Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....

It is a cold and frosty 22 degrees. Going up to 38 today with some sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have a big project to work on and a few chores. I will be busy most of the day, except for my nap, of course. That's one of the best things about being retired.. A nap !!!

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Mornin' boys.  Nice start to the week, weather -wise.  Demay can keep all that snow in Tokyo (actually made the news on the east coast).  Youngest princess had yardMax duty yesterday.  Afterwards, she said we need to stop feeding him so much...

18 this morning at 7:30. 21 now and the temps will rise and remove the sno- before I can get the dog team hitched up. I picked up a couple Plasticville parts on the cheap yesterday but scored no big prize. I did see a NIB Harry Potter set without track or transformer for $99.00..S.J.

Konbanwa,

The workday went fine and nothing too exciting happened.  We had chicken fajitas for dinner and didn't do much of anything else.  I am off to bed early tonight.

Fife - I'll gladly take any snow you can send.

Jeffrey - It took some time to get to the point where I would say such words about running.  However, I understand your situation is much different.  Just do what you can physically, but the great thing is your is very active.

I completed short video of some of the UTB RR layout action.  I attached it below but please don't laugh at my poor camera and video skills.  Also please remember the Flip Video camera is not the best equipment, but it does a great job for the price.

Sayonara,

Joe

Good morning. It's 38° and mostly cloudy. The high will be 70° and it will be partly sunny.

Today's project is to get the FP7's to the paint shop. They're long overdue. The road names need to be painted out and the L&A logo applied. Other than that there will be some more layout cleanup being done. Amazing how fast little things pile up.

Hi GUYZ,

26 here and cold.  Took my gal MINNIE for a two walks already and ran a nice 3 miler again today.  Yesterday took MINNIE to the rails to trails and we did a 3 miler.  Great fun, with her running ahead of me.  Always brings a smile to my face to see her bounding like a deer running down the bed.  Got P/T conferences today, last one forever, boy that sounds good.

ROY, I'll be there with WIFE on Friday all day.  Maybe we'll do breakfast again with the gang, at Dennys?

JOE D., nice job on the layout.  Keep on playing with those trains.

DON, LOL very good SIR.

Stay frosty,

Aloha Paradise and happy Monday. Grey and cold. Spent Sat. with my young nephew and niece. Sunday worked as video director at church, then took my wife to see the musical Legally Blonde. It was really well don. What a lot to read this morning!

Jeffrey, great work on the F9s. I am impressed on any innards-work in the smaller scales. I can barely handle popping the lid on O gauge trains.
SubmmBob, my heartiest congrats on the new job!  I can relate to your fixin' though mine don't seem to work after my tinkering. Wink
DennisW, hope your back is Ok today. Colin, hope you feel better too!
Buckeye, glad you're home safe after the Great Raid.
DonB Big Smile
Kev, yeah, not sure what's up with those skulls showing up at the side of the road on the other side of town, though they were bleached pretty well ...
DennisV8, I love the Rose Parade. Can't believe there's a quarter of a million flowers on one float!
RT, welcome back! Hope this 'puter works out.
Roy, congrats on the closing. Hope it went smoothly.
Demay, a nice 'night-time' video, Joe. Those Flip cameras are great. Ours fits neatly in a troublesome truck for a trip around the layout.
Brutus, welcome  back. Glad you caught up on your sleep.

Joe, was that Godzilla picking up that combine in the video??  Surprise

Got an e-mail yesterday from Ken Koehler (lioneltransformer.com)the guy working on the transformer I got from Chief about the problems it had.

"Hi Kevin, I spent time working on your ZW today because of the challenge, it was something different! I will finish tomorrow and will be ready for pick-up Tues or any time suitable for you!"

Bet it had something to do with a mixture of Sweet Ice Tea and GRITS. Angry Whisper

Still it will work out great, Thanks again Chief. Wow  Yeah

Jeffrey, your reference to a decoder in an engine is what?  Does it have something to do with DCC?  I have been out of HO for several decades now so I'm not aware of all the advances made over the years.  I started out with a Varney "screwdriver kit" about 1959, then dabbled in PFM and Athearn.  Of course back then everything was conventional control.  A friend of mine has a large club size layout in his house and it's a wonder watching it run with all the modern sounds etc.  I think they even have dynamic brake sounds when the engines are going down grade.  Nice work on your F units.

