Morning folks,
Chief, went out this morning after reading your post about mowing everyones lawn, I think you missed mine. Gonna get into some trouble tomorrow, big box arriving with lots of train stuff. I had better hide the frying pans.[B)] Anyway, I hope everyone is ok.
1688, Kieth, sorry I have not gotten back with you sooner. We have been busy with kids things and we are all finally healthy. I stopped coughing up blood, which is a good thing. I am planning on starting the 1689E project soon. Also need to work on the final layout plans and start laying track.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill
It is a 53 degrees out now and just stopped raining.
Suppose to go up to 58 today and a chance of more rain. Lots of thunder last night and
rain. The dogs were scared bad. Slept at the foot of the bed. This weather is terrible.
Today, we are going for a ride to Zanesville. See if we can find a pair of Jeans for me
that are two sizes smaller. I am slowly gaining back the weight I lost. But it's slow.
Buckeye....... Welcome back home. Sounds like you were not fond of Buffalo. How is the
weather in Canada, where you are going fishing ??
Well, Looks like more rain is coming. Clouding up again. Yuck.
Y'all have a great day.

Good morning from central North Carolina!
Sun is shining and it's beautiful day....well, so far. It's already starting on a bad foot since I had to go to work. :)

Beautiful day here - Hmm, maybe I have to finally try to cut the grass - unlike my neighbors who frantically try to get it done between rainstorms, I'm waiting for it to get a bit dry. But it's starting to look like a wheatfield.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

where the temp is 48 and going up to 55 with overcast skies and what else, MORE RAIN

Yesterday we saw this big orange thing in the sky [8D] and 911 operators were flooded with calls of people being followed by short black things on the ground. [:I] I even saw one myself. I was quick enough to make my way into the basement by my trains to be safe.[:D][;)]

Good Morning Everyone:

Finally! A nice day in Chicagoland. I was beginning to feel like Noah. It was just as well as I have been way too busy at work. I am excited because I pretty much finished my layout design using RR-Track. I am looking forward to actually building my first layout. With summer approaching, I may not get much work done, but at least I will be able to start.

Regards,

John O.

Good Morning,

As Laz noted, Mitch has our weather covered. In spite of the cloudy, wet weather we have been having we are still behind in precipitation for the year. So I will not complain about the rain, it is also helping the new grass we sowed this spring.

I installed TMCC in an older Lionel Trainmaster yesterday. Had a few problems but with help from Jon at the Electric RR all are resolved. He is a great guy to do business with. The problem turned out to be one that really wasn't a problem with his equipment. An uncompatability between my Z-4000 and the old horn board in the Trainmaster was the culprit. He suggested two methods of modifying the horn board, the first one I tried worked.

Tom, Nice to see your layout once again, been a while.

Laz, Looks like the Thursday night golf is going to be a washout. Break out the poncho and go fishing.

All have a good one and keep dry,

I like that site, David, it's been around for a while. There's a few others that are a tad mor e detailed - some of them say I should already be dead. ;)
Sprinkling a bit between sun-showers - so forget the lawn. I would like to look into goats or sheep - they eat grass, don't they? Well, off to call Williams about the GG1.

Doug Murphy needs help figuring out how to phase two transformers so the trains won't short out. Can someone out there please help him out?

Nice call with Williams. They suspect it might be the GG1 pilots touching the tracks inadvertently. Thanks also to Jim A for helping me think through why my two new loops crossing one another by a 90 degree track were shorting out when a trolley ran over the crossing. We think the transformers are out of phase. I have to research what that means again since I'm using two older Lionel train-set transformers.

Today we leave the Dead Sea and go from below sea level to way above sea level on the road toward Jerusalem, through the West Bank.

In the distance (1st photo), we see the famous city of Jericho, where Joshua fought in Biblical times. We were not allowed into the city as it now is an autonomous part of the Palestinian state and there was some turmoil going on there at the time. No need to risk a limb!

So we sped by Jericho and advanced up thru the Judean hills, where nomads live in cardboard shacks or burnt out vehicles and tend sheep (last photo, see specks of sheep on distant hill). The hills were stark, barren and rather eerie. The shacks reminded me of Tijuana or the Philippines.

In our next stop, we will meet some bedouins at the highest elevations of the Judean hills, prior to getting to Jerusalem.

There are dozens of more stops will be making. If you’ve not been following this series, here are the Coffee Post pages to find the previous ones (a quicker way to bring them up is to go to the advanced search engine and type in “caesarea” which will bring all or nearly all up quickly):

Doug, plug both transformers in and run a wire from U to U. Move the variable voltage handles to about the same voltage. Then from your A post on one, run a wire over and touch the A post on the other transformer. If it really archs [a tiny spark is OK], reverse one plug in the outlet and try again. Also both need to be plugged into the same outlet on the same breaker. As Bob Nelson says, best to plug them into a outlet strip together.

YOu all take it easy, gotta get some stuff done or I'll get fired (hollow laughter)....

Evening guys,

We head out of here in the morning to go to DC for the daughter's graduation. It looks like decent weather for the weekend. It should take us a little over 6 hours to get there. My daughter has the whole weekend planned out so I guess I will just do as I'm told.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Laz, Guess you are living right. At least here there was no rain after about 1:00.

12 hour work day finally over (less time for driving home this evening). Sure looking forward to this weekend.

Anybody else see the animated Mr. Peanut commercial where he's in an old time station running for a train - pretty cool. What model train are they copying, anybody know?

Just about bed time, this was my last late/long day for a long time. Kind of fun to come home and see what you all have been doing or not doing. The train room will finally get the attention it deserves as it has been ignored for about 3 months and I'm actually looking forward to tweaking things up this weekend.

Good mornin' from Gettysburg. Just checking in before work.

TomS - have a safe trip and enjoy the graduation

LAZ - hard to believe but we only have next week as a full week of school. The following week we have Memorial Day and Play Day(Field Day). The next week we have early dismissals the last two day. Any more the years seem to fly by. Yesterday I heard about a couple more people my age who are retiring. One lady is buying a sailboat and going to sail to the Carribean, another is buying a house boat and going to live in the Delaware area. Me, I'll be lucky to be able to afford a pup tent and a sleeping bag[;)].

Have a really great day.

Tom,

From one OTTS member to another, you and your crew did an outstanding job on that little boy's birthday layout. What an impressive accomplishment in such a short amount of time.

Doug, I hope you got the bugs worked out of your layout, and the GG-1.

Last Friday afternoon, around 3:00, I walked into a post office and sent Williams one of the trucks from my new 2023 for repair or replacement. Yesterday, the UPS guy delivered it back, along with a brand new one and a nice note from Williams. I'm beyond impressed! Now that's how to run a toy train company. In less than a week I had the whole matter resolved. How can you beat that kind of service?

Lots of new scenery on our layout, including a new 8 foot long hand-painted backdrop. Would anyone care to see photos? If so, I'll take some this weekend.

Jim
