Doctor appointment went OK. He checked out the pressure wound on the side of what used to be my ankle and could see no sign of infection. He did a culture swab on it to see what may be living in there. No matter how careful you are there's always something. He also gave me paperwork for an MRI so we can see what's going on in there with the bones. I almost have the paperwork completed.

Seems I was supposed to get the MRI done this morning. Nobody said anything about that, just that it was being set up. They're rescheduling it now. This is why it's important that communication be clear.

I'm getting my checkbook warmed up for the bill paying marathon tomorrow. I have to do the face to face thing at a couple of places. Some people insist on operating in the stone age still. The others I can pay online and a couple are automatic. Also have to get the first half of the grocery shopping done. The cupboards are almost bare.

Just got the call about the MRI. I can still have it done today so I'm leaving at 12:30.

That pretty much shoots my day into tiny pieces and tomorrow will be busy too, and then I have an appointment with my primary doc on the 2nd. No rest for the weary.

Lunchtime,

A beautiful day in NJ. Sunny and temps in the 60's.

Kev, Jeffrey, good luck with the foot problems.

SJ, Hang in there and just ignore and laugh off the remarks.

Kyle is still hanging in. We have not heard much.

Dougdagrump, Thanks for the package. I am sure that it will put a smile on Kyle's face. A friend of ours who is a close friend delivered it for us. Thanks again.

The best of health for everyone.

Foot doctor appointment!!!

Enter:

Dr. so your foot is hurting you.

Kev. yeah that is why I am here.   Hmm

Dr, how bad does it hurt?

Kev, like somebody has just stomped on it.  Crying

Dr, does it hurt like that all of the time?

Kev, mostly when I try to walk or stand on it.  Tongue Tied

Dr. what is that bright rash on top of your foot   Surprise

Kev. humm that is why I am here  Hmm

Dr. you have a very high arch

Kev, I know so? Tongue Tied

Dr. I do too, do you keep your shoes tight.

Kev, yes, I don’t like loose shoes.   Whistling

Dr. maybe they are pinching the nerves on the top of your feet and causing pain.

Kev, maybe?   Confused

Dr. lets loosen up your shoelaces so they don’t put pressure on the top of your foot

Kev, okay but never had this problem before.  Confused

Dr. start taking the same medication I gave you for the Gout and put some of this stuff on the rash.

Kev, okay why?   Sigh

Dr. it may help

Kev, may help? fine, I will  Indifferent

Dr. plan on seeing me in two weeks but if it is not better in a week call me.

Kev, fine, I will, doubt it will get much better, it has been this way since November.   Bang Head

Dr, we will see, it may take a long time to calm the nerve. Have a nice day.

Kev, you too.

Secretary, $$$$$$$$ here is your new appointment date. $$$$$$$$

Kev, thanks.

To be continued

Mornin' All.

Don, Welcome to the club, I'm always confused. Confused

Dennis, If you can scan and e-mail that would work. The instructions that came with my K-Line Mikes were very generic. Check the thread "K-Line Pacific".

Insomnia was about this morning, as usual woke-up about 4:30 and not able to get back to sleep. Finished last nites KP and got the dishwasher going, then started the betterhalf's coffee.

Anybody seen the MTH M&M's Handcar yet ? Was thinking of picking one up with Valentine's Day & Easter just around the corner. Clown Should be an absolute hoot at the museum.

John, Kyle's situation hit kinda close to home. I lost a nephew to cancer some years back, no matter the age parents are not supposed to outlive their children. Continued prayers for Kyle and his family.

Prayers for all to recover from their ailments.

Later gang, need to get my rear in gear and run some errands.

Good morning all,  had two pieces of good news this morning.  First of all, my best friend survived his heart attack.  Finally found out from his wife last night that he was admitted to the hospital yesterday.  They are running test today to determine how much damage.  He had a triple by pass 17 years ago but said that they don't expect them to last that long before you need another one.  I was able to talk to him this morning on the phone when I inquired about visiting hours at the hospital.  He sounded good and was just waiting for the next procedure.

The second good news was an update on my sister in North Carolina with the cancer.  The oncologist said that she is doing so well on harmone treatments and bone treatment that she can hold off on doing any chemo for a while longer.  Meanwhile sister is ambulatory and having a good quality of life for now.  Thank the Lord.

Getting ready to go with wife to her doctor appointment for check up on GI problems.  New office so I have to show the wife how to get in there.

Have a good day y'all,

Ray

Holy smokes.....I miss a couple of days and find myself 9 pages behind!!!!!!!

Buckeye........you live dangerously with your foray into Roseyville.  I loved every update AND the photos!! Thumbs Up

Kev and Jeffrey.......add in my aching knees and we have most of the leg covered.  I can't narrow things down to a causal event.  They've got me limping pretty good, the dog must have run into them as he has a tendency to do when he gets happy and excited, which is a lot.

