Forgot to mention in my last post that my october CTT came in the mail yesterday and my York badge came in the mail today.  A couple of nice layout articles in CTT this month.

John (csxt30), Glad to hear that you can keep up with the younger guys.  Often experence can more than make up for the stamina of youth.

Chief, I have not been able to win anything in a long time on Ebay.  I usually put in what it is worth to me at the time I place my bid and then don't even look at it until it ends.   I used to win a fair amount that way, but lately nothing.  Except when I am selling it seems that the stuff goes for more than it it worth.

Mitch & Laz, and any other educators I may have missed, Good luck with the start of the school year next week.

Colin, Does the new cell phone have all the new features?  Small?

Scratch, There are a lot of the Jim Beam decanters out there.  I think there were 4 different trains, plus a ton of other stuff.  A lot on ebay, I saw an engine not long ago at $150.00, not sure if it ended at that as it had some time to go when I saw it.  Check out this site.

http://www.jimbeamclub.com/pictorials/jimbeam/wheels/index.html

NStrackman, Glad you found the time to check in, are you going to Bristol or watching on TV?  Do you have a winner picked?

Thanks guys for the congratulations, but I had nothing to do with the outcome, his mother is the one who guides the boys in their animal ventures.

All have a nice weekend.

Dennis, he's at Athens Regional.  Both he and the xDIL work there, he as a master plumber with the maint. dept. and she's an ICU nurse.  Being with the ICU she's been there almost round the clock acting like a private nurse.  I don't know what her assignment will be since she normally works Sat. & Sun..

The wife and I aren't used to having to help three kids with homework every evening nor referring the seemingly endless disputes.  Its much better when we only have them weekends and the send them home.  I'm getting tired and its only been since Monday, Pop-Pop's getting too old for this.Sleepy [|)]

Hi everyone. I'm kind of new here in the coffee shop. I do a lot of reading, not much posting. I bought my first Williams locomotive today, GP-38 ( Norfolk Southern ) and it runs great. I'm a little disappointed with the head lights not being very bright, but over all I'm pleased with it. Anybody else here run Williams loco's ?

Hey STAN,

CONGA on getting on the coffee pot.   And also Sign - Welcome [#welcome]Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to it.  Lots of good GIZ here.   Have fun!

Yes I have a Williams GP-38 the same one you do and also bought two SD90s from DA CHIEF, about two years ago.  They all run great and can be lashed together to pull some reallly big consists.  Il'll run all three on the same track pulling about 25 coal cars looks awesome.

Good luck with them.

Welcome Stan!  Hi Gil!  Congrats John!  Cool phone, Colin - great deal.  Cool pics scratchbrules!  Howdy (in no particular order) Chuck, Roy, Laz, Doug, John, Other John, Chief, Doug M, Mike, Buckeye, Keith, Roger and everybody else!  Man, working in the office is really a drag since I can't log in here during breaks anymore and have to just catch up every night (if I'm lucky!)...  I forgot a bunch, but that's cause I'm getting premature oldtimers.

Praying for the all and the rest to be healed and blessed.

Got my webpage updated, click on the link to see the stuff I've picked up in the past month or so for my coming Halloween layout.  Need a lot more stuff!

http://webpages.charter.net/jwf123/Halloween2.htm

Sounds like a great Jim Beam train, but I doubt it would keep it's value around my and my friends!Shock [:O]

Laz, The hog weighed 262 pounds.  That is pretty large by today's standards when they want them to be lean, you know, the other white meat!

Stan, I have a few Williams engines.  I put TMCC & a super brite headlight in my Reading FA-1 using parts from TAS.  That headlight shines across the room when the room lights are out.  They are great runners and very reliable.

John, here is the link to a great auction site.  http://www.choochooauctions.com/cgi-bin/ua/main.pl

NOW!!!  A MUST SEE MOVIE!!!  No advertisemnts and nothing heard about it.  Actors, you will recognize all of them.  Starts off kind of slow and not much to it and then suddenly it gets funny and funnier until at the end the whole theater was laughing so hard everyone had tears in their eyes.  Funniest movie I've seen in years.  Can't take the little ones as there are some F'y words and etc.  No nude scenes.  Just some bad language.

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE  May not be in the big theaters.  We went to an artsie one to see it.  Later

Jefelectric the phone has a camera, voice recorder, video recorder, wireless internet access, text messaging, AOL IM, speaker phone, and is only about an inch thin. I love that it has voice activated dialing. I just press a button, say someone's name, and it calls the person automatically. Here is a pic of the exact one I have.

I love this phone.

Good night everyone,

Buckeye....I hope your video came out good. Best of luck.

John ( csxt30 )....You are suppose to be resting this wekend.

Well, off to the Dining Car. The waitress is here. Later.

Y'all have a great day.

Good morning everyone,

We had some much needed rain last night, but there was something we didn't need, HAIL. The hail started before the rain came, which was when we had a bad lightning storm. The little bit of thunder that was here was very loud. I already went to check on the cars, and thankfully there were no dents or anything like that on them.

Talk to you guys later,

Colin

HI GIZ,

Gray and gloomy here today.  Got about 15 minutes of rain last nite, along with a little thunder and lightning.

JELECTRIC,  that is pretty lean for a hog at 262lbs.

JIM F.,  I'm glad they the school haven't blocked me out yet of the forum.  Makes the day go a little faster just reading the stuff on here.  They blocked us out of Ebay so now I can't look at the trains there.  I still can go to Lionel and MTH to check out the catalogs.

  All have a good one.

