How did or is the race going. I walked into the counrty store for a box of fishing worms and I heard the announcer say something about the Jimmy Johnson show.
Fished, took neighbor and his son shooting the .22 match pistol and the .17 rifle. Kid is 16. He was over joyed. He loves to fish and hunt. Think I will try and take him off and on.
Now for a shower and REST.
Later.

I have been on the road for something like 14 hours since Saturday morning. This was the weekend where the Great Grandmother's all came to see the new Grandson, sometimes known on this forum as BnO. I believe I drove the shuttle-bus from Ohio to Indiana and back to Ohio twice.
Wife purchased more BRIO this last week. I told you guys, my O Gauge days are numbered. I'll start packing up the O Gauge anyday now to put it up for sale.
Lake House....all most done. Chuck could you help me inspect the roof?
While in Indiana we attended the graduation party of a friends daughter. The daughter was valedictorian of her class, a real accomplishment. (Not one of those let's honor the top five hundred.) Five years ago, her father took his own life. I was a pallbearer at the funeral. So much talent wasted. Nothing solved.

HI GYZ,
Went to GUN SHOW yesterday in Harrisburg. Dissappointment, big time, seems like another GUN SHOW was down near Philly this weekend too and half the vendors were there. Oh well buddy did buy amini 14 by Ruger in of course 223. Nice gun has the Springfield action on it like the SOCOM. Suppose to have gotten good reviews from American Riflemen? We'll see at the range? Big disappointment in trying to get ammo too. Way high prices on everything down to .22 ammo, $25 for a brick of .22s? OUCH!!!! Glad I have stocked up. Better get the stuff while you can.
Ran a nice 6 miler through the NED SMITH Lands today was a great day with cool temps and nice little breeze. Not much else doing today going to take it easy rest o day.
Stay frosty,
Doug, I'm with ya on that. Finally got to sit with bride and kids as they had media team covered. Daughter's teacher did not show up, so we had her in the sactuary as well. After a good message, we had Sunday School in which the guy who directed the movies came and spoke about how until it was turned over to God, the movies were not going anywhere. Also, never limit God's ability. Like Simon and the fish, drop down your nets. Jim, sorry for the loss. In my line of work, I see too many who die long before their time. We grieve for those left behind and pray for God to meet them at their need and bring His peace and comfort.
Chief, hope Miss Pam's headache gets better soon. I have one and am going to take a little something now. Still on call and hoping the pager stays quiet.
God Bless,Dennis

Morning all. Sunny and beautiful today! Supposed to get wet and cold later - and back during the week - rats! Ben-zilla, our youngest, had a great birthday - I sure enjoy watching a little kid enjoy a birthday - I think his highlights of the year is 1) Christmas; 2) end of school; 3) birthday. Remember that? We have four baseball games over the next three days to catch up with all the rainouts. Sure hilarious watching 6 - 7 year olds play the game. Lots of prep work for the first wave of our office move on Tues. Haven't been able to take more than a peek into the basement.Bob, I may joke about it, but this Chuck E Cheese was actually spotlessly clean, relatively quiet (at 10 am), and a decent deal. I'd hate to see it at 2 pm-ish though.Nice day actually sitting in the service with the bride at church. Never get to do that...Jim, prayers for the wife and kids of that fellow who passed away suddenly. Hope folks rally around them.
Good Morning All
Not a good track day yesterday, laid another 6 feet of track on the second level and getting the red light, going to have to pull it out today and find the bad spot. To make matters worse one of my Ross 054 switches on one of the main lines came apart where the rail connects to the slider, this will be a real treat to remove.
Switched one side of the TIU over to varible yesterday and ran some Postwar locomotives. Really like operating Postwar locomotives with the DCS controller, you get a voltage readout on the hand controller screen allowing you to adjust voltage in 1/2 volt increments.
Received the LCCA Lion Roars magazine yesterday. A 3 page spread on the next LCCA set developed by Louie Caponi, a reproduction of the 216 Burlington passenger set. Really looks terrific, Louie does a great job on these reproductions.
Have a Great Sunday

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a beautiful, sunny day. 67 degrees. Going up to 82 today, with a lot of sunshine.
Today is an easy day. Relaxing. Watching the Nascar race from Michigan. I was sorry to hear that GM pulled out of the Nationwide and Truck series races. A lot of teams will feel it. Have not heard anything about the big races ( Sprint Cup ). Maybe GM will stick with that one.
Dining car was here for breakfast. I love corned beef hash for breakfast with eggs. That's a Yankee breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Good Morning
Today is FLAG DAY
If you have a flag get it outside today.
Bright sun and 77 forcast for today. Enjoy.

