Laz, Yes that is the engine from Barry's.

Colin, I expected you to tell us who made the model. And also point out that although it is lettered for PRR it is not correct for a PRR engine. Note the lack of a Belpaire firebox. To my knowledge the only Mikados that the PRR had were the L1s and they all had Belpaire fireboxes. But I'm not a rivet counter so I run it anyway.

Marty, Like your signs. May give your technique a try.

All have a good evening.

Colin, Since that last one was so easy, give this one a try.

Either the railroads or the manufacturers designation will get you a gold star!

Jefelectric I indeed knew that it wasn't correct for the PRR, and the engine is made by KLine. As for the second photo, the RR is PRR, and the engines are Baldwins, possibly unique for the PRR

Well, I have a math test tomorrow, so I am gonna watch some more TV and then head off to bed.

Tom - I know what you mean. It is a good feeling that he is a senior. Just seems like yesterday and he was a freshman with all that first year stuff. He has matured and grown so much. He is talking about grad school at GW if he can get in. There is a program in political communication or something that has sparked his interest. Like you, for grad school he is on his own $$$.

Work has been bizarre, yesterday we had an 8 year old that ducked out of his classroom and did not go home on the bus. Parents were frantic. The child ran and hid in the woods, took a couple of hours to find him. State police and helicopters were in the air beginning the aerial search when the child was found. The child really put himself in danger. Thanks goodness the parent was very supportive, even thanked me for suspending from school for two days. Parent wanted us to be sure that we sent a messsage to the other kids that what the child did was dangerous and there were serious consequences. Not often a parent thanks you for suspending their child.

Today had to carry a first grader out of class twice, yelling screaming crying, having a two year old like temper tantrum. Child got suspended after the last time when he took his shoes off and tossed them at me because he wanted to get my attention. I was doing a little planned ignoring while he was rolling on the floor crying. He gets a day off for his bad behavior. More to give us a rest and send a message to his parents than as punishment.

Ran trains for a few minutes after my son and I got home from dinner, We both like sushi and there's a pretty good new sushi place nearby in Hanover PA. The Mrs. can't stand to watch us eat it so we only get it when she is not around.

Have a good night. Might watch some TV or run some more trains.

No trains today - worked in the office. Had a buddy at work help me load up my boxes of cases to bring home. A little sore and tired out. Took some meds and relaxing here watching inappropriate South Park shows while my wife has the kids at the gymnasium.

FYI - you guys who never saw it before need to rent or buy the new Lucy and Desi DVD of The Long Long Trailer. What a great movie! I love the part where he wakes up and Lucy is driving, weaving in and out of traffic, driving on the wrong side of the solid line, and then gets mad because he's freaking out! It's available in a set of 3 movies or as a single dvd, although Walmart only has the 3 disc set. It's only $19.95 though. This would be a good movie for Colin to watch sometime!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Hmmmm, Sushi, isn't that bait that didn't make it to the hook ? [:o)] Everybody in my family loves it, except me. They all have a favorite restaurant to go to, thank goodness they have some extremely good teriyaki dishes as well. On my last trip to Japan the company exec's took me out for dinner one nite and I swear if it swam or crawled in the ocean it was on that platter, all raw. Fortunately that was LOTS of saki that helped get some of it down. [xx(]

Mitch, actually everyone, you need to hear this,
About 2 hours ago, we had a Honda Civic Si Coupe fly through here at about 70mph. The spped limit here is 25. My dad saw it fly through when it was coming down the main road. He went to grab his keys to go after them. Then they came back at the intersection at the front of my house, completley ignoring the stop sign. So my dad goes and stands in the middle of the street, yelling at the top of his lungs "STOP, STOP, STOP." They swerved out of his way. Well, that was a mistake that they shouldn't have made. My neighbor, who is ex Special Forces comes running out after them with my dad. So the giys stopped, and it got ugly, but it was word exchange. SO we called the cops after they sped off again, and filed a report. The cop just came back, and we now know who the guys is. He is going to have to go to court.

Mitch - When I was a building principal I had days like that also. I was always amazed at what little kids were capable of. Unfortunately, i didn't have parents that were cooperative.

Jim F - You need to come to Jamestown. This is the hometown of Lucy. There is the museum and store here too. There are a couple of weekends during the year when there are Lucy celebrations. That movie is usually shown sometime during the weekend. If you are a Lucy then this is the place to be.

Have a good evening all.

Roger B.,
When up in NJ, try to get by the New York Model engineers in Carlstadt, NJ. They have a great O scale layout. I think they have meetings on Wed. night and welcome visitors.

