Happy Thanksgiving to All

It is cloudy and 44 degrees. Going up to 54 today with some rain.

Today is an easy day. Great dinner planned for just the two of us. Relax and run trains later.I like to watch the Macy's Parade. Plenty of football games.

Dining car is here for the usual breakfast.

Happy Thanksgiving

to all of you and your families.

The bird is in the oven - all 23lbs, and some of the meal preparations are well under way.  There will be 8 at our table for dinner today, and then later we host a pie feast for our family and 2 other families that have been wonderful friends for over 20 years.  It is a celebration with our "extended family" - the ones we have chosen for family.  That group has increased to about 24 this year.  There are pies sitting all over the place and more coming.

I am thankful for many things this year.  The opportunity to enjoy and share a wonderful hobby is just one of them.

Have a wonderful and "full"filling day.

Mornin' All.

Happy Thanksgiving !

Just enjoying my coffee before all the KP chores start, only have 12 guests this year. A bit of frost on the pumpkin this morning, makes it feel more like Thanksgiving than the normal "warm & sunny".

Enjoy the day with family & friends as they truly are what life is all about.

Good morning all, and Happy Thanksgiving!

We will be on the road soon.  It is very cold today, and a chance for some flurries.  No matter what any of us have faced this past year, I'm sure we all have a few things to be thankful for.  The fact we can get online and talk about trains tells me we're better off than about 90% of the world.  Let's not forget it.

Joe

A blessed Thanksgiving day to all of you guys.  Cooked turkey yesterday so we got a jump on it.  Just have to warm up today.  We had a preview taste last night.  There will only be 6 of us and we are getting out of Dodge on Friday for the Jazz Festival in San Diego.  I envy you guys with places  to go for turkey dinners.  We, two kids plus one grandson and DIL are by ourselves here on the West Coast so no relatives to visit.

RT you have some pampered cats eating turkey.  They are eating pretty high on the hog.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend everyone,

Ray

Afternoon all,

Happy Thanksgiving.  The kids are at the other Grandparents till Saturday.  Their cousins are in and they will have a good time.  It is just my bride and I today.  We are smoking a prime steak roast.  It smells so good.  Bride is working night shift in the ER so other folks can have the day off.  We'll eat here in a bit then she will go in.  I am getting stuff ready for the train show this weekend.  I will be sitting up Friday and the show is all day Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday.  I'll take pictures to share.

Later,

MAy God bless

Good evening all,

It was a rainy day in SE Indiana, but the home was warmed by the food and the presence of family.  I ran the Santa Fe freight for the two nieces and launched the helicopter several times much to their delight.  We played cards as well and watched football.  I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Cold and cloudy today.  High might have been in the mid 30's.

Just my wife and I this year.  We had dinner at the fanvy hotel downtown.  A buffet with turkey, ham, prime rib and all of the other fixin's.  Frankly, my turkey and dressing is better, there advantages to leaving the clean up to the resturant.

Bundled up and went downtown again this evening for the  lighting of the Christmas lights on the hotel.  Music and fireworks too.

Back into work tomorrow, trying to get a project caught up so it is back on schedule.

All for now.

Hi guys, been on the forum for a couple of years, but this is my first post to the Coffee Pot.

It's mid 50's here in south cetral NC.  A little sun a lttle rain, and generally a fattening kind of day.  No family here, everyone is in New England.  We ate turkey and all the fixins, and settled for a little family visit on Skype. I got to spend a little time checking the forum in between peeling potatoes and chopping up the turnips. Mostly I had a very relaxing day.

Tomorrow I hope to play with the turntable some more and work on the new layout planning. Maybe a trip to the LHS for a book recommended on nickaix, thank you again.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who have answered my questions, and confess that it is a really good feeling to also be able to answer some of yours from time to time.

Happy thanksgiving to all,

Aflyer

Had a terrific turkey dinner at my folks' house and 18 of us were there as my sister in NC and her family didn't make it.  That would have put us at 23!  Good food and lots of it - the best!

Nice chats with Brent and Chief on the phone today and with RT, SJ and Doug on the yahoo messenger.

I just want all you guys to know how much I appreciate your  friendship and real fellowship and I will never forget this in a million years.  You are all the best!  Tardis will be ready shortly and the rootbeer and Famous Banilla are on me, guys!

God bless us, one and all.

Happy (day after) Thanksgiving!

Fife - may Lassie rest in peace.  Truely our pets are like family.  I miss Cat, who I left in FL.  He still remembered me on my last visit.  Lassie was very nice to me on my visit and I'll miss her.

Brutus: Congas on the promotion.

Just got back from Centreville, VA for dinner at my Brother's house.  My nephew was in from the Academy and was good to see him and all the kids.

Tomorrow is the big day, clean up the engine bays at 10 and set up of the railroad at noon.  Festivities start with the parade past the house at 6:30 PM.

Took 2 Tylenol and going to jump into bed.

Applied for a job real quick before I got here via FAX.

Thanks for all youse guys here...real friends, all of ya!  And thanks to our military and civilian protectors a that keep us safe and free.

Chief, I'd also like to know the specs on that ladder...even though I'm an Engine Company guy....(nothing on the Baltimore front yet, btw).

Good morning guys.  We had a long day yesterday.  Left early for Callaway Gardens and got home late last night.  Dinner was fantastic, more than we could ever eat!  This was followed by a visit through the butterfly center and then the "Fantasy In Lights".  If anyone is ever in the area, it is a great thing to take in.

I looked through a bunch of adds from all the local stores, as well as the on line ones.  Can't say there is anything I absolutely can't live without, so we get to relax this morning and not head out into the fray.  Plan is to take in some family type movie and just enjoy our time together.

We do have quite a lot to be thankful for.  While I am sad to have lost my Mom, I am thankful for the many years I had with her.  While I may have frustration with some of  the situations at work and with some of the times when I will be there for hours on end, I am blessed to have a job and to be able to provide for my family.

Have a great day,
Dennis
