Ole Timer - Marty-land losses another company.  NO. STOP. I can't believe thatSign - Dots  Drive away business = drive away salaries = drive away tax base = who in the Wild-Wild-World of Sports is gonna pay for all those pie-in-the-sky programs...?

On a more pleasant topic.  If you are at Rocky Gap, hop over the mountain and do a little railfanning in Cumberland, or head down to Orleans crossroads.  Hope you have nice weather.

Surely will .... hope to get alot of railroad pics .... we're trying to plan to get down to Paw Paw and Oldtown area too . I'm taking 2 small memory cards .... ordered a 16 gig but it did'nt arrive in time . i'll just dump the pics on the laptop . Hopefully I can get pics of every bridge in cumberland ... if I don't get ran over or  hit stopping on that overpass to take them .... lol .  Black Eye I'll smunch down a coney island hot dog for you ....

Dennis .... that's a great idea they have at that school on those tickets ... would be wonderful if all schools had that program ! Lord knows most kids today think money grows on trees ... as the old saying goes . I used to ask for a " WHOLE DOLLAR " .... hopeing dad would give me one .... now they want no less than a $20.00 bill or two and think that's nothing .

Good Afternoon,     IT'S " PEARL HARBOR DAY"

Sir James, Hope you are feeling better. Never had a stone BUT just returned from the dentist. Started a root canal (my third this year). Don't think I would trade. At least it's happening prior to my cobra (dental) expiring in a few months. Let me know if your going to the Mad Heights show on the 20th. Would like to meet you in person.

On my way home from the I stopped by my LHS in Clinton TWP, MI and picked up my MTH AeroTrain. Will have to wait until tommorrow to run it.

Howdy guys - well, talked with RT earlier.  Son was sick last night and also had a sore on his mouth.  I had today scheduled off as we were originally going to be at KC for 2 days.  Took my son to the doc and they put him on antibiotics and he can't go back to school until Wednesday per school policy even though the doctor wrote that he could go back tomorrow.

Evening.  Great Town Board meeting.  Was done quickly and came home.  Did Christmas tree lightiing just before and cable access channel TV interview.  BTW: open this link and scan through the photos until you see the yellow convertable.  First Lady, First Dog and Mayor riding at the beginning of parade.

Eveyone, GET WELL.

Drove 200 miles with neighbors to get their kids to school and then to get them car ins. and a used car.  Took all day.

Cloudy and 30's here today.

Lost part of the afternoon to the insurance company.  We've got a catch 22 going with the pre approval of my wife's treatments.  Long story that I detailed in the post that just dissapeared.  Must be a sign.  Suffice to say, it is frustrating to work through medical insurance.  Seems like convienence for the patient has been designed out of the system.  My wife's treatments are simple compared to what others are working through.  Must be a good reason that the system is the way it is, but I sure don't see it.  If we ran our factory the same way, I'm not sure we'd ever ship any product.

No train stuff tonight.  Vegged in front of the TV.

Lter all.

We are getting all kinds of snow and wind. Must be a foot out there at least. Due to my foot being covered only by a bandage, sock, and the brace, I'm not venturing out into it. Spent most of the shift organizing a couple of tool cabinets. Boy, amazing what ends up in these things after almost 20 years.

Working on ordering parts for the 258, mainly just the brushes and springs, but I'm also going to pick up some other stuff I need.  Have to put this on hold 'til I get the parts I need, but maybe later I'll clean up the 1615 and lube the Amtrak FA.

Watched the next part in the Dream-Plan-Build series. Some good stuff in there. Think I'll keep 'em up here for a good diversion once and a while. I'll try and post some pics of our winter wonderland later.

Still have to light the exterior of the house, I might be able to get that done tonight or tomorrow.

Probably closing the door on the PHL move, I just cannot afford to spent that kind of money to move (it’s all on my own dime, no company help AT ALL), it jest ain’t in da budget and my 401K is for education/house/retirement ONLY.  But, as they say, God closes one, opens another.  Dennis – one word – Fairfield!!

Sunny, breezy and chilly.  Warming though.  May have some T'storms tonight as temps rise.  Got things to do.  Maybe get neighbor [who I hauled around yesterday] to help get leaves up.  He loves running my leaf blower.  Going to go check beaver mess.  Buddy who hunts cleaned it out yeaterday.  Seem to rebuild each night.  Will have to go "spot light" them I guess.  Word is out in beaverdom to hide from the Chief and his rifles. Mornin' All !

Weather has blown thru, lots of rain & wind yesterday. Just some clean up in the yard, some tree branches and leaf litter all about. Neighbor had a tree come down in front yard, no damage to house just some landscape repair.

