I had labs the other day and today they said my blood work was fine. I still walk a little crooked I think.

I have priced the Mike's red C&O caboose I wanted and $47 plus postage is the best I can do.

Man that gave me sticker shock.

My Roundhouse HO shay is junk out of the box and I am looking to find and other steamer in HO.

So Colin got mono? He will know what he will e doing for the next 6 months. To bad fella. I had it at you age and missed a months school. I got it at church camp.

Take care of that so it wont turn into hepatitis in years to come.

Colin - get well soon.

Jim - glad to see that your still taking interest and posting.

jaabat - NC still gets a little cold but nothing compared to up north. You'll be close enough to Chief to help him get started on his layout. From the way things are going I don't think he'll be much further along then than he is now. [swg] (All in jest from a fellow REB)

Chris.
from people i have talked with most of the MTH Rail King locos are very trouble free.
but i run my trains and operate them daily. and sometimes for several hours. i really need to clean my track bad. after you work on the big railroad all day the last thing in the evening you want to do is trackwork. i like running the trains. on my layout i run the DCS system and on the
7x8 i can run as many as 6 trains if i run short ones. so after a few months of 6 train operation
i went to3 trains longer trains. on the out side loop i unpacked the UP Big Boy andhooked up to 12 die cast cars and cab and booted it up checked the battery and seen that it was fine. so after 20 minutes of operation i stopped short of the Xover todo some switching with a Geep N&W.
after a while i seen the big one had went dead and then checked the battery and it was dead as a door nail. got another fresh battery and presto Nothing. so if you are still going to get the BIg Boy do so. I have a espee cab forward DRGW 4-6-6-4 three 2-8-8-2s three 2-6-6-6s two
Tri plexs a class A lionmaster. so i like big steam. so if not been for Mike Wolf i would have not had these in O gauge. but on the other hand he keeps me broke too. i guess i would waste my cash on something else.

Here is a real jewel. the bachmann On30 climax that runs on HO track.
i have a loop of Kato unitrack that runs really great around the FastTrack loop.
i use the MRC DCC system. i have 2 diesels and three steamers that are DCC.
a dozen or so hoppers and 20 or more frieght cars in HO.
i really like the Broadway T-1 C&O.
I also have a N&W Y-3.

Fourty years ago, Chief Eagles, a North Carolina small town boy, was drafted by the Army.

On his first day in basic training, the Army issued him a comb. That afternoon the Army barber sheared off all his hair.

On his second day, the Army issued Chief Eagles a toothbrush. That afternoon the Army dentist yanked seven of his teeth.

On the third day, the Army issued him a jock strap. The Army has been looking for Chief Eagles for 40 years

Buckeye's wife came home, screeching her car into the driveway, and ran into the house. She slammed the door and shouted at the top of her lungs, "Honey, pack your bags. I won the lottery!"

Buckeye said, "Oh my God! What should I pack, beach stuff or mountain stuff?"

"Doesn't matter," she said. "Just get out."

Jim, I am sure you will like Raleigh. Last I was there, about 3 years ago, it still had the laid back atmosphere of a Southern City, although it is one of the fastest growing areas of the country. I hear the Mayor is not a very nice person, but I guess you can live with that. I still have fond memoriies of living in Charlotte, NC as a young lad, I loved the people.

NStrackman, I love that On30 stuff. I bought two locos, some rolling stock and some track a few years ago, planning to set up a small holiday layoout, but never got around to it. Maybe someday.

Chief, take care of your eyes. Now we know what happened to them in Savannah. Also, stay away from that Costco, the parking lots are dangerous.

Good evening everyone, with all this grits talk maybe I should stop by the store and buy some more heh.

Today was quite a nice day outside...sunny, and the temp got up in the lower 60's. But of course when you're living in the north weather can make sudden changes. By the time evening came it turned colder and started to rain, and on top of that was windy....what a change!

@NS, I will see through the purchase of my Big Boy....already paid half of it down so I will work on paying it off and bringing it home. I shouldn't anticipate any problems with it. I like big steam engines too, but never seen engines of this type until I saw the Lionel Lionmaster six-wheeled loco that my uncle has. Its awesome seeing those many wheels rolling along the track.

