Howdy guys - well, we are all here I see?  No rain yet today, but it did rain last night.  I mowed the front and side yards, but just the top of the back hill today due to the rain.  I also dug out a 14 foot trench under the deck for the drain line from the downspout, which I have been meaning to do for a few years now.  I have another as well and as they run along the same side I think I will widen my trench by 4 inches and just have them both in the same spot more or less.  Once they are buried, I will be able to just mow over them without all this hassle of moving them and stuff.  I also sprayed the back with that mole repellent again - hope it works.  It seems to be working pretty well on the front and side of the house, but I see a lot of action down at the bottom of the hill near the trees, where I haven't sprayed yet.  You slowly expand the sprayed area to drive the moles away - that's the directions anyway.

I used to have a small raised bed garden years ago based on an old show, the square foot gardener. I think I saw a new book out the other day, but didn't pick it up.  I have enough projects right now!

TARDIS is on schedule and we have the key, so banilla will be available along with the usual treats.  TTFN!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good late evening everyone.  We had some friends over for dinner and some cards afterwards.  The kids all played and now we are all tired.  Made some grilled salmon along with grilled peppers and corn.  Also made some wild rice, Hors Devours, bread etc., followed by strawberry shortcake and ice cream.  All turned out well and we had a good time.  I am about to hit the sheets.

Pat, thanks for the information.  I most likely will get to making the forms and filling them towards the end of summer as it is already in the 90 s here.  I was thinking of using RR cross ties along with weed-block.  I will fill it with prime soil and do it right.  Having priced veggies for the dinner tonight, I suspect things are about to get even more expensive.  And with regard to not having to bend over...that is becoming more important to me these days.  My back has taken a lot of punishment over the years.

I had better get to bed, church comes around early in the morning.
God Bless,
Dennis

Home from the lake house.

I see the major sewer rat has not posted this weekend.  Must have gone to the sewer holding lake where he has his summer home. Whistling

Dennis, I do raised beds but no walls.  Once I break and disk it, I shovel them leaving a 2' wide walk way.  Raised beds save space and are easier to maintain than rows.

Sunny and low 70's today.

Had to go into work today for a bit, so I didn't get out to enjoy the weather.

Well, 6pm came and went today without incident.  Three possibilities - we are not in trouble, we are in deeeeep trouble, or nothing happened.

Went out with my wife tonight and saw the local production of Arsinic & Old Lace.  It's a funny play. I always enjoy it.

All for now.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Pleasant day here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  I would like to go sailing, then go to my favorite PirateBeer hangout.  Gonna fix biscuits and sausage gravy for my household first, then maybe cut the lawn.  My sis got married yesterday (outside wedding), and a good time was had by all.  Fifepup (groomsman) put on quite a show on the dance floor (WHO KNEW?) Surprise

Probe - Congrats on the job!

88 - Still keeping everything crossed for ya...

May have some life changes ahead this week.  We'll see...

Morning all.  Have not felt good this AM.  Probably from all the tick bites I have.  Think I will feel better if I at breakfast with Fifey.  Could not seem to wake up.  Had planned to go to Sunday School.  Got up in time but went to sleep in recliner and just woke up.  Actually Lucy woke me up.

Buckeye must be gone to his lake house.  Been trying to stir a "rise" out of him. Wink No post in reply.

Going back to the lake house tomorrow AM.  Going to watch the Jesse Stone movie tonight at 9 PM.

All have a great week.

Later.

Good Morning...

Probe - you're gainfully employed? Congas, brother!!

Angel on the adoption 88 & Q!

Got back early this morning from the Kittatinny Mountains in North Jersey.  Visited Dingmans Falls and Sunset Mountain.  Had lunch in Stokes State forest.  Wonderful day.  Was just leaving the Forest at 6PM...couldn't find a radio station...was a little startled, but knew that we had survived...what ever was supposed to happen  Smile, Wink & Grin.

Princess is still on Prom night....I don't expect to hear form her until afternoon at very least.  Last report that it was a blast and she was having the time of her life.  I got the pictures of the hair and make up...couldn't believe it was her...!!!!

Mom & Dad are in NC....so I'm house sitting/cleaning today.

Fog and rain today so far, and it's time for breakfast!

Check back later to catch up!

Mornin' Fellas.

Had a really super awesome day with TheQ yesterday. We go the rest of the tile hung around the shower/tub, then went the O's game - had club level seats in section 246, awesome view and the weather was awesome. Now she's thinking of taking her brother and sister-in-law to a game in June for her brother's b-day.

Hope to grout the shower/tub today and seat the toilet. That should put a wrap on the spare bathroom remodel. Well after I move the mirror for the third time... I despise hanging mirrors or pictures... ugh.

Dennis - He works in ways unbeknownst to us. If the local adoption doesn't work out He has a reason. TheQ and I would love to go to China, but it looks like it is going to be a while before we do that. :)

John Bakeer - Windows 7 is by far and away better than Vista. I've got it on 2 laptops and my desktop at the house and workstation at work. I would NEVER go back to XP... never had Vista. Windows 7's interface is a bit different than XP's but after a few weeks with it and playing around and learning what it is capable of you will love it. I find it is better on a widescreen monitor vs standard screen though.

Afternoon all!

Sunny, low 90's, and some rain on tap for today. Have to travel Mon and Tues for busyness, leaving tonight and returning Tues night.

Enjoyed the NASCAR All-Star race last night.

8ntruck - love Arsenic and Old Lace - and it is an ideal as a stage play. The movie was on TCM about a month ago.

anjdevil - hated those nights when the princess was out all night...but we survived is all. Going through same with the "prince". One more year and then on to college. He is considering a 2012 3 week UK trip with an invited Texas Band members group. I think it would be good for him.

