Mornin' All, It's a nice morning today, but they have already issued Flood Watches starting last this afternoon thru tuesday. [|)] After two days of running at the museum I need a little down time to rest my dogs, so I guess I should say thank you to mother nature. Boy I was surprised by the size of the crowds on both days, I figured friday would be busy but New Years Day was a BIG surprise. However it is still very enjoyable to talk to so many people about the hobby and to find that there is still a great deal of interest from old and young alike. Steam engines still seem to be the loco of greatest interest.
Now it's time for football.[:D]

Hi guys,
Today put the christmas tree outside in the garden and cleaned the house for the new year. Then went to the beach with the doggies, they loved it. We had bright sunshine today and a strong wind blowing..
Hope you all are ok, and I hope Jim Duda realizes that a helmet only needs to be weared on a motorbike, and not while taking a bath or sleeping..

Sorry Daan...I fall out of bed AND I fall in the shower and/or bath. I think a helmet and hotpants will be the next big fashion statement...here in the U.S. and Holland. Better buy your outfits now before they're sold out!!!

Unlike you Yanks, us Southerners send good warm things. You Yanks send bad cold things. [;)][:D] The only cold thing we try to send is SWEET ICE TEA.

Yes Tom, and you notice he is hanging around women. Remember Jon today. He is off to a memorial service for a friend and fellow band leader.

Ok, I just spent 3 hours taking down all the Christmas decorations on the house, the tree is still beautiful so it is staying. Lost two plastic blow ups to the storm, Santa and Snoopy blew off the back of the house and shattered into pieces [:(] I might be able to take some of santa and fix snoopy, but Santa lost his whole face and part of his head. Bummer, as they don't make the large plastic blow ups that I can find anymore. Now we get to work on our building this afternoon. Woo Hoo....and watch the Charger game. Now that the decorations are down, I hope it pours....Free water for the lawn.

So...ever wonder where the BIKINI swimsuit came from? Here's proof: it was dreamed up in Spanky's Cove one hot summer day by some dumbass kid who couldn't figure out why the girls wore so many clothes. Notice he's wearin' a helmet...must be tryin' to start a new Fashion Trend...

Home again, home again......... you know the rest of the rhyme.

Good day celebrating life and memories. Spent the first three hours this morning driving to north west Iowa--unquestionably some of the best farm land in the world but on sheer ice, not fun but the good news was there was no traffic! I was born in NW IA and my parents and all relatives were from there, it's always like going home even though I've been gone nearly 60 years. Had a great friend pass away last Wed. and today was his memorial service--huge turnout and a jam packed church. Good to see so many friends and catch up, why does it have to be a funeral or wedding? One of my good train buds lives just 20 miles from here and he sat just in front of me--is that ironic?

The boss got nearly all the Christmas decorations down while I was gone and the house sure looks drab, doggone it. It's been a wonderful Christmas season here with lots of visitors and some good "down" time for my wife, it looks like she may get one more day off tomorrow as we're under a "freezing rain" advisory after midnight.

Hope to find some UP passenger cars tomorrow for that new F-3 ABA set I got for Christmas, I found one dealer who has them but he won't part with them unless I buy the engines.............

Have a good week everyone.

Jon

Jon. glad you had a safe trip. Remembered you in earlier post and knew you were traveling to a memorial service. Past time for me to be in bed. Got to get up by 8 AM as son is coming to help do some chores. BTW, we are forecast to be in the 70's for the next 3 days. 73 today. [:D]

No fair chief, in SoCal we are supposed to get rain for three days. We are supposed to have the 70 degree winter down here.

Actually we need the rain. But have a great day. Enjoy your time with the son.

For me I don't have to go to w--k 'till thursday. So I've a few more days to spend. Temp's are here in the 60's (in your temp reading) and I went to the beach again with the doggies. They enjoyed themselves so much yesterday that I wanted to treat them again..
We don't have rain, and no sunshine either. Just clowds and wind, like a normal dutch winter.. Though I hope for some snow someday..
You sure have a neat layout Tom, every time I see one of those pictures it impresses me again, Thanks.

Have a good day all, and try to enjoy your w--k too, you've to spend a lot of time there, so you better enjoy yourself then..

Morning gang. Good to wake up to Tom's photos. Sun is out and it is warm. Have to turn the heat up to take some chill out of the house before I shower. UMMM, how nice it is not to have to go to W--K or go to S----L. [:D] Well, I'd better get busy as Frankie will be here soon. Could not sleep as late this AM. [:p] All have a good 2005 at your W--K and S----L. [snicker]. God bless all.

Cold and rainy here - the perfect weather for going back to work - Just about finished being sick for the week too. Did recover enough yesterday to puzzle out how to wire the semaphore - with the help of several forumites - now to work on the Girard station and signal light over the next few weeks. Good luck to those of you beginning school this week.
