Good evening all,

It was a beautiful day here today. The wife and I are both tired as we worked outside all day. I put in a new pond filter which should do a better job with less maintenance.

Jim, It sounds like your siding guys left you with quite a few loose ends.

Roy, Glad mine our all grown. I agree with you on the discipline issue, guess that is politically correct discipline.

Jon, Don't forget to share one of those pictures that you took of the granddaughter with us.

Model Train Lover, Welcome to the coffee pot. [#welcome]That's a long handle, how about a first name.

Have a couple of pics to post tomorrow on Sunday photo fun.

Have a good night.

Just a quick stop by tonight. Had some other couples who are in the process of adopting from China over today. Nice time. Everyone is asleep and I am heading there myself. Wife is working her one day/month tomorrow, so I will have a busy time getting the kids ready and off to Church. Hope to stop by and take in some Sunday photo fun. Till then,

Good morning from Gettysburg.

The ballgame last night was fun. Saw lots of kids from school. Great fireworks after the game. Unfortunately the home team lost 8-7. They had scored three runs, had the bases loaded , 2 outs, and could not score to tie it up. Very entertaining.

We are not going to Morgantown today. We will now go on Friday instead when my wife can go along. Have to get someone to let the dog out, unless we leave her at my Mom & Dad's for the week. Will talk to the Mrs. later before she heads to the airport to come home.

Resisted buying any trains yesterday. I saw I saw a Williams NW2 and Williams FA AB set that were decorated Western Marland colors that were tempting. I was also looking at the Western Hobbycraft trolleys on-line that were discussed on another post. They sure look great for the $$$.

Have a great day.

You are good folks. God bless you.

Got trains at home per wife. Box came Friday. Got emails that more are on the way. Better start building as no where to run them. Too many engines [one guy says you can never have too many engines]. Buddy wants me to go to Kerr Lake this week. Really want to stay home and work on train room. Mixed feelings as want to fi***oo. We'll see. Off to the store. God bless.

It has been a long time since I last made a post on this site. I have a nice layout in my office at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe. Thursday a Social Worker friend called me and let me know about a yard sale Friday. On my way home I stopped. As a result I bought a box of about 15 very good cars from K-Line boxcar, MPC Lionel and early MTH, to a piece with no manufacturing markings an L&N flat car with two '55 Ford pick-up trucks mounted, excellent no box. What a day!

Chuck - enjoy every day, man!

Hi David - I work at VARO 331 in the Resource Center. I actually work at home 4 days per week with one day in the office. Sounds like you got some great deals at that sale! My team just won the Federal Executive Board award for taking on 50 percent of the work from the New Orleans RO that was flooded out.

Well, I'm torn -- I really want the Cascade logging train but I also want to complete my transylvania set with the docksider and work caboose pieces that are coming out this month. Plus, I really really want to get that MTH V&T set before they are all gone. I looked on the locator on the MTH website and no local stores have them and they are not listed at Charles RO, Island or Grzyboski's, which are the online stores I've used.... Plus, of course, the kids and I need some more pieces for our Harry Potter lego train layout.... Maybe I'll win the lottery!

Char and the kids are going to a baby shower today and me and my buddies John and Dave are going to get pizza and watch some inappropriate dvds - maybe something like South Park or some gory horror movies. John's daughter is still in the hospital - she was about 3 months premature, but she is doing great and they think she might be able to come home in just a few more weeks. Finally having a baby shower for her. Thanks for all those prayers guys!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Just ordered a few items from last years Lionel Christmas catalog, there are a couple from the newest catalog that are on my wish list but I'll wait til the stuff ships before I order. Never to early to start Christmas planning. [:D]

Good afternoon from central North Carolina. Rainy and 54 F degrees. But we had beautiful and warm weather yesterday, just perfect for my company's family picnic.

After hearing all the praise for the K-Line Plymouth switchers, I got one on Friday. I've spent WAY too much money on trains lately, the wife is going to kill me. I'll figure out how to pay for them later. :)

Haven't been posting much lately, but I am still alive. Decided to put the house on the market. Time to downsize. Looking for some property where I can have a daylight basement with a view also. Realtors should start showing the place in a few days. The only thing I dread is dismantling the layout that is about 80 percent finished.
Oh well I can look forward to building a new one, even bigger. Will check in when time allows.....Tim

Another quiet day on the pot.

Chuck, keep improving and enjoy the nice weather.

Colin, Nice chocolate car.

JeffPo, Was that a PRR set? Or is just the engine new. We wont tell the wife[:D]. I have a CNJ. They run real nice, hope to convert to TMCC.

Marty, Kodi seems to get in a lot of your pictures.

David, It is nice to make a find like that once in a while.

All have a nice Sunday.

Been a good day so far. Went to church and sunday school, then to the hospital to have lunch with the bride. Came home to get a phone call from the Chief. Always good to talk to such people. Poor guy is suffering down there. I hope he gets home to enjoy those new train purchases soon.

On the weather front (pun intended), we had a good deal of rain while in church. Came home to some wet dogs, but the lawn looks good.

Well, have a great day, I am off to check out what y'all posted on the sunday photo fun.

jefelectric,
Yes, it was a PRR set. All I wanted was a locomotive, but came across the set first.

