Someone Leave a Note on the Chief's Fridge.
Tomorrow's Finally March 1st. New Thread Due,
Thanks Sir J. Just got on computer.
Had to travel down east to pickup a nice some of $$$$$$$$$. Worth the trip.
Bought new Garmin GPS for pickup truck. Had one but no Bluetooth. This one has it so handsfree phoning. Found out you pay $89.99 for lifetime map updates. Signed up. Took over an hour to reload updates to GPS and maps [even with RR high speed internet]. Actually notice more things to select now and maps up to date.
Big winds earlier. Then bad storms hit followed by much needed rain . Still raining some.
Now for TV and popcorn after starting a fresh pot of coffee.

RockIsland52 Jack, thanks for your thoughts re my leg pain and train pain. I have an appointment with my regular doctor tomorrow afternoon and expect that he will probably refer me to a specialist if it is something he can't deal with.
As far as the ACL E6 A-B-A set, I have put them aside for a while to make up my mind if I want to spend any more money on them. The thing that bothers me is that it is one of my favorite road names. I saw a set of FEC E6 engines with the same kind of problem mine has sell on E bay. Of course the seller only got about one third of what he paid for them but I guess it is better than nothing for an engine that needs repairs.
Got a tip from RT and Laz about the new Williams Norfolk Southern executive engines. I might go for them. They are conventional so at least no electronic problems with that. I already have an AA set of Williams ACL E7 units which I have put back in service to replace the B/O E6 model. They run great! I just wish Williams would get the purple right.

Ray

Laz and Rt, I got the message. Thanks a bunch for the information. I will try to order them now.
Good Evening
35 today, some snow melt but the ground is still covered. I waited too long about making a purchase, A Lionel Lionmaster Legacy NYC SD90 from a set breakup. I called the store today and it was gone. Oh well York is coming. Banilla is ready and the beacon is humming...S.J.

Morning all!
60 here and partly cloudy. A little warmer tomorrow. Yesterday was very noce although I did not do much. Still a bit under the weather today. Taking it easy and working from home.
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Good morning all,
It was a busy past few days for me. On Friday, I completed a 14-hour roundtrip drive to Pine Bluff, AR, and back to swap out some equipment. The drive went well, but it wore me out. On Saturday, I completed house chores during the day and relaxed with the family at night. We started a game of Star Wars Monopoly, but had to pause it due to it being late. On Sunday, we went to church then finished the Monopoly game. The 7y/o son won. I did not complete any layout work this past weekend, but I was able to run the trains last night.
It was cold this morning when I woke up to run; it felt like 18 degrees with strong winds. It is sunny now and the high is 55.
I need to get back to work. Have a great day.
Joe
Jack, the bride appreciates your concern. She's better. it rained overnight here and then froze so everyone skated to work. I guess I'd take it over your snow. Snowiest Feb. ever in Chicago (since 1870-something). Most of ours is gone.Metra removed longstanding rules on its West (formerly Burlington) line that shares so much freight. It used to hold freights and other scoots from entering a station when one train was unloading. Now, with some new signage and fencing, they can roll through and have multiple trains in one station at the same time. Should be interesting. My line hardly has any freight anymore.
Does anyone use similar rules when 'operating' on your layout?

