put the Chief in cuffs and let him away to Alcatraz. Left Hug THE END.Mischief

Good morning! An overcast day at the Shore.

The Big News around here is Carrie's Baby Patrick. Ray is a Proud Grandpa. We are busy getting ready for the NJ State Ice Cream Festival next Saturday. We have the secret flavor that we are hoping will take first place. Hint, it was one that we had at York!

You West Coast Guys sound like us Easterners at York! Enjoy yourselves.

Banks: Prayers for Terry.

Brent: Hope you feel better and prayers for Eddie and his Family.

Fife/Rich: I would like to get together. Next weekend is the Ice Cream Festival  in Downtown Toms River and I help Doray set up and take down. The plus about this besides the Ice Cream and Food is the Wooden/Classic Boat Festival a Block away on the River. Maybe shoot for August?

Have a Great Day!

Hey There!

This has been one good trip!  Old Shake and Bake has turned out to be a fantastic host!  I don't know how I ever could have been so wrong about someone.  He is intelligent, considerate, trust worthy and a real nice guy.  With people like this no wonder the Yankees One, he obviously comes from good stock.  He sure is wearing me down, don't know how I can keep up with him much longer.  I would gladly give up all them ol grits and sweet Ice Tea for the healtful culture benefits of So. Ca!!

Good Morning!

Awesome news on the baby!  Congratulations!!!!!

Happy Birthday Fife!!  Happy B-DayCake

Chuck- Looks like the property values will be really going up, possibly taxes, UGH

The visit to Ray's was great, and really good to see V8Vega.  Couldn't have been better, great trains, layout, cookies, cold drinks, good people.

Layout in San Diego was overwhelming!  The best layout I've ever seen.  Doug went way beyond showing us around, fantastic dinner, and tremendous car show.  This has been a great week so far.

As I expected the plan is working, I've noticed the Chief becoming more and more relaxed, he has seemed to be a little delirious on occasion.  Asking, Hey do you thimk that restaurant sells grifs?  Or even Cream of Wheat?  I keep encouraging him we will find some, somewhere.  I noticed this morning he is happier when he is using the computer and posting.  Strange but OK!

Today I have planned 1 chore, then some sightseeing;

- The AQMD has a promotion going on for a lawnmower exchange.  Bring your gas mower in and they will exchange it for an electric rotary.  (Black & Decker, 18" w 36hr battery $350).  My mower is 25 year old reel, and no parts are available anymore.  And, it needs a clutch & spring.  So going to trade it, the location is at Angels Stadium (?).  So going to do that!

- Then out to the Riverside National Cemetery to see the "Medal of Honor" memorial, it is awesome.

- Then to the March AFB, Air Museum.  www.marchfield.org/

- And the Orange Empire Rail Museum.  http://www.oerm.org/

So will be a busy day.

Now I will jack his computer.

Gives me this old broken laptop that Kay will not use as it erases what you type and curser jumps all over place.

So cloudy and foggy.  Does the sun ever shine at Shake and Bakes'?  Have to go to Doug's to see sun.

Shake and Bake here.  I lied.  Chief is the greatest guy in the world.  None better.  I really want him to accept me into the REBS.  It would be honor.  Then I could really get Buckeye.  Also tease Chuck about how bad his aim is with the snow cannon.  Now for a big bowl of grits Chief brought.  Thumbs Up

See, the truth comes out.

Happy Birthday Fifey  Happy B-Day

Ray, congrats.

Now for a big bowl of grits.

OH, Don's computer is now showing blank page after posting.  Been bragging his didn't.

After siting on the throne for about two hours, I realized that all of us have interpreted Chief's trip to California  incorrectly.  Just think about it!! What would be the best thing for the Town of Roseyville? Question  The Chief is in California to discuss with Disney a new theme park for Roseyville!!!! Cool Disneyland is going to move to Roseyville!!! Wow The Chief will have his own train to run.   The town dump will be come the new Matterhorn.  The swamp will be the Jungle Boat ride.  It all makes sense now!!Mischief

Tried getting on earlier, but the iPad says "too many redirects", what's that all about?

we currently have two three year olds potty training.  It is actually going well, but the older ones want to get a puppy...yeah I can see this, three getting house trained at once!

just hoping to not get called in. Hope each of you has a blessed day!

Mornin'/Afternoon All.