Bob, Keep your head down and stay indoors, another nasty storm due to come ashore thursday so you'll probably see it fri/sat timeframe.

Chief, How about a pair of nite-vision goggles, know any retired snipers from Camp Lejeaune ?

Angel for all those in need.

Afternoon fellas.

I know I've posted about this before, but has anyone watched the tracking info on a package via UPS? I ordered something for The Q for Christmas, the store is in California... Los Angeles to be exact. Well I received shipping notice yesterday and started to watch it... Went from LA to Cerritos - in 5 hours - now it is back in LA! At this rate it will be here sometime mid-2011! Smile

Guess it is all that green stuff in CA! Laugh

Brent,

I have had that happen with UPS as well, but the packages usually got here in a reasonable amount of time.

I have been very busy designing a web site for a team project that I am involved with, and I didn't have a chance to post yesterday.  I got some Christmas shopping done at Best Buy on the way home today, and I also looked at digital cameras again while I was there. The Kodak M341 display model was charged today, so I spent some time checking it out. I was split between the Kodak M341 and the Cannon A1100 when I purchased the Kodak last week, but I am glad that I bought the Kodak now. I'll have to wait until Christmas to get my hands on it though.

I put the Christmas tree together yesterday, so I'll get a box of Flyer track from the basement and see if my plans will work. The tree isn't decorated yet, but I just can't take it anymore.Big Smile

The ones I love is our great USPS as it will say ( especially the ones done from home) package info been transmitted but this does not mean USPS has custoty of it and it will stay this way for 4 or 5 days then you check and it says eithe rout for delievery or delievered as your mail man has scaned it but still has position of it. ( mine does that then leaves a note in box that to have redelivered fill out and put in your mail box but after 3 days you don't get it so you goto post officew and finally find out that they don't redeliever so my question why give forms that say you do if you fill it out? answer from postal employee I don't know.

Rich, I used to go past Fairfield all the time on my way up to the fire academy.  Nice place.  Also had some folks I knew from there on the FD.  Guy was a cop and his sister and he both were on the FD in Fairfield.  Wild bunch to be sure.  Also have a best friend who is a Newark FD. Batt. Chief who lives just a stones throw from there.

Brent, I order a lot of items from The Train-Station in NJ.  They use UPS all the time.  Used to be, you could check the tracking and know that an item would be here on X day as they said.  Now, it usually arrives the Tuesday following the Thursday that the tracking would say it should.  Of course, since the service has gotten worse, they are going up with shipping rates in February.

Well, was a long day and it is just getting longer.  Son has a program their class is doing tonight at Church.  It will be cute and fun, but will certainly make for a longer day.  Wife went shopping for cold weather clothes for the kids for our trip to NJ soon.  They are all hoping for snow....I on the other hand have had my share of the stuff.

Chief, of course  you should be the first photo.  Maybe they should make it their photo on the home page!  Congratulations, looks like Y'all had fun.

God Bless,
Dennis

DES MOINES, Iowa – Fierce winds ripped away the roof of a police station, thousands of people lost power and drivers stuck by closed highways settled in to wait as storms swept out of the West to the nation's midsection Tuesday.

Much of the Upper Midwest was covered in deep snow, and strong winds Tuesday night were expected to create blizzard conditions. The storm had already blanketed much of the mountain west and drenched Southern California with rain.

I have two Flyer loops down so far. I have the both the 755 Talking Station and 718 Mail Pickup down as well. The 755 seems to have a dirty cam lobe for the contact to start/stop the train, so I'll have to clean that. I have also discovered why Gilbert changed to a larger motor after the 332AC. Even after a thorough cleaning and lube, the 332AC goes nowhere fast.Thumbs Down I'll get pics of my progress asap.

 Good evening,

Bad weather heading this way as well.  The good part is that it is supposed to snow over night and then turn to rain about 5:00 AM.  Now if they have it right driving should not be to bad.  I have no where I have to go tomorrow, but wife has 1 mile to work so, if there is snow on the roads, I will be driving.

Daughter had 12" of snow yesterday in Southwest CO and another 6" today.

Stay dry and warm.

No trains today but hear good things about the Casper Car arriving at stores/shipping out.  Hope I get mine!

Going to a funeral tomorrow morning from work, then back to work.  Snow expected overnight and it rained all day today.  Kids are hoping for a snow day already, but I think we are not supposed to get any accumulation this time.

Tardis is ready and beacons are on the screen so let's get going, want some banilla to go with these brownies I baked.  TTFN!
