IIABSIDISEI with temps in the 80s. Long day of soccer. Reffed three games, two of which went into shootouts, and both of those were two batches of five shooters. Lucas did three games in a row as well. He wore cleats. Big mistake as ground was rock hard. Local teams did not win a single game in all four groupings and local HS boys lost in first round of sectional. Only "my" soccer girls and my team are still playing. I was approached this morning by a parent of one of the HS girls about working with a group of kids in the off season. I was open to the idea. We shall see what happens. I was tired after reffing those three games. Wife's BIL is going home from hospital today. Not sure what that means. I had a mixed lot on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL anytime and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.

Well, today was just busy. Mother-in-Law headed back to KC, I took the kids for haircuts at the salon, did lunch, took kids to Borders and Gamestop, then played a game, got pizza, and paid bills. Where did that day go?

Son started picking corn today. Said there were 7 deer in his soybean field this AM so they will be next. Deer won't eat the soybean unless the are dry enough to combine for some reason?
Mrs & I had a fire this evening and now I'm sipping a glass of wine while I keep up with y'all.
Brutus. continued prayers for your Mrs & your Dad. . As far as soldering pipes. Make sure you clean the pipe and the fitting well before putting them together. Use a good quality flux and lots of heat. On the fitting , not the pipe. I don't like the lead free solder. It takes too much heat and sometimes the flux is burned away before it's hot enough to flow.Make sure you have a good torch. The really cheap propane ones take way to long to heat up a joint. I've found the ones that use MAPP gas do a great job.

Pat, congratulations on taking up the ukelele. Good for you. I would like to play something besides the radio myself. I used to tinker with the cornet but it's too hard to play with false choppers. There is a guy out here named Ian Whitcomb from England who plays all kinds of ukelele stuff. He plays all the old familiar tunes Let us know how you do.
Chief, I used to think rooting for the Yankees was a no brainer but it's not like the old days now when they used to win all the time. Back then they were automatic winners or so it seemed. At least I have heard of them. I don't follow the game much anymore so teams like Tampa Bay aren't familiar. I thought they were a football team.

I have a Concert ukulele and a Beginners book, trying to learn it. With my fat fingers the 4 string ukulele and wide fingerboard is easier for me to play than the guitar.

Happy Saturday. Had a nice fire last nite with wife ate good and a few Ol Mils. Life is good. Today gotta move 7 ton o dirt and plant grass. To finish up the outside o addition. Great day for it though. Then church tonite and eat at Waynes. Wisconsin chicken tonite, grilled chicken with peppers onions and topped off with cheese sause. Pretty good.

It is a clear 50 degrees. Going up to 76 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and then I will take it easy. Legs are a little sore from PT, yesterday. Must have been a good workout. Nascar race and baseball playoffs to watch on TV.
Dining car is here for the usual breakfast.

TGIF – It was a very busy work week at the office. Finally winding down for the night and had time to get online. After dinner, the family and I played a game of Uno. Our 9y/o daughter won. It is always fun playing Uno with them; somehow at such young ages they have already learned the art of trash talking. I will be rising early tomorrow morning due to a group of men from our church going to help a family whose house is need of some repairs.
Chief – You chose a great team for your Yankee trait; however, I would not mention that down in your parts. They might take your Reb card away.

I spent part of tonight tearing into the rear brakes on the Sunfire. I am having a problem with the driver's side sticking, so I am going to replace the wheel cylinders, shoes, drums, and hardware on both sides. The drums really put up a fight when I was trying to remove them since they wouldn't slide off, but some prying and beating fixed that. After looking at the rear subframe (aka rust particles holding hands), I really don't want this car around any longer than needed.
After I got tired of that, I decided to do more work on the layout. I continued to remove the portions of the two loops that I am changing, and hopefully I can get them finished soon. I am also kicking myself for not rounding the corners of the upper level as Brent suggested to me a while back. That will probably be my next project.
Prayers on that job, Banks! Also on your job, Joe.
Wife's doing pretty well, but had a rough night, so homecoming is delayed. They have her treatment well under way though, but she has some duodenitis and has to be on regular diet and without some symptoms before she can be released. She's in the right place, though and getting good care. It's pretty disappointing though.

I have a 3 day weekend, but kids only have a regular weekend, they have school on Columbus Day. Need to get some mudding and a little plumbing done in the basement - maybe take some time to figure out some soldering I want to do. I've never done it, but I have some space pieces I can experiment on I guess. Heat up the fitting on the pipe (cleaned and gooped with flux), then hit it with solder.

At home all by myself. Kids at other grandparents and bride working in ER tonight. Took the time and took some pictures to share.
Iwas down at the house were fixing up cutting grass and a couple stopped by and looked at it. Maybe they will buy it. It is really nice now. It would not take a lot of coaxing for me to move to it.

For all of you NASCAR fans, had to turn down a trip to Talladega for Southern Boat show. [Wifey working late with USDA at State Fair that week and I have to stay home and pee dogs ] When working race tracks, always interesting as held in infield and car testing is going on all the time. Plus, they usually give you a ride [free] around the track in a car. Seems Pro Mariner is "cranking up" again. Says Bass Pro is opening new stores next year.

Morning all. Warm again. Got meeting at lunch and then nothing. Need to mow grass since all the rain we've had. Pecan trees have "dumped" a lot of limbs on the ground inside the back fenced area. Need to clean up before mowing.
Chuck is going to PT to visit that honey that is his PT person.
