Good afternoon all, thank you for the prayers for my friend's wife.  I will add my own and hope she feels better soon.

Well, I got the results on the MRI today.  The doctor confirmed that I have a torn cartilage in my left knee.  He wants to fix it surgically.  The only problem is that he is going on vacation in about a week so if I want it done he has to operate this coming Monday.  Otherwise he says it would be after June 21st before he would be available again.  I know it needs to be fixed and it is not getting any better.  I have to let him know by tomorrow to make the arrangements.  I hate to rush into these things but it looks like my summer is going to be impacted no matter what I do, not to mention all the chores I need to do around the house and pool during recovery.  Fortunately, I have a grown son who lives with us who can take up a lot of the slack.  I suppose I won't be able to duck under my layout for quite a while.  I'll just have to wait and see how it goes.  Don Baker and I taked about doing some work on the layout to make it easier to get in and out of but it looks that will have to be on hold for a while.  I also promised another guy to help at his layout open house next week but that's a no go also.  Thanks for letting me bend your ear.

Ray

Good afternoon everyone.  Came home early to watch a movie with my bride before going to pick up kids.  It was a nice break.  Ray, sorry to hear about your friend's wife with her infection.  Hope they are going to get ahead of things and she will be on the mend soon.  John, hope things work out with the Union thing.  Always hard to deal with as the union heads may not agree with each other, never mind dealing with the company.  Hope they are able to settle things peacefully.

Getting ready for dinner.  Hope it is a good one for each of you.

Chuck........glad to hear that you had a wonderful birthday yesterday, capped off by the Tribe's victory.  Rumor has it that General Mills stock rose yesterday based on unanticipated, above-forecast sales.  Wink

RaySP........hope your knee MRI results are useful in figuring out what is up with it.

HudsonJohn........congratulations on your son's academic award!  Takes after his Mom, I see.  Whistling Thumbs Up

Chief.......congratulations on your niece's RN!  Thumbs Up  Hope you are not the commencement speaker, or it is going to be a long night for the graduating class.  Whistling

DougM.......send some of that ChiTown heat my way.  It's only 60 here right now.

I hope it dries out enough here by tomorrow and the returning rains hold off long enough to attack the lawn.  The pelletized lime and fertilizer I applied, coupled with the rains, have really gotten my lawn rolling now.  And the one pass with the Ortho Weed B-Gone nailed every weed in sight as well.  This particular Ortho WBG version has a crabgrass control chemical in it as well, but I have never used it before and don't know how effective it will be.  Chemical warfare. Thumbs Up

Later, gang.

Glad I'm back to my normal self. Was concerned someone would open that box, dump me out and try to drown me in milk. Ick!

Hudson John, Congrats on the youngun.

Ray, Prayers for your friends wife. No matter how bad my shoulders get surgery is out of the question. Last time I had physical therapy there were far to many patients having a very rough time with their seemingly never ending surgical PT. Grumpy

One of my loco's was a casualty of last friday's run. A mid to late 90's PS-1 steamer died and I have had no luck with it, all boxed and ready to ship to Mizells for analysis and repair estimate. Not going to put a lot into it, ain't worth a whole lot of expense.

Off to UPS, catch ya later.

Lunch Time,

I just talked to a meter reader who just read our meter, (yes we charge ourselves). He thinks that they are walking.

SPMan, Ray, Prayers for your friend's wife. Horrible ordeal that she is going through. I wish her the best and the same for you with your knee. Your neighbor seems like a nice guy and he appreciates your patience with him.

My son graduates High School next month and he is to receive an Academic Award tonight. My wife is hoping for something in the Sciences or Math. I figure Wood Shop, he has the thumb to prove it. Too bad they do not tell you what it is for ahead of time.

Have a Great Day,

John

Good morning all,

Chuck, glad you had a nice birthday.  I had more Cherrios today with a big bannana cut up on it.  Now it's off for my appointment with the orthopaedic doctor to get results of MRI on my knee.

Prayers requested for a friend's wife who has had numerous hospitalizations for shoulder surgery that has gone South.  She had some metal replacement parts put in some time ago but it never got better.  Also, this is the second time it has become infected and the second time they have opened it up.  She is recovering now in a nursing facility.  I understand that they will have to remove the metal stuff which would leave her without any use of that shoulder or second choice would be to take anti biotics for the rest of her life.  They decided on the latter.  She is such a courageous person who never complains about life and does not deserve this.

Next door neighbor ( the one with 5 collies and a large boat) is having roof redone today.  He has been doing little favors for me lately like putting my trash cans away on pick up day and putting newspaper by front door in the morning.  I appreciate his kindness.  Just never expected it.  Anyway it's nice.  Maybe I can return the favor sooner or later.  I'm sure I will.

Have a good day all,

Ray

Morning to All,

Glad to see that Chuck had a great Birthday. Loved the Cheerios avatars.  Yesterday was an easier day at work, not so many meetings.  Came home and had left over chicken and potato salad etc from Mother's Day.  Just as good the second time around. I cut the grass and trimmed after dinner because the weather was great and we are busy over the next few days and didn't know when I'd get to it.

Better get going. I have a meeting out of the building this AM.

Take care,

Mitch

Good Morning,

Tense morning at work. We have a few Unions on the Company properties and the Union that represents the meter readers and customer ops is ready to strike at midnight. This is an IBEW location and the IBEW is not honoring their picket line. May be problems.

Chuck, I am glad that you had a Happy Birthday.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Have a Great Day,

Good evening.  Been a long day.  Had to do my case, which was a complicated, long affair that actually went very well.  Then, had to baby-sit on another case and do some running around for a emergency case that someone else did, but I had to take care of the work they would have been doing.  Finally, had a sales rep here and went out to dinner to discuss some of our department needs and future plans.  It is finally over and I am heading to bed.  Did want to stop by quickly as I needed to wish Chuck a happy 40th anniversary of his 29th birthday!  Hope it was a great one and that the year ahead is a fun and healthy one.  Congratulations friend.

Glad to see so many well wishers on this site.  It is a pleasure to come and chat with friends.  I too had Cheerios for breakfast, and will again tomorrow!

God Bless,
Dennis
