Lets try this again.  Told me I had to be logged in to post and I was logged in.  Then wipped out my post.

Hope all have a great month of December and God bless.

PS: worked this time

Had storms all around.  We got .3 inches of rain.  No storms.  Went to sleep in the recliner at 10 AM.  Got up around 1:30 AM and crashed in the bed.  Slept late.  Feel great now.  Just what I needed.  Lazy day for me [I hope].  Hope to get the NS Genset going.  Need to clean track and whole layout.  Have not run trains in over two months.  Later

Aloha. Where is everyone? Snowing here. Congratulations on your Pot anniversary, Jack. Whoops, I mean anniversary on the Pot, um I mean. oh I give up. Hope everyone feels better soon in your neck of the woods, Charlie. Ran Thomas last night. Need to find a scarf for Percy.  SJ reminds me I have to set something up around the tree - what will it be this year?  Dennis, hope those winds and possible tornado weren't around your abode.

Good Morning again

Ah a better menu this time, I'll have everything but the grits. Granny dragged me off to Sears this morning, told her it won't open till 10 but I don't know anything, so we waited 20 minutes to get in. I took a walk. Cold and windy, lite snow flurries floatin around. If it's warmer where you are, enjoy.

Mornin' Fellas... already Dec 1st! Criminie!

Jack - Not sure I needed to know you've been on the Pot for 3 years! Sounds like you need to visit a GI Specialist! Smile

Still haven't gotten around to building the Christmas Layout... heck I haven't even started! Maybe tomorrow since I've got the morning off and working from home in the afternoon... no commute = more time to do fun stuff!

Laz - sounds like a nice deer! Saw one a few mornings back walking in someone's backyard. Had to be a big one because of his size and the distance I was from him. Also didn't have a problem seeing his rack from my distance either - so had to be big!

Good morning all,

It's been a few days since I posted.  I've been busy at work and with chores around the house.  It is cold today and it feels great.  The Christmas layout we put under the tree is very simple: a loop of O27 tubular with a PA Steam/Passenger train running around it.  I used bunting material to simulate snow and we have one building down so far, a gas station.  I hope to add some more building this weekend - I believe some Plasticville structures would make it more nostalgic for me.

Back to work for now.

Regards,

Joe

Lunch time at work, raining but in the 50's. I had 2 conference calls this morning. We are busy here and it looks like we will be even busier next year. We are short 16 people, there is a hiring freeze and the OT is being cut. What else is new, same old story but we are working Saturdays. Enough about work.

Doug, I remember that story about Percy and the scarf.

SJ, Remember, They are always right. Don't even bother to tell them.

Christmas Layout, My whole side of the family is comong here for Christmas Eve. I have a young neice and nephew who have never been at my house at Christmas. It is going to be 2 loops around the tree with plenty of assesories.

Thoughts and prayers for all in need.

Good afternoon,

Weather has let up a little here, Sun was out for a few minutes, but now has clouded up again.  Must have gotten several inches here, don't know for sure.

Typing this on my computer at the TCA library, surrounded by lots of train goodies.

Have a good day.

Jack,

          Congrats on the three years.

Brent,

If it makes you feel any better, I have not started yet either.Sad

Okay, I think my AF addiction has reached a new level.  Last night, I saw a 481 Silver Flash diesel with diesel roar on the bay, but I was hesitant to buy.  I need the roar generator and dynamic speaker from it to complete a 491 Northern Pacific B unit.  I had myself talked out of the 481 until it really started to bother me at work this morning.  So, I used my half hour lunch break to make the normally 15 minute (each way) drive home to buy it, and headed back.  I got back to work with a few minutes to spare, and I never thought that would've been possible with the sunfire.

Happy December first---24 Shopping days left.....

Interview was great, looked good, then he told me he's going to try to get me a job, but he's still interviewing...Bang Head..maybe next week...

Weather here is rediculous...John will agree....wind up to 50 MPH, driving rain, and I had to drive to Newark.....wonderful...and I was 45 minutes early...60F today and then will drop like the proverbial rock later.

Car issues, job and money issues....and life is...good.

I'll check back later!!

Evening all not a lot going on had a good day other than a couple who love to stir things up. but they'll get there correcting in time. There crying now because they were asked to work OT for comp time. can only do that if you agree there trying to say there being force to work OT for comp time never came out that way supervisor asked would you be willing to work for comp time and that was it and there bringing up something that happened a year ago being a service dept we can be  required to work OT where someone was told they had to work OT one night, well there trying to twist that into that there trying to make us work OT for comp time and that never was or came out. These 2 are never ending.

about 2 weeks ago they went around say all OT was canceled the only OT you can get is for comp time and what actually happened was the supervisors boss ( ours to ) was told any other OT to be filled will be comp time or you will have to do without on any more positions that come up for the pay period out side of what i have assigned by employee's signing up for. so if someone was to get OT then call off or say they can't work it now to refill that position it will have to be someone willing to work comp time. ( comp time for every hour you work you get an hour off later. at departments agreement to when you want it)

Anyway everything else is fine. lol

Hope all had fun today or atlest tried to

Good evening everyone.  Just got back from violin practice with the kids.  They are getting ready to do a mini concert for the seniors at an assisted living facility.  Both kids were asked to do solos, but then the instructor decided to have them do some duets.  They are both doing really well with their playing.  It is amazing how fast they learn.

