Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 7 degrees. Going up to 24 today with cloudy skies. Global warming, huh ????

Today is a busy day. I have an errand to run and the usual chores around the house. Later, I will relax and take a short nap. Spring is coming.

Chief...Better watch the weather.

Dining car was here with Cheerios for breakfast. Then, it was bound for all "Points West".

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Been following the NS clean-up in OH after the ethanol train explosion earlier this week. Quite an efficient clean-up.

Yes, REB attack missed target.  OSU Whistling

Morning.  Sunny and cool.  May get a flurrie or two tonight but nothing to stick.  In fact, sun is warming things quickly.  Off to Lowes to frown and take back rope light.  Then do some cleaning up of walk-in and office.  Put rest of ammo in safe.

Demay, just watched [DVR'd] Foxpro's Fast and Furious.  Hunting coyotes and bobcats in OK.

BTW: attended our Republican County meeting last night.  Got roaring applause when I was introduced.  Now working on another Mayor buddy to change his registration.  We have always been one but never registered that way.

RT - Some of our Northern friends need to take those Grits cooking classes. May convert some of them to be Grits Lovers.

Don - I am all packed and ready to leave. Before I leave I have a question - is your neighbor going to entertain? I assume the pole you are greasing is hers.WhistlingDevil

Aloha. Well, the ole van started last night at 10 after sitting 17 hours in the subzero. It's a balmy 4. At least the suns out. Get to go fill out the crowd at a fancy hotel lunch today so that should be fun. Been following the NS clean-up in OH after the ethanol train explosion earlier this week. Quite an efficient clean-up. Hope all stay warm and dry.

Good morning all,

It is cold in SE Indiana.  Meeting with caregiver went well, and no incidents were reported last night.  Wife takes dad to doctor today.  May find out more about his condition, and doctor will talk to dad about hospice as well.  Watched "Glee" and V last night.  Perhaps too much TV lately.  Perhaps I need to start going back to Y.  Work was busy.  I hope to be caught up on case reports today.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime and I can drive.  May need de-icers for tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evening All !

POST Super Bowl Party Update -  Neighbors on the other side caught wind of the planned event, they have notified the local constables and hence there has been nightly patrols going on.  (No Kidding)  According to Kay there have been 4-6 squad cars in the neighborhood all day!  Even a fire truck.  So time is becoming critical don't know how long will be able to keep the lid on things, so better get going soon!

Doug M - To get here, back out of driveway, turn left go 1,985 miles, then turn left again, another 235 miles, then turn right go 3 blocks, and we are the 3rd house on the right.

Banks - To Far You Say??  This event is only held ONCE a year, well worth the travel.  And as a secondary benefit you will even be able to get thawed out!  Consider it theraputic!

The entertainment crew have been out practicing for the past two evenings.  I did hear some arguing going on about whether they were going to use lard or bear grease on the pole.  All the lights are in place so it should be a good showing.  The food is ready, BBQ has plenty of fuel, so we're ready!  Just don't delay can't hold everyone off for long.  Suggest getting the Tardis in warp speed. Brutus   We have your seat reserved, and made special arrangements for Char.  (Got some tours lined up Automobile so she won't be bored with funky neighbors, Blindfold  No concern about the ice cream, ("We have butter pecan and choc chip cookie dough icecream, as well as Famous Banilla"} I'm assuming of course it is FRENCH Banilla.  I don't think the CHIEF will make it, I heard he has himself painted into a corner, and can't get out.  (He wanted to put a new door in the closet using the shotgun to help air it out.  But I reminded him that was on his neighbors side, and he have to watch him in his shorts all the time, so he decided to wait until the paint is dry.)

In the meantime everything is normal here.  Honda in the shop for a new timing belt, 2 laptops taken in for new monitors, (think they got stepped on, probably neighbors.)  And 1 desktop in for virus scrubbing.

Still working on the layout (friends), Got the table modified for the addition of a 54" track, and Engine Yard design completed.  Should start landscaping next week.  It is really going to be FABULOIS !  I've been wrestling down what I thought was an electrical problem, but found it is mechanical.  Have a curved Ross 54 switch, and running a Rail King Big Boy thru it, and its stops midway.  Determined that since the switch is on a slight elevation and resulting being on a grade, the spring assembly on the rear coupler is actually binding in the switch frog.  So working that out.

