Really Happy to hear about Chuck !!!  Definetly the BEST NEWS of my day!!  And Hats off to Paula as well this has had to have been a nightmare for her!  Looking to forward to having him back.

Got through the jury duty today.  Boy did they have a tough time filling the panel!  Would ask a series of questions then an attorney would ask the juror a follow-up question and he would get a totally different answer.  Then side-bar, the juror would be dismissed because of language barrier.  What was really peculiar is that one juror had worked for 25 years with the post office, and still didn't understand.  Was quite a day.

Did get the flag pole remains out of the ground, so now it will be easy to repair and replace.  Wont even need to pull up the cement or nothing.  Just cut about 12" off the bottom, repaint, and replant.

Chris asked about my job activities, I told him I had put in at Home Depot as well.  So he says, Why didn't you tell me?  The Store Manager is a a good friend, I can get you on there anytime!  Seems the tables have reversed??  So will see what happens.

Received an email form the train club this am.  Seems LA City Council and Dept of Parks and Rec, has done up  new lease requirements and the future may be pretty grim.  So will find out tomorrow night how significant that is, doesn't sound good.

Its Hot here, 88 with 40% humidity!!  Guess we have Santa Ana winds coming in the week, so undoubtedly here come the fires.

Take care all.

Good Evening

61 and windy

Our daughter came by early afternoon with the boys and a pizza. We got a call from her at 5pm, her kidney stone was hurting her. I spent over an hour with her at a medical center and they still hadn't looked at her. She started feeling better by then so we checked out and left. I told her to call if it hurts again and we will go to an ER. Her husband should be home soon so I guess they can handle things for now. Banilla is ready...S.J.

Praise be to God for answered prayers!!!!!!

I seriously thought about using attic trusses for a room above the addition, but it blocked the only window into the upstairs hall and we judged it would be too dark.

But I may get the old train room back.  I did not paint over the layout murals.

May God bless, and continued prayers for Chuck!

Go Chuck Go!  Thanks for answered prayers!

Doug M - forgot to tell you, I won a Percy on ebay the other day for $55 plus $9 shipping.  That's about half MSRP.  The box is ripped up or something, but I don't care about that anyway.

Yeah - I was thinking about that trimmer, but I didn't go to Home Depot yet.  I'll check it out one of these days.  I need to finish current outdoors projects pretty soon, cause as James T will tell you, our Summer days are running out. I have about 20 more linear feet of bushes to cut out and dig up in front of the house.  Then I need to scrub and power wash the front of the house.  AND, then I need to install the vent and ventilation pieces in the basement for the bathroom down there, which includes the exhaust "port" in the side of the house.  I'll worry about the jungle down in back of my property next year, I guess.

Once the bathroom is done in the basement, we can get the drywall taped and mudded Thumbs Up  I was going to do that myself, but Char wants to hire it out and I understand - I'm a slow worker, mostly because I don't put in many hours on the basement in a week, lol!

TARDIS is ready and we have Banilla, so let's get going men!

Great news Chuck - hang in there!

Brutus - contracting out the tape & mud part of the drywall job is not a bad idea.  I keep saying that is what I will do on my next drywall job around the house.  Somehow I never do.

All for now.

Good morning all,

Cool and rainy in SE Indiana today.  I was so glad to hear about Chuck.  Made my day.  Good thing as game last night was awful.  Windy, too windy, was not dressed warm enough, had to move to a different field, almost did not have enough players at first, did have one sub, game was very disorganized, one referee only, person I was guarding late in the game got the winning goal, and our team missed a potentially game tying PK with little time left.  Was going to eat out afterwards but just went home.  Almost a '66 Rodger Ward Victory Dinnner moment for me.   Girls did win a JV game 1-0 after getting pounded in varsity 7-0.  Long day at work.  Got a monthly report on dad's investments and they took a hit in August.  Wife said I snored too much.  Hmmmm.......

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

I think it is safe to say that Blueberry's excellent recovery was due to  "WINGS" and a Angel!  Even NASCAR chipped in with a Chevy win.

Aloha. Beautiful fall day again. I echo the sentiments about Chuck - now praying for his long recovery. Jack, I got smart and asked Kelly to pick out the roof shingles. I think it matches the old ones. Those men worked swiftly. Now to pay for it all. Big Smile  Brutus, hope to borrow a tall ladder and attack those trees sometime this week.

Morning all!

Great news about Chuck - our prayers continue for him and his family and a speedy recovery! Angel

Doug - yes the foundation is critically affected in this weather. We are located deep in the city so the wildfires are not as big of a risk. Lots of dry grass (even when it is short) in the more rural areas blazes like crazy (one would not expect) and then it sets the trees on fire. On the news this morning they are now reporting over 1000 homes burned - and when we say burned - it means to the ground - only ashes and metal left - fire is so intense and moving so fast around a burning home that firefighters cannot get in there to battle it - so the home is lost.

Fife - excellent floatation for the yatchet.

Beautiful weather here - 50's this morning - mid 80's this afternoon!

