HEY BUCKEYE,

Just saw a clip on TV about ROUDOLFH, OHIO.  Anywhere near ROGERS CORNERs elevation 936?  Neat clip about their post office and all the Christmas mail.

laz57

Laz...I thinki Roudolfh, Ohio is just down the road from Fleatown, Ohio and near Chuck.

Winds maxed out around 54 mph at the Columbus Airport.  Temperatures at 6 am was 52.  At 8:30 pm it was 28.  Sun was out this afternoon.

Howdy guys - cold and flurries in St. Louis today, but the roads were completely clear all day.  Went to a funeral for a friend's Mom this morning, then to the St. Louis Bread Company aka Paneras for lunch.  Turkey sandwich with cream of tomato soup - yum yum yum!

No emails from Charles Ro yet, so don't know where my preorders are.  Still waiting for my Halloween Gateman too - hope they all come soon!

Bob - glad the foot is getting better - watch out for the snow!  Jon - too funny!  Prayers for JimSP, 8nT's wife, and the rest of us too.

Tardis is ready - time to fly!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Cloudy most of the day.  I don't think it made it over 20 degrees.  Thermometer said 13 degrees tonight when I was on my way back from the store.  It is clear and windy, so I don't think the low for tonight is here yet.

Car/train accident on the Kansas City news tonight.  Neon got hit at an uncontrolled crossing.  Killed all three in the car.

Jim - thanks for the heads up.  I'll keep an eye out for the Aerotrain.  Have you thought of using Loctite on your slipping cam?

About all for tonight.

Good Morning everyone.  Golly Chief, each time I'm looking at your posts...more bad news.  Sad about that Deputy.  The world is indeed heading in the wrong direction.  Well, have a couple of cases to knock out today.  Still a little on the cruddy side.  Took some Tylenol Sinus "Daytime" formula.  Hope that holds off the congestion.  No fun sneezing in a mask...Yuck!  Will stop off at Home Depot and pick up a few items for the layout.  Was using some expanding foam spray to go vertical, but it does make for some hard work to keep things from falling over while working.  We shall see.  I used toothpicks cut in half and stuck in the extruded foam.  Plan is to chip away to make it look more realistic after it dries.  Only one area needing this, so I hope to make it work.  I'll let ya know.

Gotta run.

Chief, Not sure if you saw it or not but 4 officers were gunned down near Seattle 2 weeks ago by a loan gunman. They were inside a coffee shop prior to the beginning of thier shift. No one else injured so they were definatly "targeted". Killer was later shot and killed. Come to find out he was a paroled convict from Arkansas.

Good morning all,

It is windy in SE Indiana (lots of backdraft from the Tardis) this morning, but the roads are clear.  Did weights and soccer drills at the YMCA last night.  Watched "Glee".  It was sort of a mid-season finale as it wrapped up several story lines, and left some hanging.  Long day at work with lots of meetings, but I still got a lot done.  I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning for breakfast before sending it to "Points East" for breakfast.  Chief, those are some sad incidents you have posted lately.  Dennis W., hope your work goes well today despite being a bit under the weather.  Jon, good pictures of the "dining area".  TBIL, and I can drive again.  I hope everyone has a good day.  Prayers going out to those who need them.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 37 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Finally got around to working on those signals yesterday.  Do a little more layout work today.

jefelectric - the Shake-n-Bake express rolled into fifedom yesterday.

Chief - Fighting evil always commands a high price.  First thing I thought was, "Hey, I kinda look like him."

strogey - That execution style slaying actually was very big news here on the east coast during those couple of days.   ...and then it was revealed who set the bad guy free...Disapprove

Happy AM...Banged Head

Went to bed at 9:30 was 75, now 56 n heading south....cloudy & windy.

Still feeling the effects of my stomach virus, might be time to see the ol’ MD.

Came home last night, finished cooking dinner (I had a little), watched a Charlie Brown Christmas (DVD – no thanks to the pre-emption last week by some empty suit), and the 1992 sequel It’s Christmastime again Charlie Brown (which wasn’t so good).

One of the Princess’s friends ran away last night, “missing” is the police terminology, so the princess way duly upset.

I have a Christmas party this Saturday, I cancelled the overnight accommodations due to tightness of funds.  So, I get to sleep in my own bed, no biggie.  Need to finish outside and inside décor`, and get to work on the layout for a friend.  May take a day off, so I have my own time to finish.  Need also to sell the LGB stuff and remaining “O” scale trains.  Time is getting short.

Just for good measure, a 21-year-old firefighter was found dead by a gas station here in Jax.  No robbery or assault.  No clues, until they found his weapon in the bushes.  Turns out his girlfriend found the gun on the seat of his car and was playing with it.  Told him, Do you think I’d shoot you?  Didn’t know it was loaded.  She’s facing manslaughter charges.  His Dad is a LT. for the same department, different station.  Another very sad story.

Jon - Thanks for the SNOHIO pictures, AHHH memories...

Angel for everyone – it’s Christmas!!

