Aloha all. Sunny and 14 to begin this 'complicated' day of switching cars at different church services. I was volunteered by my bride to host a group of 16 year old boys today. We'll watch football and eat junk food. I may even show them the layout. Of course, my teen is mortified. Even better.  Wink

Mornin' boys.  Damp and 52 start to Sunday here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Laundry this morning, RAVENS @ 1, then maybe a check on the yatchet later on (still need to unload marine batteries for charging over winter).

My buddy Tom came over last night, and he brought a set of four Geep 9's (2 WM, 2 NW) to run.  Noticed that one of the MTH Gp9 units (with 7.2 battery) was having the same stalling problem over my O-72 switches that my similar Gp9 was having.  (Guessing it's a pick-up roller issue; why? no idea....) I Do need to buy the MTH charger though.  Oh well, Greenburg show next weekend.

Morning all it was a chilly 63 degree's this morning on the way into work at 6:15 am. Cloudy with a couple of sprinkles of rain I think left over from last nights rains. Supose to be cloudy today with some showers possible.

At work today but normal shift no OT so just 8 hours.

Not much going on in train world did win 2 station platforms and currently high bidder on another  got 1 illuminated one not so far would like to get another allumuinated so I acn go illuminated, nonilluminated, and then illuminated all in a row. to go between two tracks where I hope to have passenger cars running. time will tell maybe one passenger cats the other frieght. not sure if it will be wide enough between them to put a regular station but time will tell when I start building.

Hope all having a good weekend talk toyou all later.

Hello ALL            HAPPY NEW YEAR

Laz   Happy B-Day May you have many more!!!!!!!

40's and raining this afternoon. No hunting got done.

New years was kinda hectic here. Mom didn't seem good at lunch yesterday. so I checked her blood pressure. 70 over 35  is what I settled on after coming home to get a second machine to check it with.

Spent from 2:00 PM till 8:30 getting her settled into the hospital. This AM the diagnosis was dehydration. After a couple of bags of IV fluid they turned her loose about 2:30 this PM. With instructions to encourage her to drink more. I hope I can live as long and as well as she. Her 90h birthday is Feb 16.

Kids and grandkids enjoyed pork and sauerkraut prepared by my wonderful MRS at my folks home this evening. Trains were run. been cruising ebay and catching up on the pot with a glass of wine since then.

I'm off to join my lovely Mrs in bed. (she's been sleeping since 9:00)

Prayers for all in need

Happy New Year one and all!  Happy birthday Laz! Its Been too long since I have chatted with any one from the forum. I hope all are well and staying out of trouble. Christmas and New years were good here. One of my goals this year is to work less and give myself more time to relax and have some down time. That means train time! Pics to follow tomorrow as a baseline for where the layout stands now and to show the progress I hope to accomplish. Hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2011!

Good afternoon all,

It is cloudy and cooler in SE Indiana with the Snohio all but gone.  We had an interesting start to the new year.  After our friends, we came back into the house and were smelling some gas.  We checked some things out (stove burners, pilot lights) and could not come up with a suitable answer.  Wife called fire department and they checked this equipment as best they could.  They found nothing, but could smell gas as well.  They called the gas company and the gas compnay person found a small (non dangerous) leak around the furnace valves.  We will get it fixed Monday.  The gas personnel said our furnace could use some servicing as well.  We did not get to bed until 3 AM.  I hope the rest of the year does not reflect the start.  Happy Birthday to Laz.   54...Hmmmm...I hope do not get to be that old :-)  (I am 55).  I had the regular fare on the dining car for "breakfast" (at noon).  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good morning all, Happy New Year to everyone.  Just got through watching the Rose Parade, now on to the forum.  Went to bed about 11:30 last night.  To tired and uninterested to make it until midnight.  Anyway saw the year come in at New York City on TV.

Chief, I always heard that black eyed peas on New Years day was for good luck.  Whatever!  I'll take the money too.  I have some left over but will probably cook a new batch today.

Happy birthday LazHappy B-DayCake

Happy New Year to all Coffee Pot Members.

Managed to stay up until midnight. In bed by 12:03, asleep by 12:04.  Slept in today until almost 9:00, I could get used to this business of not having to drag myself to work in the AM.

Yesterday I repaired a broken search light on MTH Standard Gauge car.  Brasseur's Trains in Michigan supplied the parts, they were great to deal with. I had originally purchased the searchlight with the broken light at York several years back for about $35 and spent that much on the repair.  Still a bargain including the repair.

Watching some standard gauge on eBay, might not buy anything but it's fun to watch.

Will probably start taking down outdoor decorations this AM because it is supposed to be near 50. Possibility of some rain later so I better do it now.

Think I am going to dig out my one and only Flyer outfit and set up a carpet layout. I'll lube it and give it some run time later today.

Hope everyone has a great day and enjoys some football as well as traditional New Years Day foods.  The Mrs. wants me to make some oyster stew later today. I'll have to run to the store to get the ingredients.

Take care,

Mitch

Happy New Year!

I managed to stay awake long enough to see the festivities in New York and then promptly fell asleep. I was confident that the rest of the country would see the new year in with plenty of festivities.

I hope that all readers and participants here on the Pot have a wonderful relaxing day and a healthy and prosperous new year, with plenty of time to enjoy our loved ones and our trains.
