Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear 34 degrees. Going up to a sunny 60 today.

Today is an easy day. Got a lot done, yesterday. PT went well. Using a cane more. Need to store the walker. Too easy to start using again. I think I will run trains this afternoon. No Nascar race today.

Dining car is here for the usual Cheerios breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

 Hey Guys.

Can't sleep, I was a road warrior again yesterday logged another 335 miles to Tifton, GA and back.  I got lunch outta the deal...I'd be in Jersey by now.

Saw the online Lionel catalog, looks like a Camelback in CNJ colors in my future, looks nice, the 700E is what I'd like but the price is a bit much...$1100 WOW!  Saw some nice stuff and I noticed the K-Line items in the back...HMMMM

Happy B-Day Spank - even though you're on the DarksideLaugh...I prefer the traditional 15's on the 'runner...and it was a driver, no trailer queen in my house...need to get that carb done, then the exhaust, tough working on a car 900 miles away..

OK I'll try to get back to sleep, catch ya later

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

Checking out the new Lionel Catalog - wife already said, "Let me guess, there's a $600 train you need - again."  Nah, I said - already preordered it from the Fall catalog - but I do need some new Halloween stuff that's coming out!  I can't believe no new Potter stuff this year.

Tardis is ready and we have a lot of beacons on right now, so let's hit it!

Good evening everyone.  Chief, I am sure the weeds will enjoy the fertilizer...remember last year?
Got home later this afternoon as case lasted awhile.  Picked up car as it needed a new window regulator (one of the problems with MBs).  Then, wife wanted to go out for dinner, so we packed  up the kids and headed to our favorite steak place.  Even saw Nancy Lopez there tonight.

Upon our return home, son and I cut a few acres out back with the tractor. Let him steer a little bit while I held him.  He looks forward to such work, but we are careful and take it slow.

RT, that was some story.  I had heard about it today from someone at work, but that was the first I had seen of it.  With wife going to work tomorrow, we have planned some fun with the kids outside.  It should be nice outside and when we finish that...TRAINS!

High test gas was $3.09 today.  That George Bush and Dick Cheney....oh wait, they're not in anymore.  Sorry, just having a little fun from when a number of folks used to say they were why gas was so high.  Anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend.
God Bless,
Dennis

Sunny and high 50's here today.

The scarcasm filter worked well enough that I'm ready to send it out for beta test.  Any takers?  Won't cost much.  I'll take a variety of payment forms - Shay's, warbonnet F3's, streamlined N&W steamers, etc, etc.

Spanky - Happy B-Day

The manager giving me grief is not really incompenent.  Just inexperienced. He has come to the manufacturing plant from corporate.  He is still learning the realities of the dirty, noisy, manufacturing floor where the true value added activity happens. We are still working on getting him 'broken in'.

I agree with you RT.  One wife is enough.

I ran a train today plus thumbed the new Lionel catalogs on line. Some nice new items but boy all the new trains are getting pricey regardless of Mfg. I have banilla and  will wait for Brutus and the thingy. Have a great weekend.....S.J.

Home again.  Raining.  Sun was out his AM and was warm.  Short sleeves this AM and suddenly wind got up and temps dropped.  Just came in from feeding animals [deer, birds, geese, "barn cat" and etc].  Had to wear my winter camo coat and my hat.  Got lawn at lake house fertilized yesterday just as the showers started.  Chat later.

Good afternoon all,

Still sunny in SE Indiana.  I took a quick peak at the latest Lionel catalogs.  Just about all the cars I wrote about a long time ago (and thought would never be made again) are in the new Lionel Scout set or expansion pack.  The short box car, the short tank car, and the short gondola are all present and accounted for.  Brainel O-27 and I are two happy campers.  Combined with Graham Rahal being 11th quick in first session of practice for SFR and this could be the makings of a great day!

Keep on training,

Good morning all, went to final night of 4 day mission going on at church last night preceeding Holy week.  Was able to make it three of the four days.

Navy Jack, by all means if you get bad chest pains call the ambulance.  Like the fellow said, they can sort it all out later.  I had a sister from Florida visiting us one spring who had an accident at Yosemite National Park.  She only had medicaid from the State of Florida which was not much good in California but the ambulance had to take her all the way to Modesto which is quite some distance from the park.  They sent her a bill but she was unable to pay it and they finally wrote it off.  I have medicare with a supplement but we have good doctors here and I have no problems so far except one eye doctor would not take it.  I found another who would and he was highly recommended.  The cataract surgery was just fine.

TCA train meet tomorrow in Arcadia.  Theme for show and tell for March is Passenger trains.  Hope this meet is more active than the last one.

Have a good week end,

Ray

Wait, Laz, let me get this straight: you know a contractor who actually showed up when he said he would: wow! congratulations! Wink

DOUG, yepper but it is on the account he is a friend of the family.  So yes we are very lucky, they are hard to find, contractors that come to the job.