RaySP......prayers for your ailing buddy.  And the good news on your sister is upliting.  Prayers for her continue. Angel

Chief......if there is anything I can do to aggravate you, please let me know what it is and I will be happy to comply. Whistling  That theft of your stuff angers me.  You need to round all of us who have dogs so we can come on down, track the thieves down, and administer some rough justice. Super Angry

Colin.......you escaped.  That is good news.  Thumbs Up

Dennis.........hope your back stops barking at you.  I took a whole bunch of photos at a dog training event with my new Nikon D3100, posted them on the trainer's website.  Photos came out exceptional.  Now I have everyone and their brother asking me to send them digital files, which is no problema.......except some of their handwritten email addresses are total chicken scratch, and I can't decipher their alleged handwriting.  The emails to them with the attachments keep being returned to me "undeliverable" and "not our customer."  Bang Head

JoeyD.......thanks for your UTBRR video!!!!!!!!!  Love it.

Later, gang.

It's 71 here.

Got the MRI out of the way. Guess I'll find out what it has to show when I go back to see the doc on the 7th. They had me wear headphones while the MRI was being done. Not bad as they muted the sound of the machine. What was bad was what was coming through those headphones. Rap! Oh man! I was about ready to scream! I had them change it to a classic rock station.

Well first SJ you asked if they actually had sidewalks in roseyville well the truth is not as we are accustomed to as there actually what we would call dirt trails but they do go along the front of buildings and homes there so I guess you could call them sidewalks but there made of dirt ( cheaper than paying for all that concrete and just take a small tractor with a scraper blade and you flatten them back out ) Laugh Thats why the Yankee the chief said was driving down the sidewalks didn't know it wasn't allowed as he didn't realize they were side walks.

Bobs new office is a little big for the job but they do make smaller ones that would work.

Bob when I saw the straps on the front of your new office reminded me of the one I use to see on the outskirts of Tallahassee, FL. except it was built to be towed never had a motor in it, it was towed to do its job. It must of been one of the first ones as it was really old and just on display.

Well I hope to make it to York in April so looking forward to that. I was informed my request for off during that time has been approved. ( we had to put in for leave for the whole year by the end of Dec) so I did both York dates hoping to get approved for one or the other well actually got both but can't afford to go to both so will try to go in April. Not planning to get anything really just want to go so I can say been there and meet some of the gang.  But will be looking for a junk shell for a PA-1 especially if its NYC need the parts that the number boards go in and Lionel never sold them as separate sale but they sold the shells with out them as separate sale Bang Head makes a lot of sense to meWhistling.

Well tomorrow is the big day for me. Happy B-Day

Talk to you all later hope you have a good evening.

Ohayō (O-hi-o for Chuck),

I am having a quick coffee break at work so I figured I would get my last post in the January pot.  I had a great three-mile run this morning.  It was very chilly which I enjoy and the new running music I downloaded to the iPod really helped my pace.  I have the usual paperwork to handle at the office today.

Jeffrey - I hope the MRI result moves your healing process along.  I should have known you were a rap fan with the way you used graffiti on that F2.  Laugh

Kev - I know I shouldn't laugh at the conversation you had with your doctor, but I did.  I have had similar conversations.

SP Ray - I'm glad you received such great news.  I pray the healing continues.

Happy Birthday RT! Happy B-Day

Cloudy and low 60's today.  Sure seemed strange.  Knowing that it is the end of January, I was expecting cold, nasty weather when I stepped outside at lunchtine.  Really suprised by the warm air.

Doug M - some years ago, I happened to be in Frankfurt at the same time a G8 conference was being held.  We were out walking looking for a place to eat when we came across one of the motorcade routes.  The street was lined both sides with policemen, all armed with sub-machine guns.  Quite a sight.  I wonder what kind of security Chicago is going to provide?

The other thing I remember about that trip was a stage was being set up for some sort of protest.  The police had ambulances staged about two blocks off of the square where the protest was being set up.  That made me just a little uneasy.  I gathered the group I was traveling with at the side of the square, away from the growing crowd and sugested that we find somewhere else to go.

All for now.

Good evening everyone.  Long day.  I was on my way out the door when one of the neurosurgeons asked me to help him out on a case.  Well, five hours later, I finally get home.  Anyway, I did get some time to work on some research I am doing for a project we are working on.  Getting some good data now, but the real fun...not, happens when we have to crunch the numbers and do statistical analysis.

Ray, I had ment to tell you last night that your friend would be tested for nine hours if he was admitted for chest pain.  They do a series of blood tests every three hours for a comparison of three different runs.  If that were the case, he would not be able to call you in most cases.  Besides, they try to make folks somewhat comfortable, so he may not have been able to put two words together.  Regarding his 17yo bypass, yeah, that is awhile.  Most vein grafts (the conduit they take from the legs) last about 8-10 years.  Most internal thoracic artery grafts last about 15 years.  If folks behave, don't smoke, keep their cholesterol down, and take their medicine, they can stretch the years out a little.  Some folks with bad genetics will have a shorter longevity of their grafts.

RT, happy birthday to you sir.  May your day be filled with blessings and good food and friendship.

God bless, dennis

PS: DougDG, don't be afraid to remind me about that instruction sheet, as I have a few things going on, and I don't want to forget.
