Here are a couple pictures of the TCA Golden Anniversary Boxcar I purchased while visiting the TCA museum during one of our previous trips to York.
Mornin' All.....
Hhmmm a road trip by Chief & Dennis, why do I suddenly have visions of "Waylon & Willie" rolling down the hi-way singing "On The Road Again" ?
Only question, which one is Waylon and which one is Willie ?
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Murphy !
Here's hoping that it will start cooling off today, this has been the pits !

I have been hoping it will WARM up around here so my furnace will quit running. Gas budget payment more than doubled to make up deficit.
Doug M & Mrs. congrats on 20. My wife and I are looking at 25 the end of June
Its acually cool here today and nice about mid 60's would be my guess. beautiful outside.
had a return of the stomach virus this am took some pills for it ( can't even come close to spelling it) seems to help but will be seeing doc tomorrow anyway so thats good. ( wife just cracked me up stuck head in door and asked if I wanted a couple of beef and bean burrittos) (Bless her heart trying to be nice and forgot till she asked all I could say was oh yeah I really want that for lunch with the way I'm feeling)
glad I wasn't planning on going to york this week wouldn't have made it.
Patrick as much as I would love to go to york I don't honnestly see going as I have things I personally would like to get done here at the house first and the main one is new double pane windows as right now ( I just bought this house last june( wifes and mine first acually) the windows in here are basicly the cheap aluminum ones that they use to put in mobile homes back in the 60's and 70's. So York will probally be out of the question for a while even thou I'm off from work in october when it is going on. Only hope is that work will list the promotion that they I was told about and I cna get it it was supose to be listed back in november still waiting that would be about $3.00 an hour increase in the paycheck

Ditto from me to Dug M and Mrs.
RT - Let me be the first to congratulate your 25th.
Stomach Virus - you need some you know what, has 5 letters beginning with Gr---.
York will be around a long time. We would miss you, but you will be giving the rest of us a chance to make a purchase!

I shudder to think what it would be like to be trapped in a car with Chief for hours. At least on the phone with him you can hang up!!!!! When the Federal government started to re-emphasize "no torture" rules, I don't think they had in mind what Dennis has in store for himself.
HOPE EVERYONE WHO IS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE GOING HAS A BLAST AT YORK.

Some food for thought.......why would any woman in her right mind stay married to knuckleheads like us over the span of decades? Gluttons for punishment is all I can figure. Or they just can't resist our suave and debonair good looks and witty charm.
"afternoon all,
Congas on the 20th Doug....I'll hit 20 in August (if we don't kill each other first).
All you Yorkies have a great one....I MAY show up in October...but then the O Gauge convention
in Balto looks MIGHTY interesting (and if I get there a week early, the Firehouse Magazine Convention!!!)
Breezy sunny up to 80 today, I have an Eclipse Convert until tomorrow, the top hasn't been up since last night!
That's all for now - RT you best get better!!!!
Prayers for anyone I've missed (espcially you, Dennis...!)

It will be our 44th in October, how's that for a halloween fright ?
Sometimes you wonder how you have been together for so long and at the same time you hope you will never have to be without her.
If anyone thinks York isn't popular listen to this.
Since I couldn't go to York this week, I planned to visit the three train stores in my area on Friday. One closed Tues. - Sat. to go to York. The owners/employees of the other two that can answer questions about trains are gone to York. The employees left only know how to ring up a sale.
I guess I will wait until next week.
Got to be the latter, but I best not ask Laura for her opinion!
Doug Said:
You have great insight.
Doug when I was still in Va. my boss in his 90's celebrated his 72nd aniversary and if his wife and him make it till this november they will be doing 75th now hows that for sticking it out.
Patrick yeah you wouldn't want me there at york with you I would spend my whole wad the first day including my money for food for next 3 days and money to get back home so you all wouldn't have anything to look at as it all would be in the back of my truck lol.
on me and 25 years ain't the looks lol has to be my wittyness and charm lol
fifedog sir james - I have it on good authority that various law enforcement agencies are beginning to stage at the Merryland borders at 13, 301, 95, 340 and 81. I even told the little toll booth outside of GreenSpring,WV to be on alert. cnw1995 - Happy Anniversary.

WOW ... I'm glad alot of guys are saving their bucks for York ... I'm finally getting lower prices and winning auctions on what I want on ebay .... . Since I only live about an hour and a half from there ... I can go anytime ... so waiting is no problem . i like the Timonium show/sale pretty darn good though ... even though I have picked up much lower prices at the smaller ones . Will probably be cruising with the bro-inlaw ... he's no competition ... only buys brass and 90% HO at that . But good luck guys and have fun ! Hope everyone comes home broke .... LOL . I need the deals .... $$$$$$$$$ ......
Well fife having the main roads watched is a good start, but remember those guys do their best driving on back roads after dark.

