Morning all!

Sunny and bright here. 90 today (I think).

anjdevil - That's a fun movie. The one evening I do not check TCM and it comes on again. Rats.

Taking boat to dealer to get it "un-winterized". This is the latest I have done this this year. Storms and work delayed the "launch".

Glad all are well! Have a great day!

Good Afternoon !

Man, sure hope things settle down REAL FAST for everyone in the MidWest.  Prayers for all ! Angel  Having lived in both Tornado and Earthquake country.  All the agony of an impeding Tornado or a continuous Tornado Watch is soooo unnerving!!  Hope everyone comes through this OK !

Been working on some facades, not real happy with results will have to rethink situation and approach.  Also got into a little tit-tat regarding DCS and Remote Handheld Identify functionality on the other forum.  From my perspective I don't see where there is ANY benefit or attribute that is realized.  Will investigate it further.

So hope EVERYONE has a SAFE Day,  God Bless !!!!

Good morning all,

Prayers for the tonado victims.  Close friend lives 80 miles from where it hit in Joplin but they are OK.

Just when knee problem seems to be on the mend, another thing cropped up yesterday.  I had a kidney stone attack (have had several over the years) and had to go to ER for resolution.  I was treated and sent home last night.  Everything is OK today.  I don't want to go near a hospital for a while.

Looks like all kinds of fraternities are showing up on the coffee pot.  Haven't joined any so far.  Don't know how to add the avatars and logos anyhow.  I guess the grit eaters group will show up next.

later,

Ray

Home for a few hours.  Meeting tomorrow AM, physical at 1:30, come home, mow grass and hit the road.

Finished vinyl trim on building, pressure washed it and storm hit last night.  Covered with dirt up to three feet high.  Rewashed.  Would not dry [in this heat 90+] so I used leaf blower to blow it dry.  Painted this afternoon.

Fried fish for dogs and self.  Drove home.

Interesting day today.  Tornado warning at 11:30 in the morning.  All clear at 1pm.  An F1 or F2 had skipped through town.  Hit a mobile home park, a stretch of businesses, and a nieghborhood.  Property damage, but no serious injuries.  Missed my house by 10 or 12 blocks - was close enough that it left bits and pieces of somebody else's insulation and celing tiles on my lawn.

Rolled a semi into the front of our favorite Saturday morning resturant too Sad  That picture might have made the national news, it was on the Kansas City 6pm news.

Laz - they canceled the balance of the school year here - the tornado hit the school bus garage!

All for now.

Bill (8NT) - we heard about the school on the radio.  There were tornadoes in Harrisonville, where we have family, but everyone was okay.  We had huge storm here with tornados here and there and cells all over the place.  The closed work at 3:30 but let everyone stay in the building if they wanted.  I stayed put until 5:30 when it was past us, then drove home and took until almost 7 (usually 20 minute drive) due to accidents and stuff.  Glad to get home, that's for sure!  They were all in the basement again here, but nothing hit near us again, thank God.

Chief - you can both belong to both Smile

Ole Timer - so glad to see you again good buddy!  We sure miss you, come back more often!

Nice to see all those blue spinning Tardi!  Anybody want's to sign up, just PM me - it's for all us mad Potters Smile

Speaking of which, let's hit it guys - we have rootbeer, icecream, and Old Mills of course Smile

Good evening guys.  Wes, glad to see you stopping by.  Hope things are well in your neck of the woods.

Jack, you are correct on so many fronts.  We have taken much into making the decision.  We have many friends who home school and a good number of colleges are getting to accept home school students as they would traditional.  Nationally, home school students rank higher on achievement tests, but I think that is because so many schools are failing.  If you find yourself in a good school district, consider yourself lucky.  Our county system is rated very high, while the next county over is very poor.  They just hired a superintendent who's application looked like a first grader filled it out.  More misspelled words and grammar issues, and they make this guy lead their system?  Regarding the other issues of school systems, they have them in private schools too.  Fortunately, many of the school teachers and administrative folks go to our church and are godly people.  You can only pray that if your kid gets out of line that they are caught early, before it becomes a habit.

Well, I have a few cases I am hoping not to have to go back for.  With any luck, I will get some sleep tonight.  Been a rough week.
Roy, saw some bad weather down your way too.  Hope all is calm by now.  As for us, we have had high pressure keeping things both hot and dry here.  Need to get out and water our fruit trees.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good evening all,

The weather was somewhat pleasant today except for the winds.  Yesterday we had more tornado warnings, but nothing came too close to us this time.  Unfortunately, at least 10 people died throughout OK and many homes were destroyed.  Most of the folks who lost homes appeared resilient when interviewed which was nice to see.

