Enjoying my first coffee since this started (yes, it's decaf). Boy does the selection get small when you are looking for decaf.

Happy Birthday S.J. !

Brutus - glad to hear your news. Sounds promising.

RT - I spend a day helping a friend set up an extra-fancy ceiling fan. Opened up the box and was tempted to call "many planes, heading Midway". It was pretty neat and a good unit, but a real project. Plus, I had to reinforce the box in the attic. Did I mention this was in Phoenix, in the summer? Oh boy...

Doing better today. Still sleeping a lot, but it looks like we will be adjusting the meds down, which is a good thing. More tests Friday on what is making my internals try an outside loop on occaision, from the inside. Being stranded at home has had his advantages. I'm catching up on appointments and such and on stuff around the house.

Hopefully this post won't run all together. Happy to have the little IBM laptop running Linux back. Never thought I would end up using a mac and longing for something else.

Hope everyone has a good night

Bob

Jim - don't forget that giant BLT and Chocolate Shake for lunch!  Oh, wait, I ate that at Crown Candy.  Well, I thought about you while I was eating it Laugh  I might put that up on SPF - took a pic, just couldn't believe it!  Happy Birthday again!

Today was just run run run, kinda like a normal day for Chief I guess?  But, taking it easy now and had a nice chat with SJ too Smile

RT - sorry I missed you?  Sounds like you have the same luck with ceiling fans that I have.  Glad you got the job done though Thumbs Up

TARDIS is ready and see a bunch of beacons - oh wait, that's the glare from a zillion little candles?  Laugh  Better go grab some of that good banilla and rootbeer!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening

A great day for me, thanks to all my forum friends..I got phone calls from Brutus and Charlie and all the wishs from here. And our critics just don't get it do they. A shame, they are missing a lot  We had rain this morning so granny and I walked at the mall, had an afternoon dinner with daughter and family at a local steak house. Boy I ate too much. Then # 1 son shows up with guess what, yep two bags of White Castles. Well it's not my fault, I had to eat something with him didn't I? so here I am after two games of PS2 golf, they let me win. No room for cupcake or banilla but it's here for ya. Thanks again "potters" for a great day.......

I figure if I don't eat till sunday I can enjoy fathers day...S.J.

Sir James:  Happy Birthday!  They beat me to the sliders...Talk about the gift that keeps on giving...

Charlie:  Happy Anniversary!  Belated.

Brutus:  Great news!  ...  about no new bad news.  I'll take a 50/50 chance!  We can beat that one with prayer easy!

Chief:  Prayers for FiL.

Beacon is on for tonight!  I'll bring the Root Beer and Banilla...I was hoping for cake, but I can't seem to find any candles.  Confused  Someone has been buying them all up for some Birthday Party...I guess we settle for Root Beer Floats!

Morning all.  Still rainy.  Not much to do until 3 PM.  Then go to regional transportation meeting.  May go to the lake house tomorrow for a few.  Gas has jumped up 25 cents per gallon in a week.  Hope all have a great day.

Good morning all,

It will be another odd day weather wise in SE Indiana.  Hopefully will get our game in tonight.  I practiced with "my" soccer girls last night until the thunder chased us off the field.  Also got to visit a little with my Norwegian soccer friend and her girlfriend.  She is nice as well. They are staying at our place Thursday night and hopefully will watch my game tonight (weather permitting).  After I dried out at home after the practice, I swept the house.  The plumbing work went well.  Everything was fixed in less than an hour and the bill was much less than expected.  Work went well.  I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast.  Beacon is lit for after the game.  Jim, glad to hear maybe the tide is turning in your favor.  Bob, good to hear your situation may be getting better as well.  Happy birthday, Sir James!  Prayers as always going out to those who need them.  I hope everyone (especially my Norwegian soccer and her friend) have a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all!  I am at work, finishing a few loose ends before heading to my meeting.  Did some last minute shopping last night.  Most of it will work for both Hilton Head and the cruise in September.

Doug, don't get your hopes up with Bull Street Station.  It is just about all HO and smaller.  A few lionel starter sets, but that is it.  They have a HO layout in back, but I have never seen it run.  It is usually covered with junk.  Also, the atmosphere is not too kid friendly.

Brutus, that is good news on your bride.  Won't be easy treatment, but at least you are heading in a good direction.  Gonna be plenty of rough spots, but keep her focused on the final outcome.  She will remain in our prayers.

Chief, glad the FIL is responding to the treatment.  Hope he is back to his usual self soon.  I am sure Miss Pam is happy with that.

Well, I will check out, but I do hope that everyone has a great week ahead and a good Father's Day.  I may be able to check in from the resort, but not sure.