Brent - Angel for you and Suzy Q.

Some racing on tap today (NASCAR Iowa - Indy qualifying if they can dry the track out.), packing, and finishing several minor jobs around the house where the project was done but the tidying up part was lagging.

Regards, Roy

Howwwdeeee !

As cousin Minnie used to say.

What a busy weekend, so far. Long day at the museum on friday, not very many visitors but on your feet all that time really wears you out. All ran well, no gremlins & no pile-ups. Had a pleasant chat with a family from N.J. who were visiting, said that there is a big club layout in the Cape May area, know of the one in Patterson but not Cape May. Then trying to resolve some computer issues til very late that nite, ugh.

We got shanghai'd to work a midway stop on a 100 mi. bicycle tour from 7am til the last riders came thru on saturday. The better half and a couple others worked the gatorade & water station while the rest of us handled the munchies. I don't want to even see any peanut butter for at least 6months, you wouldn't believe how many PB&J's, PB&Honey sandwiches, orange & bananna 1/4's, and the "healthy snacks" they went thru. Think it was about 2:30 that we got home, put on a pot of coffee(first of the day) but fell asleep on the couch before it finished.

The Padres/Mariner game was frustrating so I switched over to the Sox/Cubs game only to think I had tuned in to Abbott & Costellos's "Who's On Third" meets The Three Stooges. Laugh

Kinda cool & gray here, hope it warms a little bit more.

Later all, need more Coffee .

Almost forgot, MountainTrains has the Lionel Christmas Early Buy stuff up. But what is with the PC garbage in their "Christmas" offerings.Grumpy Thumbs Down

Good afternoon everyone.  Woke up a little late, but still plenty of time to make it to church.  We all got to bed too late, so we will be taking naps this afternoon for a little while before going back to church.

After lunch, we took the kids for a "drive by" of their new schools.  Son is not happy about the fact that they do not have a lot of playground equipment....welcome to the grown up world son!  The new places have a lot more opportunities for them to grow into.  As our pastor said this morning, having potential just means you haven't done it yet.  Time for us all to start living up to the potential we are given.

Brent, yeah, one door closes, another opens.  We are actually looking at special needs in a China adoption.  For such, the wait is much less.  You do get to decide from which needs you will accept.  I am hoping this will all go well.  I also pray that you and Susie Q have a great experience in the adoption of your child.

Chief, hope you are having a great time at the lake.  In some cases, a place on the lake can be more work than pleasure, but it seems you are enjoying it.

Time for a nap.  Hope y'all have a great week ahead.
God Bless,
Dennis

Afternoon All,

Kinda unusual day here !!  Not working today !!!  Did go to the "Big Train Show" in Ontario yesterday.  It was probably 90% G-Scale, 9% HO, and 1% everything else.  Did get some Pico curved track, want to see about putting a train in the backyard.

Also working on a couple of paper facades today, see how that will come out.  So hope everyone has a good day, and pleasant weather.

Afternoon all,

Sunny and hot in Southern Ohio;  looks like thunder storms in the works for tonight.  Had two services this morning then went down town to help with Confirmation.  The Bishop was presiding, so best to make all work well.  The service went without a snag and there was a meal afterward, so my bride gets a night off.

Looking forward to the latest CTT.  Looks like a great American Flyer article.  Think of you often and pray for you more often!

MAy God bless

Aloha. Very warm, humid and windy. Dodging storms. Brent, Win7 is cleaned-up Vista. As you said, it's not bad. I'm migrating lots of PCs to it and it's a real challenge to bulk-install. Ah well. I see no-one was raptured from here last night.Big Smile I took the teen to his annual White Sox game - we had nice seats, saw them win and didn't get rained on. I held back from paying $7.25 for a beer. Celebrated the rare, beauty of a day after church by taking the youngest on his first extended bike trip today. My, the whining and complaining after a few miles... but he made it. Hope to play with trains later tonight.

Good evening all,

As good as Saturday was, Sunday was even better.  It rained, the sun came out, and it rained again in SE Indiana, but we were at IMS for a full day of Bump drama.  Got to see both Vitor and "Junky" get practice laps in, spent some time at the museum, saw many qualifying attempts and runs, and saw major bump action.  No other race features so much effort just to make the "show".  Nothing...no where.....never.  Scored two IZOD shirts that daughter and I will be wearing on Sunday.  Wife went along and we had a wonderful day together.   Today was the way Indy was the way I used to remember.....the way it was supposed to be.   Was sitting along the back stretch on one of the spectator mounds, and I was thinking, "Life IS good."   There was a sense of peace and serenity that came over me that had not been there in a long, long, long time.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Sunny, muggy 70's today.  Thunderstorms blew through in the late afternoon.  The heavy ones with tornados missed us.

Watched the F1 race in Spain.  Between the changes in the 'sporting regulations' and the tire management, the guy who ends up in the lead at the start is not as likely to win as in previous seasons.  The 'sporting regulations' kind of stack the deck against the lead car in ceratin passing zones on the track, as the overtaking car can change the angle of the rear wing, giving a slight speed advantage.

Got a head scratcher going in the basement.  There is a leak with no apparant source in the middle of the the floor.  No pipes above the puddle, the area directly above the puddle is in the middle of the dining room floor, which is dry.  No tell tale drips on the celing of the basement either.  Pipes near the puddle are dry as well.  Going to dry up the puddle ans see if it returns, noting things like bathroom use, weather, etc.  Gotta be coming from somewhere.

All for now.