Also made a payment on my DCS set in layaway, and as a birthday gift to myself, I bought the Santa Fe 50' Double Door Boxcar by MTH. Gotten a good deal on it too since they had several of the cars on sale.

As for the job, another place I has applied to called me in earlier today, and was hired on the spot. Not bad at all. So Monday I get a new physical and drug screen done (physical expired yesterday) and start oreintation on Monday, and they plan to have me on the road on Tuesday. Should be interesting. And the best part, I will be assigned a brand-spankin new truck!! Nothing like what my previous employer had.

I will be doing regional work, so I may be gone during the week, but will be coming home at times during the week, and I still have my weekends off. So all seems good so far. The dispatch I was talking to said that she will look out for any openings for me for shift-based runs so that will be cool.

All have a good weekend!

Live from Roger’s Corners,
It’s Saturday Morning

YOU GOTTA LOVE A DRUNK

A man and his wife are awakened at 3 o'clock in the morning by a loud
pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where
a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.

"Not a chance," says the husband. "It is 3 o'clock in the morning!" He
slams the door and returns to bed.

"Who was that?" asked his wife.

"Just some drunk guy asking for a push," he answers.

"Did you help him?" she asks.

"No, I did not...it is 3 o'clock in the morning and it's pouring out
there!"

"Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can't you remember
about three months ago when we broke down, and those two
guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be
ashamed of yourself!"

The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the
pounding rain. He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?"

"Yes!" comes the answer.

"Do you still need a push?" calls out the husband.

"Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark.

"Where are you?" asks the husband.

"Over here on the swing!" replies the drunk.

Roy, let me be the first to say Congratulations on your new position with Lionel. You will find Michigan much cooler in the summer than southern Texas. I know you will do a great job refining the design of the TMCC.

Big meeting in New Jersey is over and big changes are on the way. Tom, Mrs. Buckeye told me to get rid of all the trains before we relocate to N.C. They are all yours. You can come and pick them up anytime in the next two weeks. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. I wonder if Collin would like the G Gauge?

Chief, as to the rumor you heard, I don't think CTT will charge those of us that use the forum with 5 stars. That was the understanding I got after reading the email from Bob. By the way when are you going to tell everyone on the forum what you won, a professionally built layout. Wow! [bow][bow][bow]

Dr. John, yes it is true. Atlas is buying Williams. You are going to have the best of both worlds.

Also today I am saddened to say that LAZ has lost his job as a shop teacher. He brought the 800 lb bear to school and was letting it run the table saw. The bear cut its paw and blood was everywhere. Needless to say, due to the lack in judgment, LAZ is a former shop teacher.

And finally, all of us at OTTS want to thank the anonymous donor of $500,000 to the museum's layout. Interestingly the envelope's postal stamp told us that it was mailed from a 27596 zip code. I have no clue where it came from. It is not an Ohio zip code.

See you later and everyone have a good April 1st. [:D]

Morning all. Sunny and warm [very]. Off to the store. Went exploring at lunch but did not find the big swtiching yard I crossed on the Interstate Thursday. Was going to shoot some pictures of the short lines CSX. [:p]

Buckeye: 27596 is close but not it. [:p] Since you and Jim A are moving to NC, we have your "guest workers permits" ready. Yankees have to have a greencard to be allowed to stay here and then, if we find you half way acceptable, you can get citizenship to the SOUTH. No Yankee is ever all the way acceptable. [;)]

Leonard, Roelsville is one of the fastest growing towns in Wake Co. [inspite of Raleigh's Mayor]. You are just jealous as we have outgrown Greensboro [where?]

Colin and all of his female school mates must be in the hospital [mono]. We have not heard from him since he announced he was sick. ??????

Morning everyone. Hope that y'all have a blessed day. We are going to spend the day at a park with a bunch of families waiting to adopt kids from China. While the wife gets the kids dressed, I am watching RFD-TV "Trains and Locomotives" on the Garretts of South Africa. A friend from South Africa has a video he took of these neat engines, starts out with the morning fire up of these engines. Anyway, have a good one and please try not to pick on the Chief too much, I'm afraid that them Florida girls have weakened him and he may never recover. A lesser man would have folded long ago.
Take care,
