Home. Told everyone I was at the lake all week. Fished early in the week and then slept and watched TV through the big rains. That was relaxing. Need to do that more often. Did have to mow the grass yesterday as rain made it turn green and grow again. No flooding here or at the lake. Lake had been pulled down to almost as low as last year's drought up there. Now full again and still coming up. Will make fishing good as most cover and rock were on dry land before the rain. Still caught bass. Was actually sneeking around above enemy lines spreading GRITS all over the Nawth. When it rains, they should swell and turn into Snohio.
Fife, thanks for getting the new pot going. Like your addition.
Thought I had caught my shooter. Rushed to the range just before dark with loud shooting. Was my neighbor. He had bought a new AK47.
Dinner time. Later.

fifedog Natty Bohs could make the trip to the west coast allright. To ensure freshness of the hot steamed crabs (smothered in Old Bay seasoning of course), I will need the services of His Honor's Lear jet. Sending them via UPS ground might be most unpleasant. As for the change in menu, what's the old saying about leaving the barn door wide open...? RAVENS WIN in the Steel City. Woohoo!

Aloha. Kinda down after our mini- family reunion, but I guess it could always have been worse. Hope your Monday is better than last week, Mike C, and that your unexpected work-day went well, Joe. Bear down, Laz. I'm glad the proprietor of Baker Field is doing better. Duarte is allegedly one of the most expensive zip codes in the country.

dbaker48 RE:COFFEE POT #10 October 2010 for all to take a drink and chat. 5+ years and going...Hot Steamed crabs and Natty Bohs too. 5 Years plus AND YOU CHANGE THE MENU ????? !!!!!!! I have had the pleasure of enjoying Steamed Crabs a few times, Not as many as I would like. BUT I have NEVER had the opportunity of enjoying a Natty Bohs, I believe it is some type of beer. So as a long time member of the Coffee Pot, A member of OTTS, and the "Honorary West Coast Official Casual Member of the Submillimeter Telescope Weather Monitoring Service", in addition to being the namesake of Baker Air Field, in Illinois. (In addition to Numerous other Coffee Pot schemes, and tactics to numerous to mention.) I am exercising ALL my rights and privileges to have the opportunity of EVALUATING this new menu item. Therefore, FIFE I expect that at your earliest convenience you will send some evaluation units to the west coast for consideration. (Given that they are not available here.) I will uphold my obligations and ensure that the samples are distributed equitably among my fellow Left Coasters. (I don't expect that their will be serious objections, but we must have the opportunity of evaluation and consideration.) Whew! Now that the serious stuff is taken care of......... Had a great day today, Presentation in Temecula went very well, then Kay and I went over to the Pala Indian Casino for the buffet (fantastic), and a little play time in the Casino. Verrry nice alternative to Las Vegas!!! Tomorrow going to take a couple of guys to a train meet in Duarte, and should be hooking up with SP Ray, might even get to show these guys what a great layout Ray has. I was able to take some pictures of the scenery I bought, trying to get the photos in the correct format for putting on the web, and still being able to see some detail given the size. These things are 16 feet long! As it turns out the area I have in mind for them measures 24" high on one side of the room and 13" on the other, with the 2 connecting walls going from 13" to 24". The panels are 24" wide, so some cropping and editing and I think it will work well, really excited about the potential. Also that window video is really great. Take care and more later. FIFE, dont forget the evaluation units!

Good morning all,
A very comfortable morning today; however, I am not enjoying it as much as I would like. I was unexpectedly called in to work from 0020 - 0600 this morning. I am pretty tired and still with the crud. Breakfast is a cup of Threaflu. No church this morning due to not being well. I hope to enjoy some football today.
John - I never had hunter style duck, only pork and veal, but it sounds delicious.
Good day all,
Joe
Good Morning
43 and holding. yuck
Breakfast was coffee and a piece of a giant doughnut. We have been invited to a church families house for dinner, I guess they don't know me very well. Probably won't get invited back..lol
Have a great sunday...S.J.
Morning all not a lot going on today just a day of relaxation I think but the boss hasn't gotten up yet lol.
Waiting for the dinning car to come by ( the late one the early one I missed this am)
Hope all have a blessed day.
Talk to you all later

Good Morning from the Jersey Shore, 56, cloudy, windy, rain this afternoon.
Today I am planning on splitting some more wood before the rain starts. Otherwise a quiet day, start to reorganize the garage and just relax.
Sturgeon-Phish, Jim, enjoy the pressure washer. I use mine all the time from washing the boats without soap to cleaning the grill.
SJ, relax and enjoy yourself. You worked for it.
Joe, Congratulations on 16 years of marriage. We enjoy German food also. We ahve a local place that serves a duck dish hunter style that can't be beat.
Don, I was waiting for the Chief to comment on Fife's change, but you beat him to it.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.
Everyone have a good day.
John
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 62 degrees. Rained all night. Today is rain and 68.
Today is an easy day. I plan on watching the Nascar race from Kansas. From the train room. Time to dust trains again. Maybe a nap , later,
Dining car is here and it's the usual for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
"Landing a fish through a bed room window" reminds me of the heavy snows in the winter. And spring melting in Minnesota where the flooding of lakes and rivers were over there banks. We went fishing, landing our boats from where the road ends, and the lake was flooded up to. The lakes were so full of water we were fishing in people kitchens, and around trees, benches in their yards. That is one of the reasons why I moved to Arizona...no snow and very little rain. And I've seen to many floods in my time. My back is still sore from loading all those sand bags.

