Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 30 degrees. Going up tp 38 today with a chance of rain/snow. Yuk.
Today is a busy day. I have an errand to run and the usual chores. Later, I will be in the train room, working on scenery. Got a few ideas.
Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
Good night all. Went fox hunting for a couple of hours this afternoon. Hung a deer rib on a string from a ceder limb where I usually see a fox. Worked. About 3 PM he slipped through the bushes [I could see the shadow against the snow still left in the shaded area], half circled. looked at the bait, came out and then looked at me. Mistake. Never knew what hit him. Like it like that. Then went to Hunters Haven and SECU. Got call from Fred. Two teenage girls were wondering through the woods around the pond. Found them crossing the street at the ball park. Looked like they were 12 or 13 [but big for their age]. Gave them a strict warning. Told them they had walked near a hunter and should always stay on the easement. They said they got lost. Told them to not walk that property again without an adult. Bad boys lived in the doublewide at the top of the hill [they had just walked by it]. They thanked me.
LAZ and Barry came through again. LAZ, you got mail asking who to pay.
Off to bed.

Evening all,
Sorry for not keeping close tabs, been busy at home and work and church. Going to let the budget recover before getting any more train stuff for a while. Bride got me the 1/64 Ertl farm house for the layout when I get it rebuilt. Slowly cleaning out the basement for the layout.
Good night and may God bless
Jim
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 30s. Snow is melting a little. Got the train stuff from the museum. Lucas and GF made connection in Chicago and are headed to North Dakota on Amtrak. He texted us that I would appreciate the dome cars. Bought wrapping paper and cards for next year at 50% off. Enjoyed perusing the CTT that arrived Monday. Watched a show with "Saucy Wench" tonight. A nice quiet day today for the most part. I had sausages and waffles for breakfast again. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mitch - prayers!
Cold in Saint Louis, but it did warm up enough to start cooking off some of the snow we had. Got up at 5 AM today to get to work early so I could be home in time to take the family out for eye doctor appointments. 3 of us need new glasses of course! Then we picked up some Chinese food and watched Psych on the DVR. Wife and daughter are digging on Glee now, while I do a little computing.
Tardis will be ready, so TTFN.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Sunny and mid 30's today.
Stripping and re-painting trim in the upstairs bathroom today. Fun, fun.
Ran trains a bit yesterday. Put all 5 of my ACF 40 ton stock cars behind my cheapo 442 NYC locomotive. Runs well & looks pretty good as too.
All for now.
ChiefEagles Good night all. Cold but most of melted walk and drive are dry. Off to bed. Shake and Bake, good luck on the plumbing. RT, you had better by-pass NC. Go through TN or swim around to the east. Jack, nothing like being out in the cold and blowing snow. Sleep tight.

Aloha all. Cold and sunny. Wow, that is one weird wreck, Laz. Go Bears! Can you work a flintlock in bad weather - damp or wind? I would imagine it would be tough to get a spark. Mitch, I hope you get that hernia taken care of... Brutus, hope Char stabilizes again.Didn't do much today it seems... some cleaning, grocery shopping with the bride (she has a system, I just tried to stay out of the way LOL), then drove to Palatine to pick up the youngest from an overnight with his grans - they took him and his cousin sledding all day. They have more energy than I do! Set up their Sony e-photo frame. Got all the way back home and realized I forgot his boots. Oh well. Hope that leak is a simple fix, Don.

Hi GUYZ,
Hope all had a great Christmas holiday and SANTA brung YUZ GUYZ all your STUFF. Was nice to spend 4 days up at MOMs. Had about 4 inches o snow and with winds hitting 50 MPH with wind chills down in the -10s we didn't go out with the Flintlock muzzleloader. I came back today, no snow here, unloaded all my gear and went for a 3.5 mile run. Felt good to get outside and do something after being cooped up for a few days. Speaking of wind....
A NS can train got blown off the ROCKVILLE Bridge in Harrisburg. Here is a link to it.

