Good morning all,

It is cloudy and cool in SE Indiana with temps hitting the low 60s last night. I played soccer again, and I did a little better than last week. I also played some Foosball with my son. My son and wife watched "Prison Break", but I went to bed relatively early. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning all,

Cool and gloomy here today. The whole week looks like it could be a little damp. At least it's not as bad as it is in New England.

Have a great day.

Morning all. Do hope Jim A dries out. Just couldn't stand not teasing some. Grass to mow and then more work upstairs. Ran trains last night until CSI Miami came on [well it was delayed by "Mouth" as he steals the networks]. I think "H" got mad. Have a good one and God bless.

Cloudy but less cooler here in Chicago. I get a lunch today for 15 years here - I actually began 16 years ago but try sharing that with HR. Laid more track last night. Will try Williams a bit later.

Hallelijuh ! Just finished doing my first upgrade to TMCC. Used Digitial Dynamics kit it really went smooth. The instruction were very good, especially when you consider all the potential applications. Installed the kit on a ABA Illinois Central pass set from the 90's. (8580's). This particular train had special significance, since our family is from Illinois, and when my father passed on, I purchased this with the inheritance I received from him.

Now it will be operable and not just a shelf queen.

Next upgrade --- Beep for my son's birthday.

Have a great day, hope the weather is as desired.

Good morning from central North Carolina.
Had a chance to look over the truck and van yesterday. Yep, daggone hail damage. I guess I haven't made enough sacrifices to the weather gods.

On a positive note I was able to try out my "new" train engine. It's a Lionel Erie Hudson from the Riding the Rails Hobo set. I bought the used engine separately from someone that broke up the set. It runs well and smokes nicely.

Great looking engine Jeff. Sorry about the hail damage. Park them in the hot sun. If only small dings, sun will pull some out.

There's a really great thread going in sister Trains forum on the VP of Baldwin touting the benefits of steam over diesel. The speech was given in 1935. To continue to each subsequent page, click "next page" on the bottom of the site in tiny letters.

Good afternoon all,

Weather mostly cloudy here with some sun on occasion. Took my wife's car in to be serviced and inspected and then stopped to vote in the primary. First election with electronic voting in our area. Didn't have much interest in the primary as most candidates are unopposed, but wanted to try out the machines before the big one in the Fall. For all you Football fans out there, Lynn Swan is running as a Republican for PA Governor.

Here is another 19th Century Picture.

Colin, Are you sure those were clouds, they look like a big old mess of billowy grits.

Cable car fans are in for a treat, as we continue up along the Dead Sea coast and travel on a cable car from below sea level to hundreds of feet up and above sea level via cable car. Many walked the trail up but we were on a time schedule crunch so chose to ride.

Masada was Herod's royal citadel and later the last outpost of Zealots during the Jewish revolt against the Romans after the death, resurrection and then ascension of Jesus.

As you can tell, it is very very high up and some tourists were scared to go up in the cable cars.

Shown here is the trip up, views along the way up, the top where the ruins are located, and some views of the Dead Sea from the top and the Judaean Desert, off to the west. Why are the ruins so ruined? A series of earthquakes struck this area many centuries ago. When you look across the Dead Sea from the summit, you actually are looking at the Great Rift Valley, a tear in the Earth's crust that goes from way down in east Africa, way up past Syria; an area of very active earthquakes, with an occasional volcano to shake things up a bit.

It is very very dry in this part of the country so people with allergies would like it here as well as those who enjoy sunny days!

There are dozens of more stops will be making. If you’ve not been following this series, here are the Coffee Post pages to find the previous ones (a quicker way to bring them up is to go to the advanced search engine and type in “caesarea” which will bring all or nearly all up quickly):

Cool pics guys!

Doctor broke open the incision, cleaned it with something, and then put some kind of chemical in it to make it scar over - burned like crazy and for a lot more than a "second or two". Released me back to work again, so back at it tomorrow. Apparently, my body rejected the stitches in that incision, but not in the other two? Any doctors out there - what's up with that?

Got a new lego set for the layout in the mail today that I picked up on ebay - Prof Lupin's Classroom.

Good Grief, watching C-Span which needs to be renamed for this time slot as the McCain-Kennedy LoveFest. I don't believe any of these senators have any grasp on reality with regards to what is going on in the REAL world.

Doug - I heard there is something in the water in DC that lowers intelligence. I spent about 11 weeks there on a project for work once, but I stuck strictly to bottled water [;)].
so I'm still reel smarte.

Had a pretty good lunch today at Chevy's - is that a national restaurant or just around Missouri? Anyway - had the blue cheese bacon cheese burger, which was very good indeed!

Reading over the earlier posts - Chuck, hang in there and keep taking those goof pills; don't let the pain get started if you can help it. God bless.

Colin, I was checking out the Trains forum and found this neat shot of the Rockville Bridge. Check it out.

http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=141429

By the way did you ever find the book that I recomended?

Jim, It sounds like a good thing you checked with the Dr.

David, More great pictures, but I wouldn't want to live there. Makes one wonder what all the fighting is about.

JeffPo, Nice looking engine.

Loading up more passengers at the Bellaire Depot.

1255 bringing up the rear, you can just see the conductor on the rear platform.

well that is the end of the 19th Century pics for a while.

Where's Buckeye?

Here's a hint, but only one person on the forum may recognize this old train station.

I'm a long way from home tonight, but I can hear the horns of the diesels as they approach the city. At work I am starting a feasibility study on how to tunnel beneath a set of railroad tracks using a technique called "jack boxed" construction. This is different than what we did in Berea, which was called top down construction.

Have a good one and we will see you down the tracks. [:D]

Good morning from Gettysburg. Kind of a dark dreary morning. More rain in the forecast.

Chief - enough already. Quit working on the train room, you're going to drown us[;)][}:)].

Glad to see Buckeye's post . It's good to hear JimF and Chuck are on the mend. Like Chuck I am wondering what's up with Jim Duda.

LAZ - Only 15 days for you? I think we have 16 days left with kids, 17 days with teachers. Tough few days with one little one. Spent three plus hours just dealing with that one yesterday. When that happens everything goes to you know where in a handbasket.

TomS - enjoy the graduation in DC. If you read the earlier posts from Jim F, try not to drink the water.

Another late night. Student being recognized at Board Meeting.

Take care.