Doug, we did get plenty of storms down here.  Lots of heavy winds and the temps went from 82 yesterday to the low 30s tonight and a high in the 50s tomorrow....a bit crazy.  As to the tornadoes, we had some pass to the west of us and also up in Atlanta, but we were fine.  Thanks for asking.

Laz, yeah, we have plenty of deer here.  Our season starts in early September and goes through January.  Many of the local farms have year round harvesting allowed too.  On one of the plantations here, a guy bagged a huge 27 point deer that is expected to be the new state record, but official dry scoring will not be till January.

Chief, I do hope you get to running the engine soon.  Would like to see some photos of it from either you or Laz.  Sounds like a great engine....with the slight error Laz mentioned.

Well, I do have to get going as it will be an early morning for a big case.  My bride and I are to have a candle light dinner at the church.  They have a great evening with the praise team and orchestra playing music for everyone, followed by a nice dinner with all the trimmings.  We are really looking forward to this.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good evening all, My son and I got the Christmas outdoor lights up today and they look pretty tonight.  No trains today but I made a nice oyster stew for lunch with bacon bits to add to the flavor.  Had two bowls full for lunch.

Jim, my Tardis beacon is definetly on tonight.  Many of them!

Dennis, good luck to the kids at the concert.  Sounds like they are doing well.

Chief, I'd like to see a picture of your new NS genset when you get it going.

Nights continue to be cold but it warmed up to a pleasant 70 today.

D Baker seems to be missing in action.  Need to give him a call.

Laz, you need to go down South for the deer.  Sounds like they are thicker than rats and rabbits down there.

Good night all,

Ray

Evening all.  Did get around to upgrading my Legacy.  No joke.  Had the package for a month or maybe two.  Then loaded the Genset.  Mine was not screwed down in the box as directions said.  Have not played with all the "bells and whistles".  Does sound great.  Can hear the three engines start up and shut down as needed to pull.  Smoke stacks open [the flapper on top] and close with the engines.  Did not run it as need to clean track and layout.  Just let it move a few feet forward and backward. Got lots of boxes of cars sitting in the floor too.  Got a set of corrigated NS car haulers to open.

Chat later.

PS: corrected some spelling on the "banner".

Thats a great story. Made me laugh! But I'm sure you're not the only one guilty of that lunch break purchase, I know you're not the only one!

Sunny about 20 this morning.  Made it up to about 40.

I'm sure enjoying the pictures of the AF equipment you guys post from time to time.  Am resisting the urge to purchase - for now.

I don't remember who was asking about the insulating pins on Lionel 027 switches, but they go in the ends of the short rails that end at the frog.

Picked up my Texan add on two pack yesterday - at lunch time!

Navaho piggyback trailer flatcar and a Moe & Joe lumber flat car in MKT markings.  Neat pieces.  I find it interesting that Lionel shipped the expansion pack before the Texan train set that they are supposed to add on to was shipped.

All for now

Ray - got you on the screen!  I think it's Don's turn to drive, we'll have to swing by and see if his neighbor - uh, I mean if he is still up!

Keep fingers crossed - doctor said if nothing surprises us tomorrow or Friday, Char can come home Friday Smile

Morning all.  Quick stop for a cup before going in.  Brutus, that is great news....now lets pray for her to pull this final round and bust out of that place!  I am sure she and the whole family are ready for her to come home.

Chief, I had my Legacy upgrade sitting around for some time before I put it in.  Should have some trains going this weekend, but we have quite a schedule for the next few weeks.  I will just have to make time.

Hope everyone has a blessed day,
Dennis

Good morning all,

It is cold in SE Indiana with a dusting of Snohiozone on the ground.  Sending an "extra" to "Points West" with load of prayers for Char's homecoming.  I did a lot last night with really nothing tangible to show for it.  Results may be down the road.  Mostly involved conversations with family members and items for wife on computer.  Long day, busy day at work.  I had english muffins and cereal on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL anytime tonight and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning.  Woke up early and could not go back to sleep.  Blame it on wifey.  She woke me up at 4:30 to ask what time my Dr.'s apt was.  She was going to ride with me in to town.  I did doze for a while to get up and find her getting ready to go to work.  She changed mind and car pooled.  BRRRR  Ordered her a Kindel for Christmas.  She goes out yesterday and buys another brand that was on sale. BRRRRR  Well, no breakfast and only black coffee as I have blood work done today.  Guess I will get ready and go in to Dr's early.  Got meetings with BB&T and RBC today to discuss the financing of the $900,000 fire truck.

Have a good one.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a snowy 30 degrees. Light snow cover on the ground. Going up to 42 today.

Today is an easy day. Wife is going grocery shopping and I have a few chores to do.

I had a great meeting with Buckeye yesterday. It was good to see him again. We planned a big snow storm for NC. They deserve a white Christmas.

Dining car is here and it's Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.
