Lunch Time,

Raining hard here, calling for some flooding, already calling for weekend coverage. I am glad that it is not my turn.

Chuck, No place like home.

Dennis, Good luck with the adoptions.

Fife, I hope that all went well with the gurney ride.

SJ, Wish Granny a speedy recovery.

Anjdevil, Rich, check the web site. I just got out of a staff infection meeting and according to a manager the jobs are to be posted.

Prayers for all in need, our list is getting large again.

Back to work,

John

Good Mornin' Ya'll From Overcast Taxachusetts,

More rain on tap today and tomorrow, coming up along the coast from points South.  Guess the Chief is donating some of his unwanted water to us, not realizing that we don't need it. Whistling   The temps last night at 11PM were in the high 60s, same overnight, and the forecast calls for a seasonal high of 75 today in my neck of the woods.  Fall is here!

Chuck........sure is great seeing your posts.  In a couple of weeks you will be scampering up and down the stairs back and forth to the train room like a hungry monkey chasing a bannana. Laugh

Fife........the Fleets has sailed. Pirate  Smile, Wink & Grin  Hope you have smooth waters today.

Prayers continue for Granny, RaySP and SIS, Roy, and Rich ........and also today, for all those with college expenses staring them in the face.

Gotta run, will check in later.

TheQ and I had a discussion about this last night and I was informed it is not a priority. Upon further proding it became apparent that it was not on HER priority list. So we had further discussion about HER priority list and MY priority list. We ALL know how that went... but I did win out on the layout discussion.

Aloha. Grey but clearing. Another college visit tomorrow - right near CTT headquarters.   Fife, it's Always Talk-like-a-Pirate Day. Arrrr. PirateDennis, congratulations and happy happy anniversary - and great news about the adoptions. We went for one and found two in one of our 'sequences'.  Rich, have you explored some of the fleet ops at local universities? We have a big one. Prayers for granny and Chuck! So glad you're home.

Good Morning,

Very foggy this morning. Spent the night at my Mom's. Took care of a few minor maintenance issues and watched the Yankees loose. She likes the company and looks forward when I do stay over.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Chuck, it has to feel great being home.

Have a great day,

Chuck is home! Wahoo!!

Jack - no kidding. Lasted at least six months. Was a small one, but not a gourd. I guess it's dry in Phoenix.

Dennis - congrats on the adoption process!

Time to find something to eat and then a pillow.

HOORAY for CHUCK and Paula! Being home after all this will raise one's spirits!

Still tired today and this was the last day for the steroids. With the steroids wearing off the arm (referred pain from the neck) and upper shoulder ache. Will move to ibuprofen tommorrow and contact the doc for next steps.

Good afternoon everyone.  Been a few since I last checked and lots of pages to catch up on.  Busy on this end.  First, we got our referral from China on a son with cleft lip/palate...we accepted and are in process on him.  Also, my bride let them know that we would be interested in a second child while we are there, so.....I may not be retiring before long!   I may need to keep things in check as the train room is hallowed ground!  The policy is that I can not post the photo of the child until everything is locked, so I will when I can.  Tomorrow is my anniversary, so we are heading to Hotlanta to see a play and have a nice dinner sanz children.

Chuck! what can I say....you are a miracle and answer to prayer!  Continue the effort towards restored health and when possible, take that bride of yours out for a much deserved dinner!

Rich, do you do any diesle work?  If so, you may want to look into the fire department shops.  We had two at HFD who were full time.  I am sure larger departments have a larger work force.  Good luck and I will keep you in prayers.

Bob, thanks for the photos.  Very nice view.  Also, will keep the prayers going....hang in there buddy!

Glad to hear progress on so many.  Roy, glad you are on the mend.
God Bless,
Dennis

Jack,

I don't think I can just walk away.  The major issue is that reverse is the only gear that works, the rest aren't major.  What I did notice is that all three wiper arms need restored/replaced, one washer nozzle is absent from the hood, all a/c hardware has been removed ( there is actually space to work because of that), the section of the intake from the radiator support to the airbox is gone, there is a small blister on the passenger quarter panel, and the radio and climate controls are gone.  That sounds like a lot, but that is easy compared to the trans.  I am probably going to call the seller back.

Brent,

I would, but I have not seen her lately.

Not much going on today.  Watched some of the first season of Everybody Loves Raymond, then work tonight.

Doesn't look like Boysenberry is anywhere in the pictures to me.  Looks like a $1,200 vehicle that doen't have a working gearbox and that needs about 3 to 4 grand to straighten out.  I'd go search for Boysenberry and take the trip.  Big Smile

Good morning/afternoon all,

Stayed up late watching movie and slept until 9:00AM this morning.  Big breakfast was good.

Jack, l did call my sister in North Carolina last night.  We had a great conversation.  She is doing good under the circumstances and has a great attitude.  I will look into travel requirements for myself to go see her sooner than later..

