Good morning, everyone.

All checked out fine at the doctor's yesterday. A little tired this morning. Too much maple syrup last night? Nah!

I'm glad to hear the Chief had a good time at Kalmbach with the CTT guys. He told me all were nice fellows. I've got to admit to being a bit envious of his visit there. Chief, just remember whose idea it was for you to go there!!!

Jim F,
The guy selling the Hindenburger is the same guy you bought the pond and water tower from.

Dennis, you lucky son of a gun!

I'm on a self-imposed train restriction. Still, "Post War Fever Grips Hub" (Boston's nickname is the Hub)

Dr. John,
I will take some photos of my 2400 coach's progress this weekend. But I will tell you this. I'm finding that my years of painting and polishing model cars has kept me in good stead with this little project.

Gonna be a busy day here today.

Have a great 3 day weekend, all!

Jim

Good morning from a damp and cool Gettysburg.  Currently 50 with highs to be about 58 with rain.

Still fighting this allergy/hay fever thing.  Not sick enough to stay home, but not feeling great.

Construction at school is starting to happen, of course the rain may slow things down today.

Have a great weekend.

Chief, heard they had a Chemical facility blow up in Apex? NC.  I think it may be in your neck of the woods.  Hope folks are OK, they are evacuating thousands.

Early morning for me as we have a case.  Good thing is that I should be done early and can get home and back to benchwork.  Hope I don't find too many Honey Dos.

Have a good day.

Bob,

I heard just yesterday that a new vaccine is in the works for allergy sufferers. Testing has gone extremely well with 60% of the people tested reporting a significant decrease in symptoms, and an even larger percentage saying that the one shot has lasted for several years.

HI GIZ,

47 and cool with rain this morning.  To get to 60?

Played GOLF yesterday felt good.  Played well but lost to bro by one shot.  Last two holes chipped in from 20+ feet.  Nice way to end.  Keeps you coming back.

JELECTRIC, I see yesterday the cops down in ETOWN arrested a couple of drug dealers after a shoot out right across the street from BARRYs TRAIN STORE.  Throw those punks in jail and toss the key.

CHIEF,BIG fire in NC, they said its a chemical plant, but conflicting reports has it as the largest GRITS FACTORY in the South. True?

All have a good one and TGIF!!!!

Going to CABELAS tomorrow for new hunting coat they are on sale.

Good morning all,

It is sunny and cool in SE Indiana with temps heading to the low 60s today.  The boys' soccer season ended with a thud last night.  About the only positive aspect to the whole experience was that it did not rain and the sun did come out for a while in the second half.  The score was 5-0 and the contest was not even that close.  I do not understand what went wrong this season.  We had a lot of talent, but it never got synchronized.  There were flashes of brilliance and good play, and only one player of significance will graduate, but something needs to be done to get kids to play together.  The girls start their tourney next Wednesday, and they should have an easy opening game, but who knows what will happen.

Lucas starts school on Monday.  He will be going just half days the rest of this semester, but at least he will be back in the swing of things.

Chief, I am glad you had a good visit at CTT.  They are good people there, and the facilities are nice.

I hope everyone has a good day, and a great weekend.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 44 degrees, going up to only 62 today, BUT SUNNY !!! That is a nice day. The trees are really starting to turn colors.

Today I have a few chores to do. Maybe run a few errands. Tomorrow is the big Show in Berea. I am looking forward to it. I will be there about Noon. Meet John ( csxt30 ) and Buckeye. That should be a fun day. We are having lunch at the Station.

It looks like a lot of guys are up and posted already today. It's Friday and the end of the week. Everything is quiet here. I hope it stays quiet.

Well, I am boarding the Dining Car for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Actually I did.  Didn't flush so you didn't get "rain".  Chilly here this AM.  Chemical fire is on the other end of the county from me.  Will call Frankie and see if he got called out.  Its his 4 days off.  Late start.  Got call at home from one of the ladies that stays with Mom.  All quiting and no notice.  Had to make some calls this AM.  Will get someone else [Lord always provides everytime this happens] and they are usually better than the one before.  Got to run.  God bless.

Jim - you're right!  Cold this morning and guess what, the software let me log on from work today?!  My wife got a half day off from her boss due to the 3 day weekend - happy Columbus Day!  She's going to the scout store to get some stuff for my son.  Chief, did you fly over St Louis yesterday?  I thought I saw the sun brighten up for a few seconds there....  thought it might be refraction from the cloud seeding with Grits!

Laz,

They have caught three young guys.  What were they thinking?

That First block was closed off to traffic from the time of the shooting, sometime around 1:00 AM, and mid-afternoon.  Used to be a nice quiet little town. Sad [:(]  Angry [:(!]

Baby sitting again this morning, went pretty good compared to yesterday afternoon.  Spent most of the time building with Legos, with some help, of course.

Have to get back to work on the doll house project.  All the wiring is now in and need to finish painting the ceilings.  Then to start wallpapering.

Dennis, Another set would be nice, but I have a Lionel Lackawanna Trainmaster ordered from the LHS which should come in any day.  Also I have to feed this Atlas freight car habit that I have.  They now have a few more out that I need. Evil [}:)]

Hope you Ohio guys have a fun day at the show tomorrow.  I need to start my York list soon.