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Good morning all,

Chuck, so glad to hear you are doing better.  I will continue to remember you in prayer for complete recovery.  Looking forward to seeing your post again

V8 Dennis, yes its hot over here too.  It was over 100 yesterday and I didn't even go out until after dark.  I laid down for a nap in the afternoon and slept for three and a half hours.  I guess I needed it.  We went out to eat and I had breakfast for dinner.  I got one of those farmer breakfast with ham and 3 eggs plus home fries .  The ham covered the whole plate so I gave half of it to my son who ordered something else.  We get those parrots over here in Glendora too.  They travel in big flocks and sometimes all of them will occupy the same tree.  They are very noisy.  They like fruit trees and feed on them.  I don't really know where they came from.  One story was that they escaped from someones aviary like you said but who knows.

Ray

Hi GUYZ,

Well it was day 7 of the school year and we had our first early dismissal.  WOO HOO!!!  We got about 3 inches of rain this morning from 6-9AM.  Every creek up here is flooding its banks.  Wish we can send it to ROY.  By tomorrow morning they have us to get 10+ inches total for this guy named LEE from DA SOUTH.  Sneak attack and he is just hanging out here in PA. DA!

CHUCK get that SNOW CANON polished up.  We might have to send early snow down south?

Good evening everyone.  Been busy here as I am on call and we have had a number of things going on.  Today was daughter's birthday, so that was a big event.  She started by waking my wife up at 0300 to ask "Mommy, is it my birthday yet?"  Then, we got them up at normal time and shuffled them off to school.  Stopped by a local doughnut factory and brought it an assortment of doughnuts (3 dozen) for her class and also for the office staff/teacher.  Bride and I went out for brunch as I had not had anything to eat in almost 24 hours.  Long day at work, followed by birthday dinner and finally time to relax.

Last night, I got the absolute best news...Chuck, we are so happy for the recovery...Now do  what they tell you and get  back to full strength so we can start picking on you again!  I am thankful for such an answered prayer.  When you get up to it, you had better take Miss Paula out for something a bit more special than Cheerios!

Well, it is time for bed.  Hope everyone has a great night.  I will continue to lift Chuck's recovery in prayer and also for some others.
God Bless,
Dennis

Howdy guys - well, back to work today.  I had some training I could take today, so it was pretty light duty, but interesting.  Tomorrow, I'll have to find some cases to work on, as I am personally all out.  Train stuff today was checking out a new flyer from Walthers - not much O gauge in the flyer though.  Happy B-Day to Charlie's wife!  TARDIS is ready, so let's get moving :)

Good evening all,

That is great news about Chuck.  As previously stated, we will pray for his continued recovery.

Today was my first full day of my Southern invasion.  The first full day of school was fine and it should be an interesting six weeks.  As I was driving to the base yesterday I noticed some nice CSX yards.  The base also has tracks running through it and I can hear the horn every now and then.  I'm hoping to have some time on the weekends to check them out.

Jack - My Japanese has not progressed at all.  The wife and kids have daily Japanese lessons as part of our home school curriculum.

Good night,

Joe

Another nice September day today.

Interesting day today at work.  One of my projects has reached crisis mode - so now I have backing to work on it.  Other 'help' too - what is taking so long, how come it isn't ready, what's the problem, etc, etc.  Months ago, when I said this work needs to be done before we got into volume production, it was never deemed important enough to be supported - no  immideate need. Bang Head  Oh well.  Chalk it up to corporate entertainment factor and go on 'cause we learned some new things about how the tools work today.

Go Tigers!

Evening All, (I probably should adjust to the time you all are on here)

Morning Everyone,

Had a good day, nothing much happened.  Did a little work on a layout, and went to club meeting.  Talked with John F., feel for you guys in the NE, last thing needed is more rain.  John was fighting water getting in the basement.  Just way too much water in too short of a time.  Sure wish Roy's area could get some benefit of it!!

Saw Roy's picture in the other magazine that arrived today, it was hard to pick him out, not a very big picture, but a very distinguished crowd he hangs with.

The LA City Council and Dept of Parks and Rec., have decided to raise the rent on the facility.  (Fort McArthur in San Pedro, belonged to the Army and city has the property for $1 per year rental.  The clubs rent went up over 1000%, so going to be a substantial increase in dues coming I'm sure.  Obviously the city is doing everything to try and come up with money, to pay off all the big benefits and retirement programs.  Can't believe how much public services are being cut.  I'm sure its the same everywhere but doesn't make it right.  How quick the elected officials here forget who they are supposed to work for.

As previously reported it been really hot here, we actually were over 100 today, very rare, but more tomorrow.  Figures it has to happen the day school goes back, at least now they are all air conditioned.

I don't know what it is about the parrots but we have them too!  Have the same "rumors" here that they are escaped.  I know they have a long life span, but must be the 2nd or 3rd generation.

Sure hope John, Laz, and the other northeasterns can keep dry and dont suffer much damage.  Hope everyone has a great day!

Oh Yeah, all you Tardis guys, check this out.....
