Good Morning
Sun but 27 and only going to 33
I let yesterdays dinner wear off but all of you are welcome to stop by today for leftovers. Like most grannys we could have feed many more. Some turkey with gravy will end up in the freezer for another meal but I'm still afraid turkey surprise will show up soon. None will be wasted, kids will come by today for lunch. Great chat with Brutus, RT and Doug M. last nite....S.J.

Happy Day-After-Thanksgiving. Bride is out window-shopping. I'm repairing some broken things and letting the youngest play with power tools. The daughter is working and her boyfriend is diligently doing homework. Nice to see that. All is right with the world. Time to run trains mayhaps.

Dug out an old computor I had ( from like 1995) and decieded to disect it I took power box out and opened and cut wires as close as i could to the source and then cut/disconnected them from the point they connected to mother board and boy did I get a lot of color wiring I can use for wiring trains and accesories. and many colors so thats a big help too.

On the quote I high-lighted above, several of us understand, agree and are doing the same thing.

Good afternoon all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 30s. Slept in this morning. Took care of money matters for the week. Will be going over to my dad's to get HO layout ready for local history museum exhibit. Not going all out this year as it it too much work and I am tired of being only one to do it. Maybe another year I will be more involved, but not just this one. I do have some other ideas that may spread the show around a little bit. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL after going to see a movie tonight with the "saucy wench". I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Hi guys
It's dark and never reached 32 today. We stayed in and ate leftovers of course. I shall wait for Brutus and the thingy, banilla is ready...S.J.
Evening all,
Got the All Aboard layout setup at the train show. 30 minutes from unboxing to running trains. You wonder if Gilbert would of marketed it earlier they would have been more competative. It is a neat system.
There is maybe 12 layouts from N to G. Only me and my friend has AF.
We had our Thanksgiving dinner this evening. The grandkids were home and youngest daughter and boyfriend. We smoked the turkey, it was great!
Prayers for Rich to find work, Char for continued improvment with health, and for others that I can't think of.
May God bless
Jim
Jumped in the truck last night after dinner and came north to the cabin. Cold .. very cold in Northern Michigan today. I'd say it was about 15 this morning when I made it to the property to hunt. Pad lock on the gate was frozen solid... I had to use a certain fluid at 98.6 degrees to get the lock thawed...

Sounds like everyone had a great Thanksgiving.I had a nice meal with the wife and kids.SIL and son showed up when I was backing out of the driveway to head to work.Good thing we did not wait for them to eat.Quiet night at work but would rather been at home.Double time and a half made it a little easier to take.Wife had to go into work at three so I stayed up and drove into work. They opened early to fed the people coming out of Wally world.Said she ran all morning.Pat and Fife, easy to say no more pets but you may find yourself ovt voted some day. We decided not to get any more pets( had two cats already)and wound up with three golden retrievers.Oh well they let me think I'm in charge once in a while.Have a great weekend.
Prayers for a good job, Rich! You deserve it, that's for sure. Have you looked on USAJOBS?
Thanks for the prayers guys - she has shown a lot of improvement this week since they started giving her stuff to boost her liver function. The anti-rejection drugs are suppressing her liver and this new med has made a world of difference, but apparently it is horrible to drink it. Doctor came in and litterally chewed her out just like he was her Dad, she said. Made her cry, but she has been taking it and now getting a lot better. I never met this doc, but I love him with all my heart. She has gotten so much better just since the weekend it is unbelievable, I was sitting with her tonight and it's amazing, and now she keeps talking about how much she wants out of the hospital!
Nice chats tonight with RT and SJ! Missed you Charlie, but great pick. Just remember to wash your hands after you use that lock!
Tardis is ready and I have a project in mind that I will unveil shortly. Will need some input from all you fellow potters :)
TTFN!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Hello all
Back at work for a few more days. Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. Closing up now after a 22 hour day. Ugh. And four observers coming up tomorrow too, but 3 of them women, so not all bad:)

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 38 degrees. Going up to 50 today with some sunshine.
Today is a busy day Lots of chores to do and a project to finish. Maybe some train time later.
Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.