Someone (probably Buckeye) told me you had spies everywhere. I guess I had better clean up my act, especially before Laura returns.

Chief - You didn't miss a post. Haven't posted in a few days. I appreciate being missed though. Have been busy with farm and garden chores, watching NASCAR, reading the threads on Father's Day, Etc.
"Always a bride's maid, never a bride" applies to Kyle Bush so far this weekend. Came in second in both the truck and Nationwide races. Maybe he can be the bride today in the cup race.
Went to number one daughter's house last night for steaks on the grill. They live in town and Amtrak goes along their back property line. Got to see two passenger and one freight train go slowly by. I enjoyed that.
Shucks Mike C, I wanted to drive tonight. I got dibs on tomorrow.
Dougdagrump - That cornbeefhash concoction of yours would put more than a zip in my walk. I would need to be near the outhouse!
MichRR714 - to Lucas.
Jim - Truly sorry about your friend. It is never easy to loose someone, but at age 51 and young kids?

Morning all. Hot and humid. Off to Sunday School. Was going ot early Church but Pam has headache. It followed her home from the lake yesterday.
Charlie, great looking engineer you have there. Happy Birthday to him.
Lazy day [I hope]. Chat later.
Good Morning all from beautiful Southern Ohio
Happy birthday Lucas!
It has been a very busy week and had a hard time keeping up with the pot. but you all have been in my thoughts and prayers. If you wouldplease keep a dear friend and his family in your prayers, I've know him for over 30 years. We worked together all this time and in our younger day, lifted weights and ran around together, well, he had a massive heart attack and died at 51. He had a lovely wife and two young kids.
Got to go, need to go for early Mass,
May God bless
Jim
Morning to All,
Happy Birthday to Ben and Lucas. Charlie - Great photos of Lucas with the CAB-1. Doug - Chuck E. Cheese was just an awful place as far as I was was concerned, loud, rude kids with loud, rude parents and rotten food. Of course my son and nephew used to love it. I suppose I'll wind up there with the youngest nephew or some future grand kids some day. (Although at age 24 my son is saying he'll never have kids, time will tell)
Yesterday's school carnival was great but tiring. I stayed until 2:30 PM, by then the crowd was thinning. I spent a few hours in the Fun Flusher, sitting under a spigot that ran cold water over my head. Some of those kids have great arms and great aim. I had a set of first grade twins that hit the target something like 7 out of 8 tries. I was soaked to the bone. Glad it was warm and sunny. The Fun Flusher is much easier than a dunk tank, there's no crashing to the bottom of the tank and then climbing back up on the seat. After the carnival we came home and took a nap, ate some left overs for dinner, then watched about half of the Nationwide race before falling asleep in the chair.
Today will be a yard work day and then hope to get in some train time in addition to watch the NASCAR race from Michigan.
Take care,
Mitch

I love good cornedbeef hash, especially when it is fried up nice-n-crisp topped with some jalepeno cheese sauce and eggs. Puts a little zip in your walk !
Crazy day at the museum yesterday, lots of visitors. Can you say "Schools Out" ! Plus a couple of the wyes, reverse loops, were causing some problems. Tried vacuuming out any kind of debris that might have been in them but no luck. Think maybe they are beginning to show their age, kinda like me.
Our grandson was here thursday nite, grampa knows what he is getting for "Father's Day". They should know by now that he can't keep a secret.
Next weekend is the big All Gauge train show & sale, hopefully can find a few items.
Any of you know anything about "beading chain" ? Came across it on a jewelry supply site and it looks like it could be something to use for flatcar. etc. load chains and the best part was it is cheap.