Morning.  Pretty day.  Got to pick tomatoes and make my usual tip to Miss Edna's.  Slept late.  Wife off to some shower.  John, those Grand kids must be Rebs.  They know how to raise top animals.  Makes me feel good to see kids doing that type of thing.  Ran trains yesterday.  Jim A got me into the mood to run PW.  Had my Hudson and all the old cars stringing around the track.  I really like running them with the CAB1 and the TPC.  Colin, glad no damage from hail.  Bad stuff.  Got to get moving.  Have a good one.

Colon : nice phone !! I like the speaker function the best !

Well, not all that much to do here today !! Been playing with my camera, doing some experiments with the movie part of it, but I wonder if it isn't better to just get a regular digital movie camera. Oh well, I like tinkering with it anyway !!

Hope everyone has a nice day, oh & Sign - Welcome [#welcome] Stan (BMRR) to the Pot !! That NS engine would look good lashed up between 2 CSX engines !! Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]  ( The Chief will like that  !! )

Good morning,

Colin, Nice phone, sounds like a good deal.  I think I will check it out.  I am using an antique, over 5 years old.

Chuck, My lawn is just the opposite of yours, all brown with a few green spots & those are weeds. Big Smile [:D]

Taking a break from working on the doll house project.  Very tedius at this point as it requires a lot of painting and sanding of small parts before assembling, it is easier that way.

Read in another post, not sure which forum, that using the small clear christmas light strings is a good way to light the underside of the layout as working lights.  Think I will try that as I seem to spend a lot of time repositioning my work light or else working in the dark.

Chief, Thanks for the auction link.  To me it seems that ebay has been taken over by big operators and crooks.  It has really become buyer beware more than ever.  A good movie is a rare find these days, thanks for sharing.

Laz, Yes they look for a different kind of animal today.  When I was a kid my Dad used to raise a few hogs each year and he would fatten them to 400-500 lbs.  Of course you would get a can of lard out of each one, which no one wants now days.\

I recieved an email from Bob Thatcher of AM Hobbies.  He is having a sale of special run Atlas items.  Not a blow out but 8 to 10 dollars off the regular price.  If anyone is interested send me an email with your email address, if I don't already have it, and I will forward a copy to you.

Just 9 pages to go till 1000! Smile [:)]

Enjoy what is left of the weekend.

Morning all,

Hope y'all having a good weekend.  Looks like another hot and sunny day today.  My 4yo son has two birthday parties to go to today, so I will be playing taxi today.  Did a bit of mowing in the back few acres, left the front alone, it isn't too bad and besides, the sprinkler system is on out front.  I don't think it has been this green since we moved in.  It looks good but when that happens, it means more mowing.

John, we had a Hog down these parts better than 900 lbs.  They called it "Hogzilla" and National Geographic did a show on it.  Real big and real ugly.  It was a wild hog, so I certainly wouldn't want to bring it to any show.

Not much train activity today, but I do hope to get back to clearing the room for the benchwork tonight.  Watched a little Trains and Locomotives on RFD this morning.  Always  a good time to take in some steam.

Good afternoon all,

It is cloudy and humid in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s.  BMRR, welcome to the coffeepot.  Tmcc man, glad you like your phone.  I took my daughter and grandson to watch my cousin's daughter play soccer this morning.  Her team won.  I saw my mom this morning and she is very tired.  She was raised up a little, but she has trouble breathing.  Lucas is doing better today.  As always, thank you for the support.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training....in the free world  (with apologies to Neil....Young, that is),

Well, had a pretty productive day today !! I put up a new door in the bathroom for my wife !! It took some time away from my trains but I rushed through it !! Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D] Well, then the real production was I glued the old tires back on my MPC Budd car engine ! I cut a tiny bit off the old stretched out tires & used an old contact type cement I had & by golly, they are working so far !! I just never got around to order new tires & I thought I could fix it this way, I'm really surprised !! I still better pick up some new ones at a train show this winter, if I can though. I noticed it is kind of fun running the older stuff  now & then !!

Oh, then I was having trouble with my program for my camera & uninstalled it & then they gave me a new one & I don't like it ! I still can not make a video with my camera & put it on Photobucket like before & be able to put it on the forum. I could before but not now !

Thanks, John

csxt30--

You might want to consider a video camera if you think you might want to work more with that platform. Excellent video cameras can now be purchased for around the $300 mark, great for hobbyists as yourself. Plus you can do so much more than your digital camera now allows and if you want to start making movies it's the best way to go.

Hi GIZ,

CHUCK, send some of that rain here we really need it.  As JELECTRIC said our grass is brown with a few green strips of weeds.  On the other hand the tomatoes are really good.  Maybe because I have been watering them 3 times a week.  Had a great tomatoe sandwitch yesterday the slice actually spilled over the outside of the bread.

Not much happening here today.  Last day of vacation and then I got the kidos tomorrow.  I get up at 5 and take the dog for a 20 minute walk then do a mini workout of a one mile run then a little weight lifting about 5 minutes the top it off with 50 situps.

Have a good one.

Morning all.  Being lazy [skipped Church and SS].  Wife asked if I felt bad.  I said, "No."  Then she looked at me funny.  Reminds me of my Mother when I was younger [thought you could not skip SS and Church]. Wink [;)]  Sweet roll and coffee.  Ran all of my conventional steam engines yesterday afternoon.  Pulled my old original 1952 consist plus the two extra LV hoppers [filled with coal].  Funny, the engine from the Polar Express had a harder time getting going [and it has weight in it] than the cheap Pensy Flyer engine I picked up.  Funny, the Pensy Flyer suddenly started smoking up a storm ["like a freight train"Wink [;)]] and the whistle started blowing and got real easy to get going.  Guess everything needed to get broken in.  I did put a drop of synthetic oil on the top and bottom of the shaft on the whistle.  That makes them spin easier.  Rain????  May be we will get some.  Need it bad.  Have a good one.  Later.
