Good morning all, finally got in touch with MTH with phone call yesterday about my Z4000. Got an RA # and took it out of my layout. I have the inner box with inserts but need to get an outer shipping box today. I put my old Lionel ZW back in service on the layout while the Z4000 takes a trip to Maryland. The old ZW still works but gets a lot hotter with no fan like the MTH has.
Dbaker, prayers for your FIL. Hope you can squeeze your buddies into the layout. Put them all on the patio and give them some fastrack to play with. I'm thinking sun tea also.
Chief, I don't put milk on grits. Cream of rice which I referred to has a creamy consistancy and is not as course as grits but you don't need milk. Anyway grits are fine with me now. I had to eat the other stuff when I had stomach trouble a long time ago.
Got to run,
Ray
SPMan
SJ It finally got here hope it was a good one and you get some great train items.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLD MAN
Good morning afternoon evening night. Signed on this morning and door bell rang. Signed on just a little after noon and door bell rang. Signed on this afternoon and Pam came in ready to go pick up her new Honda CR-V. Loaded with all the options you can get on one. Now I have the pickup and the 4 Runner [actually the 4 Runner is the "family" vehicle and Mayor's duties vehicle]. Got home and signed on this evening and Pam wanted to run errands and go by Lowe's [get to drive her new vehicle].
Story one: We ordered "cafe" shutters [double shutters that covers the bottom half of the window] for the inside of the kitchen, dinning room, living room and two bath rooms. They finally came in after 6 weeks. Installer came this AM to install them and they were made upside down. All grades of, "I'm sorry" came from Lowe's. Then got call from Lowe's Installation Services. Lady says have to come out and remeasure. @#^!~ So went by Lowe's and that section was closed. Manager came and was well aware. She said she did not know why we were called and told to have them remeasured. New shutters were already ordered and asking vender to rush and not take 6 more weeks. They almost lost a customer. Was not Lowe's fault but the manufacturer's. Still, dragging out the time to get them up and I have already been paying for them [12 months same as cash]. They AIN'T cheap.
Story two. Drove to Garner NC and got 10 more grass carp. Got them settled with the pond water temps and let them go. Cost me a bundle. All because of the bad boys at the top of the hill. One thing that makes me feel good. They are all in JAIL.
Story three. Went to get CR-V. Got a lot of paperwork signed. Then finance guy came out and said it would be a few. 30 minutes later he finally comes out. Then we go sign more paperwork. One thing is we got Honda financing at a lower % rate than advertised. Almost nothing for 60 months. Guess that was worth the wait.
Story four. The ^#$~ Mayor of Raleigh is fighting hard to keep Rolesville from getting the high school. I have a name for him. Has to do with dog.
Now for some rest. Did get by Texas Steakhouse for a ribeye and sweet ice tea.
Later.

Happy Birthday, Sir James!
Wife's rash is clearing up a little, so that is good news
Nice chat tonight with RT and now talking with Wes, Charlie and of course SJ! Good guys! Checking out that new Lionel 765 engine, very cool!
Tardis is ready and Mike is driving, so belly up boys - we have lots of cake to go with that banilla!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Well SJ, you survived the onslaught on your birthday. You are not allowed to be grumpy. That is DougDG's job. Hope you got all that was coming to you. Don't forget the root beer tonight.
Don.....prayers your FIL continues to improve and that your MIL's worry is lifted.
Brutus,,,,that was good news on Char. Are you sure she isn't allergic to you?
DougM......my house was about a 5 minute walk from Montay college.
Chief.....bet the wife has a big smile on her face with her new wheels. You are like me, the husband gets the hand me downs.
Brent....that's one of the better photos I've seen of Fife, he looks a little more slender in that one.
Later, gang.
Jack

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 90s. Belated Happy Birthday to SJ! Relaxed with grandkids last night. Long day back at work, but busy so time went fast. Lots to do with little cooperation from feds. May need some attitude adjustment. Must win game today for US. Last race for Sarah for awhile at Iowa this weekend. I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning. TBIL anytime and I can drive again. I hope everyone (especially US Men's soccer) has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 70 degrees. Going up to 84 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have an errand to run and then I will take it easy, the rest of the day. I have some reading, that I want to do and enjoy the nice weather.
Dining car is here and we have an omlet for breakfast. Looks good.
Buckeye.....TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Hello all,
If all goes well at this time tomorrow I'll be traveling I-70 somewhere in the area of Fredrick MD. Before that I've got about 300 bales of hay to get in the shed. Then load the car. Hope to get out of work by noon.
I'll have no internet access next week so it'll take me a few days to catch up when I get home.
Prayers for all who may need them

