Good morning all,

It is rainy and cold in SE Indiana with temps staying in the 40s today. I went to the YMCA since it was too wet and cold to do anything outside last night. I hope everyone has a good day today.

Keep on training,

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

where the temp is 50 and going up to 52 with overcast skies.

See all that Chief had to do is say that he was thinking about working on his train room and the north cooled off. Just think what would happen if he did anything to it.

Cool in Lower Arnold and the mowers are out hitting the common areas in the subdivision already. Worked late last night so only have to kick out 4 more cases to be done for the week - the joys of working at home. WIth my luck, I'll still end up working 9 hours today. I wouldn't work at home except for 2 things and they are almost out of school for the year -- Lucky Ducks! Remember that feeling - oh yeah, some teachers here! But, I bet you guys work all Summer anyway if you're like my local teacher friends and family (sister and sister-in-law are both teachers).

Every time I get on this computer, Microsoft downloads some update or other!

Chuck - pain is the worst man, be sure to keep taking your meds and not let the pain get started - it takes a long time to go away once it gets a hold on you. God bless and keeping healing.

Cold and rainy here in Chicago - a miserable day.
Jim F, we've had a few nests in there over the years - I'll have to live with the consequences as I'm outnumbered in wild-animal-loving - I just convinced my wife to stop feeding the dang feral cats - and inadvertently, every critter for miles - including the biggest darn possum I've ever seen. We need BB to visit. Crossing my fingers the daughter passed her big math test yesterday - she needs to do so to pass the course. Hope you and Chuck continue to feel better.

Well, I’m so glad my daughter Sharon took photos of Ein Gedi (page 844) and the Dead Sea (this page), b/c I lost all my photos from those 2 locations. Here is the southern part of the Dead Sea (it’s actually 2 lakes). We’re hundreds of feet below sea level and the distant shoreline is Jordan. We’re on the Israeli side (Sharon was on the Jordan side when she visited her friends there so she got a bonus trip).

You can see how salty and buoyant the water is. I’m in about 12 feet of water and could go to sleep in the surface if I wanted to.

There are no sharks in the water or water moccasins, as the water is too salty to support life, so I wasn’t worried about getting eaten by sea creatures.

The only plants that grow along the shoreline are ones that are irrigated, like the flower shown here.

Took close-ups of salt. Apparently one of the salt rocks (not shown or seen that day), is Lot’s wife, who was turned into a pillar of salt when she looked back to see the burning city (either Sodom or Gamorrah, can’t recall).

For me that is great the last time there was passinger service in lewiston was in the 1800's or 1900's I'm not sure.

Marty - I'm just south of Arnold Missouri, not PA, sorry!

David - great pics again!

Doug - I'm feeling fine, just my one little incision is taking forever to heal - the others are fine, including the bigger one. Anyway, good excuse to pay somebody to mow my yard and clear out my trees a little at a time. I'm getting spoiled and fat, man! Good luck and sounds like I missed something - is this your birthday this weekend? Sometimes I speed read through the pot and miss some stuff for a while.

Good afternoon all,

Jean and I have been babysitting the two youngest granddaughters all day so I didn't get much else done. A lot of fun, but tiring for an old guy like me. Taking a break while they watch a DVD and NaNa makes supper.

We got about the same amount of rain as Laz, just over 1.5 in the rain gauge.

Chuck, Hope they get the meds figured out for you.

David, Nice pics & I don't agree with Marty at all. Actually I thought it was a Manatee.

All have a pleasant evening.

We got home about an hour ago. Just drinking a cup of coffee and watching
the Indians / Tigers game.
Doctor said " All looks good. See you in 6 months." That's great news

Also, got the right pain relievers, as I am enjoying right now.
Just a brief update.
Good Night. Guys.

Chuck, Glad to here the news. Sounds like you are on the road to full recovery. Looks like you got more info on the GG1 than you bargained for! [;)]

Don, I have an Electric RR TMCC conversion on the bench now for a Lionel Trainmaster. One of the older ones with the Pullmore motors. I didn't order the sounds for it as those motors would probably drown out the sound. Just need to find time to install it.

Have a good night.

Good evening everyone. Cold, wet and rainy here in western MI. Rained all day yesterday and had high winds as well. Cable went out and so did my internet for a few hours. Couple of tree branches fell down and I think one hit the neighbor's car but didnt do much damage. Winds were reported to be about 70mph last night.

Today was not much better, still rainy and wet. One thing I hate about my job is having to partly work outside in the rain. Driving is a big enough job, but having to get out, walk up to the customer's site in the rain and having to open the trailer doors is not my idea of fun. It tends to make the day depressing and longer than it has to be.

Finally got my first bottle of the JT Mega-Steam fluid yesterday, can't wait to try it out to see how well it really smokes.

I also gotten a package from CTT yesterday that included a DVD-ROM called "Dream-Plan-Build" video series. Im not sure if anyone has seen these videos before but since its an intro video, if I like it I can get more by subscribing.

This weekend will be a quiet one for me, I feel worn out and tired. Not sure why, but im sure it will pass. And I definitely wont forget to call my mom for Mother's Day this Sunday. Also plan to finish up some video projects that I have been working on over the course of the week and then start preparing for my flight next weekend. So will be busy within the next few days.

