Chief, sorry to hear about your Mom's situation.  Will pray for her...I know you do so much for her continued care.  She is fortunate to have a son like you.
RT, glad folks like you are there for our Vets.  They deserve the best and with you, they are getting it.

Buckeye, sorry for the late Birthday wishes..but HAPPY BIRTHDAY anyway.  Great that your bride got you something quite useful...even if it didn't have flanged wheels.  Funny, we get a tool, or piece of equipment to do chores around the house and we are grateful...just try giving your wife a vacuum for her birthdayBlack Eye
Fife, Not sure I could go for the piercing thing, but then I couldn't be there for daughter's ear piercing.

Chief, you'd be proud, eating GRITS while I type this.  Grits are actually allowed for the Daniel Diet.
was a decent day as I had to take wife and kids to the fun park and then it was time to work on taxes.  Hope to get those finished shortly.  Have my Mom's old accounting firm do most of them, but we still have to get all the numbers in for them.

Today, they had auditions for the next movie, but I didn't go.  Not planning on being a character, but will have plenty to do behind the scenes.  As they say, I have a face for radio.

God Bless,
Dennis

Never ever give the bride a 1. can opener, 2. a snow brush, 3.4.a broom, 5.a mop, .6.a package of light bulbs, 7. a shovel, 8. a rake, 9. a set of jumper cables, 10. a six pack of beer, 11. a deer head, 12. a shotgun, 12. an HO Train, 13. a tackle box, 14. a lifejacket, 15. a gife certificate to Bass Pro, 16. an air compressor, 17. a book on how to take care of the car, 18.a snow shovel or 19. a lighted neon beer sign. In only took me 19 years of marriage to figure it out.

Keep trying Buckeye, one year you just might get something she likes, maybe a new vacuum sweeper, although it's tough finding something they don't take back.

43 degrees today, but as expected the brown grass will be covered again before monday nite. A do nothing day for me so I'll just wait for the thingy with a fresh supply of banilla.

Well, got all these groceries and they sent me out to buy dinner from Jack-in-the-Box, lol!  See if I cook dinner again (tonight)!

Nice talk with Kurt today, told him he can drive the Tardis tonight Smile  He has his own set of spare keys.  He sure is an artist - sent me some pics of his progress on a certain train station project Thumbs Up

Just a lazy day here really - bunch of family time and forced olympics viewing.

TARDIS is ready, so let's get going - beacons on!

Wow, busy day.  Went to funeral home visitation for brother of Mayor friend of mine.  Sat in aline of traffic for a long time.  DOT had the I 440 closed to one lane for 4 miles while 6 guys were noting cracks  with paint for contractor when resurfacing.  Vehicles backed for miles and the guys were only working at one little section.  Then to the local JD dealer and he was closed on Saturday's during Jan. and Feb..  Visited Miss Edna's for a while, came to Rolesville to Hunters Haven and picked up rifle, watered greenhouse, washed 4 Runner and Silverado, changed and went to wedding.  Just got home from reception.  Tired.

Here are a couple of photos of new rifle and scope.  BTW: did get it in gun safe but barely.  Had to do some rearranging.  They give you the number of guns that will fit in a certain safe.  They do not tell you that you divide it in half if they have scopes.

Ohio fox and beaver killer.  BTW: I can get out of my truck just before dark at the pond path up the hill, leave the motor running, stand at the back near the tailgate and foxes will run back and forth by me.  Motor not running and they will not come out.

Good night all.

Good evening all,

Some of the Snohio was starting to melt in SE Indiana today finally.  Watched some of the Olympics both last night and today.  That Lindsey Vonn should get some endorsements somewhere.  Did some "retail therapy" with the "saucy wench" today.  Saw where the Princess was 31st today in California.  Had donuts on the dining car for breakfast when it rolled in from "Points East".  Dennis, good luck with the movie.  Hopefully you will have a cameo.  TBIL anytime.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a mild 36 degrees. Going up to 40 today with some sunshine. A lot of the snow is melting , but there's a lot more to go. We might get some rain later

Today is an easy day. I have an errand to run and some little chores to do. Then, I'll watch the Nascar race from the train room. I will enjoy that. McMurray is the guy to watch. He has the Pole.

Buckeye..... Good Morning.  You are up early.