Another good week in the books, now ready for the BIG weekend of racing at the Iowa Speedway, Iowa Corn Indy 250----all the stars are here for Sunday's race, hope the weather holds out. We have been drenched nearly every day and are once again set to break weather records for the month, ugh.
Had a great day at the Y yesterday, swam without stopping for 35 minutes. Today is tread mill day for 60 min. at 3.7, I am feeling good. PGR send off mission at 11:45, more troops being sent to Afghanistan.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Good morning all. I just got up!!!! First morning in a while that I could sleep like a retired person. Going to mow and then go to the lake house this afternoon and mow. Still hot and humid. Getting tomatoes and lots of cucumbers and squash.
Iowa has a race track and races??? Bet they take nails and drive through wooden wheels, stick them into corn cobs and have trained beatles push them around a dirt track. That would be a little more exciting for Ioway than the usual sitting on the porch and listening to the corn grow.
Big news this AM. Seems BP has stopped the oil leak. They put a woman's wedding ring over the pipe. It stopped putting out.
Hope all the workers have a great weekend and thanks for the SS you contributed this week.
Now for some coffee.
Hi Guys
I missed the morning roll call, another trip to a doctor, we're all set till monday AM, grannys turn again. Warm here but not hot so far very little rain from all the predicted storms of the past week. Have a great day.....S.J.
ANJDEVIL2 .... are you going to annapolis for the swearing in ?
CHIEF .... a wedding ring may stop the oil but it does'nt stop the flow of whatever is coming out of their yapper .... only increases the flow .... LOL
Nope, just found out it's on July 1st...I'll be at work still
Also just found out that Mom broke her foot doing something at church....
Evening all just had a big storm pass thru not sure how much rain we got but it was a frog strangler.
Had a good day at work today happened to start talking to our chief dietitian (Big boss of all dietary) and mentioned if you ever decide to make a baker position let me know, she went wild with the idea she said that a great position we could use then asked if I was a baker. She said she needed to look into that position and then we talked a little what we would do and wouldn't do.
yesterday got talking with a patient safety rep and brought up a couple of ideas that needed to be looked into and she was really tickled with the ideas especially seeing it hasn't been thought of but was needed at present with a couple of patients we have I think by law if one needs it it needs to be done
Not much else going on nothin train wise anyway
Good afternoon. Off to the lake house in about an hour. Running late as usual. Ran soaker hoses some while mowing. Lots of calls about the HS thingy. Now getting shower and shave.
RT, hope that becomes something for you. Baker for the whole place.
Spanky, glad you are back.
Guess LAZ is shoveling coal on the steam engine.
Good Evening
Sun and 88
A big storm in Chicago is headed east and expected here after dark. Warnings already posted. Had a nice BLT and a half for lunch, granny found some turkey she froze in gravy so hot turkey sandwich for supper. I gotta watch the bread intake though. Found some Dad's old fashion root beer yesterday boy thats been a while. Banilla is ready for the thingy..S.J.
man rt i hope the va hires you as a baker. those guys in the hospital deserve food made by a navy cook. you could make them s--t on a shingle and one-eyed-meat loaf. i know i could eat that every day. silly me you said a baker didnt you? navy cooks still rock. as long as they dont know how you ice the cakes....navyjack
Wife made it back from Washington DC. Flew out of Regan National and was late taking off this morning. Apparently the President didn't get the memo......my wife was flying, and he was supposed to delay HIS departure until SHE cleared the air space.
Sunny, muggy and low 90's today.
Loooong week. Still have a pile of paperwork to get to before it is too late. Probably will have to go into the plant sometime this weekend to catch up on what didn't get done while I was spending time out on the factory floor thisweek.
Got about 1/2 of my tree trimming chores done this evening. Maybe get the rest sometime this weekend.
Watching a couple of Alco bits and pieces on ebay. Maybe I'll get lucky.
Anybody else notice that Ford was ranked #1 in quality? Toyota dropped from #6 to #21?
All for now.
Evening all
RT - I hope your baker job works out. Will it mean earlier mornings?
Jim T - Your Royal Blue 350 project turned out great! Check out his thread!
I took the cover off the camper and will start getting it ready for a little vacation into Michigan. Loking at going to Dearfiel Villiage and the Ford Muesum. Any other suggestions?
Good night and may God bless
Jim
Jim - where all are you going in Michigan?
Definitely spend some time in Deerfield (sorry, brain fade) Greenfield Village and the Ford Museum. One could easily spend a day in each place. The Art museum and history museum in Detroit are worth a visit too. If you like zoos, Detroit has a good one of them too.

Prayers for us all and our friends and family!
Well we are now in summer shutdown, but are doing the last official observations of the season. The Advanced Astronomy Camp kids are up on Mt. Graham and are observing at the SMT for the night. One of the professors at the U has been running this program for over 20 years. A number of the counselors are some of my regular observers. I've never been up here for one of these since usually I am in South Dakota on the Rez. Good group of kids and I've had a number help start up and open the scope, plus tune the receiver and operate the telescope. Put them in the chair and and tell 'em what to do.
Ordered the last bunch of parts I needed today to get the Corvair running. Rear springs and shocks. The old shocks were pretty much just trim.
Jim T - love the 350! Nice job on that one.
Don - glad that Chris is having a good trip
Chief - thoughts and prayers for your mom
S.J. - belated happy birthday!
Cleaned up a Binks Model 19 sprayer when I had some time today. It holds air and sprays air so tomorrow night I will try and spray the lower control arms and rear crossmember for the van. Beautiful old unit made in the Windy City. Just couldn't bring myself to buy a cheap import. Found a rebuild kit for it on the web too.
Well off to catch a few hours of sleep. Need to be back up in the morning for the tour for the camp.

It is a sunny and clear 65 degrees. Going up to 82 today with a chance of rain, later.
Today is a busy day. I have chores to do and a project to finish. Later, I will watch the Nascar race and ballgame. Not much else new here.
Dining car is here for the usual Cheerios breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Good Morning
You guys are really good to be able to read my post last night with all the typos!
Thanks for the suggestions. We are still putting together the agenda.
More poison ivy to get out
May God bless
Mornin' boys. S'posed to be hazy, hot and humid all weekend long. Gonna plant some blue flowers in the newly redone garden, then go grocery shopping.
So lemme get this straight, we're gonna have 3 bakers around here? Please don't dress alike or I'll really be confused...
Nice to hear from Grayson.
Good Morning from the Jersey Shore: Sunny, 78, going to 85 with a chance of thunder storms. No fishing today, my son went camping with some friends and I dont go without my partner. The fishing is slow anyway.
I purchased a PW Lionel 221 Dryfuss Hudson on Ebay for a reasonable price last week and I am waiting for it to arrive.
Thoughts and prayers to all in need.
