Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a clear 48 degrees. Going up to 72 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and then I will go to PT. ..note....I do not use a treadmill when I walk. I walk with a 2 wheeled walker, down the long halls of the Center. The floor is marked in distance. The trick is to not use the walker, to lean on. Just push it ahead of you. I am working on my steps and speed.
Dining car is here from "Points West" I will have the usual Cheerios for breakfast.
Buckeye...TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
HI GUYZ,

Mike, Congrats on the win and Prayers for your Brother In law.
Fife & Dennis, Thoughts and prayers for your loses. Fife, 24 is way too young.
Brutus, Good news and continued prayers.
Rich & Jim, Good luck on the job hunt. My job is in jeopardy at the moment, but I can collect my pension.
Navy Jack, Happy Birthday for the little one.
Chief, A Yankee Fan? Lets go Yanks.
Prayers and Thoughts for all in need.
Have a Great Day
John
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps near 80. Ok, good news first. We won 6-1 last night. Thanks to a superb defense, I was keeper for the first half, and we were ahead 5-1. The only goal scored on me was another over the head shot. I was fortunate to make the few save opportunities I had and in the second half I was back at my right fullback position. If we win our last game, we will finish third in the regular season and skip the first round game, which is huge. That part was a good night.
Not so good news. Wife's brother-in-law was in surgery 6 hours. There is a tumor. They got most of it, but not all. Long term situation is not good. They are waiting for pathologist report to see what the prognosis is, but outlook is not good based on what they know so far. I told the family I have a wonderful group of people praying for them, and they appreciate it. Thank you again everybody!
Onto more mundane subjects. Soccer tourney is this weekend. Weather is supposed to be good. I had the regular fare on the dining car before sending it onto "Points East". TBIL anytime tonight and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Good night and good morning all in one. Worked outside and ran errands all day [disked long section of sewer easement for deer food plot, picked up suit pants from hemmer, got 4 Runner detailed, delivered Lucy and Finn to groomers and picked up, cemented in two poles a lease, put up cable to poles and got straw for wifey's outdoor scene ]. Wifey had cooked great meal. We both ate and she went to sleep on couch while I reclinerized. Finn woke me up wanting to go out and pee. All back to sleep but me. Caught up on emails. Now to bed. 11:30 meeting in Raleigh. Sleep tight.
PS: Demay, only thing Yankee about this Reb is the NY Yankees ball team.

Good evening all,
Another great night for the Yankees; nothing like going back to your own stadium up two games. The temperature is warming back up for some reason. It was in the upper 80s today and tomorrow's high is 91. My wife ran the AC for a little while this afternoon, but the windows are now back open since it should be somewhat cool over night.
Fife/Dennis - Sorry for your losses. It seems more difficult when we lose public servants such as firefighters and law enforcement officers.
Brutus - I'm glad to hear things are getting better for your wife and your dad.
Jim - Happy Birthday to your twins!
Good night,
Joe
Sorry, Dennis - missed it. Prayers for you too. Also for jobs for Rich and JimG97P
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
And Happy Birthday to the Twins
Mike - prayers on the BiL.
8nt - Congrats on the big 3-1!
Fife - sorry about your friend.
Don - keep healing up man!
Some good news on the Brutus front - Char does have graft versus host, but it is under control and getting better. They have her back to eating food and taking oral medications. They expect to release her tomorrow or Saturday
Also - my Dad's stomach is "waking up" again from the anesthetic and things are working again. Apparently there was also a small tear in the esphagus from the anesthesia stuff. His knee replacement is doing well - good alignment and tight, so he should go home on Sunday
Thanks for the prayers and good wishes guys. This place is the best! I can't tell you how stressed out I have been, it's just really hard to think about anything or do anything, but I always know you guys are here for me and for all of us. The Best!
Tardis will be flying Loop-D-Loops and butter pecan is on me! Banilla is on Jim, but I know where he keeps it
Evening guys
Thanks for the advice on the Honda Van, I will need to learn how to spell it.
Twins had a great birthday this evening. Gabriel got his cub scout uniform and Felicity got her Brownie uniform.
Time to read pray and go to bed.
MAy God bless
Jim
Good Evening

