Marty,
One of the best places in the world for Margaritas is on the boardwalk in San Antonio, I think it is something like the Rio. Anyway, have a great time. Also, if you like hunting, goto the Buckhorn Saloon, got a great collection of taxidermy.

Jon,
I wish you well in your "real" retirement. You need to spend time enjoying that great layout you have there.
Laz,
Got a call from my taxidermy guy, my book whitetail is ready, so we are on the way to pick it up. Can't wait to see that 800 pound bear get stuffed.

I've noticed that some of those people lurk here from time to time, but don't post. Does "the full mooon in May mean bream will be bedding in NC" have something to do with all this?

I know I havent been here that long to be really well known, but I usually post when there's something i feel would be useful. Otherwise im usually silent. Not alot interesting going on when your a loner. And though the weather is nice outside, I still find myself indoors all the time, rarely goin out much, if at all except for going to work and going to the store when needed. It's a quiet life here.

Jim, do you remember this from previous years how forum posting slows as the weather warms in these northern climes. It's just temporary - should come back with a bang toward Fall.

Hi everybody,

it was a busy day at work. We have our budget vote in a week from today and that's always something we want to go well. It is also the day the school board members are elected. That will be really important. I'm jealous of all you guys with 15 to 20 days of school left. Here in NY we go to the end of June. I guess it all evens out when we don't go back until after Labor Day.

Buckeye - Please give our best to Mrs B. I hope she is better soon and Kate and I are looking forward to seeing you both up here this summer.

Chuck - [bday][bday][bday] ...a little early!

Good night all.

Greetings All....

Havn't posted in awhile been fightin with the laptop and it is winning. (Tried to use it at a Wi-Fi, location it didn't like it, and doesn't like me either anymore. Got a new PCI card for it, to no avail. Spent 3 hrs with tech support (intn'l of course), saying what?, What? WHAT?? a lot. Seems I need to brush up on my accent and english interpretation skills. They are supposedly send me some ghost email program to fix it in 4 hours, (that was last Friday night) still waiting, I guess do to the time change and international date line(s). I thought their was only one, but who knows?!?

Some of you may remember I have this Looong train room development project going on. (Building a room over the garage). Well we are have now completed the Preliminary Procrastanation, and Agressively pursuing the second level. It only took four weeks to determine that the outside window dressings will match the exsisting ones. So we convinced the city that it would, and was promoted to the second level. This stage should only require 4-6 weeks, and 1 week is completed. Oh, did I mention had to pay the city $795 filing FEE, no permits, just FILING Fee. Required regardless if permits are issued, and if they are will be assessed at that time.
Now I can understand why Chief and Buckeye are involved in local gov'ts, (trying to prevent idiotic things like we have going on). I would get involved but I would probably explode or certainly end up in some prison somewhere.

On to more interesting stuff. Picked up a couple of K-Line Diesels, with TMCC and RS2, very happy with them. My son and I take them to Train Club every week and run em. He's really involved with building a mountain there so its good. In the meantime I'm trying to get all our train inventory up to speed so it will be all ready for the new room WHEN it gets done. We also ordered a couple of BEEPs and going to upgrade one of them for TMCC with sound to use as a switcher on the layout. I've order the Digital Elect upgrade kit for my Lionel IC passenger ABA F3 set., and will get it ready.

Glad to see everyone is doing well,

Regards

Don

Chief - 16th or 17th works for me. Leave for Boy Scout camp on Sun. Hey - kind of like last year!

Chuck - I'll be the first! [bday][bday] Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Chuck!!!!
Hey Chief, know what the most frightening word to find in your email around here are? For me, it is "Congratulations". Anyway, we are heading to the Redneck Riviera, otherwise known as Panama City, Florida for a long weekend with my mother in law and sister in law and her family. Already bought them all Mother's Day gifts and am paying the way for the Villa, so I am OK for a few more arrivals from the bay and the Train Station.....I hope.

Got the new Williams flyer, thinking about the 5 for 125 deal. May have to wait on that one though.

Well, anyway, have a great day folks.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and warm in SE Indiana with temps heading to the 70s again. Happy birthday, Chuck! Jim, you are correct about the forum slowing down, but at least we do not have as many pages to go thru every day. Woo-hoo! I am over 300 posts now. I watched "Veronica Mars" last night. The season ender was fairly satisfying and I hope it gets renewed for next year. My son and I got the yard mowed last night as well. If the weather holds, I will be practicing some soccer tonight, and hopefully do better. I do have a train related question. Does anybody know about some PRR O-27 two bay hoppers Lionel made in 2000? According to Greensberg's, there were four un-cataloged cars (16447-16450) made then. Were they in a set, or were they a separate sale item? Thanks to anybody who can help. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C.

