Doug-CNW..., Actually, we already did adopt from China, now the wife is wanting to go back for more. We are active with a group of folks from Georgia who are all in process to adopt. We had them over to kinda tell them how it is and what to expect. While everyone has a different experience, some things are a given. One trip you certainly have to be prepared to do if you go. Since we are back with our daughter, she has really developed quite a personallity and adds a lot to our family. Last night, I put her to bed and she insisted on taking her Thomas train to bed[:D]

Anyway, have a great day everyone.

Good Afternoon,

Cool and damp here, just a little shower. About to leave for lunch. My High School "Class of '57" has a get together once a month alternating between lunch and dinner. This month I am taking a geranium plant from the greenhouse for everyone. Usually get between 25 & 35 attendees.

Chuck, This year I am leaving my layout uncovered. Have the same idea as you. A good place to retreat during the hot part of the day.

Laz, I got the last Mike with TMCC, but he always has a lot of stuff in stock and some at real good prices.

All have a good day.

HVAC guy is on the way. Wife said if not too high, could order the V&T train (advance on allowance) - keeping the fingers crossed big time.

John, Thanks for the heads up on the V&T at Davis, I've had their inventory listing hung on the computer desk for several weeks. But after comparing the pictures of the V&T and the new ATS&F, I'm going for the ATS&F. Unfortunately it won't be out til the fall.

I'm baaaaack!

Even though the yankees tried to keep me up north with heavy rain while driving south last night I did manage to make to southern safety in Winchester, VA before holing up for the night. No train activity other than an occasional glimps of a freight in the distance.

One of my former classmates made an observation that those of you that had gone to a parochial grammer school might relate. "Other than family, who have you known longer than your grammer school classmates?"

Out of a class of 35, 22 made it, 4 deceased, and the others are accounted for but were unable to attend.

Now I can get back to my trains, yeaaaaa!

Good Evening..........
Buckeye....... Hope Mrs. Buckeye is doing well. Our prayers to her.
Well, got my x-ray film and had to wait 3 hours for it. Not a great hospital.
Just glad the worst is over. It's been a long year, so far.
Nice evening. Turned cooler. Sunshine all day.

Good Night.

The capacitor on the compressor burned up - luckily that was all, other than a short piece of wiring. Cost $117 for the part and since we just had the AC unit serviced last month they didn't charge us for labor, just for the part.

Doug - I was looking at the ATSF train in the new MTH catalog online - took forever to download. Can't really see the freight cars too well, but other than the livery, it looks like the same set as the V&T, right?

Jim,

Did the capacitor replacement thing last summer. Think I posted the particulars here when it happened.

Found out how old I am yesterday. The young couple that bought the house across the street came over and introduced themselves. Young man extended his hand and said "Hello Sir, I'm Ted." Priceless, according to Karen.

OUCH! Good one - those are the ones that really burn, man. I'm getting over surgery. The old guy across the street has a daughter and son-in-law who run a lawn business, so I hired them to come by the last 2 weeks. Anyway, talking to the owner today since my incision keeps opening up, to get them to come over again this week and next week. She says, don't worry Mr. Fortner, that's a bad hill you have, but my young men can do it in no time for you! In other words, I feel your pain! I'm only 42 man!

Jim, There appears to be very little difference in the rolling stock, but I like the colors that were used on the loco for the ATS&F vs the V&T.

Morning to all. Damp dreary day yesterday, today is to be mostly cloudy with a high of about 68.

Another busy week at work. Hope to get some train time in tonight. Friday I am helping my son move into his new apartment.

Take care.

Good morning all,

It is sunny with temps heading into the 70s in SE Indiana today. I played soccer (not very well) last night for over an hour. The only positive aspect was that I was not as winded as some of the others. Buckeye, I hope your wife recovers quickly. There are not very many Hanoverians and we need to keep all that we have healthy. For some reason (and I am not sure why) I watched the series finale of 7th Heaven. The ending was a little overdone and too tidy, but it was ok. The season ender for "Veronica Mars" is tonight and hopefully it will be better. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning guys! Just catching up on the pot. David, perhaps the hound is fetching your tools instead of rabbits. Anyway, have some more rolling stock arriving today, so it may be interesting when I get home and the bride sees the box. Roger, glad you made it out of hostile territory. Have a good one everybody.

Big box while I was gone [:0], engine yesterday, more rolling stock today and two engines tomorrow or Thursday. [}:)] See, I can intercept those while I'm home. [;)]

Morning from cooool and misty NC. Think it will clear today. Need to mow the grass. Garden is loving this misty weather. May get more rain this week. Full mooon in May means bream will be bedding in NC. Things to do. Have a good one and eat more grits. God bless all.

G'morning Captain! Raining here. Kids are off to a field trip with my wife - I have to work. At least it's not humid in the house with the AC fixed. Got an email from my boss. She met my brother and sister out partying on Cinqo De Mayo at Hacienda. She said he looked just like me. I said no, he's handsomer and smoother than me. She said she guesd he was smoother, if you count hanging a ladies purse off an inappropriate body part as smooth -- LOL! That's my brother!

SWMBO is doing the bills tonight. After seeing the comparison photos, I can't decide which 19th C train to get. Have to think hard. I also want the Cascade Range train and the Transylvania docksider and caboose etc -- decisions decisions.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Nice day here in Chicago, no rain or coolness yet. This is my long day - until 830 pm so I'll only get to see it out the window. Hope it rains so I can go back to painting the last part of the basement. Had fun doodling track plan options on the way in - trying to adapt Tom's design to the track I have. I may be off a day but I think Tomorrow is Chuck's birthday. Let the preparations begin.[:D]

Good morning,

Just got home from having a echocardiogram/stress test. Wont know the results for a few days.

Buckeye, Hope the wife is recovering from the surgery.

Chuck, Keep up the training, it is good therapy. By the way, someone started a rumor that tomorrow is you birthday. Is that correct?

Jim, Why not buy them all? Take a tip from the Chief.

dougdagrump, I'd vote for the V&T, but then beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

All have a good day.

Cloudy here, humid, and high 80's. T-Storms predicted for tonight.

Buckeye - Best wishes for your wife's speedy recovery.

Chuck - B-Day tomorrow - we'll be ready.

John - I have had several of those tests. The fact that you came home means you are in great shape!

Doug - long day for you.

LAZ - Only about 15 days of school left here. I am more ready that my kids for it to end this year!

Jim - nothing better than lots o' AC and grits!

Have a great day all!

Is it just me, or is the forum slowing down? Familiar friends are posting much less frequently, and some rarely if ever. I know that the season has something to do with the slowdown, but I've been noticing for a while now, that many of the formerly frequent posters aren't saying much these days. I've noticed that some of those people lurk here from time to time, but don't post. Does "the full mooon in May mean bream will be bedding in NC" have something to do with all this?
