Evening all. Carolina and Sabres. Southerners VS Yanks. OH, all those names on the Carolina team sure don't sound Southern [unless Southern Canada [;)]]

Jeff P is right. Lots of storms around most of the day. Kept computer unplugged and off. Roataions within a few miles all around Roseyville but none here. The first one the wife was upset as she was looking out back and the pecan trees looked like the were splitting in half and the big oak tree in the front [I was watching] was hardly moving. Frankie was at his Mom's just north of Jeff P's and got his truck cab pretty well beaten up. Lots of hail all around. Some places had it on the ground for a while as it was so much. We had none. Some streams were in flood warning and we only got about an half an inch of rain. No lightning to speak of. We were lucky. Wife went to her Mom's and said just a mile north of Roseyville, tree limbs everywhere and the road was flooded.

Good night.

Good morning all,

It is cold and rainy in SE Indiana with temps heading to the 50s. We had a surprise 50th birthday party for the better half Saturday with the family. I thought for sure she knew what was going on, but she was completely surprised. It was a nice gathering for the family. My daughters did most of the work, but I had to keep her out of the house while they did their thing. Mother's Day was quiet, but I did watch the F-1 race. We set up a Foosball set that the one daughter did not want, and my son and I played a few games on that. Hopefully the weather will let me get upstairs sometime to run trains.

Keep on training,

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

where the temp is 52 and going up to 66 with overcast skies and more rain. Who would have guessed! ! !

We had big T-storms yesterday and had to turn off the box for most of the day.

Today is the finishing touches on the layout. Just a few more things left to do and we will be shipping it out tomorrow.

Csxt30 – Hey John, will that new computer in your car have an internet connection. CTT while you drive ! ! ! !
Good Morning from Blueberryhill
It is a nasty 51 degrees and misty rain. Going up
tp 59 with a chance of afternoon thunder storms. That's a bummer. This weather is
starting to become a pain..
John...... I hope you have good luck with your garage work. You need to run some trains
to ease your nerves.
Yesterday, I went down to the train room and started to dust cars off as they were running.
I sure have a lot of work to do. But, I have a lot of time to do it. That Tuscan GG1 really looks
good pulling a long freight. I need some maroon Madison cars now. I think the GG1's
pulled Madison cars...??
Well, I will go for now. Feeling a little better each day. Makes me smile.
Y'all have a great day.

Greetings from a cold and grey Chicago. Tom, what is that engine in today's photo? It looks like a British one. I got a perimeter loop of track down last night - then unwrapped the GG1 - added a tiny drop of oil per its directions - hooked up a train-set transformer and ...nothing. The headlight came on, and it sorta jumped forward then stopped - and the transformer light went out. Aha, I thought must be a short somewhere so I retraced the track and ...nothing. Then I swapped it for my lowest-drawing motor and triumphantly ran the Corgi trolley around the layout - the layout lives again!
I then hooked up just a single track to the transformer, put the GG1 on it and dialed up the throttle and nothing, headlight comes on, jumped forward and the transformer light went out. Next time I powered it up , it seemingly was in neutral, headlight on, no movement, pressed the sound button and got the bell to ring. Any advice about what might be wrong or what I should check next? It sure is beautiful-looking.

Morning all. Planning on working in the train room today. [?] Yanks are in for some bad weather then. [;)] As soon as it dries off, I need to mow the hay [I mean grass].
Jim A has not signed in today. He may be swiming. No joke. Too much rain.
Doug M, if you want to open it up, look for a loose connection or a pinched wire. Sounds like a bad reversing unit. Sorry
Chat later. God bless all.

Doug, Sorry to hear about your GG1 problems. Is it a Williams? If so not a lot to go wrong with them, no switches, etc. It sounds like a mechanical problem such as gears binding or something of that nature.

We have been getting some much needed rain here but so far non of the violent storms. Got 0.2 inches in the last 24 hours which can just soak in. Looks to continue for the next couple of days.

Nothing scheduled here today so I'am going to run some trains and may just start installing the TMCC in a Lionel Trainmaster.

Hi John, yes, it is my first Williams engine. I wonder if I unscrewed the big screw on the bottom of the big truck just to look around tonight, whether I would invalidate the warranty. Probably.

Nothing much today - took the day off. Gonna call the doctor in a few minutes, but actually the wound is healing now - I think that string/suture stuff was keeping it open by hanging out. Also, catching my son as he fell down (about 109 lbs) was probably not very bright in retrospect since I'm on a 30 to 40 pound lifting restriction.

Sorry to hear about your locomotive, Doug - hope they fix it pretty fast for you.

Tom - you sure did a great job on that layout.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Doug, call Williams, ask their advice and if they recommend for you to, then send it back. Will be fixed and back before you know it. They are fast.

Good morning from central North Carolina.
Much nicer weather today than yesterday. Quite a few holes in my house window screens from the hail, and I'm afraid to look at my vehicles.

Speaking of movie monkees, I watched the new King Kong Saturday night. Wow! What a feast for the eyes. The visuals, especially on the island, were amazing. A lot of over-the-top goings on. Dinosaurs, giant bugs and bats, I liked it! Made me feel like a kid watching a creature double feature. Digital movie making is really turning our time into the new golden age of movies.

We are traveling northward to the fortress of Masada, along the Southern area of the Dead Sea.

Took some photos from the moving bus of the Judean Hills, which actually could be called the northern Negev desert. We are below sea level, looking westward in the dry landscape, where nothing grows except some African trees and shrubs in the wadis (gullies).

There are miles of this beautiful and rugged terrain, where David and Moses once roamed.

Will head to Masada next.

There are dozens of more stops will be making. If you’ve not been following this series, here are the Coffee Post pages to find the previous ones (a quicker way to bring them up is to go to the advanced search engine and type in “caesarea” which will bring all or nearly all up quickly):

Evening all!

Survived the canoe trip. My boy and I had a great time.

I even kayaked a couple of hours (ugh - not the easy kind - the pro ones - too hard to keep in a straight line).

Well this is a quick stop - off to Las Vegas early tomorrow for a trade show (I get to LV at 8 am - very early).

Don't get back until very late Friday.

Hope all are doing well! Chief - keep them yankees in check!

Regards,
Roy

Update: The thunderstorms have moved past us, but we will still be getting rain.
Keith thanks for your concern. I see you liked the photos. I kinda wish I would have been facing in the other direction, because I would have captured a lightning bolt when it struck.

Good Evening all,

spankybird, I couldn't resist and picked up a RK 4-6-0 and 3 coaches in PRR.

Here is one of the engine arriving in Bellaire.

And another of one of the coaches.

I spent some time this afternoon, loading some passengers on board. They looked way to empty with those large windows.
I'm having a lot of fun with these and that engine sure does smooooke.

All have a good evening.

Colin- On a hot, humid day in the summer in N.E Ohio here sometimes we will get low black clouds coming in a southeasterly direction from Canada signifyng that a cold front is coming in & these clouds will swirl in a clockwise direction as it is moving over land & sometimes they will spawn a Tornado 15 or 20 miles away. It is a sight to see when they come in off the lake here. Ditto for the waterspouts on the lake.( A Waterspout is a Tornado over a body of water such as a lake. They are not dangerous as long as they do not come ashore) Take Care.