Dining car has arrived from " Points West ". Buckeye ate all the donuts again. Cheerios for me.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Aloha all. Grey and cool here. My Sat. class went well.  Remembered it's hard to keep something going for 7 hours. Watched an awful early 90s Meg-Ryan-Alec-Baldwin movie last night with the bride - Prelude to a Kiss. So bad it was funny.

Buckeye, this is still your birthday-celebratory-weekend. You must be pampered and waited upon. Tell your bride. Gee, I don't get it - there sure were some thoughtful, useful items in that gift list. Readying for church. Looks like we may get a foot of snow overnight. Hope they're wrong and it heads south to Brutus and points east.  Wink

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 28 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Need some nickle and dime stuff from Home Depot today.  Spent yesterday afternoon with my Mom, as her birthday is this weekend as well.  Took her to Chesapeake City for dinner and some window shopping.  Perfect day, just me and her.

Blueberry - I think the coolest thing form the 500 was seeing some old familiar faces (Steve Hmiel,  Tony Glover, Felix Sabates) in Victoy Lane.  Good story.  And, although NASCAR fans have villainized her, this was Teresa's 4th 500 win.  Smart lady.

This new math stuff taught in the high schools has me confused.  Laz spends two days at a teacher seminar on a weekend probably learning how to pound nails and saw some lumber.   Assuming he is there 8 hours each day, 8 x 2 = 16, but he gets 30 hrs of pd time. Maybe since it is the weekend, he gets time and one-half or 8 x 2 = 16 x 1 1/2 = 24 hrs of pd, but that doesn't equal 30 either.  Confused  BTW, your $200 could buy me a nice belated BD gift. It is really warm here today, 36 degrees right now.  The beach is calling my name.

Good Morning,

36 and sunny down the Jersey Shore. We have a wintry mix in the forecast for tomorrow night. That can be anything. Todays project is to change the clutch slave cylinder and fuel tank on my son's 1984 Ford pickup. I am hoping to tear down my GG1 to investigate it but other things keep popping up.

Enjoy the Day, John

SJ - Are you sure that isn't the Chief?Evil

Ole Timer - Looks like a typical back yard to me! And that motel can be a home away from home.

Chuck - It's good to see a new face at the top of the NASCAR heap. McMurray earned it.

Chief - Those are mechanical fox and beavers. They are activated by the sound of the engine.Whistling

Chewy scored some Jimmy Dean sausage this morning so she is happy.  Raining here, Doug - no snow?  I think we are due for some tonight/tomorrow though.  We have this river right next to us that is tied to a huge heat sink, so we tend to get a little different weather than the areas around us.

Today is a train day - ttfn!

I had to regain my composure after reading Buckeye's list.......what a laugh.  I have found that there is one functional tool that works out pretty good for a wife gift, lasts a long time, is a reminder of your love, is used and enjoyed by her every day, and can be used by you too....

It comes with an ignition key.  No, it is not green with JD emblazoned on the hood.

Here is what DougM and MikeC use as a fall back when they get to the 11th hour of what to do for that special day.   http://www.sybaris.com/modules/main/

Buckeye: Anniversary Gifts, I worked with a guy who was in the middle of a divorce, so he got her a CEMATARY PLOT and then complained that she did not use it. Another guy that I worked with agreed with his wife to get "pratical gifts". He brought in a picture of the "ungrateful wife" holding a meat saw so that she can cut up ham bones for soup. That was 35 yrs. ago and they are still married, retired and into their 80's. I have worked with and still work with some characters.

HI HO, HI HO, IT'S OFF To.............Oops...wrong day.

SHHH, we are trying not to let him know Alzheimer's has started.

Afternoon.  Went to Sunday School in my shirt sleeves.  Sunny and really warm.  In fact, pond water must be heating up as that green slimy mossy stuff has really started going.  Means I will have to put about 8 hundred to 1 K of lime in it.  Did that last year and it "ate" it up.  BTW: still snohio on the big rock ledge next to the pond path.  Sun does not get to it and the rock is still cold.  We have actually dried out.  I could disk garden.  Suppose to get some rain tomorrow but not the big flooding kind.  Having to water greenhouse a lot.  Sunny days are now driving it over 90 degrees [where the fan comes on].  Got to get tomato plants going for the garden.  That way I can grow a couple and transplant when April comes and theya re already blooming.  Makes early tomatoes.