Chuck, glad your health is getting much better, and much prayers to your continued recovery. Tom, great layout setup at the museum, that young boy is going to be quite happy once he gets it. Eventually soon I will make my next trip to Cleveland to visit the museum again and this time I may bring some of my locos to run on the tinplate layout, now that I resolved the battery issues in my PS1 engines.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hello All! Been very busy & tired lately from Work. So took some time from the forum & read it instead of making replies as the home computer can be very slow at times & I decided to do that for a while. Dave - Good pictures as always. Thats a neat trick you did of sleeping on the Dead Sea[;)][:P] Yeah Lot's wife was always a pillar of the community in those days[:)][:P] Back then the Dead Sea may have been a lake of Grits & after the Fire it must have turned into a salt sea to discourage the consumption of Grits by the general population of those times. [:o)][:D][;)] Sorry to hear about your problems with the neighbors who do not like BB. Maybe you can borrow Laz's 800 lb Bear to reason with them.[;)][:P][:)] Chuck- Glad you're getting better. Keep it up. Chris- Hope to see you if you can make it to Cleveland someday. Don- Have fun with your Beeps. I still think you need a 1688 Torpedo for your layout though. Just to make it interesting[;)][:P] Have a nice weekend everybody!

A late night for me but a good day seeing and visiting with good friends at our state conference. Impossible to put a value on friendships and conversations. One of my best friends is also train nut, we were able to spend a good 30 minutes discussing the important things in life--O gauge trains! It's funny how other colleagues tend to leave us alone during those discussions, they just don't get it[:D]

[code]Good Morning from Blueberryhill [/code] It is currently 49 degrees, and cloudy. Suppose
to go up to 63 degrees and chance of rain. It rained on and off, all day yesterday.
I really slept good last night. Took a pain reliever and that was all I remember.
[bday]Happy Birthday...Doug Murphy..... How's the GG1 ????
You are right, John, I am now an authority on GG1's. I enjoyed the information.
I also, bought a GG1 from Williams. It is Tuscan Red, for a change, and is quite
a beauiful engine. Paula got it for me for my birthday. It would look great pulling a few
Madison cars, of the same color. Quality is superb.
Going to run trains today. Then walk, exercise, and hope for sunshine.
NASCAR race tonite from Darlington.
Well, I will go for now. Feeling great. Talk to you guys later.
Y'all have a great day.

Good morning from Gettysburg. Gray and cloudy seems to be the weather for today.

Long day yesterday. 6 hours on the road and about 6 hours cleaning up the apartment, packing, etc. I spent most of the time replacing doors that had gotten holes in them over the two years they were there.Fun, fun fun. Hopefully they will get their security deposit back, If not, it's their own fault.

I must get out and go shopping for Mother's day gifts. Hmmmm... I wonder if my Mom and the Mrs. would like a nice caboose or some freight cars?[;)][;)][;)][;)][;)]

Have a great day.

Good Morning Everyone, It's been a looooong time since I've ben on the pot, the coffee pot that is. Quite a bit has been going on as usual. My Oldest daughter graduated from college last saturday so we spent the day in Columbus. She will be staying in Columbus for the summer then off to Erie PA for three years of pharmacy school. She also got engaged. The youngest is home from college for the summer. Fortunately she has 2 jobs to keep her busy. Turns 21 next weekend so I'm hving a bunch of drunken college girls spending the weekend. As for the trains my semi-scale k-line hudson bit the dust. I need a new driver board. I orderd all the TMCCgoodies for a williams amtrak genesis from DD. Should get them any day now. Well its off to breakfast now.
Tom- the layout you guys are making is looking good.

[bday][bday][bday] Doug. anjd many more.

Getting to be a hot day here. Ran down to the sand quarry for a load this morning for the last part of prepping the pool before installing the liner. Compared to the 7 tons I had had delivered, and used, a while back the 1/2 ton looks like a drop in the bucket. I'm glad the Mrs. unloaded it since I messed up my rotator cuffs with too much shoveling earlier this year. Things start to wear out once you reach 60.

Received an 8"X10" from the photog and a disc of short videos that he uses for referrence yesterday. When (being optimistic) the photos are published in the future I'm sure I'll be quite pleased based on the one he sent me for framing.

LOL, Paul! Thank you all for your good wishes. Haven't been invited to open the GG1 or the REA reefer I got along with it or the big picture book on Zeppelins I bought for myself. Just got back from church - the guys gave me a donut with a candle stuck in it. They forgot matches so used a fire-starter from an emergency kit to light it - almost set off the sprinklers... :)

I finished painting the basement last night. I was able to work quietly while everyone was asleep - because my daughter told me the wrong time to pick her up from the movies. That means I can begin to put the basement back together again on this grey misty day - more Little League games later today too -

Great news, Chuck.
Jim, may you continue to rest and heal. May people come alongside you to help with things that need to get done.

Happy Birthday Doug!

Hope your day is a joyous one. The weather is quite the bummer though. Storm system just parked over the midwest. Spring was really going nice weather wise till this system cranked in. And we have baseball scheduled as well for today. Can't see them playing though. The fields have to be mud and puddles.Good day for the basement and running trains. Stay warm and dry!
