Hopefully the jet stream will stay far north from Mar 5-14 while MamaDiesel and I are at Disney World with the daughter, son-in-law and four grandchildren (Josh, eight yrs and 6yr old triplets).
Do you think I would get away with calling her MamaDiesel ? Noooooo!
Jim, Thanks for the clip. I will pass it on and think twice prior to using the phone.
Prayers for all those in need. Espicially for those in harms way.

Buckeye....Those coordinates are generating a lot of hot air. I will adjust for a severe wind and give 10 more degrees of deflection. The elevation looks good. A powder advancement to the maximum of " Charge Four" should do the trick.

Picked up the free TV. Boy, it's huge. But it works. Going to wait for the teen to come home to try to move it. Hurrah! Also got a few railroad 'photo' books at the library and had a nice phone chat with Sir J. A delightful day.

HI GUYZ,
Well NO SCHOOL today for me. Big disappointment in the SNO HI O. CHUCK get it right with those sites. Missed us altogether. We got maybe 1 inch and they closed school. I was bumming, but what can I do? Ran trains, worked out, changed turtle water, took dog for walk, got my PC back hooked it up. Maybe NO SCHOOL tomorrow because I just saw a snow flake?
SPANKY, sorry for your loss,. I lost my DAD 12 years ago and miss him dearly. Prayers for you.
Stay frosty,

Good afternoon everyone. Been a long day as several big cases and they have all required a great deal of attention. One of the guys who is also on this diet snuck out when he broke scrub to hit the lounge and had graham crackers and peanut butter with a cup of coffee.... cheater! I guess he deserved it as it was better than 5 hours on bypass.
Doug, thanks for the suggestion. This well feeds the irrigation system, we have county water for the house. When our house was built, there was no piped in water, so the builder had a well dug. Between the time the house was built and the time we purchased, they paved the road and piped water, so the builder ran water lines to the house and we now have the well just for irrigating the lawn and trees. The well is about 200 feet from the house, but does have power, so perhaps I will do the light bulb trick. Will not be able to leave a faucet trickle though.
It is really dry here. My hands are so dry from constant washing/scrubbing that they are cracking. Of course, this diet thing has me a bit dry too. For the first time in five years, my wedding ring comes off quite easily....My wife will love to hear that Only fourteen more days, then, I will get a nice big steak with all the trimming.
Chief, have a safe trip. Hope you don't get caught up in all that nasty snow. Also, hope they serve Grits where ever you go.
God Bless,Dennis

Spanky,Sorry to hear about your dad.Mine passed away in 93 and I still miss him very much.Glad you have come back and look foward to more viaduct updates. Chief,If you keep taking good care of your mom we might give you a pass to visit. Jim thanks for the video and have forwarded it to my 15 year old(keeps giving me the count down until she drives).Oh man more hair falling out of my head!!!!!
Good Evening, 32 and a wintry mix in Central Jersey. Got off from work after working a double. Chief the forecast is temps in the 30's and SNOW and WIND until Saturday. I live 56 mi. South from where I work and my Mom, who is in her 80's is 10 minutes from the shop. So I swung by, cleared her driveway and sidewalks, had dinner (and if my BIL is reading this) a HOME COOKED MEAL, I am going to take a shower, a nap and make it back to work for 11:30 for more fun and adventure. My Mom enjoys when I come over and she normally has a list of things to do but not this time. Laz, I teach part time at the County Voc School and they closed down today also. My daughter teaches High School Math and they had an early dismissal.
Spanky, My condolences to you and your family. I lost my Dad on Memorial Day Weekend, 1998. I was with my daughter and son at a car show with my 1965 Mustang and a funny feeling came over me that something was wrong. At the time my Mother in Law was living with us. She had recently suffered another stroke and she had a number of health issues. We came home early much to my wife's surprise and told her that I had a felling that something was wrong. She said that her Mother was fine and at that moment the fateful call came. I never felt right going to a car show from that day on and I hardly go to shows or cruises since.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone. John
Now I'm able to sit and read the many posts.
First, my Condolences to DJ Spanky on the passing of his Mother. I'm not looking forward to that day.
Brutus....Sounds like the home front is getting back to normal.
Ray....I'm glad you like the photos.
dwiemerBuckeye, Did you ever hear "He just needed shootin'" as a valid excuse for killin'? That is often used around these parts, so I would caution against the Sherman thing!
Dennis....I've never heard of such a thing. What's it mean?
Jack.....Oh, the inhumanity that is heading your way!

