Hey Don:    Idea about radio. i don't know what kind of car you have but, most modern cars  Automobile   have a code acessed through the radio buttons. make sure your radio has power and just find the sequence it requires. it's either several buttons pushed together or some other combo. easy to find on the net.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear and sunny 36 degrees. Going up tp 55 today with sunshine.

Today is an easy day. I have a little paperwork to do and the usual chores. Then I will read the copy of Classic Trains mag, I just received. Had a filler with it called Classic Train Stations. Looks good.

Dining car is here with the usual Cheerios breakfast. Then, off to all "Points West".

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Mornin' Fellas.

Needless to say I'm quite disappointed with a certain establishment in Georgia. Seriously, these things shipped from Lionel TWO MONTHS AGO!!!!!!

LAZ - nice layout. Are you able to run all of the scale steamers on all the loops, or are you restricted to outside loop opperation for the Big Guns?

Good Evening All !!

First of all, just how many a years "Do You" celebrate, Buckeye ?  But its OK with me, I'll just wish you another anyway.  And hope you have many more.  (Would suggest you spread them out some, you would benefit more.)

Jack, (et al). The next page of the "Headlight Saga", as it turned out I had to remove the car battery to get to the bulb.  So after replacing BOTH bulbs, and putting it all back together, figured I would get a lot of "Thanks Dad!".  Buttt Noooooooo !  I get instead,....... You know Dad that the Radio, CD Player doesn't work anymore since you disconnected the batter!  The radio needs a "code" number and I dont know where to find it."  Heck, I didn't even know they had those things!  So I got an old transistor radio I had and hung it from the mirror.

Now don't anyone get upset, a little "Primer" on the "Log engines".  It took me practically a year to get them straightened out as to which is which.  So you old hats just ignore.

I didn't bother looking up the history on them, but it is VERY enteresting for them all.  I thought Laz drives one in the summer for tourists.  But here they are:

The one I just got is the Climax -  Probably my favorite.  The Cylinders are at an angle, and there is a "Flywheel thingy" that rotates backwards.  It turns a set of gears mounted on an axle between the two wheel sets.  The gears inturn drive a drive shaft, that connects the trucks.  The tracks have another set of gears and of course axles.  It is extremely fun to watch.  The wheel and side rods are going backwards, and the drivers are turning forward.

The "Shay" has pistons on the right side, and they are connected to a drive shaft, which in turn is on the right side wheels. (Only)  It too provides for a lot of excitment when running, (from one side only.) MTH has put these below as 3 truck and 4 truck units.

And the Heisler,

The drive is from the Center of the engine, and appears like a big crankshaft in the middle.  The drive shafts are connected to that.  Also impressive.  Im not aware of anything being built in O scale.

This is a HO image.

I really liked all the caring comments about dogs and cats. Animals are so often abused its nice to see people care. We are expecting a four  day rain storm, but cant complain about weather compared to our friends in the east. I did get woken up by the hospital tonight, and that is why I am posting so late.

DON    BEAUTIFUL LITTLE SHAY OR CLIMAX.  GREAT PICS TOO. NAR, I THINK ITS A CLIMAX

BRUTUS   Sorry about your wives tooth WHAT A BUMMER, but i am thrilled about her transplant going well.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 50s.  Snohio is just about all gone.  Dad rested well the night before.  He has been getting a few visitors, which he enjoys.  We watched "Gunsmoke" last night.  Last night was TV night with Glee and V.  Hope they both get better soon.  Work was busy again.  May try to scrimmage with high school kids in soccer tonight.  Depends on a lot of factors.  Street department picked up all the tree limbs I stacked out front yesterday.  Massive quantities.  One of the car pool people is driving the other two of us a bit crazy with her constant reshuffling of schedule.  May have to address that issue.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL anytime and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Been above freezing here since Saturday.  The snow is going away in a hurry.

My wife's knee replacement surgery has been moved up a week.  Did the tour of the hospital and doctor's offices today for the pre-operation admission stuff.  Just waiting for the day now.  Another round of doctors tomorrow for anothe back surgery check up.  She just finished PT and her back is doing well.

Stopped by the LHS Saturday.  Picked up a 2011 ready to run catalog.  Seems bigger than last year's.  Couple three items that I might be interested in ordering.

Work is still crazy.  The machine we have down for a major rebuild is causing havoc with the production schedule.  The new product sample runs I'm working with are very difficult to get worked into the schedule.  Got one running tonight.  Going to stay up for a while yet, just in case I get a call.  Would rather get woken up from reclinerizing, than from deep sleep in bed.

All for now.  Probably back in a few days.