It's a neat little engine.

dougdagrump, You mentioned the V&T Railking set. Davis trains has it listed as in stock for $304, not a bad price if you are looking for one.

Doug -- that is an amazing lego project!!! That cat really puts it in perspective. Knowing that the minifigs (people) are about 2 inches tall (at a guess), that thing is huge!

JeffPo - cool train!

jefellectric - thanks for the info on the V&T, man!

We got together today, got some pizzas from Cecil Whitakers, and Dave had rented Aeon Flux. Charlize is pretty hot, guys! The movie was really weird, but it did all tie together at the end. They stole a lot of the plot from a set of books I read back in the 70's though - I think one was titled Drinking Saffire Wine and the other was Touching the Sun, or something - scifi. I wouldn't buy the dvd, but it was interesting to watch.

My string of bad luck is still unbroken. The guys left and I noticed it was kind of warmish in the house. The air was running though. Checked over about an hour and the temp warmed up about 2 degrees and the AC was running the whole time. I shut it off, checked the breakers and looked at the unit - I don't see any oil leaking or anything. The exchange pipe was not cold, but it was running. I think that only the fan is running and not the compressor. Anyway, I put in a call for tomorrow to Scott - Lee HVAC company. I could have asked for them to come tonight, but I don't want to pay extra and anyway Dave is the guy on call (he works for them) and I thought it might be weird to have your friend show up to work on your stuff.

Have to wait and see how much this sets us back before I bring up any train purchases with Char.

Getting late - you all take it easy and I'll talk to you tomorrow probably.

Good morning all,

It is sunny and cool in SE Indiana with temps heading to the low 70s today. It is May in Indiana with the track opened for practice for the greatest race in the world, the Indy 500! I have been going to the race since 1962 and I look forward to it every year. I did a lot of outside work Friday night and Sunday. I did not get any train running in this weekend, and this week looks very busy. I did get the Lionel Christmas catalog thru the Lionel Railroader Club. Just for kicks and giggles, I added up all the O-gauge non-Polar rolling stock and motive power and the total was almost $1750 suggested list. That is a lot of equipment. Welcome to the "coffee pot", Modeltrainlover. I hope you enjoy it around here. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
Good Morning from Blueberryhill
It is 45 and sunny, going up to 70 and sunny today.
That's a nice day. Weather wise. Trees are getting into full bloom.
Well, we have to go to the local hospital today and get an x-ray of my side to take it with
me Friday, to my surgeon to look at during my follow up check-up. Things should look
pretty good. My breathing is really good compared to before.
Sounds like everyone is excited about summer coming, but doesn't want to shut down
trains. I like to schedule myself some time each day to do something with trains, even though
it's summer. Like between 2 and 4 pm in the afternoon. That's when it's the hottest out
and the air is running. Just a thought, ........ I thought I'd share
Well, I will go for now.
Y'all have a great day.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

where the temp is 60 and going up to 72 with Blue Clear Skies

This weekend we did the final roto-tiling of the garden and yesterday we planted it.

We have been very busy at the museum finishing up the custom layout for the birthday boy. Only one week left and its coming along fine.

Chuck – good to hear that your health is back.

Chief called to see if I could still hear. I step outside so he could hear real trains as they passed by.

Pick of the Day

All be safe

Good morning from a sunny Chicago - can't believe I missed posting yesterday. It's been a while since I missed a day.. Let's see if I can catch up.
John O - yep, I've been listening to that old time radio show of Chuck's for years. Since I don't get that station so well on a radio, I listen to it streaming over the 'net using a laptop. I have about 60 cassettes I taped off the air in the early 90s covering WW2.
JeffPo - I saw that same PRR Plymouth set in Hobby Lobby on Saturday. They had a few K-line items left. It sure looked good.
doug - that Lego church sure is impressive. I'm more 'old school' when it comes to these blocks: I prefer to get the basic blocks and see what can be built using the imagination after having too many kits that only build one thing get put together once...
JimF - May your string of luck improve today so you can begin musing what trains to buy next.
Dennis - do I understand you are adopting from China or know someone who is? It sure is quite the experience. All three of our children were adopted but from Latin and South America.
The Chicago Tribune magazine had a great shot of David Plowden's photographs in this past Sunday's issue. The cover was the face of CP steamer 5145 - I cut it out to hang on my bulletin board a twork. See his work here: http://davidplowden.com/photographs/thumb.php?album=Railroads

Busy, busy, busy! It is hectic around Roger's Corners. Wife had minor surgery last Monday so I'm doing more due to her medical restrictions. Kitchen remodeling project is to be completed this week. Lawn and garden is taking considerable attention and did someone say I was supposed to go to work, too?

I hope everyone up North is enjoying this great weather. Wow! [:)]

Morning all!

Busy here. Got lawn mowed late yesterday when forecast changed to rain. For once the WM was right and we had a nice long rainstorm this morning. More rain forecast for the rest of this week!

Chuck - Glad to see that you are continuing to improve! When you get to the trains you will get better even faster!

Nice to see and a big welcome to our new posters on the forum and 'pot!

Have a great day all!