fifedog......Do you want to ride in the parade with Chuck and me? You can sit in front so everyone can see you.
Pat......How far to you live from Petersburg, WV? http://www.wvrails2010.com/ Do you have enough room in the barn to sleep everyone that hangs here on the pot?
Chuck....Why didn't she get a red Crown Vic? I took your advice and bought a Hummer today. Paid full price as you suggested. Did I get a good deal? Keep up the good work with the SNOWOHIO cannon.

We are 112 Mi from Petersburg, WV. Sounds like a great weekend! Don't know about the barn, but between us and Fifey we should be able to handle all. I hadn't heard about WV Rails, but I bet Fifey has. Right Fifey? B&O trains!!

I'z here!!! Drive was the best I've had in years. First item of business is to meet with my buddies that are the national execs for Bass Pro Shops. Get their word to never sell anything to a Yankee Scalawag that goes by the name of Buckeye. Then stock up on lots of ammo for all of my weapons. This will keep those Sherman Yanks above the M&D.
Now off to Hooters next door for something HOT to bring back to the hotel room and enjoy.
Wings to bring back to the room..
Fooled ya didn't I.

Pat....I discussed this weekend with fifey. He told me he was really busy that weekend, cleaning his sock drawer, matching the tupperware lids to the tupperware bowls, taking his sick fish to the vet, fixing his tire where the ground hog bit it, and polishing the toilet paper holders. He sounded really busy to me, so I'm not counting on him to show up in WV.

Good Evening
Sunny but cold 20s today.
Now that the pavement is clear and dry, yep it's going to snow again. I stayed in today, just goofed off. Waiting for the thing, it's pretty cold but I got banilla if the crew wants some.

Nice chatting tonight with Wes, RT, and SJ. Wife's numbers are still going up, including the hematocrit, so we are doing really well so far Got some train magazines in the mail. Nothing much else going on here today, just chilling since I got home.
Tardis is ready to go, so turn on your beacons guys! Mike, you can run the ship while I check some of the wiring. We've got a slight power drop in the stern stabilizer? Could be an overload due to the glitter ball the guys installed in the "lounge"
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Evening all
Bride working night shift in Peds, kids in bed and I just finished a Sam Adams! I am blessed indeed.
I took a few pictures of the new to me 764 Express station. I really like it. It is the gray instead of the white building. Looking forward to the future layout to put it on.
Going to bed early tonight. May God bless
Good news about your wife. Keep chilling you deserve it.
Waiting for the weather to clear so we can crank back open. Otherwise a fairly quiet night. I caught some of the Olympic coverage. Was very moved by the Canadian skater who won bronze whose mother died of a heart attack on Sunday. Wow.