Back from lake house.  Two expensive items gone from under shelter.  Both were out of normal sight and inside the fence.  Had to be somone who was around the Box.  Buckeye may get extradited. Surprise No, number one suspects are mobile home movers.  Other items under there were not disturbed.  Some in plain sight.

Off to a reception.  Later.

Yes, the decoder is a reference to DCC control. The decoders I use allow for motor and light control. I've been into model trains since 1964 and into HO since 1966.

Wow Jeffery you have been into model trains since you were three years old and HO since you were 5 years old then. That is amassing. I got my first trains when I was six but dad and my uncle did all of the hard stuff. Heck I don’t even remember being five years old. Wink

4 and 5. I was born halfway through 1960. I had a couple of battery operated trains before 1964 but I generally don't count them. My first two electric sets were a Marx set (1964) with a E8 A/B set, boxcar, gondola, auto carrier, caboose and oval of 027 track. The second set was a Lionel Double Diesel (1965) with a Lionel SF A/A F unit set, boxcar, auto carrier, gondola, caboose and oval of 027 track. I had several other O Scale sets after that but they were either sold or traded.

Evenin' fellas and gals:    Been readin' a lot but not much postin'. As you might know, got a hand thing goin' on.   Anyway glad to see everything is pretty much the same on the "pot".   Laz; that Springfield is a "doozy" !  Favorite rifle, shot many a "target" with it; of course that would be with "The Rough Riders" a hundred years ago; or so it seems.   Jack;   Heard Pat's coach speak today for the first time, even saw him smile a little. Kinda creepy lookin'. Then it dawned on me; he looks like Hitler beore he grew a mustache!   Well, we all know how that one ended.  Step right up gentleman, step right up, be glad to take your money.     Hey Chief;   Here tell those naw'thern carpetbaggers  hornswaggled you with that old heat pump scam.   I guess P.T. Evening all,

Fife: She was trying to get me to go to school for journalism. That was strike one. She didn't want me becoming a police officer because "it's too dangerous." She didn't have a problem with police officers when we were dating, but I'm under the assumption that the parties that she has attended have been busted before (she's still underage) so she's probably a little upset at them. I told her before it's not worth getting caught, especially in NJ. I know the academic board would give her a nice sentence, not to mention what the police would do!

KRM: Believe me, I'm happier without her! I wouldn't be enjoying any of the hobbies that I'm a part of if I was still with her. I know that she'd be angry if I was going out to the bars and clubs with my friends on weekends if we were still together or when I go away for weekends too. I should have known something was awry earlier because she kept asking me if I was cheating. I had the opportunities to, but I never did because I cared about her. But, the feeling wasn't mutual.

Chief: Hope you get your items back! I still don't understand why people steal other's property.

Evening all

Just another hour or so and I'm down the hill. A good friend is in Phoenix this week and I managed to wangle some time off. They owe me for some holiday time so I had better get it in while I can.

Going to try and get to the McCormick Railroad Park while I'm there. Haven't been there since I was a kid.

Then I will be in Safford on Friday with a friend from work looking for new digs.

Buckeye - I think you right on the money there. I think there was even a grismill in that showWhistling

Chief - that's a real drag. Hope you find where your stuff wen

Doug M., From some of the stories it sounds like a nice long vacation is in order for some Chicagoans during the G8 & Nato meetings. Some of the Occupados & anarchists want to make this worse than the "68" craziness.

Anybody got a set of the K-Line TMCC steamer instructions for a newbie ? I have a set but my scanner died so I can't copy and e-mail. I told him that if nobodyelse can help him out I'd make a copy at one of the office supply places and snail-mail it.

Spent a good part of the day doing some pruning and cutting back iceplant. Knew I should have worn long sleeves but nooooo, dummy said it's too warm out. Now my arms look I fell into a big briar patch. Bang Head

Hope all with the aches & pains or the crud feel better soon.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps near 50.  Supposed to be like this all week.  US women won the qualifying round for the Olympics by not allowing any goals at all.  Michael Shank Racing won the 24 Hours of Daytona over TCGR.  Work was long and my innards could be doing better.  Must be some bad grits somewhere.  Buckeye, good to see you made it back ok from the raid.  Chief is quite hospitable.  TMCC man, good to see you back.  Sorry to hear of your lady problems, but hopefully all will be ok.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