Good evening all,
It was cloudy but dry in SE Indiana. Mowed the yard and walked to the YMCA to do weights Friday night. Went to the parade to see Sarah Fisher this morning. She was driving an IRL two -seater with nothing to tell you who she was or what she was doing. The car would stop every once in a while and the "saucy wench" went and got her autograph. Went to grandson's birthday party in Indy and back to Greensburg for a graduation party for one of "my" soccer girls. Long days. I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car this morning for breakfast. Beacon is lit and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day. Steve W., most of the IRL races are on Versus this year, which used to be Outdoor Living. Speaking of the IRL, AJ hired Ryan Hunter-Reay to run the rest of the season.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Evening all!
Had about 6 inches of rain here this past week - so the yard is watered. Hot and humid (mid 90's today). Daughter's boyfriend who had been mowing our yard each week is gone to Chicago to be with his father the next 6 months (he is out of HS also) so I have lost my lawn help. Did the lawn this morning and it was hot - ouch.
Getting ready for vacation to TN the week of the 4th. Got a hub on the boat trailer throwing grease so got to get that fixed. It's in warranty so just have to get it to the dealer this week.
Hope everyone is having a great evening!
Regards, Roy
Good Evening
Chief hash IS good breakfast food. Heck you can even eat grits if you want. Just keep them south of the M.D. line. Overcast all day Till: just before sundown of course. Brutus is out tonite and I don't know where the Thingy keys are, but if y'all come around Banilla is waiting. Or Butterpecan and Rockyroad...S.J.
RR, been there and done that. We are better off than some I have seen. Parts of ears missing and parts their nose missing. Wear sun screen.
Home from the lake house. Had interesting PO meeting. Pres and Secty jumped me publicly for a letter I sent all the PO's. Then they got jumped by some PO's for their attack. All I did was sit there and smile. It eventually came out they were lying about something. Keep quite long enough and they will tell on themselves. Then the vote came for new Board memebers and their team lost. The Pres resigned and now the "bad guys" left on there are too. BTW: the Secty did not get re-elected. As one of the incumbents that is a "good guy" and got re-elected said, "Now we do not have to put up with them." All they have done is cause turmoil and spent $$$$ on lawyer's fees. Folks had stopped paying their PO dues [not required] due to their actions. Afterwards, while riding the golf cart with Lucy, got stopped several times and thanked for my letter and helping get the "bad guys" out. Its bad when a loud minority causes problems for the peacful majority.
I smell fresh brownies. Got to go. SJ, I love hash for breakfast. Do NOT think that makes me a Yankee.
Where is Partick? I may have missed his post when I was looking back.
Frequent and fervent prayers are sent Heavenward for all in need!!!!
Thirty minutes, 5 slices, and 2 freezes with liquid nitrogen later, I walked out of the dermatologist's office yesterday. Ran a few errands on the way home and then CRASHED for the rest of the day. Got an estimate to replace 27 year old roofs on house and garage. My train budget and the other budgets as well will be taking a BIG hit. No trains for a couple of weeks but I did watch an Erie Lackawana video this afternoon.
Monday is the end of the first half of 2009. Hope the second half is better for all tha the first half has been!!!!
Mel Hazen; Jax, FL Ride Amtrak. It's the only way to fly!!!
Afternoon all. Cold and rainy today. Back from Chuck E. Cheese where we celebrated the youngest's birthday today - he's seven. Feel blessed he's been able to be a part of our family. Glad he shares his special day with Lucas. What a place. We had an early party so it wasn't so crazy. Welcome back John Baker!
Good Afternoon,
Finally sunny and warm up NH 70's today. I agree with Sir James on the Global Warming comment.
I dont see the big deal with the father/son picture ; everything today has to be politically correct. There are abandoned raillines in my area that one can walk or snowmobile in the winter. That does not mean an UP Freight or the Acela is coming down the tracks. Just common sense, I know a railfan who is always walking near, on, over RR tracks to get pictures sometimes with his kid. One has to be aware of their surroundings "situational awareness".
Good morning all, we are getting a little wet sunshine here in Southern California today. Just a drizzle but at least I don't have to water the lawn but I can't take my walk until it stops. We had a nice get together last Friday night as mentioned with DBaker and others at my layout. I have'nt done much since then except had to replace all four tires on my F59PH Metrolink engine by MTH. I never saw all of them go at one time. I think the engine had been sitting so long they all dried up or something and bingo they were gone when I moved the engine. Big fight going on here between KFC and Pollo Loco over grilled chicken. Pollo Loco claims KFC uses beef flavoring and really cooks the chicken in an oven (not grilled) but the beef flavoring is only .02 per cent of the total spices used. Anyway it taste good to me and I hope is more healthy than the fried stuff. Gas prices seem to go up everyday here a few cents. Regular is up to @2.87 last time I looked. It will probably hit $3.00 by next week. Don't these clowns know we are in a recession? I for one have cut out all unnecessary driving long ago and I'm sure others will as well. Have a good week end y'all,
Saturday? yes friday the 13th is on saturday this month....
