Another bright sunny day Laz, Some of the neighbors came by for breakfast, See below. Mom ma is still sleeping and the cat is back inside. Nothing much going on but going to get groceries later. Banks, I had to get Ins approval before they started on this crown. They will only pay 50% of the cheapest crown known to man so I will be picking up the lion’s share of this one. The dentist quoted me at $970.00 for this porcelain over gold crown. I will be stuck for about $600.00 of that.

Sorry about the sprinkles Roy.
Jack I was reading somewhere that they took those toxic temp trailers left over from Katrina and sold them off for southern train layout boxes and doghouses. The ones that did not sell were dismantled and the parts were used for southern medical supplies. E.g. southern bypass surgery. They wanted to keep the money they spent in the southern states.
In my case they used the traditional lidocaine local anesthesia two needles full in the jaw. It is my understanding that Jeffery would not dispense any of the Eagles Nest moonshine above the M.D. line. It may have been better.
SP Ray, Good news on your friend and sad to hear about the other one.
Buckeye I want an invite to the Cabela’s grand opening if Chief is going to be there.
Joe, I guess if you want winter this year you have to go to Europe.
Jeffery send that stuff to Roy.
Later,
Kev.

Well the idea of using dry transfers to renumber the KO&G cars didn't pan out. I've had these transfers since the late 80's and they just crumbled as they were applied. So instead I printed some random sets of numbers starting with 2525 on ordinary white paper, some in 8 point arial, others in 6 point arial. When applied they look like black numbers painted on white planks attached to the sides of the cars. I'm sure the KO&G never numbered cars in this way but seeing as the KO&G never had reefers in the first place why should I be accurate. It works for me and that's all I need it to do. Car numbers are 2525, 2626, 2529, 2527, 2625.
Aloha . Sunny and cool - love to see the sun! Glad you are taking care of yourself, Chief. Cleaning around the house today. FiL for dinner tonight. Little niece continues to recover nicely at home

Good morning toy train affectionados...
Damp here and trying to rain. Jeffrey - doing my best to hold it here.
Kev - looks like Thanksgivng came early to your house.
Chief - Jack - the advantage to those FEMA trailers is the level of formaldehyde ensures an elevated level of self pickling
I now have three gold crowns on the left side molars - told my son I was working around towards the front until I have a complete gold grill - he just groaned. What kind of reaction was that?
LAZ - just like my HS senior son - you are counting down.
Have a great day all!

I was able to do some weathering today. The Matte Finish as acting a little strange but not much.
This is what can happen when Matte Finish 'whites out' due to high humidity. Note the KO&G car behind the L&A car.

Evening all. Got the Rec Center all decorated for the Sweet Heart Ball tonight. I heard that one Yankee on his Gator [we've seen his picture on his Gator that he posted]. Got his formals on and riding the Gator all the way to Roseyville.
Has IL plates on the back. [hope his wife does not see this photo of him with his GF]
Now to get ready for the shrimp, meatballs, veggies and cupcakes. More 'heart" food. Think there may be some "Ripple" for drinking.
Been extra warm out today. Wifey been digging and etc. Now she can hardly talk. Trying to out do me.

Kevin.....I would certainly welcome another CTT member for the Cabela's Grand Opening if the Chief is going to attend.
100% ----- Everyone of my locomotives is running perfect. Fixed the last traction tire today. Everything is smoking, blinking, honking, talking, roaring, chugging, whinning, whistling and squealing as designed. Years ago I decided to go with TMCC and the worst problem I have is traction tires. I have leaned not to slam them into reverse.
My favorite hockey team is the worst in the NHL. I have seen better hockey on farm ponds.

Worse than the Hurricanes???? Mayors have box seats for the game Monday night. Will be the first live hockey game I've seen in years. I usually stay home. VIP parking with free food and drink so I'm going.

OMG Chief why did you go and post that picture of the Gator. Did you forget that my wife has my password to the PC? Well I was reading the Pot when she started into the room and I happened to have the camera on the desk. She was yelling something about the guy did not look like me but she thought she recognized the gal on the back and she was mumbling something about not getting anything but a freaking card for valentine’s day. Anyway here is what I saw when she came in the room.

I started to watch the LPGA this afternoon but the USA girls were not doing well so they were not showing them play. I guess the producers think the leaders are our only interest...OGR arrived yesterday but I have only paged through it..S.J.

OMG Chief, regarding "Ripple", is that the wine by the same name? I remember that stuff from almost 50 years ago. Went down like soda pop but gave you quite a buzz. A home owner who had their house offered for sale, plied us with Ripple. Next thing I knew, I owned the place. That was my first house. That was the last time I ever drank Ripple. Enjoy the hockey game and stay away from the gators with the big mamas on back.

Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI (for those who have not been on the forum and as a refresher, this stands for It IS Another Beautiful Sunny Day In South Eastern Indiana, where the philosophy of life is based on the concept that while anyone can be a US citizen, only a few of us were lucky to be born "Hoosiers" ). Posted Friday afternoon and four pages later on a Saturday night, I am posting again. We do like to chat here. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Wife and I went to see "Ghostrider 2" last night. Not quite in the same religious vein as what Dennis W. does, but still there was some redemptive qualities as well. Did housework before going to the movie. Movie was ok, maybe not as good as the first, but it was entertaining. Spent Saturday running errands and taking down temporary Standard gauge layout. The people I used on the layout and other items are much too tempting to the youngest grandchild, who is all of 1 1/2. Should be some compensating train running as we will be giving daughter a Coca Cola train set, which we had gotten off Amazon for a really good price. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast this morning. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Evening all!
Good news here - been raining all day since my last post. Should fill the lakes that were suffering.
Bad news - it is headed for Jeffrey....
I'm calling it a night early. It's still raining here. See y'all tomorrow.
Had a ball at the Ball. Was a great sucess. Great food too. I stayed with the "house punch" and no ripple. Wifey sounds worse than me now. No voice.
Kev, now that is a real lady. Love a lady who knows a weapon. My Wifey will not touch one. Her protection is my family's Reb Civil War sabre she keeps by her bed. Says if anyone breaks in and I'm gone, when "he" runs at her, she will point it at "him" and "he" would stab "himself". I'd prefer to put holes in him before he gets that close. Let him bleed on the floor and not the bed covers.
Off to the weather and snohio in the forecast.
Sleep tight.

Chief.......what about the Roseyville Reb's guard dogs? Don't they get the first shot at putting holes in the bad guy? They could eliminate all of the hassles of police investigations, obnoxious defense lawyers, inexperienced and overworked District Attornies, trials, convictions, appeals, and the fear of recrimmination, all without wasting one round of ammo.
To tell you the truth, my wife would send ME into harms way before she would put her precious dog in danger. In the dog's defense, he would give me ample advanced warning of an intruder and would want the first pass at the intruders. Somehow it seems strange to me that she would hold him in reserve as the second line of defense instead of me.

Chuck.....Today is the day.
Mornin' boys. Expecting snow today in the Mid-Atlantic region.
cheapclassics Now I get it. After watching the Shoot-Out last night, I got tired of 24-7 Danica. Hope this isn't the sign of things to come with FOX.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a clear 30 degrees. Going up to 50 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. A few chores and then, relax. I plan on running trains for a few hours. Do a little dusting. And , of course, the afternoon nap.
Buckeye....Happy Birthday. February 19th.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.

Konbanwa,
It was a pleasant Sunday for us. The Princess and I went to church this morning, but the wife stayed home with the boys. The older son has been a little sick so we decided not to have him around a bunch of other kids. We lazed around the house the rest of the day and played games and watched movies. I have some schoolwork to finish and then will be off to bed.
Kev - We considered a trip to Europe around Christmas bud decided to pass. I was hoping to take the kids to Mt. Fuji tomorrow to do some sledding at one of the lower stations, but we probably will not go if the older son is not 100% better. I hope your wife calmed down. You better give her a
Happy Birthday Buckeye!

Good morning. It's 45° and cloudy. The high will be 62° and it will be partly cloudy. This morning we have a ten mph north wind and no rain in sight. This morning I have no cars to weather. I do however have an old Tyco Red Box New Haven boxcar that I have no use for and absolutely don't like the looks of. I have an Athearn blue box C&EI double door boxcar body in search of a frame. The Athearn boxcar body is the same length as the Tyco boxcar body. Hmm, I wonder. I may have a rolling C&EI boxcar before the day is out. If I feel up to it today I'll go out and see if I can do some work on the automatic choke on my van. The van has an old-fashioned dumb non-electronic two barrel carburetor with an old-fashioned vacuum operated non-electronic automatic choke. Should be easy to work on right? Well so far it's got me thinking I should be teaching astrophysics to an ant colony. It might be easier and more rewarding.

Jeffery you are right. Should be easy to work, there is nothing to them.
Depending on what style of choke operator your carb has. Exhaust manifold draw styles can have rust overtake the draw tube and fills up the Exhaust Manifold where the tube pulls the heat from or the carb suction port gets clogged with carbon then you can get into a lot of work. Or if it pulls heat off of the intake center cross port and it is clogged then you have to remove the intake to clean it out so it will get hot enough to heat the spring up that pulls the chock off. This style in not a vacuum style system. They make an easy to install electric one. You can just put on the side and wire up to any hot spot that carries 15 amps or so when the key is on that will fit on the ones with the round side spring under the cover that fits on the side of the carb. For the ones with the heat draw from the intake center cross port just jet a manual cable pull choke.
What kind of carb do you have. Here is a link to one for an AFB