Buckey - Visited your web site, and it is more awesome than ever!  Recommended it to a couple of people, as to what can be done for free with Shutterfly.  I've started one but havn't gotten very far with it.  Did put up the pics from the last year's Car Exchange, but not much else.

Weather is suppose to get a little cooler, may down to the mid 60's, Doug W and Ray, have you guys heard anything about rain coming in?  I havn't.  Maybe this will give SubmBob a chance to warm up and dry off.

Calling it a day, long day planned for tomorrow.  Pick up car, computers, a couple of service call, and a presentation in the evening.

Take care

Don

Cold cold cold in Saint Louis and some snow tomorrow (tonight too?), but nothing like we have had recently.  I'm signed up to give training starting Thursday and Char has doc appointments on Monday and Tuesday, so not sure how this is going to work out.  I guess they will just have to extend it a few days or have someone else do the training.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers guys, it seems like this has gone on and on forever now, but things seem to be looking up more and more now Smile

Good evening all, It's about 8 degree outside right now and the snow is blowing sideways again. Yes, the wonderful Oklahoma winds are causing the snow to blow sideways which will create some huge drifts. The schools have already cancelled for tomorrow and I do not have to report to work until noon. The only downside is the kids are a bit under the weather so I will have to play in the snow by myself tomorrow. Brutus - That is awesome news! I did not run any trains tonight, but hope to tomorrow if it's not too cold in the garage. Good night, Joe

Good Evening from the Jersey Shore,

It started out when I left for work this morning at 5:15 at 42. It is supposed to be 14 tonight. No snow or any percipitation in the forecast for the next 10 days. Watch us get a blizzard.

RT, youre right, it stinks to be on train restrictions.

The fire feels great in the wood stove.

Prayers and Thoughts for all in need.

Good Evening

23 and bright sun all day

My news of the day: Finally got a call through to the retired federal employees agency. Got my withholding tax  back to last years rate. So now my only step backwards is bluecross which of course none of us can do anything about. Banilla is ready for those warm enough to want some but I'm eating the last piece of cherry pie before you get here. Ha....S.J.

Brutus......that was some great news on Char!!!!!!!!  We shouldn't go to Don's because he'll have us mowing his lawn and cleaning his swimming pool.  And in February, that just isn't right.

MikeC......was glad to hear you were able to find a caregiver for your Dad, and one you feel good about.

Chief.....if you are feeling neglected and out of the loop, we can always have some snow trucked down to you.  Where do you want it, home or at the lake house? Big Smile

LAZ......what is the legal drinking age for dogs in PA? Beer

The trucks hauling the Red sox gear to Florida left Fenway today.  Thumbs Up  But single digit temperatures return tomorrow.  Thumbs Down

Later, gang.

Good afternoon all,

After two days of almost Spring like weather, we actually had some rain last night (as in liquid precipitation), it is back to the deep freeze for the next week.  Hope everyone is doing well, it has been a while since I checked in here.

Have a great week.

Good morning all!

Sunny and cold today at 32 - headed to 50/54. Then ice and snow tonight starting at midnight supposedly. This snow event has gone from rain and flurries to a blizzard in just a couple of days according to the weather pundits. We'll see.

Brutus - Great news about Char! We will keep those prayers going!

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Regards, Roy

Aloha all. Arctic air has arrived. Flurries too. Ah well. Just part of the season. Hope the ole van fires up late tonight when I get off the train. Char Yes

The train is spectacularly ornamented with ice and snow these days: trucks, cabling, couplers, door diaphragms, roof, engine front. Too cold for the camera though.

Don, I'm on my way to your Super Bowl party. Which way am I heading again? Wink

Wow, forgot to post yesterday. Was so busy finishing the "project" and then working on lighting the gun safe, forgot to post.  Came home from Town Board and crashed.  Wifey is home rest too.  Her quote was, "You are use to over doing it and getting too tired.  I'm not."  Sunny and cooler.  Had some little showers late yesterday.  Might have some light flurries Wed. night and then into the 60's for days.

Buckeye Riveter

Ethanol Train blew up after it derailed in NW Ohio, just south of Toledo.  Train was from Chicago and was heading to the Carolinas.

More snow today.  Storm

REB raid was a sucess!!!!!!

NJ has four seasons???  OH, that is four guys in a black lemo with violin cases. Whistling

OUTSTANDING CHAR!!!!!

Now to finish gun safe and do ribbon cutting at new BoJangles.

Later.
