Mornin' boys.  Clearing and 43 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  S'posed to gradually warm all week to the 60's.  Perhaps the groundhog got it right.

Shootout certainly had a different look to it last night.  Cars running around in pairs, instead of one solid pack.  But from my memory as a kid (Wide World of Sports and Car and Track) that was how they raced thru the 70's.  Ford announced it will race the Mustang in 2013, and I hope that Dodge follows suit with the Challenger.  Chevy and the Impala = Zzz (and I'm a bowtie-guy btw...)  Either way, wish I were in Daytona. Sigh

Morning all woke up feeling like crap so didn't go into work today. Think I got a major cold coming on. Been fighting it off for about a week with minor sore throat but got up this am and just couldn't function and starting to get runny nose so here we go I guess. I'll be alright taken some meds already for it.

not a lot going on here made a couple of mistakes last night while painting my PRR passenger car so have to figure what my next step is going to be. either repaint the whole outside or see if I can get some of the run over removed ( in the windows) at least I did remove the plastic befor starting to paint. other wise its looking good but I'm going to have to figure another way to do this as painting with bush and its taking about 4 coats to cover it. The paints I bought were the testor paints we used as kids to paint models ( my thinking was well it did great on those plastic models as kids) well for some reason doesn't seem to be covering like it use to lol. Will have to figure where to get decal (dry transfer) for the sides that says PENNSYLVANIA and need numbers also. never really liked the green color on the bottom of these cars and on the trucks i believe i need to paint the truck sides black anyway. olive green just don't look right to me. guess need to get a airbrush and practice with it for a few days on different things to get the idea of the use of it and maybe use it to paint the exterior of the car and the sides of the trucks so I can get paint and mix it to how I want the color to look seeing I'm not going to find the correct color at the store. And it will be a better looking job this one was one just to get the idea of it with and believe I still can get it looking fair to pretty good just depending on the angle you look at it .

Well its 39 outside right now but suppose to get up to 64 today.

Mouse messed up on me last night on putor the left button doesn't want to work so went into controls and switched the buttons around so now I'm using the right button to do my main clicking. lol.

Well guess its time to try and get some breakfast. Will talk toy u all later hope all is well with all and now that chief as a small arsenal in his closet guess we all are safe at night

Good Morning

Cloudy and 34, a little snow overnight but it's above freezing so no big deal. TTOS show today, the one where we do more chatting than buying. Charlie is coming with us today, should be fun. No breakfast yet as I'm on my own this morning...S.J.

It is 37 degrees and we too are going to see 45, but the wind is supposed to be howling.

The Buckeye Rug Runner Railroad is working perfectly.  We have an oval about 12' long in the living room.  The Beep is pulling a string of cars.

Ran the trains yesterday, everything there is working perfect.   I have some lighted buildings I want to connect to the power feeds.

It is 36 degrees. Going up to 45 today with some sunshine. That's an improvement.

Today is an easy day. I plan on relaxing in the train room this afternoon. Watched the Daytona Nascar race last night. Lots of speed. 207m.p.h.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast. Then, it was off to all "Points West".

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Nice and warm in Tucson compared to last week on the mountain. Managed to get quite a bit done today including cleaning up the front and back yards and a few projects around the house. Sold some parts for the Jeep that I still had as well. Hoping tomorrow after church to get some of the sheetmetal cleaned up for the Corvair engine. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Rich - I can see you running around in your tightie whities playing Old Time Rock and Roll at 11 on the sterio Laugh

Whole family (including Char) went to visit my Mom and Dad today.  He got his PIC line out and with luck will get a new knee replacement in just a few weeks.  This was my wife's first long day out, away from the house.  We were out for hours as we visited, then let my son (birthday boy tomorrow) pick out Fudruckers for dinner.  We ended up at gamestop and then Borders, before finally coming back home.  Char did very well and was only a little tired when we finally got home.

Got on the computer very late and missed SJ, thought he was off on a trip tonight.  But, had a nice chat with Charlie, and I'm sure they will have a lot of fun tomorrow.

I found out HULU has a lot of old shows from when I was a kid, so I've been watching some Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea episodes - what hokey fun!

Prayers for MIke, Joe's child with RSV, and others who need it.

Tardis is ready, so let's hit it!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening guys...

It's cold now going up to 40 tomorrow clear and sunny...alledgedly...Whistling

ICS class was interesting....of course I was the senior guy in the class of 7...and the highest ranking officer and the only one (except for the instructor) with ICS experience.  Missed 3 out of 23...not bad.

Watching the FOX broadcast of the Shootout and naturally, they have no clue about the double duece, who had been running midpack and now runs with the "media darlings" the Hendrick crew and Stewart...the Dodge is CLEARLY a better race car...

The 24 HRS of Daytona signals the opening of another year of racing...and I will be back at my old haunts in Englishtown as time and MONEY permits.  Winternationals this weekend as well....Remember Mopar or NO car (put a DODGE in yer GARAGE!!)

I took my Bachmann HO NYC 2-6-0 out of it's package and it's a nice piece, but NO sound and NO smoke in a (retail) set that costs $450 ?  Yeah, it has DCC and all that, but.....