Good evening all,
A very comfortable day outside today. The windows are open and the AC is off. I'm hoping I don't have to turn it back on. I did not accomplish much today; I am still battling some sort of crud. I forced the two older children outside so they could enjoy the great weather, then I enjoyed some football and baseball games. However, this evening's PSU game was a big downer.
Last night, the wife and I enjoyed a great dinner alone together. We found another German restaurant in Moore, OK, which is outside of OK City. The schnitzel was fantastic and the large German beers were quite tasty as well. It was a great way to celebrate 16 years of marriage.
I need to down some more cough medicine and get some sleep.
Good night,
Evening all
Hard to believe it is October already. What happened to summer??? I bought a pressure washer this morning. I had borrowed one from a friend and wished I had one dozens of times, so now I have one. Pretty cool.
Mike I'll keep the folks you were talking about in my paryerw this evening.
Good night and may God bless
Jim
Hi Guys
50 and gloomy all day. I never got to the mags. football instead with a nap in there someplace. Brutus banilla is ready so swing on over this a way...S.J.
I'll have some crab cakes and a tall cold one - thanks Fife!
Laz - OMG! Ditto on the hopes for those involved though.
Mike - sorry for all your office is dealing with, we have that every once in a while at work also - seems when it rains it pours.
Worked 6 hours OT, took son to his game store, then hit Walmart for some odds and ends. Had a burger for dinner and woke up just in time to see RT IM me
Found a guy on youtube with like 400 plus videos of him building an n gauge layout step by step. Each is about 6 minutes long. I've watched a few and it is interesting. Also has a project for making a static grass device for just a few bucks.
Tardis will be ready soon, have to get some supplies loaded up. TTFN!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good Evening from the Jersey Shore,
Busy day around here. First thing this morning, My son, Brother in law Dan and myself, made some improvement /modifications to my wife and sister in laws store. Counter tops, sink mod, reroute freezer drain line. We knocked it out by 11 and they opened up.My son and I then went to work on his truck. He changed the heater core and I did body work to get it ready to paint next month. When he got done with the heater he cut the grass as I continued with the body work. In a little bit we are heading for the store to decorate it for Halloween.
Mike C, My thoughts and condolences for the family, friends and extended family. A few years ago, one of the guys that I work with, his son jumped off the Driscoll Bridge on the Garden State Parkway, that crosses the Raritan River. What made it worse is that whenever he goes out a back door into our yard, he can see it in the distance.
Dennis, I wish your friend all the luck and happiness with his retirement. Newark is such a lovely, peaceful town. I am sure that the 2 of us can swap stories of adventures there.
RT, I had a female cat adopt me a few years ago. She is fixed and house trained. She comes and goes as she pleases. I take her for her shots every year.
Fife, You had a perfect day.
Laz, You are having too much fun.
Thoughts and prayers for all in need.
Successfully reunited with my MTH SD70MAC. Turned out to be a bad speaker and battery (Proto 1). Picked up a couple items for a future project, and my favorite train store owner handed me a new LIONEL catalog, gratisimo. Had a nice meal with wifey and littlest princess at PlumCrazy in Westminster.
laz 57 Watch this video of Pulaski Salmon river to the end and see this guy land a fish through his bed room window. Enjoy. http://videos.syracuse.com/post-standard/2010/10/flooding_on_salmon_river_in_pu.html laz57

Too cool about the guy catching a fish but what a bad situation up there hope it is all getting better
Laz, thanks for the video of the river flooding. The only place I can remember where catching fish out of the window like that was on a bridge tender's house right next to the drawbridge on the Elizabeth River where I grew up in Virginia.
LAZ - Good size fish caught through the BR window. I hope the window doesn't end up in the river.
LIONEL # 7 NASCAR is interesting. Intended to look like a train engine. I am glad he made the race, starting 24th.
Rain and 50.
Well I have 2 CTTs and 1 OGR unread so today might be a good start. Of cousre there is saturday football to consider as well.
2 eggs, 2 bacon, fried mashed potatoes and 1 toast. I'm all set for awhile....S.J.
Great video's Laz. Morning all the dinning car has been and left heading to points west had bacon, egg, cheese biscuits with hash rounds and OJ
Not a lot happening here. Wife adopted another cat from outside that was a stray so we have new member called little man someone has been cruel to him as he has some scars that look like someone dumped hot grease on him but he's healing fine and loves us to death till we get him fixed hes living in the den with my trains and computer so I spend a lot of time there so I guess hes going to bond with me also. darn a few pieces of bacon fell to the floor from my biscuits I wonder how that happened
Hope all having a good weekend. I'm off today and tomorrow but then work till the 11th then of 12 work 14 off thru the 16th ( but don't have the funds to even drive to PA let alone go to the train show.
Well talk to you all later have a good afternoon.
Morning all. Mike, we all go through seasons like that. Hard to be "up" all the time when we are in such a season. Anyone who claims it doesn't get to them is either lying or not able to face the truth. Our confidence comes from knowing God. and knowing that we will get through these tough times. Still, it is sad to be in such a time.
Have a few chores to get done. I told my bride I have to go to the Honda dealer to pick up a "climate control Knob". She tells me: "good, you can do the grocery shopping while you are out". Also, I have been trying to figure out why the rear blower in the Mercedes doesn't blow like the front...I got the information on tracking down a disconnected vent, so that will be later today.
We are hoping to get to that movie I mentioned in the other pot tonight. Need to secure child care. Some days it can be tough though.
One of my friends up north just retired as a Deputy Chief out of Newark FD. Perhaps one of the smartest Firefighters I have ever known. He was on his way to being a dentist when he quit to come on the job.
Well, gotta run, waisting daylight as they say.God Bless,
Dennis