Good Morning,

It's a nice "BLUSTERY"  morning. The wind tipped the manger over last night. Daisy and I will will are going to go out and set it up again and secure it more properly. Still have power. Children are trying to et us to join them at Disney World in March at someplace called the "Shades of Green". Very tempting.

In regards to releasing convicts, for budget considerations, the Governor and politicians are: releasing prisoners, closing prisons, cutting school funding mid year. To cover it up, all we hear is that there is heated debate to ban smoking.

BLESS YOU ALL !

Morning.  Temps still above freezing but dropped 5 degrees in one hour.  Now as for the frigid temps in Yankeeland.  You deserve it. Whistling

Mike C., did not take the bait about scoccer.  Out smarted me.  Scoccer is a tough sport and requires lots of skill and "going power".

Did see the Seattle thing.  Broke my heart.  As you know, very strong on law enforcement and officers.

Now to get ready for a luncheon speach at the retired ITT employees Christmas Party.  Then speaker at Elderly Ladies Sunday School class tonight.

All have a great day.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is cold.  20 degrees. Wind chill of 7.  Snowing lightly.  We are excited about this great weather. Planning a cookout tonite.

Today is easy. I had a bunch of errands to run, yesterday. All done. So, I can take it easy today. Think I'll read my latest copy of CTT. Jan., 2010.

Dining car was here and we had the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

The cop killer was set free by more than one person in several jurisdictions. First the  Governor of Arkansas commuted his sentence from 60 Yrs. to 10 Yrs.and  released him in 2000.

Then the state of Washington on numerous occasions released him on bond for second-degree child rape, third-degree assault for an attack on a police officer, busting up car windows, Etc.

Chuck, be sure to invite His Honer to your cook out!

8n,

I had thought about using loctite or super glue, but that is a last resort. Due to the critical nature of the adjustment, I am hesistant to do that. The station works well, but the timing is slightly off. That causes the train to stop later and leave later.

Jim,

I am thinking of buying a Super Motor. Right now, a 290 would outperform this 332, and I am not happy with that. I'll be sending you a PM shortly.

I took some of the Flyer steamers off their shelves last night and gave them a workout. I ran a 312 SIT from 1947, followed by my dad's 342AC. The 342AC has a cold solder joint at pin 3 on the plug, so I'll have to fix that. I forgot how those like to get up and go as well.Big Smile Although the 312 SIT is in great cosmetic and mechanical shape, I still prefer my 312 SIB due to the sound.

Aloha from a brisk Crystal Lake where it is 3 without the wind - up from - 2 a few hours ago and -15 overnight. Thanks a lot Jon. Our neighborhood looks like the final scene in A Christmas Story with all the frozen snow - I'm thankful for a roof overhead and a furnace in the  basement. And buried utility lines. LOL. I don't want to accompany the bride on her 'shopping rounds' today. Hmm, I hear the garbage truck coming down the street - only two days late. Gotta get the cans out there.

Hope you're feeling better, Dennis.

Good afternoon all

Just a quick check in during lunch break.  Pertty cool outside.  It was snowing on the way into work.  Very dry snow and no accumulation.  Going to kepp plugging away at the Christmas decorations.  The kids "helped" me get the figures for the outdoor nativity out of the garage loft.  We will try and get it set up tonight.

Jim - I PM'd you

Go to go,

may God bless

If and when you ever have multiple relatives (if ever) in this fight, you can come and PM me and we can discuss this.  I have had at various points in time no fewer than 3 of my close relatives in theater during the last 18 years (and, yes, that includes Iraqi Freedom).  You have no clue about who you are talking to and you views are not exactly on par with this site.  If you wish to contiune this argument and it is in my opinion, then thats fine.  You can PM me anytime and my e-mail address is not exactly secret.  My family has given most, if not all to the military and historical achievements and advancements to this great nation. And people like yourself, benefit from their anomimous service.

To my friends here, including the editors and providers of this site:

I want to thank you for letting me post here, without banishment.  I have been warned before and if you feel I am out of line here, I accept your punishement.  For the most part, you all have become friends.  I am sorry this may be beyond the bounds.

To you all I say:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Bless us all including our Military Heroes and those Police & FireFighters that protect us daily.

And with that, I will close this subject and refrain from replying to said"edw", ever.

So why in the world would you trivialize a speech that was important, not only to military families, but to all Americans?

I suspect it was your deep dislike for the man in the “suit” that prompted you to make such an insensitive remark.

Rich, you talk a good game, I just wish your actions measured up to your lofty rhetoric.

I decided to remove the 332 from the outer loop and run the 322 there. I am now thinking that the performance of the 332 might just be the result of dirty track or loose pins because of how the 322 is also running.Banged Head The last time I ran the 322 on the permanent layout, it ran very strong, but it runs poorly on the Christmas layout. The fact that the problem got progressively worse as I ran the 332 supports the dirty track theory.

I know that the content of the Coffee Pot thread roams here and there, but lets try to avoid politics and sailing into the risky rocks of deletion. Or something like that.