Aloha from a sunny but cold Crystal Lake where I get to work from home because I'm taking the middle boy to O'Hare later: he's flying to Boston to spend spring break with relatives. (Most of you know he's had his struggles - he's had a good year so this was a reward).

Wait, Laz, let me get this straight: you know a contractor who actually showed up when he said he would: wow! congratulations! Wink

Bob, I've been browsing various websites to see the equipment on your mountain. Do you ever visit the other equipment or I'll bet you have enough work just at your site?

Brutus, I thought your bride's numbers going up is a good thing. Is it now bad?

8n, I'm glad you are working on your sarcasm filter. I've found the more incompetent the manager, the higher their persecution/jealousy filter. There seems to be a scientific ratio.

Dennis, maybe you can build a bat house for your guests before you roust them out - it would be a good project with kids. I'll try to take a photo of the one we built.

Ole Timer, blessings on your son's wedding today.  Prayers for everyone's day.

Morning all!

It's a beaut here. Sunny and 70's today. We are close to setting a record here with the number of days since it last hit 80 degrees (back in October). This is the second longest stretch so far for N Texas where the temps have not topped 80. The record was set in 1913-1914. Gotta love global warming. Might hit 80 next week.

Busy day with conference calls and have to go to the ins co office to sign over title of the wrecked car so we can pick up our payment - then to the bank! Cool

BTW - Is Buckeye gonna be watchin' Purdue vs Duke tonight????

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 40s after a dusting of Snohio last night (and I was thinking of mowing the grass this weekend...hmmmm).   My wife and I went to see a Celtic fiddler last night at the local library.  There was a big crowd of ...oh almost 15 people there, but we bought two copies of the CD.  My dad was there as well.  Relatively quiet day at work yesterday and finished one project that had been hanging fire for a while.  Could be a good day today.  New Lionel catalogs are online and practice for the St. Petersburg IRL race starts today.  Would be nice to see both the 14 and the 67 cars in the top six for qualifying and on the podium for the race.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime.  Prayers for all who need them.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning all.  Have two cases today, but one is following the other, so I will head in shortly.  Hope it is a nice day and I am able to finish the tractor work.  Also have some specific things I want to tackle on the layout.  This morning, I saw some bats flying around my bell free, I mean my attic vents.  Got photos of them in the attic.  They actually put screening up, so the bats are only between the screen and the actual vent slats.  Will have to figure out how to get rid of them from the house, but hope to arrange to keep them on the property to keep the bug population low.

Wife is working tomorrow, so I will have to bring daughter to her ballet practice and then it is me with the kids for the day.  Let's see, should I use them as free labor on the layout, or should I come up with something fun for us to do?  (Wife would hate it if I brought them to the zoo or something without her)

Will check in later.  Hope each of you have a great day.
Dennis

Long night here at the 'scope. The first day is usually a long one what w/ getting up here and then working a 10 hour shift. Had to get up a few hours later and go see if I could wangle some more liquid nitrogen from the LBT. We were running low. I've heard of some cats getting nervous if they see the food container low, but some of our employees don't seem to wonder where the liquid nitrogen comes fromGrumpy

Then a bunch of stuff went down at the same time and I'm up in the dish, restarting computer programs, and trying to get overheated equipment to cool down. Alas, all is running now.

RT - was 8N's wife with some back issues, sorry 'bout the mixup

Ole Timer - congrats on the wedding!

DJ - 17" rims? They sure make 'em taller these days. Sounds like an interesting car. I always liked the Monte Carlo SS's too.

NavyJack - take care of yourself. Know what it's like to be a a distance from a hospital, but better safe than not I guess.

Doug - enjoyed the pictures of the Hustler (the B-58, not the magazine guys...). We have one in the Pima Air Museum and I've seen Greased Lightning which set a continental speed record at Offutt.

Need to make some more coffee and try to stay awake here.

NavyJack,

If you start having chest pains again, get help asap.  If there is one thing that my first aid instructor has stressed, it is to not ignore chest pains regardless of age or condition.

OT,

I haven't tried BC2, but the guys at work say it is very good.  Have you tried Fallout 3?  V.A.T.S. is a wonderful thing.EvilBig Smile  I can't quit playing FO3 or Forza 3 lately.

Not much else to report.  Can't wait until the semester is over.

Mixed bag of drizzle, clouds and sun here today.  Maybe got up into the mid 50's.

Frustrated with management at work.  Got non tooling type managers (I'm a 'shared resource') telling me how I need to solve the start up issues on one of my new sets of tools - which are already 90% solved.  This too will pass.  All I've got to do is to make sure the proper format of problem solving paperwork is filled out, then all of my problems will magically dissapear.  Methinks the long hours lately are getting to me.  I'll have to install an extra scarcasm filter before I go to work tomorrow morning to help keep me out of trouble.

Got a bid in on some 200 series Alco parts.  I've got a project in mind that is going to involve some hackie chopping that I just can't bring myself to do on 'good' Alcos, so I am trolling for beaters.

Thanks for the LBT explanation Bob.

 About all for now.