8n,
Thanks. It gets tough to keep looking at times though.
Fife and Dennis,
Sorry to hear of the loss of your friends.
Jack,
Don't give me any ideas about running anyone down. I might have to find that guy that backed into me.
I started working on the layout again yesterday to get away from the job hunt. I am in the process of rearranging two loops that I've never been satisfied with.
I also have been looking at a wrapped and boxed AF 332 Northern. I'd like to pick it up so I could justify running my 332AC and not feeling guilty about it.
The sun is finally struggling to come out here, and a fabulous New England Fall forecast is on tap for the weekend.
The wife and I were asked to help out the past two weekends with fundraising events for local humane societies. The recent economic issues and the number of folks losing their jobs and homes has yet one more downside most are not aware of......folks can't afford to keep their pets, or their new (forced) living arrangements won't allow them. The shelters are full and looking for financial support and potential adopting homes. We helped as WalMart-type greeters with our dog Maximus and were asked to teach dog safety to the adults and the children in attendance.
I realize each of us have been touched personally by someone we know in deep financial straits, so it might seem a bit askew to be helping raise money for animals. Then I remember what my Dad told me decades ago.....we are responsible for all of God's creatures, great and small.
Brutus.......you have my continued daily prayers that Char is progressing and that you are holding down the fort in her temporary absence.
Dennis and Fife.....prayers for the loss of your friends and acquaintances who have left us far too soon.
MikeC.....you also have my prayers that your wife's BIL comes through this without a hitch.
8n.........HAPPY ADVERSITY ANNIVERSARY!!! Please pass on my condolences to your wife. It sounds like her back is responding well, and you both must be feeling thankful for it. Prayers for her continued recovery.
Chuck......a half mile on the PT treadmill?!?! You must tell us what drove you on to that distance. It wouldn't be the view you had of the occupied treadmill right in front of you, would it? I'm surprised it took you a half mile on the odometer before you realized you were not catching up.
Rich and RT......regarding the knuckleheads involved in the recruiting process that one might encounter, many of whom seem rude and ignorant during a process which can be emotionally trying to an applicant trying to find a job.
My advice to my family, friends, and acquaintances is just the opposite. People may disappoint you, and you may find their demeanor insulting and insensitive. But you can't lose sight of the goal, despite them. It's the job opportunity. They are just one more obstacle to that goal, and they too must be overcome just like all of the other ones. You can always accidentally run them over in the company parking lot with your car AFTER you land the job. Just make sure you drive a beater that day and after you run over them back over them for good measure.
Later, gang!
Jack

Here's my two cents. Arguably the best choice of the available minivans out there in my opinion. The Odyssey is the largest minivan in terms of cubic feet capacity, with the Nissan Quest a very close second. The fuel mileage for this sized vehicle may pleasantly surprise you.. And with Honda, you can't argue with the reliability.
Jack.
rtraincollector Ray not looking that was 15 years ago Don I turned it down as figured he might of gotten in trouble and probably had friends there and it might be made tough for me. And told him so but thanked him for his return call

Good late morning everyone. Heading in shortly. Chief, I too like "Criminal Minds" but have to DVR it and watch it when the kids are at school. I like it more with Mandy Patinkin.
8N, congratulations on 31 years. We are only at 10, but are on a good start. Regarding the Honda Odyssey, we love ours. Works great for the wife and for road trips. Have not had any issues.
On a sad note, one of the guys I worked with on the fire department passed away yesterday. Had a heart attack. He had retired, but was young. He also hosted the web site for the memorial to the guys from the department who had died in the line of duty.
Fife, glad to hear they do a lot of out of town hiring. When I was on, many guys would get a address in town to claim the status. I know of several who all had the same address which was a apartment that one of the guys' aunts lived in. I know FDNY also had similar policies.
It is another absolutely beautiful day here again. Sunny, no clouds, and temps in the 70's. With any luck, it will continue till I can bale the pine straw and put it out near some cypress trees that need some mulch. Also have to cut some grass. We shall see.
God Bless,Dennis