Good night all.  Reclinerized for a long time.  Wifey came in from ladies' Bible study.  Said high and went back to sleep.  Went to find Kitty Kitty and couldn't.  Checked upstairs and she was in the bed up there.  Wifey had let her in.  She now sleeps upstairs in one of the guest bedrooms.  Dogs were barking all over the community.  Maybe coyotes stiring them as moon is getting full.

NJ, great son you have.

Hudson, sounds like you are getting a "doggy house" like us.

Buckeye, just like you trying to get more presents from us guys.  I always send you nice presents. Whistling

Good evening all,

I don't have much to report here: we had pasta for dinner and leftover Valentine's Day cupcakes for dessert.  The boys and I ran the trains for a short bit; the baby was having too much fun so we stopped a little sooner.  After the kids went to sleep, the wife and I prepared for tomorrow night's Bible study class.  It's now time for bed.

Navyjack - All the best to your son, I'm sure you're very proud.  I hope everything works out with your deck – heck, just let it go until your son comes back from school and he can rebuild it for you Smile, Wink & Grin.

Good night,

Joe

Don - sweet engine!

Well the tooth will out, but not today.  Doc thought he had enough to pull on, so he gave her some local shots.  Put the clamp on and started, but it was too painful, so he quit.  He said he would try again next week.  So, disappointed, we went to run a few errands and then grabbed a lunch at Imo's Pizza.  You guessed it - the tooth cracked off now way down deep.  So, tomorrow the other doc in the practice will cut it out and they'll do anesthetic if necessary, it has to come out.  Of course, that's what we thought they would do today!  What a snafu.

Since I was off all day, I went ahead and did our taxes while the kids were still in school.  Then Char had PT and an at-home nurse evaluation.  They took a sample for CDIF, hope she doesn't have it!

Stan the Man got his medal.  Still not sure why he got it, but he's a local favorite and apparently a very generous and nice guy.

TARDIS is ready of course and some peanuts and syrup will be great on the banilla, so belly up boys!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening all

Watching the dog show on TV, so is our Snachouser, or how ever you spell it!

The a-Kooskin came in last night.  Took it apart and cleaned it oiled it and with a little work the motor works fine.  Going to keep an eye out for a reproducer.  Does anyone know if the later reproducers will work in the a-Kooskin?  My 755 talking station is boxed up and not easy to get to.  Before buying one I'll find out.

Prayers for the needs

May God bless

Good Late Evening Gents,

Old Business: Jack..the atrocities that face our animal friends (read: Cats and Dogs) are inhuman.  My family makes it their business to feed and spay/neuter those feral cats and adopt those that are adoptable.  We are "cat" people but have had canines in the family.  We had Big Cat, a black and gray Tiger and Baron Von Richtoffen a German Shepard.  The both got along famously.  But if Richtoffen got a little "rough" with Big, a swat across the muzzle, claws bared usually got his attention.

Just getting home from work and fire meeting...I LOVE meetings Bang Head......

Colder tonight wind gone and, thankfully, no calls last night.  Maybe get another full nights rest in before tomorrow.

DonB - Nice Shay or is that a Climax...Whistling

I think we've had over the past 3 days more wind than we will get the rest of the month! Whew!

Hudson#685 - I'll be working both Thur and Fri nights but should be home by 8:30ish, let me know if it works for you! Thanks!

Nice Valentines Day. Worked late until 7:30 and called the wife to see "where do you want to go for dinner?" Oh well, she wasn't feeling too good and ask me to stop by the local diner, one of our favorite places to eat, and pick up her a dinner to go! No problem, and since she rarely eats it all I guess I bought todays lunch as well. What else can WE do????

Don Baker - Your middle name must be "murphy's law" at least you prove to all that you should never give up!

Smilehello guys, snow pack is melting and we had a few days in the forties.  tomorrow and thursday it will be in the 50;s.  still dont know what the insurance company will do with our deck.  son sean signs his contract in am.  then it will be glakes training center in a week, followed by builder school in gulfport mississippi.  a dad can still feel proud.  sbmmbob.  did you make your navy train yet.  maybe you can make a seabee train. laz...cool layout, really enjoyed your pics.  like your shelving also.  received a pair of new 027 switches on ebay today.  just need a few lighted bumpers and some short sections now. a nyc s2 would be a nice addition, but i am not pressin my luck.  will have a few shots with sean in am when he enlists.  not supposed to take booze with my meds, but i will not go crazy. still after rotating beacon and bubbling water tower. big grandson liked ice fishing.  caught bass on second attempt.  4 fish in all.  after receiving switches today, will have all further train shipments drop shipped to hudson 685.  after testing he can ship to me.ha..ha..navyjack
