Good evening all,
We had a busy day today as it was my last day here in OK. We spent time with the wife's family at a cookout and finished up some errands. Tomorrow I begin my Southern invasion to AL. I checked in online tonight and was offered an upgrade for only $75; the first flight is 2 1/2 hours long so I decided to splurge.
AF Ray - Today's game was crazy. We are now two games up.
Good night,
Joe
Ray,
I would, but I've got a feeling that I wouldn't get them back. I really need to figure out where to keep them.
Brutus,
I am looking forward to Forza 4 myself.
Never did get the pool table cleaned off today. I went down and looked at it, then ran the Aerotrain for about half an hour. Cleaning is kind of like working on a Probe. You open the hood, realize that you either can't see the problem or can't get at it easily, then shut the hood and walk away.
I am also trying to figure out what to do with the excess Lionel and AF. It is to the point that it has overflowed into my daily space and is starting to feel like a burden. I'd sell some of it, but I can't bring myself to do that. Not sure what to do.
Good morning all,
It is cooler in SE Indiana, but should be dry for tonight's game. Rest of week will be iffy as far as rain is concerned. Worked on finances last night. Balanced checkbook, which is always an adventure. Slept well. Not enough. Will go to bed as soon as I get home from game tonight. Bran muffins on dining car. TBIL. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Morning Guys,
for Chuck & Paula, Char
A rainy start today, was up early for MVA and rescue, so just got ready for work.
Jack - the Harley is not making any weird noises right now, put 100 miles on it Sunday night. However, during the ride, the shifter bolt disappeared ...Dad had a bolt and nut so it could be fixed.
Jon will tell you, shoulda bought a Honda (or Road Star...).
Princess had dance rehearsal last night...and being PAID! She has a gig at the Corner of Chaos during Halloween season. If it weren't for her 2 night classes, she would have had the lead, but her education is more important.
OK....off to work.....Have a great day everyone!
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Mornin' b.... Okay, hold on a sec. Rich, are you sure that's your daughter...?
Where was I? Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. ,, and more in the Mid-Atlantic region. Did get to the pyull before the heavens opened up. Had nice dinner, then put on a billiards clinic against oldest boy. Then watched the Terps beat Miami. Uniforms look like someone chewed up a MD flag and threw up on a football player.
laz -wing on wing...
Tricky part is keeping wind directly to stern. (No, this is not my boat) You're thinking of this...
Pay attention.
Good Morning
55 and overcast, cold weather sure spoiled the holiday weekend for many. We cooked out, ate in, then I ran some trains. Watched Heartbreak Ridge the night before, forgot what a good movie it was. S.J.

Aloha! 58 cool degrees. Fall has fallen - at least for this week. Roofers arrives at 0-dark-30 to get started. That encouraged me to go to work early. . Nice long weekend. Watched NASCAR 'for Chuck'. Couldn't watch the White Sox almost-no-hitter because Kelly was recording too many shows. Not sure why it has a limit so I listened on the radio which is always more fun. Boy, they got schooled earlier by the Tigers this weekend. Oh well. SJ, that's a good movie!Brutus, sounds like Pappy's was worth it. I could go for some BBQ right now, even though it's 8 am. Roy - congrats on your photo in OGR! Praying the fires are far from you. If the ground shrinks from the drought, I'm presuming that's bad for a house even without a basement. Hope it rains soon.Fife, the MD uniforms must be the worst in college football. I'm told the helmets are supposed to look like a turtle shell. Magnificent 7 is one of my favorite movies - I like its Japanese inspiration even better.Joe, safe travels. My graduate course students are usually super-motivated because they're paying for the course. DennisV8, I'm jealous. Gasoline here is still 4.09.Mike C, you are my Standard Gauge inspiration. Someday...Bob, tell us more about your new motorcycle. Don B, hurray for Chris! A campus job is great. Can you just cut-down the flag pole and 'replant' a new one nearby? That sounds like a lot of concrete to access. My daughter spent the summer parking cars in the Cedar Point amusement park lots. Sounds like that was a nice job.Jim, good priorities in running the Aerotrain rather than cleaning off the pool table. Hope you scrubbed thoroughly after your dip in the sewage pit after that dropped tool.Prayers for Chuck and Paula, Doug's and Char's continued recovery