Mornin' boys. Cold. May have to bring "benji" the palm tree inside. Work continues on the project layout. Will try to get to the mountain/tunnel section today. And, yes, taking pics as I go.
MichRR - Boy looks like a Big L box. Is that why you like hunting so much?
LawsonFarms - Never got back to you on the 48 winning its 5th. Impressive feat, but I think Knaus is a chump for what he did to his crew. Hendrick wound up switching his whole organization around this past week. 24 team/shop was separated from the 48.
Good morning everyone. Getting ready to brine a turkey to cook later today. Wife asked when I am going to do it...."right after I post about it dear!" Anyway, brining really makes the turkey juicy and tasty. Will cook it using a "oil-less Fryer". Should be good. With just the four of us and the dog, we should have plenty for the rest of the week.
Wow! Michigan looks cold. We had a arctic front come through and bring the cold along with rain. Looks beautiful now, but I think the temps dropped into the 60s. May get a little work done in the yard before heading to the train room.
Fife, heard about a P.O. in New Jersey who worked a special shift keeping drunks off the road on Thanksgiving. On his way home from work, he got hit by a drunk on the Garden State Parkway and was killed. While I have done some foolish things in my youth, through the years I have come to realize that there can be some awesome consequences for bad judgement. While I never got a ticket, and never caused an accident, I am well aware that just because you get away with something, doesn't make it right. These days, I don't drink at all...makes for a poor witness to my kids.
Bob, hope you had a good time off the mountain. Been praying for you and several of our other friends here. While I love to celebrate the holidays, it is often tempered by the sense of loss of our loved ones and some of the tough times. It was explained like this to me once: Life is like the four seasons, we go through some fun times called summer, they mellow out a little into fall and get cold and gloomy (winter). But we have to remember, Spring is around the corner, and a time of new beginnings.
Well, time to get to work around here. Hope everyone has a blessed day.Dennis

To the victor belongs the spoils of war. May not be right, but that is the way it is. I agree Knaus made a mistake. Are they writing off the # 24?
Sun, 30 with a wind. Feels cold.
A nice breakfast, ready for football...S.J.
Aloha all. Sunny here too but cold. Begged off going to the nighttime Christmas parade in our downtown - it was 19 before calculating the wind-chill. At least it hasn't snowed yet. I know, I'm a wimp with the cold. Setting up Christmas today - if the teens who are sleeping all over the basement floor finally wake up. They enjoyed a late night marathon of video-gaming.
Went Christmas shopping for my bride on my way back from a mtg at church this morning. I knew what I wanted to get and where I wanted to get it - so went in, picked everything out and was in the car in 15 minutes. LOL.
I had a busy past two days enjoying the holiday, shopping, and decorating. I was actually stupid enough to wake up at 0430 yesterday in an attempt to score a couple of Black Friday deals. This was the first time I had ever gone shopping on BF, and was I in for a rude awakening. My wife had done it in the past and tried to warn me; she laughed when I came home a few hours later tired and defeated. These BF shoppers are crazy. I did get a couple of the kids’ toys and wife's presents taken care of, but not the two big items I wanted.
After my BF expedition, we started decorating. The tree was up yesterday and I set up a train using tubular track. However, I will need to make some changes to the layout. I have not used tubular track on carpet or white bunting (for snow) before and it is not very solid. I will buy a cheap piece of plywood today for a sturdier base. We will also decorate the outside of the house and bring in my wife's Christmas dishes.
Good day,
Joe
A BELATED HAPPY THANKSGIVING to ALL.

Hi Aflyer! Welcome to the best cup of coffee in the world
We had a great Thanksgiving. Son and his GF came on Wednesday night. We fixed them a home-cooked meal. Thursday we had dinner at my sister's house. All the family was there as usual except for a cousin and her husband that moved to NC. Also had BIL's family so the crowd was bigger than some years.Too much food and football.
Yesterday was a lazy day, stayed around the house most of the day. Wife shopped some but left me home. Made a delicious chipotle corn chowder for dinner along with some chicken fajitas. Tonight we are going to take Son and GF out for dinner to celebrate her birthday. Always nice to have them around.

Afternoon All !
Up early but to pooped to do much of anything so far. Did re-arrange the wires on the Nutcracker Gateman, lights didn't go-off/stay-on as they should have.
Really busy at the museum yesterday, some of the kids who signed-up were no-shows. Chatted with lots of folks from all over the country as well as a group visiting from Canada.
Dennis, If you guys come out this way and stay at "The Del" check and see how long they will be keeping the iceskating rink going. I think they have it set-up down by the tennis courts so you can skate and watch the surfers/boogieboarders at the same time
Still getting some frost on the punkin at night, rain here and snow in the mountains on the menu for tonite. Can't tell by looking outside, brite blue sky w/lots of sun and upper 50's.
Got the soundboard from a Kinlet Hall, now to work on installing it in the Hogwarts. Receiving from hints & help from a gentleman on OGR who has already done one.
Time to refill the mug. Need caffeine !!!!!!