I only have time for a short note tonight since it is already late and I need some sleep.  I'll catch up more tomorrow.

Good night,

Joe

Good Morning,

Worked late last night, decided to stop at my Mom's to check on her. She is 10 min. from our shop, I live an hour, so since I was beat I decided to spend the night there. She was watching American Idol and yes Chief Scotty won. I was so excited that I fell asleep and missed the Tardis.

Prayers and Thoughts for all of the victims of the recent Tornados and Flooding.

Time to get ready for the Safety Huddle.

Everyone have a great day,

John

Morning all.  Quick stop over as I am on the go....again.  Have a few bigger cases today and plenty to get done.  Joe, thought about you out there.  Tornadoes were one of the reasons we turned down a position in Enid.  We were looking at going, but they had a tornado and wife noted the report about how many they get out that way.  Having lived through one here, she was not too happy about the prospect.

My son and I have watched a few episodes of the training of Green Berets and also some of the other special operations teams.  The training is quite rigorous as you could imagine.  My daughter was in the room playing and at one point, she looked at the screen of a screaming instructor and said "why is he so mean?".

Hope everyone has a blessed day and a safe one.

Dennis

Good morning all,

It is sunny and today's high is 76.  There are no storms forecasted until next week.  I hope the storms go away since I will be making a trip to PA next week and the wife and kids cannot go with me this time.  I have a fair amount of tasks to finish at work today.  This evening is our daughter's ballet and jazz recital.

Dennis - Enid has some crazy weather besides the tornadoes so I don't blame you for passing up on a job out here.  We didn't have a choice since the Air Force owns me, but we believe God wanted us here anyway.

Chuck - Jack's Sox sure beat up on your Indians last night.  The Yankees won and maintained their spot on top of the AL East; however, it's only a half-game lead.

Good day,

Joe

Morning all!

Sunny here and maybe 90. Front came through and humidity is nice and low!

The rollup door where I store the boat jammed yesterday. With help from the storage facility manager we got the boat out and got the door closed. I meet the repair folks there at noon. Winds here for the weekend will be 10-20 mph - may not get much boating in...Grumpy...most lakes here have no natural windbreaks so it gets really choppy with 10-15 mph winds.

Still tired from all the travel machinations Tuesday.  Looking forward to the long weekend.

Busy day today. Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Lunch Time,

Beautiful day here in Central Jersey. Going into the 80's with a bit of wind.

Roy, Do not feel bad, I did not uncover the boats yet. I did charge the batteries for the 18' and ready the trailer. Saturday is get it ready day. I know all about wind in the 10 to 20 mi range. the bay when it blows we get a good chop and the inlet, forget about it. The 26' is another story. That is one sea worthy boat.

Everyone have a great day,

John

Pat, I will have to check with Don about how you loaded the BTTS logo assuming I qualify seeing as how I was born and raised in the South and like grits.  I think I could use some now.  Stomach has been bummed out last couple of days.  Probably too much medication with all my problems lately.

Aloha. Grey, rain-flecked and only... what? 46!!! Well, it's supposed to be 90s on Monday so go figure. Busy day 'homeworking' - I'm sure i'll be the only one working in Chicago tomorrow too.  Jack and Dennis, we've done different things with different kids here - private school, public school, and home-school. We'll be going back to the latter for our youngest next year. Nothing wrong with the schools, just like the flexibility of 'one-on-one' tutoring and my bride is very good at it. Those social 'workings'-out' you mentioned, Jack, are experienced in other group or peer settings. It all seems to work. Big Smile

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with rain off and on.  Long story short.  Bad storm came thru Hoosierland yesterday.  Although house received cosmetic damage for the most part,  two huge trees came down.  One wiped out the phone line.  I stayed home today to coordinate repair and insurance issues at our place.  Only internet I have is at work and local library for now.  Race day weather is supposed to be good.  Will be rooting for AJ's team, SFR, Swiss Miss, Bia and Pippa.  Will NOT be rooting for Team Red (Penske and Ganassi) or for the Princess either.  Might even pull for Sam Schmidt Motorsports as well and John Andretti.  Wish us luck with our recovery efforts.  Take care all and I will post when the opportunity arises.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