God Bless,

Dennis

Happy Birthday Sir James - hope those SLIDERS don't get you up early tomorrow!  Thanks for the good chat tonight to you, Doug, RT, Bill, and Wes Smile

Thanks for all the good prayers guys.  I know that the BIg Guy is listening.  Talked to transplant doc, manager and an intern today ("Fellow").  Doctor P said that we have a 50/50 chance to cure her condition with a transplant.  They are checking wife's sister's to see if they are good blood matches.  Basically, she will be in the hospital for about 4 to 6 weeks where they will do chemo to kill her bone marrow etc, then they give her good cells from the donor and they engraft into her bones making new clean marrow.  Then she will be out for a few months - maybe 6 months.  Doctor says he sees this about once every 5 years - pretty rare condition.  We saw some pics of her bone marrow and it looks like spiderweb, that's the scar tissue.  Other tests are negative so far, so no apparent cancer, which is GREAT news.  So, no new bad news and actually some encouraging news compared to some stuff we had read.  Funny - on drive home, we were comparing notes and although we were sitting there and heard the same stuff, we heard some things differently Confused  I sort of do this stuff for a living (read medical reports), so I trust what I think I heard, lol!

Chief, good news on your Father-in-Law, keep us posted and glad the prayers are working for you as well.

TARDIS is ready and I'm ready to drive tonight, so you guys get ready - had a nice dinner with just my wife and kids and could go for some banilla and rootbeer tonight Laugh

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Supposed to stop raining for a couple of days.  I'll believe it when I see it.  No rain for now though.

Cooked on the gas grill tonight, pork chops beaten with sage, more pork chops painted with honey & mustard, grilled vegies and pan fried potatoes.  Dry red wine to wash it all down.

Ran the string trimmer after dinner.  Amazing how much better it runs with fresh gas!  Got an odd insperation while I was working around the garage too.  My garage is an old carrage house with vertical ceader siding.  Painted it about 5 years ago and it needs it again this year.  While I was trimming, I ran the line trimmer up on to the siding.  Knocked the paint right off!  So I ran it a little further up the siding - cleaned it ready to prime!  So now I'm thinking how to use the string trimmer to scrape paint rather than a scraper.  The string trimmer is really clumsy to use on a vertical surface.  Maybe a string trimmer head and my angle grinder............

Prayers for those in need.

Thanks for the follow up RT.  Think I can track it down from that info.

SJ - happy birthday.  It was one of those milestone zero types after all.

Evening all!

A hot one here again today. Summer is IN.

Sir J - Happy B-Day!

Chief - continued prayers for your FIL.

Jim - continued prayers for your wife.

Boat trailer wheel hub seals throwing grease. Hauled it over to the dealer - looks like they will all have to be replaced. Still in warranty so no cost except for hauling the thing across town.

Daughter started new job for the summer as the last place kept promising her X number of hours per week and then would call the same day and tell her not to come in. New job promised 19 hours this week and so far so good - they are holding up their end of the deal.

Son off this week on mission trip to Louisianna coast for continuing hurricane Ike cleanup (or was it Rita?). They built some stairs to a house yesterday and tore down a water damaged equipment shed today on the property of some older folks who do not have the ability and cash to do this themselves.

Looking forward to week of July 4th when I am taking some much needed time off.

Have a great day tomorrow all!

Regards, Roy

Sir J does not have birthdays.  He is too old to count them. Whistling  Will ship him a 25 lb bag of GRITS.  That will make him feel younger.

Happy B-Day Sir. J Happy B-Day

Reminds me of a joke.

Old couple was drivng down the highway.  Saw a billboard with EXLAX, makes you feel younger.  So they stopped at the next store and the old man bought some.  They ate a "square" each.  UMM chocolate candy.  "Feel any younger", asked the old man?  Wife says, "No."  "Well lets eat somemore", says the old man.  So they do and drive on.  After a while the old man says, "Feel any younger?"  Wife replies, "No but I just did a childish thing!"  Laugh

Sunny and warm here in the Ol' Pueblo. Went to my regular doc today and filled her in on recent events. I think most of the folks in the office were like "wow". Well she wants to do another test or two and I imagine the cardiologist will as well, but it doesn't sound like the altitude of the scope will be a problem once we get the medication levels figured out. She said I'd probably end up staying on a low level amount, prob due to family history. I can live w/ that, quite literally. Today I actually felt somewhat near normal. Maybe that light at the end of the tunnel. isn't a train coming the other way after all. Thanks to all for the input and encouragement. Needless to say, this has all been a little disconcerting. Sir James - Happy Birthday! Ole Timer - you had me laughing out loud w/ your birthday post for SJ. Where did you find that? SPman - that's a heck of a line up! Chief and Brutus - prayers for you and the family dwiemer - you might be interested to know I dropped off a photo of the scope at the frame shop for my doctor's office (the same cnw1995 found on the web). Had it for a while for this purpose and this seemed a good time to finish this little gift off. They have been very accommodating of my crazy schedule over the years. Well hopefully tomorrow I'll have my regular laptop back. This mac I am borrowing tends to run the posts all together. Plus it'll nice to have more than one set of socks. A lot of my stuff is interned in the blazer at basecamp and one of the guys will bring it back in tomorrow. Well off to dinner, not KFC either. Hopefully chat on the regular computer next time. Bob