Stay frosty,
WOW BUCKEYE, you sure run those trains at breakneck speeds. I had to run that 3 times to see that NC CAR.
Cool,
ChiefEagles dbaker48: ChiefEagles: SNOW now sticking to the ground. Still saying 5 to 10 inches by tomorrow night. Now on the NS ABA units. I put a want to buy on OGR. Got prices of $2,000 to $4,000. I laughed. Now if you notice your newer CTT, Williams is reproducing them for around $390. Buy an ERR kit and upgrade and I can save money. LAZ, that was a steal at your price. Wish I could find a set at that price. Jesse Stone movie coming on at 8. Later. Chief, Payback is tough, hey! If you notice those snow flakes are falling west to east, those are coming from the clouds that did not get emptied out here. Sorry Charlie, this one is coming from the South. Cold air from the North.

Afternoon Fellas.Been a few since I popped in, so thought I would drop by and say "Hello".Christmas was nice, The Q surprised me with a nice photo of Western Maryland 314 for the trainroom. I'll try and take a pic, but doubt it will do it justice. She also bought me the Hallmark Scout set, so I guess it may be time to invest in a small tree for the train room (I have a lot of the Hallmark ornaments so it would be kinda cool). My 'coolest' gift was the Lego Shuttle Adventure set. Put it together and it is sitting on the hutch in the home office.---Home FrontAdoption - The agency dropped their Russia program. We were matched with a young boy a few weeks ago and it looked promising till we received his pediatric report. UGH! Well we passed on that one and now we are looking further into domestic adoption... we'll see how that plays out.---Mitch - OUCH!!!!! prayers for a speedy and healthy recovery.
---Still no update on Lionel's site about the shipping...
Morning to All and a belated Merry Christmas,
Had very busy few days as Son and his GF were here for Christmas from Thursday until Monday. Christmas Day we went to my sister's and had a nice time with gift exchanges and great food. Came home late that night. Monday BIL and SIL and two teen-aged kids came for a visit. Last night the Mrs., Son and GF went out for Mexican dinner at local place. Very enjoyable. Son and GF left last night after we returned from dinner.
This AM I had a bit of a scare. I was down on the floor running the Standard Gauge trains around the tree and when I got up off the floor I experienced considerable pain from an umbilical hernia. I was trying to hold off surgery until summer when there are no kiddos in school but I might not wait now. I called the Dr. and he said to apply ice and then try massaging it. Seems to have done the trick, for now. Probably going to call tomorrow to schedule surgery sooner rather than later.
We were going to make a run to Roots Market in Manheim and make a stop at Barry's Train Shop but decided not to go because we will have a busy day tomorrow with a dinner with friends and spend the night at their place. Maybe I'll hit Barry's some other time. I've never been there so I want to visit soon.
Well, I better sign off for now. Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New Year if I don't post again until the new year.
Take care,
Mitch

Good morning all, another sunny day but rain due tomorrow. I miss seeing all that snow you Eastern guys are getting but glad I don't have to deal with it.
Don, hope you have found out what caused the leak. I had a problem under our bathtub once. It turned out to be the drain was broken and water was getting under the tub and then spreading to other places. Finally got it diagnosed by some experts and got in a good plumber to fix it up.
Been running trains a little bit each day while weather is good to get out to garage. My new Southern Railway PS4 is getting a workout but also running my N&W steam engines A, J, and Y6B. I run my ACL F units once in a while but I had the electronics taken out when board failed. Still missing regular headlight but mars light works.
Got a copy of a newspaper story about a friend of mine who is a train buddy. The story was about his younger days when he was in the circus and was once a part of the famous Flying Wallenda High Wire Troupe. He had a wire up in his back yard when I met him back in 1971 and he taught his kids and me too how to walk the wire with a balancing pole. Now I'm doing good just to crawl under my layout.
I'm still baby sitting #1 son's bird today. He is spoiled and wants to be out of the cage all the time. Yesterday I had trouble getting him back in the cage. Took me quite a while. I finally just had to grab him and he bit me hard. I have to be careful not to injure him.
We had a ham for Christmas so last night we went out for a change after being hammed out. I had spaghetti. Wife had fish. It was nice just to get out of the house for a while.
Talk at you later,
Ray

Mornin' All.
I swear the past three days have just been a blurr. Christmas went great, but busy, followed by two consecutive days with the Kid's Club at the museum. Will be running again on New Year's Eve and Day, the friday regulars try to make it a fun New Year's Day by inviting our spouses for a luncheon w/champagne.
Today is clean up the mud and try to get the drains clear so the swamp in the yard can drain with this next rain coming tomorrow. This is supposed to be a really cold storm with lots of snow in the local mountains.
Ordered one of those DCS Remote Cmndr sets so I can have limited DCS on my ceiling track and the munchkin's Thomas Table (), unfortunately it hasn't arrived yet ().
Time to refill the mug !
Later Y'all.