Fife, Just because we grow older doesn't mean we have to growup. Beer

Roseyville Rascal & Shake-n-Bake, That walking around after supper must have worked, got on the scale this morning expecting I would end up getting a call from CardioCom but lo-n-behold the weight was down slightly. Whistling Surprise of the evening was seeing a hotrod there with NC license plates, and I thought we would get in trouble with some of the car owners, Don was doing a lot of drooling with some of the cars he saw. Laugh

Looking forward to their next trip down this way. Thumbs UpThumbs Up

Later all, I'm still tired.

Good morning all,

Congratulations AF53 Ray and happy actual birthday to Patrick.

Happy birthday also to FifeHappy B-Day and Buckeye if I missed him.

Finally got my Honda back yesterday from the paint shop.  Wow!  Looks like a new car.  Only a couple of minor things.  They painted over the key holes and I saw one small buff mark near the windshield.  Have to check with V8 Dennis to see how to clean up those key holes.  Don't want to mess with it and affect surrounding paint.  Might take it back when I feel like it.  I'm enjoying the car too much right now after driving my old car for 5 days without air.

Glad the Chief and Don had a good day yesterday with Dougnotagrump in San Diego.  Hard to tell which one of them is posting sometimes after some of the benevolent things they are saying about each other.  Hope they have a good day at the Perris Railway Museum.  Lots of things to look at out there and you can ride on stuff too.  That plane museum at March AFB sounds like fun too.  Have to check that one out myself.

My #1 son and family are back from their trip to Lake Tahoe and should be picking up the pet bird today.  Will be glad not to have to baby sit him anymore.  The bird is entertaining sometimes.  We put down a kleenex on the table yesterday and he would sit on it like a nest and swish his bottom back and forth like the chicken dance.  Don't know if that was mating practice or what?  He's funny!

Going to Mass tonight so I can go to train meet tomorrow at TTOS.  Heard that the long time auctioneer over there passed away recently. R.I.P.

Hot weather is with us again but seasonal.  Not like the heat wave we had a while back.

later,

Ray

Wellll, I appreciate all the Birthday wishes.  Thank you.  It's not my birthday.  If you're a NASCAR fan, we lost Davey Allison 20 years ago.  But, since I've never announced my D.O.B., or celebrated it here, today is as good as any, so I'll hoist a Beer to all my Coffee Pot brethern.  Thanks again.

Hudson - Never been to Toms River.  And I do like your wifey's lemon and pineapple ice cream....  Perhaps a day trip next weekend.  Gimme directions.

What fun catching up with all the goings on!  Sure enjoyable to read about that rascal Chief and Don, simply having fun -- would enjoy seeing some pics!

We welcomed home this afternoon our National Guard soldiers who have been cleaning up Afghanistan as we head toward the exits.  About 90 young male and female warriors who have been gone for a year giving their all, it's so good to have them home.  Watching them reunite with their families defies description.

Not much new on the train front.  We did a massive repaint and carpet of the train rooms in May and it's just a joy to go down there now, it's like a new room.

The old feet are tired, standing on concrete for three hours is becoming more difficult but still worth it.

Good Afternoon: 85 and Sunny.

Just got done cutting the front grass. Taking a quick brake and then it is cut the "weeds" in the back. Can't call it grass! lol

You Guys are having a Great Time over at the Left Coast.

Fife: I knew what you were refering to but we will make today your BIRTHDAY! Happy Birthday! Happy B-Day I will message you with all of the details for next Saturday. That would be great to get together. Maybe we can get Rich and Ray if we can get him away from Patrick! We can also hunt down Johnsson and harrass while he is on patrol.

Have a Great Day

Help!  Help!  Shake and Bake has tried to kill me and Buckeye paid him to try. Tongue Tied How?  Because he drug me through the desert with heat and no water. Crying  Won though. Cool

Shake and Bake took me to breakfast at a restaurant that had GRITS.  Photos to follow. Thumbs Up

Great day securing an electric lawnmower for $100.  Turn in old gas one and get electric.  Only thing is, why do you need a lawnmower when you have a spot of grass as big as a band aid?  Whistling

Then we went out into the desert.  To the Air Force base museum and then to the Orange County Railroad Museum.

Better go help him assembly this mower.  He'll have the blades on top. Laugh

Then off to find a shower.

Good evening all,

Did yard work all day long.  Listened to Indycar race on radio while watching US beat Cuba 4-1 in a World Cup qualifying game.  Terrible race.  Sato was dead last for AJ, Newgarden was next to for Sarah, and TCGR was 1 and 3 with Dixon winning again. Only good news was Simona had a top 10 finish.  Congrats to Ray on new grandson.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