Morning folks. Bob, did not see the race, but read the report...yes, very moving. Brutus, glad Char is doing better and that her Hematocrit is rising. The thought that has evolved over the past few years is that bank blood should be avoided as much as possible as there are a lot of "side effects" associated with it. Of course, when your HCT is too low, you need it, but they have lowered the threshold number for when to give it. Glad she is making her own now. Tell her to keep up the good work!
Well, did my daily reading and had breakfast. Time to head in and tackle the early case. I will most likely get a workout in some time today. It has been a long week, and I look forward to getting some rest tonight. Bride has to work one of her two days per month tomorrow. So I will not get rest with the kids.
Have a great weekend.Dennis
Hi GUYZ,
22 and BLIZARD CONDITIONs here. OFF SCHOOL AGAIN! WOW I will be going to school til July? Gonna cut into my driving the real train up at the PIONEER TUNNEL. Oh how I miss those 90 degree days, tending the fire on the 0-4-0, where inside the Cab its about 130 degrees?
BUCKEYE, TGIF!
FIFE, I didn't know you sorted your socks?
SF.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 24 degrees. Going up to 28 today with a chance of snow later. This weather is starting to be a pain.
Today is busy. I have a few things to do around the house. Then, I have a pyhsical therapy session this afternoon. No train time today.
Buckeye......TGIF
Dining car is here and it's the usual for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Friday.
hello guys, i was really tickled by all that talk about going to pats barn. i could just see him holding you guys off with a shotgun in true thomas jackson fashion. ha..ha..
god bless all you guys. hope you all have a great day
Hello all
Quick check in this AM
Windy and cold with lot's o' Snow blowin' around. Me thinks the SNOWOHIO gun could have had a misfire.
Spanky, my condolences
Dennis, get some Bag Balm for your hands, best stuff there is for chapped hands. Farmers discovered that years ago.
I'm not sure how the weather will affect our Parish Seafood Buffet this evening. We shall see.
Best get to work.
Prayers for all who may need them.

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 20s and 30s. Roads were clear, but traffic was heavy on the way in this morning. Chuck, make sure you load double canisters of grapeshot Snohio in that snowcannon for the full effect. Stayed up way too late watching the ice skating with the wife. Hopefully US will win medal count for once. Long day at work yesterday. Had to take down floor layout of standard gauge so wife could do some rearranging in back room. Hope to have it back up soon. Tired of this weather. Walks at noon are bitterly cold. I had the regular fare on the dining car as it moved in from "Points East". Several nice articles about hauling "black diamonds" in the latest issue of Trains. Brutus, Tardis was much more stable after you fixed the wiring. We have to set up some sort of standards or clearance so that only authorized people can make modifications before somebody gets hurt messing with it. Last thing we need is OSHA or the EPA on our backs :-) Prayers going out to all who need them. AJ's team was 13th quick yesterday and within one second of fast time. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Snicker, snicker. Yanks are getting it again. SNOHIO. Get those snowblowers and plows going. Mike C, you are hitting your Yankee "buds". It is snowing in the mountains where the ski lodges want it. Here, sunny and cool. Off to the store in a few. Got my list ready. One reason to work this event, get discount and need several large items along with the regular stuff.
Jack, you have a dam that has broken up there. Now for a "little" snow.
OT, we have those Yanks crying for relief. Going to make LAZ go to school all summer rather than running that steam engine that he ran last summer.
Later
Buckeye RiveterPat....I discussed this weekend with fifey.
He told me he also had to:
Breed Flamingos,
Clean his boat with a toothbrush and toilet paper,
Rebuild the Fifepup 2000 to run on grits,
Sort his whites by size,
Test different train smoke in the bedroom.
Me thinks he just doesn't want to go to WV.
Mornin' boys. Snohioway (snow + face peelin' wind) here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Schools 2 hour late.
WV - The good folks in Petersburg picked a weekend where both the TCA and NRHS conventions are going on. Hi-Lite will be the WM 734 rolling south on the SBV. Would love to be there, but I get down there when I don't have to "share" my favorite shortline with 1000 other doodles.
Papadiesel - Have a fun trip to FLA. Oh, stay away from big fish tanks.
Aloha all. Sunny but brisk with the breeze from the west - only 18. A friend gave me an old TV I can use in our basement with the video games and for the bride to watch when working out. It must've weighed 300 lbs. But the teen and I manhandled it downstairs and hooked it up. What a great gift. Though I can't imagine getting it up out again. Last day for me to visit the Art Institute at lunch as 'free February' runs out. Ah well.