Chief,
I know what you mean about recent purchases, just laid out a few hundred on some rolling stock that will be here next week. No hiding it when the UPS guy brings it to the front door. Oh well, they can only get soooo mad.[B)]

Colin, No gold star since you didn't get the model. The PRR called them BS-24 and Baldwin called them RT624. There were a total of 24 built and the PRR owned 23 of them. For a second chance at a gold star, who owned the 24th one?
Sounds like an interesting evening in your neighborhood.

Mitch, Glad I never got into Education. Would not have the patience for it.

JeffPo, Nice crane and tender. The CNJ is one of the roads that I follow. Have a couple of locos and cabooses as well as some rolling stock.

Marty, How long have you been flying to accumulate that many miles?

All have a good evening.

A beautiful place with fabulous grounds (no silly fun park) no train set though.

Looks like a nice day here in Western PA. Not much going on. Might get some more wood for a wall project on the layout. Other than that just some quite time after everybody leaves for work and school.

Good morning all,

It is sunny and cool in SE Indiana with temps in the 50 heading to the high 60s. I picked up a trash can full of sticks and transplanted a tiny evergreeen start. It is less than 6 inches high and was growing by a maple tree. I think I got most of the roots up and I hope it makes it. Tmcc man, your dad was very brave. It is good he had some backup as well. I wonder if any body else in the neighborhood will appreciate what he did. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
Good Morning from Blueberryhill
It is 54 degrees and partly cloudy, going up to 72 degrees and maybe sunny. No rain is predicted. Everything is green.
Feeling overall better, but still have a lot of pain at night and trouble sleeping, Doctor
did not perscribe a strong enough medicine to keep the pain down at night. Will try again
today to get the right one.
I hope all you other guys, who have not been well, are feeling better. I missed a few when
I was in the hospital.
Think I will run my trains this weekend. It has been a while. Dusty. Lots of work.
But lots of fun.
Well, I will talk to you guys later.
Y'all have a great day.

Good morning from central North Carolina.

Pleasant day so far, with temps around 66 F right now. But there's a chance for thunderstorms later, so the motorcycle stayed in the garage.

NIce pics Marty! Chuck - good to hear you will finally get to go downstairs and run those things - may God continue to bless you richly.

Lawn service mowed the lawn yesterday. They were supposed to clean out the brush under my trees out back. Well, looks like they weedeated about 2 to 3 feet in and then quit. There was a note saying they'll come back to fini***hat job when they can and we only owe them for the mow. I wonder if the price will go up, now they have realized that a lot of that brush is crappy wild roses and stuff. It's fine with me - I'd pay them double and I kept telling the lady that when they got done we'd see what the price would really be, but she kept saying it was no prob and would only cost about 20, uh 25, well maybe 30.... I was figuring it was worth about 100 bucks to me!!! Hope they come back!

Was checking out the new MTH catalog online last night. I'd still like to get that Virginia & Truckee set from last year....

TGIF, a nice day here in Chicago
Mitch, I have days like that - except my students are all adults.
Jim F, the Long Long Trailer is my wife's favorite movie, now I know what to get her for Mother's day! Get that V&T outfit!
It sure is encouraging to hear the success of all your children that are finishing up college.
I went to a sushi restaurant where they assumed you knew what you were doing; I don't understand it; it cost a fortunate for these little tiny uncooked things....
Wow, Marty, I'm impressed with all your traveling. And here I thought I was something having commuted 250,000 miles by train... I like that fish-eye perspective on the GG1. Hope it is nice weather in Massachusett's for Jim A's family wedding.

What a blessing!

Congrats Jon! Make sure she gets some grits to keep her healthy.

Finally got some meaningful rain here last night and this morning. Unfortunately it rained enough there is standing water at my son's school and they had to cancel "Buddy Fun Day" whihc is an outdoor end of year party for the kids. Moved it to the 19th - when it will probably be 100 degrees - ouch!

Chuck - keep getting better - running trains will help!

Marty - great shots! I also have a few million miles spread over Continental, US Air, American, United, etc. Years of traveling to Europe, S. America, and Australia really pile them up. Rarely able to use the miles and no upgrades unless you are super platinum anymore.

Got an interesting ticket for an upcoming trip. A day later there was an article in the Wall Street Journal to explain it. Got a first class seat on a discount coach fare. According to the WSJ - there are so many first class fliers flying for free, that the airlines actually sell some first class tickets at discounted coach to get some real paying customers into first class. This has happened to me twice now in the last 2 years.

Have a great day all!
Roy