Good Mornin Ya'll from Warming and Rainy Taxachussetts,
Seems like a lot of us are having a time of it with all of the water. We got another 7 inches of snow yesterday and then the temps dropped into the low 20s. Snowblower made short work of most things, shovelled the rest. Mounds made somewhat of a comeback, lawn still covered with about 2-3' and the mounds still 5-6' in depth. Temps hit 28 by sunrise, 33 now and maybe 40 later, and rain all day today. So our flooding should commence. Locally, a lot of the street drains need work, covered in ice and snow.
Got to babysit the grandkids Saturday afternoon through dinner until about 9PM. Fun and smooth sailing until the daughter and SIL showed up to spend some time and then take them home. Kiddies have their number, but Grammy and Grampy have the kiddies' number.
DougM......hope the wifey is feeling better.
RaySP......hope your leg is better today. Too much hopscotch or not enough scotch? Sorry to hear about the continuing engine issues. It must be pretty discouraging.
Chuck.......what will you do if the wifey locks you in the train room?
Dennis.......which DSLR camera do you have and which lens did you pick up? If the zoom is good enough DonB might be able to put it to good use and post some pics.
Mitch.....hoping this was your last snow day? Dream on.
Chief, and MikeC.......prayers for you two as you wrangle with these estate things. When all else fails, and
Fife.....I am shocked. Thought your wifey would be seriously conflicted about Yankees after meeting some of us great Nawtheners.
DougDG.......sorry to hear that the crud is hanging on with both you and your better half. It must be the warm temperatures, you need to move to snow country.
8N.......stay on the wifey re the walker. remind her she doesn't want to develop a permanent limp or overtax her back. The handcuffs are a great fall back measure and can come in handy later on.
SJ........meditation and contemplation is NOT goofing off.
Rich.....was glad to hear that things continue to fall into place for you. The past year has been quite the roller coaster ride for you, but one by one you keep chopping down those obstacles.
HudsonJohn........will you be making your rounds by boat today?
Later Gang,
Jack
PS: Jeff Gordon isn't going to starve any time soon, regardless of how he finishes.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Good Morning
Low 30s all day
We got rain last night instead of snow. February"s snow fall was the 2nd highest amount of ANY month since records were kept. That's one record I coulda done without. Breakfast of eggs, hash, browns and toast, no lunch today...S.J.
Aloha. Happy Monday. How things change for JG! Glad he won though. Glad to have given our pastor and his bride a break last night. Brutus, that's a great plan for the kids to learn good cooking - and eating. Roy, hope you're feeling better; a day in the chair watching races sounds healthful.
Mornin' boys. Apparently all day here in the Mid-Atlantic region.
8ntruck - S&W makes quality handcuffs.
dougnotta - Rusty Scupper ain't exactly the Horn & Horn. Best dining view of the Inner Harbor. And they accept all major credit cards.
Mitchie - Funny how things have changed for JG in a decade. He was truly amazed and touched by the cheering grandstand. Seems like yesterday fans were chucking beercans at his windshield during his victory laps.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a heavy rain 44 degrees. Lots of wind. Tornado warnings until 1 pm. Going down to 35 by this afternoon. Gheeeez.
Today I am staying home. Wife has to go out and run a few errands, later. She will be in a good mood. Maybe I'll hide in the train room.
Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck
Hi GUYZ,
45 and rainy here to get to 58. No trains last nite.
Stay frosty,

Morning to All,
Loved the NASCAR race - #24 Jeff Gordon was fast when it counted. Hope it's not 66 more races until he gets to Victory Lane again.
The Mrs. watched the Oscars. Not sure why, but i stayed up too. I'll pay for it later this afternoon when I am dragging.
Better get going. Take care.

It is windy in SE Indiana (Chief and Buckeye must be talking). Wife watched the Oscars last night. I see where Jeff Gordon finally won again. I had the regular fare plus a cinnamon roll on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL anytime. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
We've seen just about all types of weather here this weekend - everything from 4" of snow and temps in the 20's to 60's and thunderstorms today.
Home care nurse and therpast have stopped by to see my wife. She is proceeding nicely, though the PT is painful. Fife - where can I get some handcuffs? She keeps forgetting to use her walker. I've threatened ot cuff it to her.
Nothing new with the trains.
All for now.
Buckeye Riveter What is all that blathering racket from Roseyville this morning? Here in Buckeyeland where the birds are singing we don't want to hear all that noise from his HONOR. Is there a way to set a default font on the forum?