[code]Good Morning from Blueberryhill [/code]It's 55 degrees and sunny today, going to 75 and possible thunderstorms. Maybe we'll get lucky
and get all sunshine.
Yep, today is my birthday. May 10th. I am 64 years old today. Thanks to all of you , for your birthday wishes.
I have a lot to be thankful for. You guys are one of those items. Very much so.
I think I am getting a new engine, but I have to wait and see.
Today I will enjoy the day. Get outside before it rains. Scenery is beautiful.
Run some trains later. Had a good time yesterday. Ran them for almost 2 hours.
Well, Thanks again for the Birthday wishes and I will talk to you later.
Y'all have a great day.

Good morning from central North Carolina. Partly cloudy now and the highs are suppose to be the mid to high seventies. Road the motorcycle to work today. Got the grass mowed yesterday. I'll let it go for another month.....I'm sure my neighbors hate me. :)

Cultural/regional clarification:

Chuck, when I suggested having a few pops, I meant beers, not soda. I know in some regions, soda is called pop. Up here it's called tonic. Have what ever you like as long as you enjoy your day.

[bday] to Chuck.
Roy, I was perusing that Williams flyer - 5 caboose, boxcars, gons or hoppers for $125. It's fun to dream. Cloudy but warm in Chicago. Get to open my GG1 on Saturday - we're celebrating my birthday a day early then. Don't have a place to run it though... I wanted to go to the Illinois Railway Museum but looks like the day'll be too busy. Looks like I'll have to wait until Fathers Day.[:D]

I got that flyer yesterday too, Doug. I told my wife to buy me the State of Maine car for me as a Father's Day gift. There are so many nice freight cars in the Williams line up. I could easily go for 15 or 20. But I've found buying old MPC or PW cars at shows is a heck of a lot cheaper - $5 each. Still, those Williams products are really very nice.

You'll have to set up a loop of track on the floor to run your new GG1. I can't wait to hear what you think of it.

Good Morning All:

I hope everyone is doing well. It has been an extremely hectic several days for me. I finally got my RR track software and have been playing with it. Does anyone else think that this program is not very user friendly? I like all of the features, but it does not seem very intuitive to me. Now that we have two tables, I am trying to come up with a semi-permanent layout. I like reading your comments about what you see in catalogs because everyday when I get home from work, little John likes to tell me how many more engines, cabooses, hopper cars and figures we need to get. I have no idea why, but his favorite is the MTH Railking 4-6-0 Rio Grande. Maybe its the yellow color...

BTW, in this neck of the woods, a couple of "pops" would mean shots of whiskey.

Chuck:

Happy Birthday!

Doug:

Happy early Birthday!

Regards,

John O

Had a nice quick rain shower this morning. Just enough to keep it REALLY HUMID! Feels like Houston.

Another [bday] wish for you Chuck!

[bday] Chuck - hope it's a good one!

I guess I'm one of the ones guilty of posting less frequently. It has been very busy the past few weeks and as we get into warmer weather more of my free time is spent outdoors (yard work!) rather than at the computer.

Finally getting a really good, soaking rain. Started last night and still going - not too hard, but enough to soak things really well. [:)]

Mornin to Most, Afternoon to Some,
Just wanted to say [bday] to Chuck, aka Toots, and many more to come.

Don, My wife's laptop was, you notice I said was, setup for wireless with the router in the family room by my PC. Somehow the settings/config got screwed up and I tried for several days before frustration took over and my wife had to do an intervention on behalf of the laptop. After 40+ years she can read me pretty good. We'll just wait til our son-in-law has a chance to come by and look at it.
Grampa got to babysit last saturday, we had a ball, he's just starting to crawl so we were both on the floor. The bad part was that he is just getting over a cold so guess who got sick as a dog sunday nite and it just does not want to go away.
It's a little later than most of the others but a hearty congratulations to another NEW GRAMPA, Jon. Jon, if your other half is anything like mine your house will soon begin to look like a giant toybox. And always remember this tiny scrap of info, Parental Revenge = Spoil the Heck Out Of Them Then Send Them Home.

Remember the Veterans. Past, present and future.