Good Morning
Sun and 70 today.
I had a nice chat with Brutus and Charlie last nite and a great homemade breakfast this morning. No breakfast details as I don't want to be responsible if you guys drool on your keyboard. Buckeyes are honest and trustworthy, don't need to be watched. ....S.J.
On a somber note, just read the Hampshire Review (back "home" in WV). A good acquaintance of ours just lost her son (24 yr old Sheriff's Deputy), in a tragic off-duty accident with a CSX train, this past weekend.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 50 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. S'posed to be a pretty weekend.
8ntruck - "31" I would have taken her to Baskin Robbins.
anjdevil - I've always been surprised by how many out-of-towners the county hires. Hang in there.
jefelectric - John, you will have to keep the tradition going at YORK. Make it your good side.
Aloha. Not sure what the weather will be like today as it's still dark. It has been beautiful and warming up Lots of things to do today, some more important than others. Starting off with prayers for Mike C's BiL, Char, Don's continued recovery... Nothing too new on the train front. Keeping an eye out for possible layout accessories with all the holiday stuff out (Halloween and Christmas in full bore at the big box stores).
Laz, hope you get the itch back. I'll lend you some Chicago bedbugs. Can't wait to hear your layout plans.Jim, the Honda is the top of the mini-van food chain. As happy as I've been with my gigantic Dodge Grand Caravan (10 yrs old and 140K miles), I'd love a used Odyssey.

It is a clear and cool 56 degrees. Looks like sunshine is coming. Going up to 74 today.
Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of paperwork to do and chores around the house. PT went well, yesterday, as I walked about a half a mile. Legs are good today.
Dining car is here for a Cheerios breakfast.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Happy Friday Eve to all! GOLF with BRO tonite after detention duty. Not much going on.
FIFE, used the GOLD BOND now I don't have the itch to start layout. TANKS. Oh well maybe next week?
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Last night was busy at home. Balanced checkbook, which is always an adventure. Have to contact TCA today as check I wrote for dues has not come back yet, nor has my TCA card so I am hoping they are just slow and that the check is not lost. Not sure why do not accept credit cards.... Wife's brother in law goes under the knife today to remove a mass of tissue in brain. Thanks for the prayers already given and what will be given. Family is aware of your support and appreciates it. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast along with a donut before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL after my game tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
The Yankees game just ended and the Yankees won. Winning the first game is huge, especially when it's on the road. I probably should not have stayed up so late to watch it, but I couldn't resist. And even though I know they can't hear me, I still talk to the players. At least my three-month old son appeared to be listening .
Jim - We own a 2004 Odyssey and think it is a great van for the money. We bought it used in 2006 and have only had some minor issues. When I say minor, I mean I was able to fix them. We now have 101,000 or so miles on it and feel strongly that it will go on for many more. However, my wife did checkout a 2011 model recently so I'm not sure how long this one will be on our roster.
Fife - There probably isn't anything to ease the pain of Brazilian , but tomorrow morning I have ASP Baton refresher training - maybe that will help.
Prayers to all those that are sick, recovering, and looking for jobs.
Nice sunny fall day here today. The trees are starting to turn. Does not look like we will be getting the brilliant oranges this year.
Brutus - prayers for your wife and family.
Laz - impressive fish
97Probe - hang in there and keep trying.
My wife and I went out to dinner tonight to celebrate 31 years of marriage. Discovered that our favorite resturant is undergoing an owner change and is closed for three weeks for remodeling. Ended up at our second favorite resturant for a nice meal.
My wife is now up to 4 hours a day out of her back brace and is looking forward to returing to work. The work bit is still a couple of weeks off yet.
Looking forward to the UP Challanger arriving in town Saturday afternoon. I'll have to make sure the video and still cameras are charged and ready. It had stopped in St Louis recently. Anybody get the opportunity to see it? It leaves from here Sunday with the next layover in Kansas City.
All for now.
Well it got to 70, much better than 40.
Banilla is ready so bring on the thingy.
S.J.
Evening all
Did the 8 hour HazMat refresher training today. Brought back lots of memories.
