Good morning. It's 65 and raining. Chance for rain is 70% this morning decreasing to 60% this afternoon. I'll be getting the second half of the grocery shopping done today then I'll settle in and go through this collection of old rolling stock that was sent to me. Primarily I'll be seeing which pieces I want to keep. Some of them are too old for my general era. I have no use for stock cars and wood side reefers including two Dairymen's League refrigerator cars that are missing only the brake wheels. The ones I want to keep will be going to the shop to be fitted with Kadee couplers and if needed serviceable trucks. These trucks will be taken from the cars I don't want. Yesterday my father and I were trying to get the OnStar system on my mother's car working. No dice. It seems OnStar isn't available here.

Morning. Got up early and could not go back to sleep. Then started watching predator hunting on TV. Got sleepy and slept for a few hours. Wifey has cooked brakfast.
Thanks for all the good wishes. Wifey and I are wondering. I had told Dennis earlier, "Wonder if this Dr. is just trying to get ins. money?" Now we wonder more. Was this an unnecessary procedure? Oh well.
Now to eat, shower and hang out. Dr. said light duty today due to "wound".
Again, thanks for the prayers and good wishes. That is why it turned out good.
Later.
PS: read this article. Guess who the private citizen is? A guy with 67 acre lease and a 2 acre pond. He's been involved in this since the controversy started.

Konbanwa,
It was 19˚F when I went out for my three-mile run this morning. It felt great and I had a terrific run. The faster paced music (135-160 BPM) makes it easier to run faster without thinking about it. I had a busy Friday at the office but I was still able to get home at a decent time. The wife made homemade stromboli for dinner which was delicious. I ran the trains with the kids and then read some books with them. I also built and knocked over some dominos with the youngest. I have plenty of chores and schoolwork to finish tomorrow so I am going to bed early tonight.
Chief - I'm glad you are doing well and that you received a great report from the hospital.
Bob - No worries, you're helping me out. Shoot me the info when you have time.
Tardis crew - Look for my beacon tonight.

Hello all
Just a quick slurp of coffee tonight. Visit to Phoenix w/ my friend was good. Met a guy w/ another Corvair panel van. Found a buyer for the MG. Found a place to live in Safford. May have found someone to take over the place here. Tomorrow I haul the MG to Phoenix to it's new home.
Glad to hear Chief is OK!
Joe D. - will be getting back to you on the 1664 soon.

Chief......... on your tests. You must have bought all of the answers in advance off of RT and Dennis. Seriously, the news was good; and I hope you are back to your tricks in short order.

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Time for me to call it a night. I posted photos of my new (used) rolling stock in the HO board of my forum so my members can see them. Forum policies here prohibit me from post a link to them as it would be construed as 'advertising' my forum. Sorry. See y'all tomorrow.
Good news, Chief, glad your heart is okay!
Having a crappy week - wife's crown failed, weird stuff at work, other stuff, and just plain stuff. Oh well, it will all even out in time. Got some new train magazines in the mail, so that's cool.
Mike - please pick me up tonight, I'm ready for some Tardis fun and banilla!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Buckeye Riveter Chuck...It is about time we start planning a raid to Texas.
Come on down!
Buckeye Riveter I have used suitcase connectors for years on the layout and maybe I've had two that didn't work
Well certainly they work when you solder them in!
Somwhat warm today. Maybe winter is gonna bypass us this year?
Long day today - tired.
Have a great day tomorrow all!
Regards, Roy
Good evening everyone. Had a long day to include an emergency case. All went well and I finally got home. Took family out for dinner as it is the first time in several days we got to eat together. As we were walking in the door, got a great phone call from the Chief filling me in on his great news! Must have good genes and he must be obeying the doctor's orders and taking his meds. Glad the bypasses are clear.
Ray, yes, we try to have patients up the next day. Also want them doing their breathing treatments to keep from getting CHF(congestive heart failure). The sooner you complete ambulatory and full respiratory quotient, the sooner you can leave the hospital. Good luck to your friend.
RT, if you are interested, you can get a blueray player for well under 100 dollars with WiFi. Then, you can pick up a receiver for not too much money that you can plug the blueray player into so you can watch Netflix.
Well, I am exhausted. Pray that each of you has a blessed night.
Dennis

Today I got a big box in the mail. Inside, packed wall to wall in two layers were twenty-seven freight cars. Tyco, Life-Like, Mantua, AHM, AHM/Roco, AHM/Mehano and maybe a couple of Athearn cars. Most have horn hooks, some have Fleischmann couplers and trucks with pizza cutters that could cut two pizzas one on top of the other. The flanges are HUGE! I've only had time so far to ID one car, a Tyco Red Box 50' New Haven boxcar in near mint condition. Before I could ID any more my parents insisted I show up for dinner. Wasn't a total loss. Steaks and rice in a heavy beef gravy, sliced carrots with jalapenos, green beans, french bread. Good stuff.Hey, I have enough KO&G boxcars now to make a little fleet. I started with one, I now have eight!I'll have a list of the cars up when I've ID'd them. Some are way too old for my general era.
Good news Chief, Happy to hear your home and relaxing.
34 right now, not getting much colder than that overnight. I shall wait for the thingy and see who shows tonight..S.J.
Great news Chief. The Lord be praised. Went to see my friend in pre op today and spent about two hours with him. Surgery is sceduled for 8:00AM tomorrow morning. His spirits are good but he's not getting much rest with all the traffic from hospital personel in and out of his room. He said they woke him up about every two hours last night for various things. His room mate had heart surgery yesterday and he was up walking the hall today. I guess they try to get you going right away.
Just another day in paradise today here in Sunny Southern Cal. I guess our Winter must be over. Condolences to you guys in the arctic states.
Thanks for the prayers for my friend,
Ray

Afternoon All.
Great news Chief ! When I had my heart issues it really surprised some of my former vendors, they always swore I never had one.
Salvation Army just came by and picked up a bunch of stuff, including the munchkin's two Little Tykes yard structures that he has outgrown. The third one was to far gone to be safe so it will either go for recycling, if it can be, or the dump.
Everything packed and ready for the museum tomorrow. Saturday will be getting everything ready for the "Super Bowl Hen Party". Just to clarify, I know there are some puzzled looks right now, it is essentially a cancer survivor hen party that started several years ago.
Prayers for all in need.
Looks like some rather nasty weather heading east, stay safe all.

Doctor appointment went well. As I figured it was just a rehash of the lab results from last time. He wants to see me again in two months. I have another appointment on the 7th of this month with the foot doc, again. Don't know right off what I'll do with the rest of the day. There was something called 'Kansas Pacific' being recorded on the DVR this morning. Figure I can watch that. Also got 'The Dirty Dozen' begging to be watched.