See, I knew you loved it so much you kept it. I have 4 more. Seems nice to have a special place on your layout.
Morning all. Sunny and warmer. Melting fast. Nothing much to do today. Might do some train running. May do some fox shooting this afternoon. Saw some tough videos of the folks in MA. One on the news showed a house burning but fire dept could not reach it as everything was flooded due to storm surge. Did hear that Amtrac was backed up. Don't your Yanks have snow plows on the front of your engines? CSX I bet. I heard CSX running last night at midnight going through Wake Forest and was headed north. Strange as only runs to Warrenton and back. Never that time of day.
Have a great day.
Good Morning
cold maybe 30 today
Our Pot member Charlie and his family are coming over tonite for a holiday visit. Thus another trip to Kroger this AM for more snacks(like we didn't already have enough) LOL. I guess all wives do it that way. Anyway trains will be run and a pleasant evening is expected...S.J.
dbaker48 .........Speaking of fixing stuff, had water dripping into the train room from the ceiling this morning. And it was HOT water ! Directly above the leak is the shower/bath. Just had that room redone about 5 years ago, of course accessibility is a real issue. Was able to get behind the tub to check plumbing, couldn't find ANY source. But sure found a lot of wet wood. Finally, I think the source is the valve, I took the face plate off and found quite a bit of corrosion. Of course can't buy a replacement valve cartridge, however Price-Pfister offers a lifetime warranty. So they are sending out a replacement. Sure hope that is the problem. .........Take care, and be carefull removing the snow!

Don.....this happened to me in the kitchen sink. The retracting Price Pfister head went bad. Found my receipt and the lifetime warranty stuff, YAHOO! I asked the Wife what color replacement she wanted and she looked at me (like I had two heads) and emphatically said the same as we had.....white. So I called and PF sent one right out N/C!!!! When I received it, the Wife looks at it and remarks "I think I want the all-chrome colored one." So I called PF back and they sent out a second one N/C and told me to keep the white one as well !!!!!!
My leaking Price Pfister issue was not a product failure. My son was using the sprayer nozzle head as a hammer on the edge of the sink and the variable spray head had cracked.

Well I see the post I created yesterday did not post. Oh well, I don't think anyone missed anything.
With all the snow going around, I wouldn't mind having it for about a week, that I could handle. If I were living back there I don't think I would surrvive, I don't remember the first thing about winterizing and preparation. It would be fun though. Hope you guys dont get more than you can handle, or causes any damage.
We had another inch of rain, as SP Ray reported. The snow covered mountains around here have been beautiful !
Been doing a bunch of minor repairs in the train room, seems like the more I do, the more I find. Speaking of fixing stuff, had water dripping into the train room from the ceiling this morning. And it was HOT water ! Directly above the leak is the shower/bath. Just had that room redone about 5 years ago, of course accessibility is a real issue. Been playing around with Facebook, but havn't devoted much time to it. Getting so time spent on the computer with work an all, doesn't leave a lot of time for other things. So the last thing I need is to develop another time stealer. (On the other hand, sure have met a lot of great people via the computer!)
Take care, and be carefull removing the snow!

Good evening all.
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 20s. Took the two grandsons to the Eiteljorg Museum in Indy. It is a Western Museum (go figure in Indiana, like having a Southern museum in Alaska), but the Indiana Railroad sponsored a several train operating layout (all G) of various sights in Indianapolis and out West (Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and Yellowstone, etc.) The scenes were spectacular and the buildings quite interesting. They plan to return each year from around the first of November thru the first of January. The boys had a good time and there were some interactive areas for the kids in other parts of the museum. Did a lot of running today, but the next six days are mine to relax and enjoy. I had sauasges and waffles on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL anytime. I hope everyone has a good day.
I got your thingy right here, boy - let's go!
A little cool this morning. Took wife to labs and all is pretty good. Her potassium is a little low though? She missed some meds due to a mix up by the hospital staff though, so we're hopeful it will all even out soon.
