The Nimitz may be the flagship of the United States Navy ..... but as far as the north of the mason dixon line yankee only navy the yatchet is their flagship .... I think you're getting a little confused with the local pot north - SOUTH conflict ... LOL ... and the U.S.A ..... .... the United States Navy is'nt the Yankee navy ...... LOL ......

I received the classic, irate "The teacher is picking on my poor, sweet, innocent, could never do anything wrong, the teacher needs to adjust her teacjhing methods, my daughter is misunderstood" phone call yesterday regarding my 6yo granddaughter. So over the phone I was silently nodding my head in agreement with the teacher while feigning shock and dismay to my daughter. Daughter picked up on my sarcasm, though.
Apparently the "No Daughter Drama," as well as the "Once Son Moves Out He Stays Out" clauses in my parental contract have been repeatedly violated. I'd move to the North Pole, leaving no forwarding address, but I am certain they would hunt me down.

Prayers for those in the rainy areas, Moms and Dads in rehab, grandparents raising grandchildren, back surgeries, and all the rest of us and our loved ones.
Wife is doing okay - has ups and downs with numbers, which is expected but stressful. Last to recover will be her hemoglobin, since that was the thing most affected before. She'll probably need a transfusion tomorrow. We were going to go to KC this weekend, but her Mom is sick with a bug, so can't do it - too dangerous.
Nice talks with RT, SJ and Charlie tonight. Doing some big wishing on the new Lionel catalog (online) - need to get a paper copy soon.
Tardis is ready - banilla will be good, but no pie, had a piece of cake tonight already. Beacons on!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Checked e-mails when I got home this evening and got the great news that mom has been released from the re-hab center. She and her knew knee went home today. My sister will be able to spend some time with her as she gets used to being back at home.
Banks - My wife had a pinched nerve flare up last November. She went through some pain control treatments that did not help much. We finally got in last week to see an orthipedic specialist - good news/bad news. Good news, we know what is causing the pinched nerve, bad news is that it is three vertibrae with two cracks each. She is wearing a back brace now, which helps some, but ultimately, she will have to get surgery. She is feeling well enough that she has signed up for water arobics - calorie burn to loose some weight, which will help her back and get her in better shape for surgery.
Too busy this week at work to get to the LHS. The new Lionel catalogs probably arrived there on Tuesday.
Prayers for those in need - especially those dealing with wet weather.

Great to see you stopped by Banks. Regarding the red dirt, we have Georgia Red Clay. Hard as steel to dig into when it is dry and slick as snot when you are driving on it when it is wet. But it does make for some good peaches, peanuts, and vidalia onions. It is also the soil of choice for Horse Shoe pits, if that means anything to anyone.
Was going to go to bed earlier, but wife was still up and I got the bug to go run some trains. Ran the Southern Mikado using the Legacy control. Was real sweet!, but I did notice several spots on the layout that need some trimming to make the larger pieces be able to negotiate some curves. I did have one derailment...I was trying to push some scale box cars from the back of the layout and it worked fine till it got to a turn. No damage and it was fun.

Hey!!!! I forgot to post this AM [as if anyone noticed ]. Was real buys. Took Lucy to the beauty parlor in neighboring town by 7 AM. Back for ribbon cutting at liquor store [lots of food but no free samples ]. Trimmed limbs and shoveled beds in garden [yes all of them are ready for planting]. Planted squash and zucchini. Tomato plants will be ready first of next week. Got some now three feet tall [started early and plenty of liquid fertilizer]. Did get in a running of the new C&O. Took the Big Boy off of the layout. It does not like Realtrax 072 switches. Will throw a traction tire about every other switch. This C&O will pull just as many cars and so much easier to run. It will not have the Big Boy's siding.
Mike C, post any time you can. If you don't post, we will not be happy. Just can not think of enough "digs" to get you a lot.

Having a great day here. Went to the local Ford dealer on my way home to check out 2010 Mustang GTs. Amazing doesn't do them justice. Gorgeous inside and outside. As soon as I pushed the clutch to the floor and turned the key, that was all the motivation I need to finish the semester and start working full time.
When I got home, there was a note saying that the Probe was ready, so I picked it up. They did a beautiful job. I had my doubts (and no sleep last night), but they did a great job.

OK, kids are at school and I have a few moments before heading to work. Been watching the news and checking emails....sometimes it is just depressing. I hear that the EPA has just changed CO2 to a pollutant. That being the case, we are all polluting by breathing. What ever happened to CO2 being good for the trees?
In another note, heard a great quote today. "Remember, the government can never give you anything... until it has first taken it from someone else".
Plan on going to gym first and then cover for any emergencies. It is a little slow this week, but that has worked out as it gives me a breather to re-energize my batteries. I have had the chance to gather some more information on things needed for the movie. Gotten some quality advice from some of the professionals in these things.
Jack, I hear that things should be drying out up that way. They are saying that this is the "500 year flood" for you up there. Don't want to cast any disparaging remarks, but....back in 1994 and again in 1998, we had two 500 year floods down here. They were over 26 feet above flood stage. You may recall the images of floating caskets. I do hope that you do not suffer similar problems
