We had some rain today in St Louis, but it didn't last long.  Seems we will have a couple of days of hot temps, then back into the cold cycle.  Rivers are rising, but we're not facing serious flooding that I have heard about.  Prayers for those who are flooded or lost property or loved ones.  Work has been a pain the past few days, but it will get better eventually.

Char is doing great now, guess it was some bad food or a 24 hour bug?

TARDIS is ready and we have Famous Banilla tonight, so let's hit the sky road boys - beacons on!

I finally got time to shoot a short video of the 155 Ringing Signal that I got a few weeks ago.  The amazing part is that it needed nothing, which is a miracle considering the seller.

I also won a control box for the 314AW around 9AM this morning.  I've been trying to get one since November.  I spoke with Jeff a few minutes ago and got the parts ordered to finish the 624-622 restoration.

Good evening guys.  Regarding having toilets in doors, yeah we have 4 and they are all hooked up in their own little rooms.  Of course, when they built this house, they put these smaller round seats in the two upstairs bathrooms.  It works good for the kids, but once a person with a little meat on their bones uses it, it is like trying to balance on a unicycle!  Well, not that bad, but they do not allow for a comfortable reading room.

Had a relatively good day, but a bit on the long side.  Heard the place I do some fill-in work for up in Tennessee is having trouble.  They are handling things, but I doubt they can keep the pace as it is wearing out the folks.  If our situation allows, I may head up there to help out.

Rich, Yeah, I used to hate when a brother's house or property was involved.  While we feel for the loss to everyone, it hits a bit closer to home.  We had a call where the feed line on a propane grill was burnt through and the flame was shooting from the grill through the back door of his house.  We got there very fast and it was a quick knock down.  That was my first job as engineer on the pump with 1-3/4 line with Task Force knobs.  I ran the pressure up a little bit and the guys on the tip had a little work cut out for them.

Hope everyone has a good evening.
God Bless,
Dennis

Great DVD. Couldn't figure out how they did the takeoffs and landings, then saw the track in the runway. Also saw trucks, unlowders and people moving. I'm with LAZ. Wish I had an airport on the layout (no room now).

Lunch time,

I was busy this weekend with yard work and Mother's Day. I did not have a chance to even read the posts until now.

RT, Autocar, wea had a few of them in the fleet. They became part of White later on. Great trucks. We had a Autocar that pulled our lowboy for years. It was over 30 years old when we retired it.

Probe, Good Luck on the job hunt.

Stugeon-Phish, I hope that you and your son enjoyed the Shoot A Ree. Sounds like fun. The layout looks great.

8n, Logic at work? I don't think so. The turkey dish sounds good.

AF53, We do not need a fence, we have MAGNA TRACTION. LOL. What am I expecting and can we test run it?

Brutus, I am glad that Char is recovering. Char get well soon.

Fifedog, You have the same HVAC system as mine and it sounds like our techs are about the same.

Laz, A perfect Saturday.

Mitch, Good luck with the evaluation today.

Chief, Good luck with the renovations.

Everyone have a great day,

John

Good morning all!

Sunny and 92 today. It is hot enough already LAZ.

Brutus - we will keep Char in our prayers. Hope it was just bad food.

Angel for all you guys under the weather. Having a bit of trouble with feeling in my right thigh. Trying to get a doc appt in next day or so. Used to be a lot easier to call the doc office and get an appt - now you have to wait through 15 pre-recorded messages and several key pushes to get another recording saying leave your request on VM Bang Head.

Wow - Mavs spanked the Lakers last night. Who wooda thunk it? Lakers had some real issues with less than sportsman like conduct throughout this series. That bad attitude and lack of discipline is not a good way for Jackson to exit as it reflects on the coach and staff.

Have been so busy lately no time for train stuff.

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Good morning all,

Had a nice Mother's Day dinner with the entire family.  I had to pass on red meat on account of my high triglycerides and had salmon instead with lots cooked vegetables and salad bar.  It was good.  I need to call my doctor today and let him know how my medicine for high triglycerides is doing.  He doubled my dose about two weeks ago but it is causing me stomach pain and headache now.  Not good.  I was able to tolerate half that amount before but it was not enough to do the job.

Don, how did you wind up in La Verne yesterday?  Assume you had family or business there.  Glad you and your wife had a nice day.  That train you saw at the swap meet for $175 was unbelievable.  Must be one of those people who think anything with Lionel name on it is worth a million bucks.

Chief, hope you got the bathroom straightened out so you can pee now.

Doug, I will look up that video about the German model airport.  Sounds interesting.

Lakers went down in flames yesterday.  Next year will be a lot different without Jackson.

No comment on Dodgers but hope they get it all sorted out.

Ray

Not much going on here. Just got up need to get grass cut , hedges trimmed, then finish working on the shelf layout. getting real close to having it complete as far as a loop of track up there anyway just ran into one problem 2 walls are 14' long one wall is 16' long the other wall is 16'4" long  Bang Head so now instead of just having to make two 3" pieces for the shorter wall's track I need to cut 4" off the 16' wall's track but all will be good think I will start over at far side where I need a 3" piece then work the track around till I get every thin align so I know exactly how much to cut off the other one. May even for safety reasons back the track about 1" from the edge to give me room to put a fence in the future. that may eat up most of the 4" if I do it all the way around and it will give me a little longer pieces needed where they join on the shorter wall's. Well time to get moving talk to you all later.