Doug--good Iowa weather headed your way
Decided to put the helmet on and go for a ride this afternoon as the temps are @74 with no wind and no humidity, UNBELIEVABLE! There are some fantastic black topped roads in southern IA so off I went with no idea where I would end up (well, not really--I know where the bathrooms and coffee shops are, for the most part) so my short ride turned into 154 FANTASTIC miles Rich--I wish you lived closer so we could enjoy the back roads we have here, huge rolling hills in southern IA with no traffic--there are some old gravel roads that are now blacktopped (poorly) and they are just the BEST. I thought of Chief when I passed a manure spreader and the honey wagon as the farmers are cleaning out their barns Hopefully the good weather will continue through the weekend, the farmers are loving this weather.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Yeah Jon, I do wish I was closer....I did stop by the HD shop today and the Sporty is ready. I can't ride until Monday, want to flush out the drugs, still feel light headed at times and my headache from Saturday is gone. But I have another headache - $360 for the repairs. They only charged me for the parts, so I should be happy, it could've been over $700.
It's late aand I got no sleep last night so it's off to bed. I'll be posting some stuff on the 'bay and getting ready for my Orlando trip. I need the rest.....
See ya 2 morrow!
WEZE here. Got hotel right near fairgrounds. No problems. Yankees tried to stop us in DC with traffic jam at 5:15 on I 495. Did not work. Then the Yankee Cops could not recognize us as we have the Southern invisiable vehicle. Even called Super Cop twice and gave location. He failed you Yanks. Even got sweet ice tea just over the PA line. Asked for it and waitress did not bat an eye. Got microwave but no popcorn. Will dare not ask Dennis to take me to a gro. He's been up since 2 AM. Did great job of driving. Sure is Yankee cold outside. Brought two coats.
Jon E, 154 mile in know where country is no where.
Patrick, watch the M&D border for us. Keep dem Yanks up Nawth.
Later

Could someone help me interpret that statement? I think Chiefy is suffering from pop corn withdrawl and Yankee fresh air, something he has obviously not experienced before. Me thinks he has inhaled way too much honey wagon fumes
What great Northern weather, but a little too warm for my tastes. When it is this warm we can't keep the rift-raft from heading north. I hear a waitress in PA was fired today for serving sweet tea. She was orginally from Mississippi and did not know better. I also heard there was a big ruckus at a hotel at York, PA. Two characters showed up at the front desk and demanded a room in the barn.
Took the boat to the lake this past weekend. Hope to put her in the water when I return from my business trip to Minneapolis, MN. Fly out Saturday morning real early and will have some time to see the sites before the meetings start.
I get the idea that several of the gang or their families are not doing too well. Prayers to all who are suffering or are worring about their loved ones others.
Tonight I will sleep very sound. This great video has given me peace:
Thank you John, my rare, expensive and one of a kind "I Love Ohio" boxcar is being taken care of by a real gentleman and not some Roseyville Rascal.
Good evening
The chat lines open, we got Brutus,Charlie and RT tonite.
Going to help at the train store tomorrow and Friday while the guys are at York. I did run a couple of engines today for a short time. No wrecks.
Banilla is ready, so fire up the thingy...S.J.

Gilligan is ready.
Just woke up from a nap. Back to bed. No popcorn. Do have a lot of Coke Zeros.
Gonna hit the hay, but thought I better post. Some good news today - Dad's echocardiogram was reported by my Mom to have been "good" and he's getting a stress test tomorrow. He definitely has pneumonia and COPD or emphysema - what is the diff? Anyway, he might not have Congestive Heart Failure - not sure, but lasix is shrinking his legs.
Patrick, I told Sir James to drive tonight, I wrecked my back mowing the lawn and down in the trees - weeds trying to come up back there. Too much in one day this early in the year, lol! But, it felt good to be doing something. Sturg-Phish is right, some good hard handiwork will take your mind off things! :)
Tardis is ready, I'm crippled up on the recliner, so somebody drive - maybe Ray this time?
PS - Rich, really glad to hear you are doing better!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
pps - where is 8ntruck today? I guess I missed it, I'm tired.
PPPs - Thanks Ole Timer!
HI GYZ,

DOUG,
Happy 20th Aniversery!!!
MORNING ALL. Raid in Yankeeland. Will certainly get spoils today. Mocking Bird singing out my window. It is saying that I will get LAZ in a trick before I leave. Well, getting ready for today's activities.
Al, will be looking forward to meeting you and yours.
John F., its been a while but hope to see you too. The finest gentleman of the North.
Fifey, hurry up and come this way.
Brent, don't bring Susie Q as I might win her over and she will run South with me [you know us sly old Southern Gentlemen].
I know I will find Roy. Been a long time since we shook hands too.
Sure will be nice NOT to see Buckeye.
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps near 70. Lucas has a full time job this summer working at a food processing place (he gets to eat his scrap). Bad news is that it is second shift and he misses soccer. Worse news is that it is in the GRITS making section of the facility :-) Better news is now he can make alterations in any shipments going to Roseyville!!!! Got to scrimmage with "my" soccer girls last night. No injuries. The "saucy wench" was part of a CASA discussion that lasted two hours last night. Some of the cases she heard about..... I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning before sending it to "Points East". Beacon is lit, and I can drive or recycle tonight. I hope everyone (especially those at York) have a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