Good Mornin Ya'll From Rainy and Cool Taxachusetts,
Prayers continue for Blueberry and for Paula.
Today I volunteered to help a friend who is moving. The plans for a mini-van he was going to borrow from a friend fell through, it is raining heavily, and the forecast is for rain here through Thursday and into Friday.
He thinks we can fit a matress and a box spring in the back of my CUV, not to mention other furniture. Somehow he keeps focusing on the length of my cargo area versus the dimensions of the bed and furniture stuff. He can't get it through his head that the rear hatch opening is only so large, smaller than his mattress and box spring for sure, no matter how you tilt them. Transport by placing these items on the roof is out because of the heavy rain and, in his inimitable style, he neither purchased any plastic to cover the stuff nor payed any attention to the weather forecast. Bet he has no rope, bungee cords, or blankets to protect what little furniture we can squeeze in there. I am too old for this type of activity.
DougM.........what color roofing did you select? MY FIL went lighter to cut down on heat absorption in the sun and cut his A/C bills. My MIL was not thrilled......with the light grey. She wanted black.
Fife......why is it all of our ex-girlfriends' pictures from many years ago keep showing up on the internet?
JimmyT........[swg] Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.
MikeC........how is it that you aren't familiar with the players on your soccer league team this year? Ringers from abroad?
Roy.........those fires in Texas look devastating. Some official was on the news this AM, repeating the Smokey the Bear mantra to a great extent. Hope you don't get affected.
JimSP.........will their be a train room in the attic above the new addition?
RaySP.........would a back brace help you out?
JoeyD........syonara to OK. Goos luck in school on AL. How is your Japanese coming along?
Dennis and Chief........the weather looks ominous down your way. Hope you guys didn't suffer any damage.
Rich...........glad to hear the Harley is running well. A nut, washer, and a bolt.........could have been far worse.
Gotta run.
Jack.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.

Beautiful plates of wings.
In a rush to get going to Raleigh. Tornado warnings all around us and at lake house. Raining hard. Had to post this as just came up on computer.
A miracle has happened - doctors did not think Chuck would live one day and now he is off the ventilator and in a private room - 1-740-439-8312. He is sitting up, eating and learning how to walk again. Will be moving to Summit Acres nursing home in next few days for three weeks and then home. I guess all the prayers worked, because there was no hope he would make it. Had pneumonia, emphasema, copd, congestive hear failure and stepsis (a fatal blood disease), now on the way to health. He asked me to e-mail you Frank and all his other friends, but I can only find your e-mail in his computer, so can you please pass on this great news to his friends. When he gets to the rest home, he will have access to his own computer, and he will e-mail all of you. Just wanted you all to know. Also his cell phone bit the dust, got a new one, but he is not sure how to set it up yet, so cannot call out. Well thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, and you will hear from Chuck soon. Paula Outstanding!!!! Later.
Outstanding!!!!

Good afternoon all,
Most excellent news about Chuck!!!!

PS To answer the question about the soccer league, we select new teams each season. Over time, I get to know several of the "returnees". This fall there appears to be a lot new faces, which is good in a way, but bad for somebody like who has a hard time learning names. It will be an interesting season, I am sure.
wrmcclellan Morning all! Spent a good part of the day yesterday at the local "first Monday trade days" in Canton TX. The wind was blowing as the front was coming through and kept temps down to 95. This morning it was high 60's and currently it is 75 and a high today of 85. 80's for the rest of the week. We have the TS Lee to thank. That nice low pressure zone dragged the cool air down. The bad news is it is very dry here. We are 9 inches shy on rain. House is moving and we now have two cracked tiles in the kitchen (retiled in 2008). Not good. Cannot poor enough water on the foundation to keep the ground saturated and keep it from moving/subsiding and we have water use restrictions to boot. Fife - the Baltimore race was a good one although I do not like street races in general - no passing and all strategy is pit stops and avoiding wrecks. That is not really racing. Prayers for Chuck, Char, and those in need. Have a great Labor Day all!

Great news about Chuck. Many prayers were answered. Hope to hear from you soon Blueberry.
So far only activity today was getting smog inspection on an 87 Buick Century. Passed with flying colors. Amazing! It's old but low milage.
Got a new newsletter from TTOS Southwestern. They say that they are getting too many sellers for the time alloted in the monthly aution. The meetings start at 10:00AM but the auction usually doesn't start until around 1:00PM or later. I'm usually gone by that time. In the old days I think it started after about 1 hour of table sales. My recommendation is to start it at Noon before half the members leave.

Just talked to Chuck as he was waiting for the transport to the nursing home at Caldwell, Ohio near Blueberry Hill. His voice was strong. I told him about all the messages on the forum and he said, "Really?" I told him everyone had been pulling for him. I think we will see him post within the next 48 hours.
Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes for Chuck these past weeks.