Dennis, we going to do a repeat of last year?  I'm ready.

Got to save some $$$ to fly to Ohio and give Buckeye some fishing lessons this summer.  Want to help him out before his mind really goes. Whistling

Good morning all, had eggs and grits for breakfast.   Good ballast food so the wind won't blow me away.  Had a little more rain overnight and shower or two this morning.  More coming tonight and next week.  This stuff will eventually drift across the country and become snohio for somebody.

Found some audio tape yesterday for transferring music from CD's to tape so I can play in my car on the tape player.  Don't have CD player in car.  Tapes are becoming hard to find but I got 10 for $7.99.  If you only bought one it was 2.99 ea.  No contest!

Ran some trains yesterday with no pile ups.  Can't say the same thing though for the Union Pacific on Tehachapi loop in California.  Got a report this morning that car loaded with alcohol derailed in tunnel under the loop and was on fire.  All trains being rerouted over the coast line.  That line only sees one or too freights plus Amtrack per day usually.  The fire was still burning one and one half hours ago.

Got to get ready for church and get going before it rains again.

Good day all,

Ray

Smilehello gang, wife got home from church, and she is a eucharistic minister, gave me communion and then she proceeded to make me a good breakfast with whole hog, eggs, tomatoes.  i must have been a good boy.  first thing i saw this am in our side yard was a buck guarding three does(one was pregnant) and she was off her feet..  they nibbled on low lying branches of one of our apple trees and left.  the buck was angry, like he knew he was being watched, he was pawing the ground.  i felt like getting out some iron, but here in illinois we have a law against firing a weapon within 200 feet of another house. well the start of an interesting day.

BUCKEYE,

I gotta go back on March 6th and March 20th for two more sessions of 9 to 4 and also have to do these 30 minute surveys on line about all the good stuff we talked about.  Me and another guy are the only males in the class along with 16 females.  Lucky us?  I wish we were pounding nails and sawing wood.  Its about controlling our emotions.  We are in a study group from PSU, kinda the gunnie pigs.  Not to bad, they even feed us.

Good evening everyone.  Been busy with church and family activities all day.  Had a lot of fun with the kids riding bikes and drawing with chalk on the driveway.  Had a fantastic speaker at church today.  He has been very active with Disney for 30 years.  He also consulted with us regarding movie business.  About ready to head to bed.  Early morning tomorrow, so I need some rest.

One sad note that I read as logging on tonight:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100221/ap_on_re_us/us_train_hits_pedestrians

Hard to understand, but my heart goes out to all involved, the parents, the engineer/fireman, and the rest affected.

May God Bless each of you and your families.
Dennis

PS: Chief, not sure about April York as we will be filming.  I will have to check the schedule.  May have to try for October?  I will let you know.  was  a great time last year

Just advice guys - if you get a popup that says you need to run some virus software from a webpage, just close down your computer - don't hit any buttons on the popup including the red X button to close that window.  I was reading about some worm that is out there the other day and in the past 3 days I've had two different websites try to attack me.  F-Secure and Microsoft say my system is clean, so that's good.  Apparently if you click anywhere on that window or probably on the infected webpage, you are launching the actual virus on your system.  One of the sites was a newspaper in Alabama and the other was a site about modeling with polystyrene - was "browsing" to it on google.  I also read that someone in China, apparently a college over there, has been attacking Google and a few other sites big time.

Screwed up putting up a bracket in the bathroom - though I hit the flange behind the drywall at the edge of the shower, so tried to drill it out for a toggle bolt.  After a minute I realized I was drilling wood!  Dang - could have used long screws and got it that way.  Now, I'll have to fill the hole - I guess with plaster, and then run some really long screws; or - move both brackets up a couple inches.  Learned my lesson I guess.

Then, I uncovered my layout in the basement and gave my GP9 a run with the Hogwarts passenger cars.  Cranked it up and then realized I needed to hit direction - zoom!  Luckily, I hit the panic button!  No damage was done, but I did derail a couple of the passenger cars.

After that, all I did was cook dinner, lol!  Just one of those days I guess!

Tardis will be ready, but someone else better drive tonight for saftey sake!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