Angel Char, Mike C & family......

Fife .... nice.... no CITGOs here locally....Laugh

Parents are gone until Thursday, so I'll be around a little more...computer is available if you know what I mean..

OK guys check ya later...

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 40s.  Spent the day with the grandson.  We played foosball, played with building logs, chased the Honda train thru Greensburg, and ran the 384E with a few pileups due to wires getting tangled up.  Took care of some financial matters this morning and picked up a lot of limbs that came down last week with ice storm.  Daughter and I will use chain saw tomorrow to take care of last big one.  Busy day.  Took wife out to eat last night.  We needed a break.  Thank you all again for prayers and support.  I had bacon and biscuits on dining car for breakfast.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on trainng,

Aloha. Sunny and 32. Took the youngest sledding after church. Now to chores. We have a Hobby Lobby too - never opened on the Sabbath. Most of their train items aren't carried anymore.

Last night's big shindig went well. This school is an oasis in the desert that unfortunately is Chicago's West Side. Lots of flashing blue light security cameras. Folks hanging out on the corners. That sort of thing. Bid on some auction things. Spent too much, all for a good cause

Afternoon all!

The significant other is down with a cold this morning. I made bacon and pancakes to cheer her up.

44 this morning, sunny, and headed to 60's today. 70's predicted for next 5 days!!!! The big ice sheet in on the back patio is slowly slowly melting.

Chores around the house today, quick shopping trip with Ms. to get some sheers for the new front entry-to-living rm doors.

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Good morning all,

The warmer weather has begun and all the snow we had is quickly melting away.  It will hit the upper-50s today and tomorrow and then slowly ascend towards the mid-70 by the end of next week.  We had a quiet Friday last night and did not do much.  The two older kids have just about recovered from the colds, but yesterday we found out the baby has RSV.  He probably got it from one of the older two.  He is on antibiotics and cannot leave the house for a few days.

I slept in late today and had chocolate cake for breakfast.  Today, I plan to build a couple of buildings I recently acquired.  I will probably run the trains for a bit as well since it is warming up.

Banks - We have a Hobby Lobby.  The wife is there right now.  I started shopping there once I found out they have many train-related items.  They often have big discounts and coupons which has saved me much money.

Have a great day,

Joe

Mornin' All.

Waffles & bacon finished, now just kind of procrastinating the kitchen cleanup. Munchkin spent the nite so when ever he's here for breakfast we have is favorite. He's got a touch of the crud, Mommy & Daddy have it bad so we suggested he spend yesterday, last nite and most of today w/us so they could get some recuperative time. I think my "better half" is getting it now, guess who will probably be next. Sigh

Yesterday at the museum was a miserable day, system issues all day long. Grumpy Followed by the worst traffic I have ever seen here, normal transit time of 1/2 to 1 hour became 2 and 1/2 hour purgatory.

Later all, need to refill the Coffee.

Morning all.  Worked late last night as we had a emergency case.  All went well and got home to find the kids still awake and wired!  Sat up with them for awhile and then we all hit the sheets.  Caught a bit of the news....hope Egypt doesn't turn out like Iran did in '79.  Lots of similarities.

Just watched a DVD we got from NetFlix.  THis one was on "The Wizard of Photography", it is the story of George Eastman.  He was quite the entrepreneur, but had a sad end to things.  Just shows that one can be quite successful and still not have the inner peace and happiness that many think will come with more money or prestige.

Now that Chief has his arsenal secured, do you think he is out enjoying some of them weapons?  Or are they now pieces of art to look good????  Just kidding Chief.  Looks like a nice project and I wish you well in the shooting sports.  Have a friend who is at the regional pistol championship up in FT. Benning....on his wife's birthday.  If he does well, he advances to the nationals...that is if his wife doesn't kill him for leaving town on her special day!

Gonna enjoy the day with the family....if the hospital leaves me alone that is.

God Bless<
Dennis

Hello all,

Cheapclassics,,  you and your family are in my prayers

Busy week, Grand kids visited a couple of hours last evening while their folks went to have their taxes  done. We'll have them again tomorrow evening due to a wedding reception. Trains have been and will be run.

Not much planned for the weekend. Son will be snowmobiling. I must attend the funeral of a friend / co-workers mom tomorrow morning. Balance of the weekend will be spent on things put off by cold and fighting the CRUD the last couple o' weeks.

Big warm up next week. Hope the snow will be all gone. Actually got above freezing here today. First time for that in a while

Began an estimate to convert a former grocery store to a HOBBY LOBBY this week. Are any of you familiar with them?

I'm tuckered out. Heading to join my lovely Mrs in bed.

Prayers for those in need

RT - I did, and it does appear in my account area. When I talked to Ebay they said it was the sellers option as to where to send it to regardless of your choice. Seems they are passing the buck. But as I stated before, I'll use precaution in the future by contacting the seller. Shouldn't be a problem anymore, I hope.

Jack - I often send items to John's house. Birthday and Christmas presents for my wife or kids! (And the occasional treat! Whistling