Wish those Buckeye folks would get their "geo" right. I wasn't in Roseyville but Concord NC.
Finally home and got things settled. Popcorn and TV now.
Real warm. In the 50's. Sleep tight.
Had a nice talk with RT today on the phone and man he sent me some pics of his pineapple upside down cake that look great Hope they get your appointments rescheduled, man!
Just did laundry today and goofed off. Helped daughter cook some fried chicken. She is learning, although I think she would rather be doing something else! Each kid now knows how to cook one meal. Next, we will start on another meal and then maybe some deserts or something. Basic skills
TARDIS is ready and I can drive. Can't wait to get some of that banilla tonight!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Evenin' All.
Well we didn't get any snow here, close but no cigar as they say. Did have a good deal of rain that ended and cleared about midnite, followed by some ice on most everything this morning.
Looks like Shutterfly is having some issues today, can't bring it up in my browser and SPF has some red x's for Shutterfly users.
Fife, With a name like "Rusty Scupper" the last thing I would think of is food.
The better half and I are still battling this crud, it just does not want to go away.
Later all, what little is left of my mind just ain't fully functional tonite.

Good evening everyone. It has been a long few days and now I can finally get on here. On Friday, I got a nice new camera lens that will allow me to take some good shots from a helicopter on our tour of the Grand Canyon. The daytime temps have been in the low 80s here and blue sky. Saturday, wife and I took the kids to the Planetarium and the local history museum. Was a full day of it and we had plenty of fun. After morning church, took family out to the local zoo and play park for a picnic. Just one of those great weekends. After tonight's church service, came home and relaxed with a little dinner and fun with the family. Time for bed. Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead.

Hudson - There are several 4star hotels right around the Inner Harbor, but you will pay out the wah-zoobie. Harbor Place is a trendy mall, but serious shopping should be done at Towson Towne Center. Also, nice shopping and restaurants up in Hunt Valley. For spectacular meals, try the Rusty Scupper, and Fogo de Choa, both at the Inner Harbor area.
37 and rain expected over night.
I had dinner at the church, over ate as usual. It's the dessert's that get me. The assistant pastor was voted in as senior pastor as expected. I'm still full but banilla is ready for the thingy guys. Brutus the Lionel beacon is spinning....S.J.
Good Evening from the Jersey Shore,
We went to the World's Greatest Hobby on Tour in Edison today. It was packed. We got there early and by the time we left, I never saw the Expo Center that jammed. The vendor's were complaining that they were not selling anything. Most of their prices were out of this world. My son and I enjoyed our selves. He picked up a few police cars to add to his collection. He is 18 now and he has been doing this since he was about 6. He wants to be a NJ State Trooper and he is planning his education and life to hopefully become one.
Fife, I finally got the address of the new Office Depot. It is 815 Pratt Street. My wife and her plan to go to the Inner Harbor. Are there any good places to stay closer to there? They want to sight see and shop. Fife, is your wife into the Longaberger Baskets also? The problem here is that a friend of my wife sells them and my wife has a hard time saying NO. She has not seen her friend lately and the baskets stopped. Nice but expensive.
Navy Jack and I had some great conversations this weekend. We both like the S1 & S2 electrics.
AF53, Ray, another package was delivered here.
Thoughts and Prayers to all in need
John
Good evening all,
It is a partly cloudy but mild day in SE Indiana with temps in the 50s. Picked up sticks in the yard and washed the PT Cruiser. Took inventory of items in dad's tong box. Mom had her tax returns from 1948 in there. Don't think they will be audited :-) Wife will be spending night in front of tbe watching Oscars. I had cinnamon rolls for breakfast this morning. TBIL and I can drive again. Back to work tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Well I see laz answered you with the same answer I did as a conversation so at least you know who but he does state back ordered on his site
SPMan laz 57: RAY, The NS F3 by WBB were the Executive Set. Nice set in conventional. The thing I like on them are the silver vents on the side of the units. Like the real thing. laz57 I wonder if that dealer has any left or where else could I look? Ray