Aloha. I'd believe that when I saw the next bill, Chief!  Glad to hear how well Mothers Day went. The bride sure seemed to enjoyed hers - she got her phone calls, presents and brunch downtown with the extended family. Her brother and I split the bill which was easier than getting out a calculator. It's a beautiful day here in Chicago finally: 60 and sunny.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 58 degrees. Going up to 70 today with sunshine all day.

Today is a busy day. Grocery shopping. YUK. I have some chores to do and some paperwork. I will have some time for a nap, later.

Price of gas and food are really high, here. Gas company profits are sky high. Yet no one will do anything about it. So much for that.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Monday.

Morning to all,

Had a nice dinner with Mom and family.  Nephew and I ran the wheels off of the trains. Of course he was more interested in the gantry crane than anything else. He had that hook up and down and spinning around. Had some difficulty with the Flying Yankee stopping at the bridge across the door. I've got to check the connections, probably a loose wire, but I couldn't trouble shoot with a 4 yo at the helm of the gantry crane. He also loved shooting milk cans out of the 3462, but got really impatient when a can would get caught up in the mechanism and I'd have to take it off the track and unjam it.

Meeting with my boss for my evaluation today. He's retiring in July. I'm going to miss him. He really is a great support, but he leaves us alone unless we need him. New boss will be fine but she is new to the job and will require some time to get her feet wet.

Our son is coming home from a bachelor party weekend for his buddy. We will go out for Mother's day dinner tonight.  He's the best man and had to organize the whole deal.  Bachelor parties are way different these days.  They took in a Phillies game and then went to the beach for two nights. My bachelor party was a six pack and Taco Bell the night before the wedding.

Better get going.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Take care.

Good morning all,

Rain on the way again in SE Indiana.  As long as it is dry at 16th and Georgetown on May 29, I guess the weather does not matter too much the rest of May.  TBIL anytime and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Sunny day, about 80.

Quiet day for us.  One of the local grocery stores has a genuine butcher counter.  One of the items they feature is turkey white meat wrapped in bacon - about the size of filet minions.  Fired up the grill, grilled the turkey, and a vegetable medley for dinner.  Was good enough that we'll do it again someday - maybe even Thanksgiving.  Clean up was a breeze.

  Quiet on the train front.

All for now.

ChiefEagles

Busy day.  For all inquiring minds: Southern master baths [actually all Southern bathrooms] have a toilet to pee in.  I guess, unlike those up Nawth and in CA. Whistling

Popcorn time.

Chief,

I go on the Sunfire, but that's just me.Wink

RT,

I need to call Jeff K., but I am unsure of his hours.  Do you happen to know when he is in the shop? I didn't see any hours on his site.

I was going to do more work on the PW Lionel layout tonight, but I ended up running what is done and pulling some pieces off the shelves to run them.  I never realized how sluggish things can get after they've sat for an extended period.  The only minor issue that became apparent is that the eunit in the 736 doesn't cycle consistently.  I got it from Dave Dansky (Toy Train Heaven) in June of 2005, tested it, then put it on a shelf until spring of 06 when the eunit and boilerfront were rebuilt.  Then it sat until I ran it on Christmas Eve 2007, then it went back on the shelf that night and sat until tonight.  I don't run it because I don't want to chance damaging it.

Char was up several times last night, but slept late and was able to eat some supper and take her medicine, so I think she just had some bad food at lunch yesterday.  We ate at a local place and maybe someone didn't clean their spatula or something?  She seems a lot better now, but was really scared for a while there.

Didn't do anything but cook and laundry today, just a quiet day at home.

TARDIS is ready and we will have to get some banilla from Sir James.  He's got his beacon on.  Ciao!

Happy Mothers Day to all (you) Mothers...Whistling

Went to the Elks lodge for Mothers Day breakfast with Mom & Dad, gave her a card and an Edible Arraignments gift (fruit).  She is enjoying that...

Sister & BIL took us all out for Mothers Day dinner at our friends Italian Restaurant.  Good as always.

Just got done with setting up for a function for tomorrow evening.  I put away 10 8' round table, 120 chairs and reset for 55 chairs and 8 8' rectangle tables...tired now.

Talked to the Princess last night, she had a great time with her boyfriend and friends.  They spent the day at Ginnie Springs, FL, and loved it.  They want me to come back and take them to Disney.....maybe during the summer I might do that.

Had a car fire on the NJTP and I was nozzleman on that one.. Ironically, the now crispy Volvo belonged to a brother firefighter from Jersey City....rivers of molten aluminum were cascading from the car...it was that hot.  I had a blast...!

Boxed up more train items....real estate hunt continues...

72 tomorrow...another beautiful day here in Central NJ