Fife - I don't know why my post to you reapeared several hours after the first posting. I couldn't delete it. Grimlens in the computer?
Good Evening
30 and dark now.
Watched the Buckeyes And Michigan State win. Then got the christmas decorations down for granny, put the tree together(I'm looking for a sale on one that will just pop open)so she is happy and having a good time with her treasures.
Banilla and rootbeer are ready for the thingy...S.J.
Evening Boys!
In the 30's tonight. The family has gone off to a Trenton Devils game...I'm just too tired to go. I may go tomorrow, though.
My Princess is volunteering with the Salvation Army as a Bell Ringer. I'm so proud of her!!
Spent yesterday cleaning the firehouse and setting up the trains. 21X5 with a 8X5 "L" . It was an unqualified success! Many attaboys and good jobs. Kids loved it, many stayed way past Santa's visit. Didn't get to bed before 1 AM and up early to unload Christmas trees back at ol' Station 41 again at 7. I'm still disassembling the layout. Going back there shortly...
Brutus & RT...I haven't checked USAJOBS lately, but probably tomorrow. I have laundry to do, so I'll be homebound...unless I get a fire call....
Fife & Dennis....That PO was an Ocean Gate officer on his way home from a DUI check point. His Jeep Grand Cherokee was rear ended and plowed onto the breakdown lane where it landed against a tree, where it burst into flames. The officer was DOA on impact, according to the reports. The idiot driving a 2010 BMW SUV was legally drunk past the .08 limit, failed the field tests. In my opinion, they should string this SOB up by his toenails covered with honey and left to the bears in the Pine Barrens. Leaves a wife and 2 less than 10 y/o kids. Especially hineous during the holidays....
Well, I'm off. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow if I can get on the PC....and the job search rolls on...I'm expecting a Christmas miracle...
for our intentions!
Rich

Sunny and 50's today? Not sure. Went to work in the dark and came home in the dark.
Got a project on deadline. Back to work tomorrow. Long list of 'to dos' before it is done.
Good news about Char, Brutus.
All for now.
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in low 40s. Considering how the day went, should have stayed home. Spent a lot of time and money on the road wearing myself out doing a lot of things that did not really need to be done when I would have been a lot better off working on tasks here in the home town. Not a good day. Still have a lot to do tomorrow and then I go back to work. Hmmm... not seeing much upside to this four day weekend. I hope everyone has a good day.
Howdy guys! How's your wife doing, Bill? Hope her PT is going well?
Got up at 6, worked OT fo 5 hours, then drove back home here about 17 miles and got some Chic-Fil-A, then drove back to the city and took it to Char at SLUH for her lunch. I was late and she already ate - thought I wasn't coming. She had it heated up for dinner though, so that's okay. Finally got home about 3:30 and took son to the AT&T store for a new phone. That cost me $50, but he is happy. Paid them their allowance for their chores, so then had to take the kids to the book store and Gamestop. Finally hit Taco Bell for dinner and got home about 7PM. Enjoying an ice cold Blue Mooon and a nice talk with SJ, RT and Charlie while watching Van Helsing with my daughter.
Tardis is ready and Pat is driving tonight as it is his turn!
Good evening everyone. Was a good day. Lots of rest and relaxation. We cooked the bird and ate same. Enjoyed some quality time with the family. I took some photos for the Christmas cards which allowed/called for me to learn more about using the new flash as a slave to the on camera system. Took some time, but it was good.
Rich, two things. First, that was a real sad event, one of the guys from my old digs sent me the story. Secondly, have you checked in with UPS? I know they hire seasonal help and also a good number of them get on full time. You being up in Jersey, they have a strong presence there as their HQ used to be up in Saddle Brook, before moving to Atlanta. Who knows, it may be a good place till you get on the job.
I had better get some sleep as I am on camera tomorrow and need to be on the ball. Looking forward to the week ahead as it should be a busy one.
God Bless,Dennis