Another model railroader friend for years had prostate surgery but his numbers are still too high.  He's down in the dumps and I need to call him today.  He has already had a double leg amputation for diabetes.

Hey Chuck, today is the day.  Good for you!  Waiting for your next post from home.

Jack, re my Marx Train.  Sorry to say, it was lost somewhere along the way but I got a lot of milage out of it.  I sold my first Lionel Train too when I got older but then I redescovered trains again in the early 60's and the rest is history.

Roy, looks like that medicine is doing some good and bringing the inflamation down.  Hopefully your follow up med will keep it down.

later,

Ray

Laz......of course Chuck is going home in a limo, a stretch one at that.  How else do you think he will be able to transport "select" members of his PT crew with him?  Whistling  Chuck......no stops at the local watering hole on the way home today! BeerThumbs UpThumbs UpThumbs Up

Good mornin' ya'll from rainy Taxachusetts where we are and will be getting wet for at least 3 straight days.  At least the cold has moved off the coast and temperatures have returned to a seasonal range.  Low to mid 70s today.  Don't know about you guys, but I have not yet had to fire up the furnace.  Heard a cruel statistic on CNN this morning: 25% of yound adults or about 6 million are living with their parents.  I hate being included in that minority.  Bang Head.

Brent.....you are "hoping to build a train layout this year for under the tree?"  Didn't you get the memo from the Princess?  It is already a fait accompli and is featured prominently on your  "honey-do" list.  Get cracking! Big Smile

Chief......I really enjoyed the model German airport video to which you provided links.  What I couldn't figure out is what they did with all of the planes taking off that wound up in that big box at the end of the runway.  Whistling  Hope your "'no parking" sign didn't get inundated with the rising pond waters.  That picture you had posted a year ot two back was a classic.

SubmmBob..........your friend's pumpkin lasted from Fall to the following early Summer?!?  Either he lives above the Arctic Circle or it was plastic!  Stick out tongue

RaySP.......congratulations for reaching your 1,000th post!  Angel for your Sis.  I was glad to hear she is home and has help.  Don't wait.  Give her a call!!!!  Re your Doc's observations.....I'd rely on any recommendations Chuck has to offer over the Doc's.  Chuck is convinced therapeutic massage PT is NOT over-rated.  Whistling

DougDG........everyone I know who (after years) simultaneously cut the caffeine and nicotine cold turkey took months to adjust, felt chronically tired.  I think your Doc is spot on..... adding, deleting, and changing things over time.  You are like a fine, vintage Ferrari that needs time and patience to get it to the right state of tune, but on reformulated fuel.  Laugh

8N........I got to wondering where you went to hide when your wife hosted that bridge club.  When my wife has such a gathering of women, I move my car into the street, help greet the incoming, and then quickly bolt before I become the waiter and the go-fer for the evening.  Re the meeting you missed because the "host" made some bad assumptions.... my daughter and SIL sent me a photo of the grandchildren with a text message with Christmas greetings, and I discovered them the next July.  I promptly responded.  Whistling

Rich........my son got laid off due to downturn in business, some "nepotism," and some major good old boy blunders in the reduction in force.  Son ran into one of his former coworkers last week who remarked in a beleagered fashion: "We really need YOU back."   Son's current job is closer to home by about 75%, he is paid more, works less hours, gets more paid vacation out of the box, and has upward mobility on the horizon.  Like Chief aptly stated, "Something better is right around the corner."  We will all toss in some prayers to help the process along.  They seem to be unusually effective recently. Angel

V8/RaySP........ you didn't mention if any of your first trains ever survived to make the journey with you.

SJ...........prayers Granny's knee is making some headway.  Angel  Those motion machines really cut the recovery curve.  Someone else mentioned a very important reminder for you, for before your better half becomes more mobile:  make sure you have checked under the furniture for any empties you may have missed.  Beer Whistling

Roy........was glad to hear you are making headway, albeit slowly.  It took me weeks to knock down an inflammation in my back and get back to feeling almost normal.  Docs had to switch meds a couple of times.  Steroidal anti-inflammatory meds, pain killers, and muscle relaxants didn't work on me, and this stumped the experts.  The non-steroidal, prescription strength ibuprofen did the trick.  Go figure. Angel  And I hope more rain is in your forecast.

Rich/AF Ray/JoeyD........thank you for all of your kind words of encouragement and support by reminding me that the Yankees won the division again last night. Bang Head  Fortunately for me, it was at the expense of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.  Someone better start beating up on the Angels too or this Red Sox team won't make the postseason.......no pitching.  Who would have thunk at the beginning of the season, before injuries decimated the pitching staff.  Backups ain't cutting it. Bang Head  Fife and Brent.........what's with Baltimore?  Didn't you give them instructions to lay down for the Red Sox?  Bang Head

Gotta run.  It is a good day.  Blueberry is going home!!!!