SoapBox [soapbox]

I may have to give up trains soon, Dr. has changed a lot of my prescriptions, I added up the cost for a year of the 6 that I take and it is a little over 5K.  Disapprove [V]  That would buy some nice trains!

I'm even more ready to hit the road to the train show tomorrow & catch up with Chuck & Buckeye & Spankybird & the gang !! I think Keith, ( Topedo1688 ) is coming too !! I should have the rest of the track I need tomorrow, to finish another loop !

Hope everyone has a nice weekend & everyone traveling has a safe trip !!

Thanks, John

Wow, a long meeting when faculty are present. Now to catch up on real work. Chief left good weather in his wake - that flaky stuff must be air-dropped grits.  Homecoming weekend for the daughter - having billions of young people over tomorrow night to eat prior to their dance - thank goodness they can't drive yet. Think I'll paint the porch to be welcoming. Or maybe I'll run that by the bride first ...

This is second attempt to post this, man this forum's software can be a pain.

Jefelectric,

I also have this engine on order, ordered it back in January 2006.  Unfortunately, Lionel shipping schedule still shows this engine shipping Sept 2006.  A hobby shop owner posts what Lionel is shipping and I have not read where this engine has shipped.  May be waiting a while longer.Sad [:(]

Ordered a couple Atlas cars today too.  PRR X-29's with the shadow keystone.  One of each door type.

John,     Have you checked into the mail order pharmacies that are sponsored by the insurance companies?  Usually, they will send a 3 month supply for one deductible.  Also, talk to your doctors as many times they have samples and this will help defray the cost.  Another thing is to use Generic drugs when you can.  Sometimes they are not as good, but most times they are.  Lastly, you can talk to your doctor as many times, they have a drug that is just as good, yet has been out longer and is cheaper.

I got a notice from the Train Station, that a shipment will arrive next week.  It could be my new engines, in which case, I have to wait till Christmas to open.   Or, it could be over $2500.00 in Fastrack and I can start laying track.  I have to have my bride open the box before I can see it.

I also received a package from a friend in Iraq today.  Lots of stickers, Iraqi money, and some items for the kids.  It is great to have so many fine people in our armed services.  Please keep them all in your prayers and the families as well.

We have a homecoming at a church I used to attend in Harris Co. Georgia.  It should be  a nice service as the church has a number of fine folks.  My ex-girlfriend used to go there as well, so it might be a little awkward., but God has blessed me and I am happy the way things have worked out.

Looking forward to Sunday Photo Fun.

John (jefelectric) - $5K is a lot of money....  Are you a veteran?  I know my uncle ran into this problem and he now gets his meds from the VA at 3 months a shot.  Not sure what the rules are at the VA Med Centers, but you could call them up.  If you're not a vet, I know that my Father-in-Law got some prescription card in the last year that pays for a lot of his meds.  I could ask about it - I think it was a big deal in the news at the time.

Jim,  Yes I am, I guess I should check this out.  It is only in the last couple of months that it has really gotten bad.  My cardioligist seems to think he has to prescribe the latest and greatest, which also happens to be the most expensive.  Thanks for reminding me about this option.

Best be careful opening the wrapper on your future arrivals of your CTT's, don't know what mite be inside.  Shock [:O]

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is early. People actually get up at this hour. Foggy and 40. Going up to a sunny 70 today. Getting the car packed. Wife still asleep. Gosh, no wonder it's so quiet around here. Went to let the " Boys " out and they just growled at me. Oh, well.

Today is the Train Show in Berea. Should arrive there about noon. I am really looking forward to seeing all of the guys from OTTS. This has been a long time coming for me. Very long. But the road to recovery has been a good one. Could not have done it well, without the help of my good friends on this Forum. You guys are the best.

OK, I'm trying to find the Dining Car for breakfast. See ya later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Morning everyone.  For those in Yankeeland, you Should be worried, VERY WORRIED.

This morning on RFD I am watching Trains and Locomotives with the Narrow Gauge trains of the Rio Grande, a couple of Galloping Goose(s), and some nice yard footage.  The great scenery of the Rockies.

Hope y'all have a good day.  I am home with the kids as this is one of the days my bride works.  She works about 2-3 days a month which is great, but it means I can't do benchwork todayDisapprove [V] It also gives me a chance to deal with the crumbsnatchers for the day.  I think motherhood is the hardest work, I would take a day of surgery over the dealings most days, but being with the kids is so rewarding.

Take care,

HI GIZ,

48 and cool again this morning.  Had a great outside fire last nite with the wife.  Cooked up dogs and burgers, emm,em good time.  Perfect nite to sit by the outside fireplace and eat and have a few cold ones with my wife.

Ran trains for about two hours.  All running good except where I have a switch.  Engine will uncouple there at the switch, had a few bang ups.  Anyone have a solution for this?  Is it just dirt?

OTTS BOYZ, have a great time at the meet today.  Looks like YUZ GIZ have a great place to eat lunch.  Get some pics?

Off to CABELAs to get new hunting coat.

Later.

Really cool here, 50 degrees and very windy.  Good day to be in the basement.

Mitch,

Atlas just announced new Trainman hoppers in WM.

Bob Thatcher has them listed for 30.95, a pretty good deal as they list for 39.95.
